We visited on Thanksgiving Day evening and Pehoe's offered a very nice three course menu. The food was excellent. The Autumn salad was the bomb. We got the BEST seat in the house. It was so nice to look out over the water at our beautiful skyline all lit up. Where are visit went off the rails is with the staff. My dining partner and I are both disabled, require assistive devices and I have a service dog. While being seating the host was walking us the ramp when another employee just couldn't wait a second, attempted to pass us and nearly kicked the walker out from underneath my fellow diner. Once seated two different servers were in such a rush that one stepped on my service dog and the other one kicked him pretty hard. I appreciate the "I'm so sorry but it fell flat with me. My dog will survive but his side is tender and he doesn't want to be touched where he got kicked. read more

My husband and I joined few couples for Sunday dinner. What a disappointment.Everything we had and we tried almost everything on the menu between all of us was. We held our small weekday wedding reception lunch here. All of our guests loved the ambiance, the service, and the food. The sesame crusted salmon entree and the baked brie as a welcome starter were a definite favorite. Our 2 servers David and Anna were very attentive to our guests and helped us keep the pace of the event moving. We originally spoke with Alisa the Events Manager last year and officially booked our event at the beginning of this year. She worked with us to create a personalized menu and they even printed out a custom menu with our event heading! The day of the event, members of our party were allowed to drop off our own cake and decorate the area before the resturant opened. If you are looking for somewhere to host a special event, definitely consider Peohe's. We had a small party (24 including photographer) and felt very welcomed. Came for Father's Day. My wife had made the reservations well in advance. Apparently they don't have a specification for inside or outside on OpenTable. Got sat inside. It was hot and uncomfortable while outside was one of the most gorgeous days of the year. My wife could not be dissuaded from feeling bad about "messing up" Father's Day. The food was good. Service was lacking. They let our waitress start her first day on Father's Day; clearly the fault of the establishment not the waitress. read more

We ordered the clam chowder and seriously should've stopped there, and that would've been a 5 star review, BUT then we ordered the small seafood platter. Nothing on that platter was fresh. The lobster had a awful taste like soapy, and refrigerated taste so gross. The ahi tuna was inedible, so by then we decided not to eat any of the oysters, or shrimp. I did taste the crab legs and was not impressed!! Service was okay. The girl was swamped and running around, so she didn't get to our table right away. She did stop by apologize for the wait, but didn't offer us drinks until sitting there for over 15 minutes. Views were lovely! read more

Oysters were very good. Ambiance and view was beautiful. Service was honestly terrible it took over two hours for this order. We had to send back the crab legs after one bite because it was so salty fatty and tasted old. Maybe we caught this place on a bad night. It was our first time coming here, and they were extremely accommodating to our parties needs and requests. The only downside is that even though I had said in advance we were bringing a toddler, the toddler chair wasn't at our table and we had to wait for it for a while and we didn't get a child menu, we had to ask for it. BUT our server was incredible and did his best to make up for the other areas that lacked. He was very patient and helpful for us choosing our orders. The food was good but pretty average and then higher priced. The lobster Mac and cheese was alright, but there wasn't a lot of lobster present in it. The pupu platter was actually worth the price though and really good! But all other food was pretty good but nothing crazy amazing. The drink I got though was very good and I would absolutely order it again, it was called the Fleur D Lis. And finally for desserts, the homemade hot chocolate lava cake was the best part out of all!! The ambiance of the restaurant was very pretty and enjoyable to be around and if you wanted to, you could sit outside by the bay which was very relaxing. Great view of San Diego while dining well. Last came here for business lunch. Cucumber+Honey drink was refreshing and the appetizers were good. I went with the French dip as I wasn't totally feeling fish for lunch. It was actually pretty good and not too expensive. Definitely above average French dip. We went for Thanksgiving and were seated close to our reservation time-so far so good. We asked for waters with our drinks and never got any. It took a long time for drinks to arrive but they were very good. The Pu Pu platter was very good, especially the ahi tower. All downhill from there. We rarely saw our server, still no water. We had to ask for a bottle of wine to share (what server wouldn't want to offer and encourage a highly marked up bottle of wine to boost the bill lol?) The wine arrived after the mains were served and the app plates were not cleared until entree plates were taken. Server called MIL "darlin'" , major faux pas. The restaurant is beautiful, esp the view but we won't be back. read more

For all the years that I have not gone to this restaurant and heard people talk about what a special place it is I finally went. Maybe their experiences in the past but right now the service is terrible. Food is OK. I waited 20 minutes for someone to come and take my happy hour order. I waited another 10 minutes just to get a bill and I was paying cash. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

A nice lunch/dinner location on Coronado if you're looking to enjoy a lovely setting as well as good customer service. Our large party was ready to eat after taking the ferry over and the outside dining area is ideal for anyone looking to people watch and take in the fresh air before enjoying some fresh fish. Our favorite non-alcoholic beverage was the Black Cherry Palmer - very refreshing and you'll likely want more than one. The Pu Pu Platter was a fan favorite, though I'd likely pass on the chicken spring rolls next time. My lobster and shrimp roll was good and a hearty choice. Our vegan friend was happy with her healthy-sized Caesar salad. But that chocolate lava cake was the absolute star - order yours early as it easily takes 30 minutes to prepare. read more

Recently a work event brought our large group for a private dinner. We shared passed appetizers, cocktails and enjoyed the privacy of their back patio/deck area overlooking the city. (Great view!) Main courses were served buffet style - warm, delicious and fresh. Staff was efficient and attentive. look forward to returning with a smaller party in the future. read more

We didn't have reservations so were asked to wait for 20 minutes. No big deal. We just took the ferry over so there was plenty to look at while we waited. Looking back on it though, I had wished, and wondered why we weee not offered to sit inside for a drink while we waited. The place was pretty dead... except for the " banquet". Once we were seated our food must have taken at least an hour to come out. It was painful. No one checked on us to offer another drink, or fill the waters. Once the food had arrived one plate was completely wrong, and a "well done" kids burger was medium rare. Disappointed to say the least, but again, no big deal just make it right. Another server brought the food back out and he was fine, but we never saw our original server again. Instead some other guy took over, and when we asked if everything was ok, he replied "she's in training" and walked off!!! He didn't offer anything except for an obvious glare over the shoulder when he walked away. Everyone at the table was shocked, because we never had been treated like this and are not tuff customers. It was awkward enough that my wife had to tell me to stop because I thought we were going to physically fight. The hell? I'm here to show my in-laws a good time, and now I'm going to trade blows with the stand in waiter. He kept coming back and trying to get me to react even while we were leaving, asking if he could fill my water, after the check was paid, and we were walking out. I hat a prize. Went here on a whim on our vacation to San Diego to celebrate multiple birthdays. From the start, our server David made us feel welcome and very taken care of from recommendations to cheerful conversation and overall excellent service. The food was well beyond our expectations! Started with the beet salad and crab cake followed by the ahi tuna and chillin sea bass entrees. All amazing in both taste and presentation. We did a staycation in Coronado and made reservations at Peohe's for dinner. My husband requested outside seating and noted that it was for my birthday. When we got there they asked if we wanted inside or outside, and let us know that outside would be a longer wait. So, we opted to sit at the bar and wait. When we sat at the bar, it took about 10 minutes for the bar tender to get to us (he did mention he was busy... that was a little off putting). We got called to our table before getting those drinks. They sat us on the patio, which wasn't fully outside... it was still under a roof, and there was a banquet in there and it wasn't that enjoyable. Service was good, food was ok... all in all I probably wouldn't go again. If you do go, I suggest sitting out in the full parking with no covering if you go for dinner, the view is amazing. read more

Usually love coming here but today was kind of a different experience. Celebrated my mother's birthday, but maybe we just chose the wrong time to do so. The blond hostess with glasses at front was a sweetheart! Reservation was for 1430. Informed we were in between transitioning from lunch to dinner and the cut off to order from the lunch menu was at 1500. That wasn't communicated to us when we made our reservation. But that was totally fine with us, as some of us wanted to order from the lunch menu while some of us wanted to order from the dinner menu. However, I felt like the delivery of the whole message could have been different. Our waitress informed us the transition from lunch to dinner would require change of server. That was totally fine with us. But it appeared to be an inconvenience to our server and she seemed checked out. But what confused us is that she remained our server, there was no change. After that interaction, service was subpar. Asking for anything felt like an inconvenience and the restaurant wasn't even busy. We also informed the waitress it was my mother's birthday. She brought out a dessert pie with nuts and dipped. The thought was appreciated but unfortunately she couldnt eat it due to the nuts. The only highlight of our experience was an African American gentleman. Bald, handsome and overall provided the best vibes and he actually greeted and wished my mom happy birthday. I honestly wished he served us instead. So final notes. Dinner is better than lunch. Bread is brought to you upon request. And drinks take forever, so be prepared. read more

A great Coronado island experience except for the food. Incomparable view and excellent service. Perfect location to take the ferry from downtown, uber to Hotel Del Coronado, walk around Orange Ave a bit, and then uber the rest of the way back to Peohe. I think this would be best for sushi and drinks. Wines by the glass very nice. We ordered three different entrees and they ranged from not good to okay (that one from the daily special menu). read more

We had great experience this week celebrating a birthday! The service was attentive, the food was good (not amazing, good), but the view... honestly cam here for the view - there is something great watching SD turning lights on as sun goes down. They also have a great lava cake / soufflé desert that takes 30 mins to make, but totally worth the wait! Under staffed on Fathers Day, not great. We waited forever for our food, for our water, for anything. However, it was not busy at all and seemed quite slow. The one star is for our server who had worked a double and brought the energy (I believe her name was Whitney) she was fantastic. You're DEFINITELY paying for the view and the view only. The food is so subpar and not worth the price. Service is good but I'd rather just have a picnic on the grassy area next to the restaurant and enjoy the view for free than to pay good money for a highly unsatisfying meal. Ordered the Fleur D'lis and Chicken Teriyaki bento box - the bento box is so small you'd think it's for a kid. Chicken is not flavorful, teriyaki sauce is weak, and the lobster cali roll is so thin. The Fleur was so light that I questioned whether there was actually any alcohol in there, and I'm sensitive to alcohol so that's saying something. read more

We had a great experience here yesterday with Brian as our server. He was friendly and he was really hard working. We only came for some bubbles and an appetizer, but we are planning to come back next week for dinner since we really enjoyed our time here. I will update once we're back for a full meal, but so far we are very impressed with the food, service and ambience. We also joined the Landry's club (thanks to Brian for informing us of this), since our favorite restaurant in Scottsdale is Mastro's and we were not aware that they were part or the Landry's restaurants. read more

This restaurant is not what she used to be. Have been going here since the early 1990's. Today was not good. My Prime Rib was cold and so were the mashed potatoes. My wife's steak was also cold and very fatty. Our guest from Ohio also found her food to be cold, steak also with some shrimp. Also, I specifically ordered a Lobster Tail add on to my Prime Rib! When I complained about my food being cold they took everything away. They brought me a new piece of prime rib, but, it was not very good and my lobster tail dissappeared forever! They said I never ordered it, which is BS because I changed my order of Lobster Bisque to a very sad pitiful Caesar salad because I did not want all richness of Lobster tail and lobster bisque. This meal sucked! There were 9 of us. I wound up not eating even though they replaced the prime rib! I tried to go to In-n-Out but they are closed.. Not a good Easter dinner! My friends and I were total of four came here for an early dinner 6-22-24. Inside a water cascade beautiful fountain, and beautiful bay windows for great views. There is outside patio seating but to ensure that you get one. you may have to RSVP. Inside however, they're is no bad seating but my fav is by the window looking over the bay toward downtown. We were serviced by a very polite waitress who was more than pleasant. The only issue that I had was that we had ordered sushi and a starter, and only one starter of coconut shrimp came out and by the time our two sushi plates came out our entree food was one second behind it. Had we known we'd be waiting so long for those we would have just skipped sushi starters. Other than that, the food was very good. I enjoyed the sesame crusted salmon which was drizzled with a light teriyaki sauce over a bed of rice and sautéed zucchini. My friends enjoyed their meals as well as the coconut shrimp. The sushi rolls one spicy tuna and the other salmon were good as well. Complementary they give you fresh sourdough rolls with unsalted butter sprinkled with a little Himalayan salt. It was delicious and hot out the oven. Compliments to the kitchen chef but the sushi chefs need a little work on timing as we were there long enough to go through two baskets of bread slowly lol nevermind sushi is cold and raw no cooking required. Other than that, I would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner. read more

We didn't know what a treat we were in for at Peohe's. It was chosen for us by some friends because it was near the Marriott and we'd just arrived and checked in. Husband and I have a long tradition of dining at Chart House restaurants wherever we find them, and it was clear from the walking in the door that this was once a Chart House and clearly is still totally affiliated. Our meal was delicious and beautifully presented, but the service was a bit haphazard, leading to a few mixed up things delivered incorrectly. They were quickly corrected, though. The view is spectacular and it is a high-end, white table cloth style place. It is more than we normally spend but it was a very special occasion and well worth the expense. read more

Tristan was a great server for us on the patio! We requested the patio for the amazing view, but it was a little cold. Ryan noticed we were cold when he dropped food, so he offered us blankets. Amazing service! Food was delicious too. Would recommend and will definitely be returning. read more
