Visited Peohe's in Coronado for their happy hour which starts from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. The listed price is around half the normal price you would pay outside these hours and is also limited in certain areas of the restaurant. We came in at 3:00 pm with a reservation to take advantage of the discounted price. The staff was friendly. The weather was perfect and the scenery was breathtaking with the view of the ocean and the downtown San Diego skyline. We ordered the Kalua Pork Sliders, Kim Chee Calamari, Fried Artichokes, Maui-Style Onion Rings, Coconut Crunchy Shrimp, Spicy Tuna Poke Stack and a sip of mojito. I personally enjoyed the pork sliders and the tuna poke, especially the flavored rice pilaf. Everything we ordered was good, but the venue and ambiance are what put this place at the top. I attended a very good friend's 75th birthday celebration on September 26. Many guests were unable to use the parking code provided, and some reportedly had to pay $30 to park. What was most upsetting was the event coordinator Alyssa's response when the issue was reported. Instead of addressing the problem, she suggested that guests didn't know how to use the code or "couldn't follow instructions." That was dismissive, insulting, and unprofessional. When so many guests experience the same problem, blaming the customers is unacceptable. Peohe's management should apologize and reimburse guests who were charged the $30 parking fee. A special celebration deserved much better customer service. read more

Been to Peohe's a handful of times over the years. The location is hard to beat, absolutely gorgeous views of the downtown San Diego skyline, especially when it's lit up at night. Super romantic and easily one of the best views in Coronado. I've always enjoyed the steak, seafood, lobster and drinks, but unfortunately the last two times I've been really disappointed in the food quality. For the price, some of it honestly tasted like frozen, microwavable food. The interior also feels pretty outdated and could definitely use a refresh. The hostesses and waitstaff have always been nice, but there can be a slightly uppity/snobby vibe. Peohe's is still a Coronado staple with top-tier views, but it's pricey, and I really hope they bring the food quality back to what it used to be. read more

Came here for lunch while visiting Coronado. We wanted to go to cocina but it was too crowded but this place was like empty lol. The restaurant is huge and the waterfront views are definitely the highlight. If you can get a table by the water it's a really nice spot to relax. The only downside was the service was surprisingly slow. We waited about 10 minutes before getting seated even though most of the indoor dining room was empty. The outdoor patio is large too and it didn't seem very crowded either. After we sat down everything took a long time from getting our drinks to placing our food order and even getting the complimentary bread. The warm bread with butter was honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. We ordered the tuna poke and it was just alright. The portion was smaller than I expected and nothing really stood out about it. I also got the rib eye dip sandwich and enjoyed it more. Last year when my wife and I were visiting Coronado, we went to Peohe's for a birthday dinner for me and had a five-star experience. We enjoyed it so much that we made a reservation even before we arrived to Coronado for a dinner at Peohe's on our last night in Coronado. While the food was delicious, we experienced a number of challenges before and after being seated. We created our reservation more than a week earlier through Open Table, and there were plenty of open tables for a weekday evening. We arrived two minutes early for our reservation and was told it would only be another two minutes before we would be seated. A large family arrived after us, and they were seated rather quickly. After ten minutes, I went back to the host stand where I inquired about our reservation. I really only wanted to know if we could be seated soon and confirm we weren't forgotten about. Rather, the host told us that there was a "miscommunication" and we should be seated shortly. We were finally seated a minute or so later. Upon being seated, we were told our server should be with us shortly. It took 8-10 minutes for a server to show up, greet us, and serve us water. It was not busy at that time, and more tables were empty than filled. During that time, we noticed that both of our bread plates were dirty. Once our server arrived, she was very kind and helpful answering many questions. While she did check on us throughout the meal, it wasn't until after our entrees that we finally were offered more water. The dishes we ordered did arrive in a reasonable amount of time. Otherwise, our server was very pleasant though it seemed that she may have been a bit overwhelmed. She did offer good recommendations and strived to make our experience positive. We were initially brought some warm dinner roles and butter for the two of us to share. As we knew our dishes would be filling and would come with sides, we decided that the bread was enough until our entrees arrived. My wife ordered the Aloha Catch Salmon, prepared sautéed and paired with chefs farm fresh harvest and topped with Leon shallot butter. The sides include coconut ginger rice and a vegetable medley. I ordered the Sous Vide Roasted Chicken, which was a half-chicken with garlic based potatoes and asparagus. Both dishes were delicious and filling. I thought the chicken was moist and very tasty. We then opted not to order a dessert but were brought a small red velvet cake with a chocolate Happy Birthday on it. It was small but perfect to wrap up the meal. Peohe's considers itself to be fine dining and is nestled on the water's edge in the Coronado Ferry Landing offering amazing views of the downtown skyline and San Diego Bay. They have a very similar restaurant to Chart House, of which they are considered part of the Chart House and Landry family of restaurants. They specialize in fresh tropical seafood dishes, is known for their sushi bar, and has an elegant seating area indoors as well as patio seating. You can access Peohe's by land or water. We recently hosted a work celebration lunch here for a party of 19 after an amazing month as a team. We made the reservation about two weeks in advance and I even stopped by a couple days beforehand to confirm everything was set. When we arrived, the staff and manager were very accommodating and moved us outside so we could enjoy the beautiful views of the San Diego Bay. The setting truly was amazing and several people in our group commented on how beautiful the restaurant was. Unfortunately, the service timing really impacted the experience. We had an 11:45 reservation, but our orders were not taken until around 12:30 despite appetizers and drinks beginning to arrive. Drinks alone took close to 40 minutes. We had also ordered oysters, and only after we followed up were we informed they had just arrived and had not yet been shucked. It left us wondering if we would have received the notice at all had we not asked. The servers themselves were kind and polite throughout, but service was very infrequent and the pacing of the meal became difficult for a large group with work schedules to maintain. Entrées did not begin arriving until around 1:00 PM, and they came out so spread apart that some team members had finished eating before others had even received their food. Eventually our leader had to ask about the remaining meals because many of us had meetings to return to. The manager did offer complimentary dessert, which was appreciated, but by that point we had already been there over two and a half hours and unfortunately needed to leave. I am very disappointed by the way Alyssa, the event coordinator at Peohe's, responded when I brought up the parking complaints from our guests and friends during a 75th birthday celebration on September 26. When I explained that numerous guests were unable to use the parking code provided to us, Alyssa suggested that perhaps people simply did not know how to use the code or were unable to follow instructions. I found that response extremely dismissive and insulting. When the same problem is being reported by a large number of guests--potentially close to 100--it is unreasonable to blame the guests rather than take the complaint seriously and investigate whether there was a problem with the parking arrangement or the code. To make matters worse, I was told that some of our guests ended up paying approximately $30 just to park. These were our invited guests attending a special 75th birthday celebration, and they should not have been made to feel that they were at fault for a parking arrangement that was supposed to have been provided by the venue. There were also other issues surrounding the event, including the mishandling of the birthday cake that was delivered early by the donor only to be told the cake was not received. After several follow-ups we were told that the cake was indeed delivered and was in their refrigerator. This caused the celebrant unnecessary stress and anxiety. What bothered me most, however, was Alyssa's attitude toward a legitimate complaint. A professional event coordinator should listen respectfully, take responsibility for investigating problems, and work toward a solution--not make dismissive comments suggesting that a large number of guests simply cannot follow instructions. Her comment left me feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, and it raised serious concerns for me about whether our guests were being treated fairly and respectfully. I believe Peohe's management should review what happened, including the parking arrangements and the way this complaint was handled, and provide an appropriate explanation to the host and guests who were affected. Also we forgot the birthday cake at the venue that we didn't touch for the celebration because there was no complimentary birthday candle available so we were gonna continue celebrating at home but when we went back to the venue and pick up the cake we discovered that it was tampered with and some sections were missing. How could you blow the birthday candle on a cake that was tampered with? This is totally disappointing. read more

Amazing views, but the food and presentation wasn't anything to rave about. I usually don't like dining out on holiday occasions, but we went for Mother's Day dinner. The menu was a 3 course prefix. I opted for the wedge salad, prime rib, and the chocolate mousse cake. The wedge salad was nothing like a traditional wedge salad from most restaurants. The plating was sloppy and the blue cheese dressing didn't taste like blue cheese. The prime rib was prepared well. The mashed potatoes came out hard, like they've been sitting for awhile. The au jus sauce was too salty. My bf opted for the lobster bisque, swordfish, and white chocolate cheesecake. The cup of bisque was watery and had no texture or substance. The swordfish was dry. It looked dry on arrival. My daughter got the kids cheese burger (came out full size) so not bad for $15. The dessert was probably the best part, but I don't even think it's made in house. Our white chocolate raspberry cheese cake had a piece of wax paper stuck to the plate decoration. Service was good, but the restaurant overall didn't meet my expectations. Peohe's in Coronado is the most reviewed restaurant so I had to see. The restaurant appears a bit dated but was clean and presented nicely. There's interior and exterior seating, but with sunny San Diego weather, seating outside umbrella shades and waterfront views is preferred. The staff were very accommodating, helpful and nice, special thanks to our server Elle who had a positive attitude. The food selections were excellent. We ordered the seafood pasta, sesame crusted salmon for entrees and both were delicious. The Peohe salad and the red velvet cake were also yummy. This restaurant is part of the Chart House collection of restaurants throughout the nation, so most of the menu selections will be similar. Hubby wanted lobster but ended up ordering a prime rib end cut that came with garlic mashed potatoes. His drink ordered was a chocolate and bourbon drink that had a nice huge ice cube along with a skewered cherry and a solid chocolate ball. My mother in law had a blood orange and sage nonalcoholic beverage and she really enjoyed it. For dinner she had a wedge salad and lobster bisque soup. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and it was quite a generous portion with plenty of lobster chunks. I ordered the berry fauxhito which was quite refreshing. Sorry, we did share the pupu platter which had ahi poke, lobster sushi rolls, egg rolls, shrimp cocktail, and fried shrimp. We really enjoyed all of the elements on the platter. My favorites were the two different shrimp offerings. The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor dining options, a sushi bar, as well as a regular bar. The atmosphere could be considered romantic in their large curved booths or business casual and also family friendly. There is something for everyone here. We went to Peohe's for my birthday dinner with my family and had a great time! We were sat outside and even though it was a gloomy night it was right waterfront. When it got chillier at night we got the warmers lit up right by us. I ordered the King Salmon with the mango salsa, the Coconut Shrimp, and the made to order lava cake and all of it was phenomenal!! Most importantly, our waitress Devon was amazing! She was beyond attentive, offered great recommendations, and was super friendly. We were shocked when we found out she was waiting on nearly half of the restaurant it seemed on her own! I was shocked a manager did not step in to help her. While being overwhelmed with tables she managed them and herself phenomenally and was seamlessly helpful and timely. Celebrated 43 years of marriage at Peohe's on Coronado Island. Great window seat with a wonderful view of the bay and the San Diego skyline. Our server for the night was Christian. Christian provided outstanding service! Water to the table and we decided to order cocktails to start. My bride ordered a Tito's Dirty Martini and I opted for the recommended Chocolate Bourbon Cocktail that resembles an Old Fashioned. Next we order the Kim Chee Calamari, a favorite of ours. Cocktails and appetizer do not disappoint, we move on to the main course. My wife orders the Crab Stuffed Flounder and I the Chilean Sea Bass with Pinot Noir Sauce. These seafood dishes were outstanding and we did our best to clean both plates. For dessert we order the Mud Pie and with that Christian also brings us a complimentary slice of Red Velvet Cake. We brought a special bottle of wine to enjoy because corkage fee is only $25 per bottle. Our night at Peohe's was close to perfect. Can't wait to make a return visit. read more

We have been going to Peohes for years. It's a favorite of our family's for celebrating special occasions. I'm not sure if it still is affiliated with the Chart House but it used to be. It's like their Hawaiian sister. Favorites are the coconut shrimp, teriyaki steak, she crab appetizer in season, macadamia nut banana fish dish. Parking is easy in a lot or on the street. The view of the bay and downtown San Diego skyline is awesome. If you sit outside sometimes you can hear the concerts at Rady Shell. read more

We visited Peohe's on a beautiful warm'ish Sunday afternoon in January for drinks and apps. We were seated on the patio with a gorgeous view of our bay and city skyline. Satin, our server greeted us after a few minutes. She provided attentive service throughout our visit. We ordered two lobster bisques, the Pupu platter, and a wedge salad. For drinks, my partner had an old fashioned, (which he rated a NINE!) and I had the cherry iced tea, which was just the right balance of sweetness. The lobster bisque was not creamy like bisque usually is although it was still quite tasty, just not what we were expecting. The wedge salad was a generous portion and delicious. The pupu platter was a good combination of apps: two types of shrimp, ahi stack, spring rolls, and California rolls. Served with wasabi, ginger, and three sauces (cocktail sauce, soy sauce, and chili sauce). There is music playing until 4pm on Sunday's in the grass area just beyond the patio. Last night's service was the worse I've ever experienced. Sat for 40 minutes without water, bread or a drink order placed. Spoke with the manager who apologized and eventually delivered our drinks. There seemed to be a lack of staffing or experienced wait staff. As always the food was great but wish my water glass (which finally arrived) could have been refilled or at least offered another bar drink. The manager ducked out as I wanted to thank him for his hospitality, hahaha. For Restaurant Week, we were in search for a waterfront restaurant to maximize our dining experience. We had a few options to consider and decided on Peohe's. They say it's a favorite in Coronado and very well known for its fresh tropical seafood dishes but the proof is in the pudding--we had to see about that. It was easy to get to by car plus a parking lot is available at Coronado Ferry Landing Marketplace. We could've taken the ferry for the full-on waterfront experience but wanted to have ample time for dinner. When we entered this modern-looking wood and glass building, it's island-inspired interior had a posh flair. We immediately requested outdoor seating. And once we got there, OMG what a stunning harbor view!! Later on, we witnessed a few times the ferry swirling into the landing at the dock. Our waiter and other staff provided a warm-friendly service even the people dining there were friendly too creating an inviting laid-back atmosphere. Come to find out, "Peohe's" is a Hawaiian word meaning "Gathering of Friends". What a beautiful evening in good company and surroundings! I felt like I was on vacation. The Restaurant Week menu had some really great options for our palates. Our dinner ended up to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Hands down, Peohe's is the BEST restaurant. Highly recommend it!! Monday evening about 4:30 PM and I think the restaurant was a bit understaffed. There was no hostess as we entered and we weren't sure if they were even open for business except that we saw people sitting at the patio. Also, there were two ladies before us who said that there was someone working but she didn't come back yet and they've decided to leave so we could take their spot. Soon after a host appeared and put us on the waitlist. The restaurant was pretty empty. Nobody in the indoor dining area. We asked to be seated in the dining area and they places us in an enclosed patio which turned out perfect. We had a beautiful view and we had prompt service with recommendations and time to review our menus. However, they placed our appetizer before we got our waters. The Coconut Crunchy Shrimp was excellent and I ordered the Spider Roll which was delicious. My friend ordered the Salmon Aloha Catch, she asked how did they sauce the salmon but I think her question stumped the server and he said in a pan (you had your choice of grilled, baked, blackened and sautéed). She said the salmon was good but her veggies needed some salt. We were celebrating her birthday and a dessert with a candle is always a nice touch. This restaurant was really great! Not only is it beautiful, it has a gorgeous view on the water. I had the blackened salmon and my husband had the blackened swordfish. Both of them were delicious! As everyone else mentions, the views are stunning. We came here to celebrate a birthday. We hadn't been back since I was a kid. Check-in was smooth since we had reservations at 6:30pm. Unfortunately, our experience was started off on the wrong foot when the hostess looked at our ADA guest up and down with a rude facial expression. Our bread was served and had hair on it. Thankfully, our waitress was attentive and helpful the whole evening we were there. The sushi tower is a cool concept but I was disappointed. The rice was hard. The lobster mac made up for the sushi. I can't speak for everyone else's dishes in our party. They did provide a sweet birthday cake for the celebrant. Fireside Salmon - So tender and the piece was actually a big piece. Crème Brûlée - Smooth with a perfect crust. Loved the Fizz & Bergamont - Pretty drink and not too alcohol. I did take away star because we weren't paid attention as much as we would have liked. We had to flag down the waiters to refill our drinks or get anything else we needed. First time at Peohe's for my wife and I. Love the location, great Coronado Bay views! Even though there were ceiling fans, they seat us on the patio and it was too hot at 3:30pm. However, the marvelous views compensated the heat. The service was on point, we had a great waiter - very knowledgeable! The food was great except for the chimichurri. The menu stated chimichurri but, on three different dishes that we ordered, we received chimichurri PESTO instead. Plus the chimichurri pesto was bland. Came here for our honeymoon. As a spot in a touristy area on the water, we expected the food to be below the price-tag. That said, the food was legitimately hard to eat. Cocktails? A+. The bartender wasn't just pouring drinks, she was basically teaching Cocktail 101--breaking down every ingredient like we were in mixology grad school. I had the "fancy" Manhattan (translation: it takes longer to make than it does to drink), and it was worth the wait. For dinner, my wife and I split the prime rib with potatoes and creamed spinach, all while soaking in a gorgeous bay view. Honestly, the scenery deserved a standing ovation. The food? Good... with a catch. We asked for medium prime rib, got a brown slab instead. The server swore it was medium, then warned me that what I really wanted would be "too pink." Sir, if I wanted culinary gaslighting, I'd watch a cooking competition show. They brought another one--still not medium, but by then hunger won. We ate it. So yeah, amazing drinks, killer view, food that almost kept up. Not terrible, but let's just say the bar is outshining the kitchen by a few light years. read more

Came here for Valentine's Day and although the wait was longer than anticipated, with a reservation, it was understandable for the day. Nevertheless it was a great dinner with an amazing view of the city and our server was nice and attentive, which made the wait all that much more worth it. Steak was tender, lobster was fresh, views unmatched. Made our 15th Valentines Dinner memorable. Definitely coming back for another special dinner in the future. read more

My wife, son, and I came here for lunch and this place is amazing on Coronado Island. Highly recommend sitting on the patio area and enjoying the downtown San Diego views from the water. Restaurant is huge and plenty of seating so it's easy to walk in or make reservation. Great food options, you won't be disappointed! read more
