*I am a Xiao Long Bao (XLB) enthusiast. I ordered XLB (Pork) only, so my rating is solely based on the XLB. So my review is quite limited. Finding a new XLB is such a joy. Once found, I must try. Their XLB is pork only. It is not their signature item, so I did not expect much before ordering. But the XLB was actually good. When opened the lid, I felt relieved to learn that it was NOT machine pleated XLB like other places. Wrapper: 4/5 Nice pleats, not very thin, but not too thick. No hole or leak. Nice chewiness. Filling (meat): 4/5 Well balanced flavor, not pasty and not stringy. Tender enough to integrate with soup in the mouth. Soup: 3.5/5 A bit soy sauce forward. Good amount for the meat filling. Somewhat lacked depth. If I am here for bigger meal, I would definitely order this as a side :)

Came here on a weekday evening to try their Peking duck. Was not disappointed. The Peking duck was very well done. The skin was the right amount of crispy and soft and each slice had the right amount of skin and meat. Our 2nd course was the fried rice which came with a good amount. Not many places offer fried rice as the 2nd course so we will definitely be coming back. The restaurant itself looked good, with ample amount of seating. Service wise there isn't anything to mention about was we were basically the only customers there, although do note that the Peking duck has a 20 minute wait. Maybe order some dimsum if you're a larger party so you have something to eat during the wait.

First time trying Peking Man since they moved from their Sheppard location and we tried 10 different dishes. Unfortunately the flavor is bland and is much less complex. Also two of our diners also had upset stomachs afterwards. It was also very quiet with 2 other tables occupied. I wanted the experience to be much better, but unfortunately it missed the mark and I wouldn't recommend going.

Cuts whole Peking duck outside of kitchen. Lots of skill. Very fast.

The restaurant is upstairs of the pacific mall, opposite end from the lucky bridge. Famous for their Peking duck set, comes with a full duck and 12 very thin wraps. Server brings the whole Peking duck out and cuts it in the dining area. Very skillful. Coming from boston, $56 CAD for a whole Peking duck is the cheapest I've seen on the east coast... You can add a 2nd course with the bones for additional $$ or take it home. We got the duck soup with vegetable. The stir fry rice cake was very good, not super chewy and flavorful 'wok hei'

Tea: possibly jasmine tea. Free. Very good.

Everything I had was delicious. Definitely a place to try! We ordered 5 different dishes for a party of four and definitely could have stopped at the third or fourth dish. Portions are large and good to share for groups You can even take the rest of the duck portions home! p.s. didn't get water but also didn't ask for it.

First time to try after moving to pacific mall. Very quiet and only 2 tables including us. The last time to try this restaurant was still located in north York. Overall is not bad, maintain the standard. Price is reasonable too. Will try their set dinner next time.

I have always wanted to try Peking Man Restaurant, but it was always so far away from me. Anyway, they recently relocated inside Pacific Mall (second floor). Finally had it on Monday, and got it as take-out. The Peking Duck was $46, and it comes with 12 pancakes, fixings (onions, cucumbers, 2 sauces), and the meat as well. For a few dollars more, you can get the second course as lettuce wraps. I'm not a fan of lettuce wraps, so I forego it. The Peking Duck was crispy, and juicy even at home. It wasn't the best I ever had, but it was still really good. Definitely will return to dine-in next time.

Peking duck was excellent, however the ambience is in a mall. Not sure why but we went around 7 and absolutely no one was there but our table. The mall closed at 8, maybe that's why? The restaurant is hidden behind medical stores which is disorienting. Overall, food was good, price was on point and Service was good. There was just 1 server so I guess it was normal for it to be slow on a Tuesday night. We ordered a set meal, with soup, lobster, noodles, duck, veggie, and cold platter.

Originally located in Sheppard and Leslie, but has now relocated to Pacific mall on 2nd floor. The braised beef is one of their signature dish and it did not disappoint. The fish soup was different from other places we've tried and actually better. The soup dumplings were the perfect temperature and delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here!!

When they provided with a table it was right next to an exterior door, with people going in and out. The was a cold draft, we even had to tell the hostess/manager, if they could provide a divider to divert the draft from hitting our table. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes, one be Roasted Pig Mixed Cold Jellyfish, which was $23.80. I had the idea that it would be a fair portion. When it came, I was shocked, it was only 6 pieces of Roasted Pig. When I spoke with the manager about the portion size, he commented "for that price it is fair". There was not apologies and walked away, nor was it written on the menu. If I had known it was only 6 pieces (size of your index and middle finger put together). I would not have ordered it. If you want to have Roasted Pig, you can get better deals else where. Also, ordered Marinated Chicken Feet for $13.98, when it came to table, it was also a disappointment, part of the chicken feet was dark in colour, not even sure if it was even edible or not. Another dim sum dish that I have order was the steamed chicken with fish maw. The chicken was okay, but there was only two small pieces of fish maw, (the size of each piece was 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch). The order 6 dim sum dishes that was order was mediocre, tasted better from other Dim Sum restaurant. When I received the bill for the meal it came out to be $119.50, they even had included the tip. They didn't even give me an option weather a tip was even worthy. I will definitely not be returning to this place. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. I would consider blacklisting this restaurant. It's simply deceiving customers.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.

Parking still sucks, lol. As someone who isn't a huge fan of dim sum or the traditional dim sum tea, I was really happy to see that they now offer HK Style Milk Tea as well as various flavours of slushie and bubble tea offerings. As a milk tea lover, this alone would make me choose this place over another. :) The restaurant itself is quite spacious. When you enter, it's the front counter and a take out shelf (with LOTS of people ordering take out). There is a dining room to the left and to the right. I like that the tables are generously spaced apart, unlike some other dim sum places. Food wise, it's pretty decent, like any other dim sum place. I wouldn't say that it's anything special and no dish really stood out to me. We were a larger group so we ordered 2-3 rounds of stuff, and sometimes would just ask the server to add on a dish for us. I don't know if this was confusing for them or what because a lot of our dishes didn't end up coming. Of course, dishes that didn't come were not charged. The bill itself is a little confusing but they are happy to explain it to you. Instead of an itemized receipt, it is just multiple lump sums for tea charge, S/M/L items, special items, etc. Gratuities are already included.

Since this Chef 88 is opened until 1am, I think this place will get busier as the night progresses. We weren't super hungry as well ate something for tea time. So we ordered Maggi Lobster (~3lbs) for $34/lb, and stir fried beef with Chinese broccoli (gai lan). The lobster was cooked perfectly, with the Maggi sauce not being too salty. They definitely gave us all the pieces of the 3lbs lobster. The gai lan had a bitter aftertaste, which is common for this vegetable. I wished they had a way to get rid of that. They were generous with the amount of beef and was well marinated. The cut wasn't that great, but that is to be expected. I don't think they added much MSG or at least used good quality ones, as we did not feel overly thirsty later in the evening. They give free daily soup and dessert. What we were most impressive was with the service. The waiters were very attentive, changing our plates twice during our 1ish hour meal. The also gave us wet wipes and more napkins without us requesting it. They even offered us additional soup, which we declined as we were quite full.
