My family and I went to Skyview Fusion Cuisine for lunch. It was around a 30-40 minute wait even though we arrived past 1pm. It's a popular spot located in Markham where tons of people enjoy coming here for dim sum and for dinner. Once we were seated, we got the ordering sheet where you can check off all the items you want to order. We ordered a bunch of items: Deep Fried Octopus Tentacles, Deep Fried Shrimp Ball with Almond, Salt and Pepper Fish, Baiyun Phoenix Claws, E-Fu Noodles and the Ginger Scallion Beef Tripe. Most of the items were very well made. Not too salty and quite flavourful. You can taste MSG but it wouldn't be dim sum if you didn't taste it. Special mentions go to the Deep Fried Shrimp Ball with Almond because I love how it is coated with Almond Slices and it was not too oily. I also really liked the Deep Fried Octopus Tentacles since it was not battered like crazy and I loved the Salt and Pepper Fish. The E-Fu Noodles were a bit bland, but it might have been because everything else had more flavour to it. We originally ordered their duck, but since we came later in the day, it was sold out. I would recommend getting it when you visit. The customer service was not too bad. They had multiple servers walking around but you have to ask specific ones if you wanted to have more hot water for your tea or wanted to add an order. Standard customer service in a Chinese restaurant. I like the look of the restaurant since it is more of a banquet hall type with a bunch of tanks with fresh fish and assorted seafood. Good spot for big groups and for a family gathering. read more

Had dim sum and it's good but not amazing. We had the following: Har gow: possibly largest in the city. Gigantic. It's missing the juice thot accumulates inside Pork and veggie dumpling; average. No big deal Siu Mai: also massive. Loosely put together so it falls apart which is annoying. Tastes poor Beef tendon : huge pieces that are intact. Excellent Octopus in curry sauce : exactly the way it should be. Plump and good flavour. Sticky rice with chicken in lotus leaves: small portion. I don't like chicken only versions Shrimp and pork spring rolls: these suck Pan fried turnip cake: huge but way too much filler. Didn't taste like turnip and more like filler. Deep fried seaweed roll with fish and shrimp: delicious cuz it's fried. Tastes like the fish portion of the lobster claws you can get at dinner. Pan fried pork and chive dumplings: mediocre Bbq pork rice roll: above average. But not spectacular Bbq pork rice: huge portion and a great value. Didn't taste like the dinner one I had before which I considered among the best in the city. Service was ok but they were too aggressive trying to clear the tables and giving me the bill. They kept getting in the way as I tried to pack my leftovers. Overall the know what people look for and push towards it (size) but they do lose on flavour execution as some things are so bad it's upsetting (turnip cake, Siu Mai, spring roll) read more

Had dim sum with my fiancé's siblings at Skyview Fusion Cuisine Several options that are not available in southern California. Food was tasty and price was right before 11AM. Ordered and enjoyed the food as it came out. read more

I will rate this place a solid 4 stars. Compared to their sister location and dual owned One Fusion on Bayview. Which I rated 3 stars. The difference is the cost. Skyview offered a small, medium and large dim sum special at $5.80 if paying cash. Whereas the One Fusion did not. The food quality was pretty much the same. It's your average dim sum. Absolutely nothing spectacular. No special dishes to write home about. Nonetheless if looking for a bargain and relatively decent dim sum. Then a recommendation is in order. I will be back for a deal but will reserve my gourmet dim sum visits for other dim sum establishments. read more

Was at Skyview or takeout and they were super busy! This is a popular brunch and dinner spot in the area and we thought to try it out. Takeout took a long time, it was about 30 mins to get the food ready and everything was great at home. We ordered: - fried squid, standard taste and crispy, as expected - salted fish with chicken fried rice, standard taste - veggie with tofu and mushroom, great choice for a vegetarian option Overall, the taste is good, but nothing special compared to other chain Chinese restaurants. It's also on the pricier side of regular Chinese food considering the portions. If we are in the neighborhood, we will try their dining experience and/or brunch and update. read more

Still a great dim sum spot but prepare to wait a long time. Came on a weekend with a reservation for 12:00PM. Although we had the reservation and even came 10 minutes earlier, we ended up getting seated at around 12:40PM. A bit wild in my opinion and beats the entire purpose of having a reso in the first place. However, was food exceptional here as always? Yes. Service was good? Yes. They have all your classic dim sum dishes like chicken feet, siu mai, har gows, and more. A must get here is definitely their cha siu with noodles - affordable and tasty. I also really enjoy their pineapple char sui baos. Overall, solid food but crazy wait times. Probably wouldn't frequent here again because of my latest experience. A once in a while spot in my books. read more

I'm always on the hunt for good Chinese food and if I have to go to Markham for some scouting, so be it. We got there for somewhat of an early dinner (5:30/6) and the place was almost fully booked so they had to sit us in one of the small AV rooms (lol). We quickly found out why the place is so packed, the food is absolutely delicious! Our favorite dishes were a black beef tenderloin (pictured) where the addition of roasted sesame cashews was a great touch. I also highly recommend their seafood fried rice that was absolutely delicious and they even added some tobiko for crunch! We ended off the meal with a complimentary jelly dessert and overall Im looking forward to going back :) read more

Came here back in February on CNY eve, already knew it would it be a gong-show - and it was indeed packed to the rim. Was already prepared to wait, However the hostess just continuously lied, I get they can't project the actual wait time - but do not keep saying 5 more minutes for nearly an hour. Additionally - when we were the "next" table in line, someone went to the hostess that just got there, and was like i forgot to make reservation, and got seated in a minute. When we asked the hostess about it - she said they were waiting a long time. Like come on, why you lying? lol. Anyways - place for quite clean for the most part, however bathrooms seemed pretty ignored. - well lit and tables spaced pretty well. However quite loud, but again very busy. In terms of the food - it was honestly pretty average. Prices seemed pretty very and portions were quite nice. The squid was super delicious - the rest just tasted like anywhere else. Overall - worth trying to form your own opinion - however, this is a first and last for me. read more

Been here for dim sum, which is great if you happen to score a table in a timely manner. This time we're here for dinner and the quality of food is good. Who knew that this dim sum spot on a January day will be busy for dinner! We were planning to just walk-in but thank goodness I called for a reservation on the day of as we got the last table at 6:30pm. They did have another event for a 100 day celebration going on for another party that took up 50 spots. However, speaking with the server, she said this is not considered a busy day so I suppose it could be even busier than this. The restaurant has the standard traditional Chinese banquet ambiance and they can section out for parties and there are private dining rooms too. This is where you would enjoy authentic Cantonese-style Chinese food. In fact, my non-Asian friend who was in my party noticed that he's the ONLY non-Asian in this entire restaurant and that's his gauge for authenticity lol. We ordered a dinner set for 4 which included soup, vegetables and mushroom, fish, beans and veggies, char siu and dessert. They even up the dessert portion to our party size, which was a nice touch. We added a stewed crab noodle and soya sauce chicken (apparently the server noted they specialize in). The food was tasty! Soya chicken is much better than what I would find in a Chinese butcher shop. The stewed crab noodle we ordered like off menu was just okay kind of plain tasting but I suppose went well with our salty dishes as we didn't order rice. However, I would say we enjoyed the food at One Fusion better (their sister restaurant under the same ownership). The char siu (BBQ pork) at One Fusion is the best I've ever had and here, while it's pretty good and up there, the cut of meat is slightly either too fat or a little too lean, not the balanced perfect bite I had at One Fusion. The server was waiting a huge section for herself but she still maintained a great attitude and even helped us set up cake cutting on our table (no cake cutting fees). read more

I came here for dim sum with some relatives. Popular place with locals it seems. Long wait to get in on a weekend. Service after being seated was a bit slow but was to be expected given how busy they were. Place was packed. Food we ordered: Beef balls - ok. Not super flavourful but nice texture. Oddly enough we had to ask for the Worcestershire sauce. It wasn't served with the dish as normally expected. 3.5/5. Rice rolls with shrimp - the rice rolls were a bit too wet and mushy. Shrimp and veg filling were nice. 3.5/5. Rice rolls with cumin lamb - less common version of this. Sadly not much lamb, cost more for same portion size as other rice rolls, too much cumin and celery. And still too mushy. 2/5. Giant dumpling in soup - ok. Nothing bad, nothing amazing. Pretty standard. 3.5/5. Bbq pork with noodles in soup - the pork was excellent. We asked for a lean cut and it was lean but still very tender with a nice char. The noodles were slightly overdone. 4/5. Fried pigeon - a bit overcooked and dry. 3/5. In terms of value, the bbq pork with noodles was a giant portion and great lunch special deal at $15. Feeds 2 easily. Highly recommend. The dim sum dishes varied, typically just under $10 each. Pretty average pricing and mediocre quality. The pigeon was $20 but not done well. Tea was $2.50 per head which imo is too high for a place like this. The restaurant itself has the typical tacky decor with a rainbow of colours and lighting found in Chinese banquet restaurants of this vintage. It was clean and comfortable enough. A bit run down but fine. Plenty of free parking out front. Overall, solid average with an exceptionally good lunch time bbq pork noodle deal for value. read more

Came here after lunch around 13:30 and it was pretty busy still, possibly popular. Wait time was long over 25mins. The place is huge though, usual dimsum Chinese restaurant. Mostly round tables, couple of private rooms. Small bathroom as well. Order using the paper on the black box side then anything additional for a second round, place the number on the red box "add" section. Food portion is huge here! We usually order two squid tentacles for the kids but it was too much now. Their har gaw is massive. Great portions, no need to order extra for sure. The only disappointment would be anything with rice rolls, way too sticky. Service is fast though, the staff were so kind to the girls. read more

Came here to try their Chinese dinner menu as they launched a new crazy promotion. An adult 12 years-old and above when you spend $30 before tax, you will get a free 8 Oz Angus beef steak worth $20 to take home. Basically , spend $30 and getting about $20 back in steak value. What a steal! Ordered sweet and sour pork. Sauce was perfect sweetness and not overly sweet. They have blueberries, pineapples, red pepper and green pepper. Using all fresh fruits. Pork was tender, juicy and had good portion of fat. Only complain was I wish it was more crispy and comes out hot. Red wine crispy oysters was nice flavour and had 6-7 oysters. Deep fried big blump oysters drizzled in red wine sauce. Again it was tasty but the food was not hot enough and the deep fried oysters was not crispy enough. Free range chicken with baby greens was outstanding. It was sprinkled with Chinese dry-cured ham pieces. A nice salted ham that goes with every bite of the juice tender chicken. This was my favorite dish. Daily soup (carrot pork bone soup with logan). Soup was very sweet and the temperature came out hot as it should be especially when dining during winter. We ordered the small size for $12. Honestly flavour was good overall but food were not crispy and hot enough imo. I visited during winter months and I think serving hot food and the right temperature is important. Service was mediaocore and the manager wasn't friendly or attentive. 3 stars but this free Angus steak promo is creative. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. The quality and service have gone completely down the drain. What used to feel like a restaurant worth coming back to now feels like a huge waste of money. We ordered the set menu and added a peking duck for Mid Autumn dinner. Only after the fact we ordered the set menu, the hostess tells us there is no more fish, and substitute it to sweet and sour pork. Thats poor servicing and let alone not considering the price difference. The food was lacking in quality and care, and the service was equally disappointing. In the side dishes tray surrounding the peking duck wraps, was rotten tomatoes, the staff said it was display only. Then why the heck put it out? Lack of care, and can clearly see why the Staff were inattentive, and the overall experience felt brushed off, rude and, rushed. Very poorly managed, feeling like you received neither good food nor good service. For the prices being charged, the standard should be much, much higher.and not lie to customers after the fact of ordering a set-menu. read more

Skyview is popular, and that was obvious even early on a Monday, with the dining room buzzing and nearly packed. The setting feels like something straight out of Hong Kong: an over-the-top, slightly artificial kind of opulence that somehow holds a very special place in my heart. Noisy restaurants have so much character. In fact, they're one of my favorite sounds. Have you ever just closed your eyes and listened to everything happening around you? The overlapping conversations, managers firmly directing--or occasionally yelling at--staff, glasses, tea cups, and chopsticks clanking. It's the soundtrack to some of the greatest food memories of my life and on full display here. I was a solo diner, which was a first for me when it comes to dim sum, and probably something I won't repeat often. The whole point of dim sum is ordering half the menu and sharing everything, which is a little difficult when you're sitting alone. Still, I went for five dishes--which was far too much, but honestly, over-ordering is part of the experience no matter how many people you're dining with. The portions here are among the largest I've ever seen. These are dumplings on steroids, with oversized versions of many dim sum classics. I ordered the fried almond shrimp balls, bean curd stuffed with pork, fried chive and pork dumplings, turnip cakes, and steamed pork and vegetable dumplings in the Chiu Chow style. Everything was good, but the steamed pork and vegetable dumpling was the standout. It had great texture from the added peanuts, a wonderfully chewy wrapper, and a fresh filling that was both herbaceous and savory. The turnip cake was also impressive, with large chunks of firm taro layered throughout. The remaining dishes were solid but more in line with what you'd find at many other dim sum restaurants. Nothing wrong, but nothing that particularly stood out. Overall, Skyview is a cool spot with a fantastic dim sum atmosphere. Come for the energy, the nostalgia, and the experience--and make sure you bring friends, because dim sum was never meant to be eaten alone. read more

I came here with two of my friends for CNY - we were pretty hungry so we ordered quite a bit, but unfortunately we couldn't finish everything so we got to take it home. They had a good selection of dumplings that you normally don't see so I appreciated it. However the server that came around and showed us our tables was very rude and felt like they were rushing us to get out sooner. Food was otherwise good and it was nice having Chinese new year music playing in the background. The place is just a regular banquet hall. I did see that there was a mouse that ran under a nearby table so that was just mildly concerning. read more

I hate to admit it but I honestly love this place. It's like the equivalent of going back to your favourite toxic ex- you just can't let go. LET ME EXPLAIN. The service, meh. Even on days where you're lucky enough to make a reservation AND you arrive early, you still need to wait (and i'm not talking about a 2-5 min wait, i'm saying it's close to a 15-20 min wait). Atp why allow reservations if everyone needs to wait? Service: 3/5 As for the restaurant environment, it's pretty decent (besides the time I saw ratatouille irl climbing the ceiling- yes, even the waitresses were shocked but that's okay, gives the restaurant character). It's very big and spacious- and surprisingly even with lots of people, it's not overly loud where you're practically screaming to hear what the other person's saying. 2.5/5 THE REASON I FALL BACK INTO THIS TOXIC LOOP AND COME BACK is because of the food man. It slaps so hard every. Time. Literally has me in the toughest chokehold. THE HAR GOW IS THE SIZE OF MY FIST AND IK U SEE THE MASSIVE SHRIMP. THEY ALSO HAVE THE MOST UNIQUE DESSERTS LIKE DURIAN CHEESE BUNS? If the dim sum si fu is reading this- i love you and pls bring back the durian egg tart anyways dim sum here is 10000/10. Service is temporary, food is forever- remember that. read more

Your standard Chinese restaurant that does dim sum and dinners. This place has been around a while and has lots of regulars. We are told that making a reservation is highly recommended. Food is okay and service was okay. The size of the siu mai and beef ball were bigger than I have seen in other places. The BBQ pork in the puff had a very gingery presence and might not be for everyone. The BBQ pork rice comes with 1 bowl of rice. In general an okay visit.... read more

I was so impressed with the size and the quality of the dimsum here! Wow, the siu mais were the size of my fist. The har kow had like four full shrimps in it, it's impressive how it was all contained in the wrapping! The char siu triangles had a gingery flavor to the char siu sauce which was a fantastic twist I didn't expect. Their eggless egg tart was also very unique to me and super creamy. Everything was incredibly good. Definitely would recommend this place! read more

We (group of 9) went to Skyview Fusion Cuisine for dinner. We had previously been to the restaurant on several occasions without incident. It is safe to say our latest experience will be our last one at Skyview Fusion Cuisine and we will not be going back. They have lost a repeat customer due to horrible customer service. Service was great and attentive UNTIL we brought to their attention that part of the lobster was uncooked - we even sent back a (large) piece of the raw lobster - and honestly wasn't expecting anything of it. However the server came back to us and mentioned a 10% discount would be applied to the lobster dish. When the bill came, there was no discount reflected on the bill for the lobster. When we asked, we were told that the discount was on the bill - they referred to the standard 10% cash discount that is available to all customers. When we brought it their attention that the server had mentioned a separate discount for the raw dish, they firmly stated there is no discount on meat and seafood dishes. Ultimately, after several minutes of back and forth, and the server consulting with their colleagues, they eventually decided to readjust the bill. To add additional insult, as we were waiting for the final bill, another server came over and asked us to vacate the table as there were other guests waiting to be seated. This was not about the money, it is about the principle. If they did not want to honour the discount, and recognize the mistake with the uncooked dish, they should not have promised or mentioned it in the first place. Horrible customer service. Aside from the raw lobster, a few of the other dishes were overly salty. Do not recommend. read more

Their food isn't too bad here. But they lost a couple of stars for their customer service. Don't get me wrong, a few of their staff were very pleasant to deal with. But you do get the one lady who's kind of rude. And for starters, despite it being kind of busy during dinner service, you need someone to greet your customers at the entrance. We literally had to wait several minutes before someone actually tend to us. You don't make customers wait that long. We could have easily walked out. read more

12/10/24 10a While in Markham, I was looking for a place that opened early for breakfast and came across Skyview Fusion Cuisine. It's a Chinese restaurant that specializes in Dim Sum and offers a selective menu of Chinese dishes. There is free parking available onsite, which is a nice convenience. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the host and seated instantly. Right away, we were served two pots, one with tea and the other with hot water. Unlike other Dim Sum places I've visited in the U.S., where carts roll around with a variety of options to choose from, Skyview has a more limited selection. Here, only the most popular dim sum dishes are available, and you have to order from the menu. They do offer other kitchen items besides dim sum, but those are only available after 11 AM. I ordered some of my favorite dim sum dishes: steamed shrimp and snow pea leaf rice rolls, steamed shrimp dumplings, scallop dumplings, and steamed pork dumplings. All of them tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. It's worth noting that the portions here are significantly larger about double the usual size in the U.S. and even with just two of us, we could barely finish everything! Overall, the food was excellent, even with the limited options. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely return to Skyview Fusion Cuisine for another meal! read more

Skyview Fusion has got to be one of the best dim sum spots in the area! Each portion was very fresh and generous and left us already planning our next visit. All the classic dim sum dishes we had were all a hit! Notable mentions include the hargow and siu mai. They were incredibly delicious and quite huge in size, but the true star of the show was the BBQ Pork with Rice. It is a MUST try. We have never had anything juicier and tender! (We even ordered another one to go) The Peking Duck was sold out but highly recommended, so it's more reason for us to go back! Only con is the chaotic and longwait time. I've had lots of dim sum in North America as well as HK. I was told to come check out Skyview by a NY friend of mine that is Cantonese and owns/runs a classic Cantonese restaurant. The good: food is authentic and BIG portions! Atmosphere is classic dim sum parlor. Huge dining hall with chandeliers. This is a place for sharing. You can chose what to order while you wait by marking off the menu with pencil. Once seated the menu is ready expedited for kitchen . Your food comes out fairly quickly . Char siu was one of the.m best I've ever had. The price is very reasonable. We pretty much ordered what we wanted , couldn't finish all. 6 dishes came out to roughly $100 Canadian. The bad: lines at peak times can easily stretch an hour + . Service is a bit spotty. You have to wave down someone. The noodle dish with chicken was sloppy/goopy. read more

Always a good time when you come here. The parking lot is very big but parking is tight here so be very careful. Get your number and wait till they call you. The food here is absolutely delicious! I can't rave any more about it than JUST TRY IT! The lunch dim sum is very fulfilling - it's very hong kong style and pretty close to the real thing. They make their siu mais and har gows very big. For dinner, the BBQ pork is to die for! Been going here for over a decade and Skyview's dim sum never disappoints! There's a reason why the restaurant always have a huge lineup for weekend dim sum and it's the quality. Skyview Fusion Cuisine The food quality standard and customer services has plummeted significantly. We had very bad dinner experience this week from the service to the food quality. The seafood soup was spoiled and rotten by appearance alone as the first dish was brought out to us. In particular the crab meat, As the last dish came out. Crab meat with E noodle, the crab meat was totally unacceptable as the crab meat was bad from appearance and smelled. We tried to explain this to the waitress and captain(Amy) and were met with push back."How are we going to know its bad?" Consequently, we asked that this dish should be tried by the waitress of the chef and was ignored and requested an apology. Neither were recognized or responded to. NOT recommended for the $$$, service or food quality. read more

We were at this restaurant for a family birthday dinner. Took 2 tables with a private room. Parking can be a bit busy but there is ample space. Th service had good pacing. We felt everything was made fresh and came out at a reasonable pace. Last thing you want is all the dishes immediately coming out with no space on the table and things getting cold or too slow a service and waiting doing nothing. Food: All the dishes were cooked well. The suckling pig was crispy and moist. Crab balls were freshly deep fried, super hot and fresh. Good crab flavor. Soup came out piping hot with great seafood flavor. Scallops and shrimp were cooked well as well, with the accompanying snow peas having a good crisp. The goose feet had a great sauce, tender. Accompanying vegetables and mushrooms were great too. The fish was very fresh, the meat was super tender. Similarly, the lobster was cooked well though it might have been an older lobster. Rice and noodles were made fresh and flavorful. Price: It is expensive here but worth it for the quality of food and servive. read more

3.5 STARS My mum wanted to go for dimsum during Christmas holidays, and our usual dimsum spot recently closed down. We decided to go to Skyview. My parents and siblings have never been, but I have. Although I made reservations for 12pm, we weren't seated until almost 1pm. The restaurant is always packed and it's somewhat small inside. People would stand by the side of walls where patrons are dining waiting for a table, because the waiting area is already so full of people sitting and standing waiting to get seated. I asked for two tables, they only gave us one or we would've been waiting for a longer time. Food wise was okay, we ordered a lot of dimsum that day since we had 16 people total, 2 toddlers had to sit on their parents lap and two infants had to lay in their stroller (I was one of those parents). Some foods were hit and miss, but the best ones were the siu mai, har gow, and baked pineapple pork bun. Everything else was okay or the flavour profile was a little off or not flavorful enough. We got ham sui gok and the dough was just so thick and very little meat inside. The chiu chow crystal dumplings, again the skin was so thick, I just removed the skin and ate the stuffing inside. Turnip cake was too soft, didn't hold its shape when trying to pick it up and the sticky rice with minced chicken was bland and not flavorful. The menu doesn't offer some of the popular dimsum dishes like others do. Don't think I would come back here for dimsum, but would give it a try for dinner as I've heard good things about it. read more

The Food is HORRIBLE and would NOT recommend wasting money at this place. I just left this place and immediately wrote a review so others will not waste their money here! I was here for dinner with 3 other people. We ordered the peking duck. The duck was cold and not crispy. The wrap was cold as well and the sliced scallions and slice cucumbers looked like it was sitting out for days. The clams were cold and didn't taste fresh. We also ordered fried fish with tofu. No flavor and cold. We had morning glory and again NO flavor and cold. It looked and tasted like it should've been in the garbage. We also ordered steam oysters with red wine. Haha it was oysters in sweet and sour sauce and guess what!!?? It's COLD. Basically the whole dinner was tasteless, NO flavor and COLD. ALL GARBAGE!!
