I ordered the Ocean & Gulf entrée. My dish included a jumbo lump crab cake, deep-sea scallops, and Gulf shrimp served over forbidden black rice with sautéed vegetables in a honey garlic beurre blanc. Every component was cooked perfectly, and the flavors blended together so well that each bite felt like a little celebration. It was one of those meals where the conversation pauses because everyone is too busy enjoying the food. As if dinner wasn't enough, we finished with Taharka Brothers Honey Graham and Vanilla Bean ice cream. It was creamy, rich, and the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. BlueStone exceeded my expectations from the moment I pulled into the parking lot until the last spoonful of dessert. Because of that rich heritage, I hold this dish in high regard. Unfortunately, this version felt disconnected from the flavors, textures, and history that make shrimp and grits such a meaningful part of Southern food traditions. My dining friend had a burger and I opted for the crispy chicken sandwich with a large order of tots to share. The sandwiches were okay- not great not awful. Both required some doctoring up to elevate them lol. The tots, however, were the star of the show- crispy with good flavor. Summed up, you can't go wrong for a decent late night meal at a reasonable price.
