Totally disappointed. Got a vanilla latte and got banged extra PER PUMP of vanilla syrup. Ended up being $7 for a 12 oz coffee. Limited selection of drinks so they screw you on up charges if you don't get one of their 10 basic coffees. Hard to lose to Starbucks which is becoming the McDonalds of coffee but Peet's was ridiculous in terms of up charges. Server was very nice though. Super convenient location in the heart of the Downtown Pleasant Hill/Crescent Drive shopping center, and right across the street from the movie theater. Fuel for all adventures! I'm a very big fan of Peet's iced vanilla lattes, I'm actually rather NOT versed on their menu because this drink is so tasty it turned me into a major creature of habit. The employees in here are very friendly too, and never seem flustered by a long line or the occasional douchey customer (why does every coffeehouse have to have one, and they're right in front of you in line??) - props! Reviewing this location only, not all Peets as a whole. I'm normally a Starbucks drinker (yeah, yeah, let it go...) because I don't like dark coffee and Peets always tastes too strong for me. But I recently moved to Pleasant Hill and the Starbucks by my house doesn't open early enough for me to go before work. The girls who work in the morning are very nice and always remember my drink. I love that they have Almond milk to help sweeten my latte without adding the extra sugar syrup. I have now switched exclusively to Peets based on this location's customer service and the fact that they fill your cup with liquid instead of foam. customer service note: I forgot my phone on the counter when I picked up my coffee. I only had 2 hands and I had my coffee in one and my baby in the other. I didn't notice my phone was missing until 20 minutes or so later when I was eating dinner down the street. When I ran back to Peets frantic, they told me that one of the employees just walked it down to the place I was just eating with my husband. She recognized my baby in the screensaver and saw us eating while she was having her break. This went above and beyond anything I could have asked for. read more

I am starting to really like Peet's. Their coffee actually tastes like coffee, as opposed to Starbucks which is a lot sweeter. I just wish there were more Peet's locations! This location isn't too crowded around 7:00 AM, which is nice for me so I can get on my way to work. I agree with the other Yelpers about the shape of this Peet's. The first time I walked in, there was a rope in the center of the place and I wasn't quite sure where to order? I thought I'd figured it out, but the second time I came here, they had me order at a different counter. But it's not that big of a deal. read more

Yippee... a line that moves along efficiently. Peet's as a brand is my favourite place to get a coffee in the area. It seems to me that most of the staff have been there for quite a while - definitely a good sign. My only beef with this location is the architecture. People always read the good reviews first!!! This location deserves zero stars, I patronize this business & particularly this location often because I enjoyed my coffee until today 06/17/2022. Allison the manager & one of her team members have a problem serving people of COLOR! I received horrible attitude and customer service, Allison solution was to refund me my money. I didn't know my drink was messed up or wrong until the barista pointed it out. I insisted that it was okay and I'll take my drink as is she continued to toss my drink out and assist I wait again after waiting 15 mins already when their were customers after me that received their beverage/ bakery in 5 mins. I told them I would just come back at a better time and I did two hours later only to receive the same rude service again. This team, I mean the manager Allison clearly needs training again. We all have our days but no one nor people of COLOR deserves to be treated disrespectfully. And when I asked for her regional manager information it was a response as if she didn't care or their would be bo consequence to her actions and attitude. read more

Have been going to this site for years. I love Peet's and wouldn't buy my coffee anywhere else but the recent remodel did not improve the use of the public areas -now with much less room in front of the counter. Maybe better for the barristas but not for the customers. The last 2 lattes I bought there had no foam on top, only steamed milk. I like my foam! Lots of new employees too. They need more training on the foam. Otherwise, the location, parking, and convenience is tops. read more

Ugh... really Peets? This location is HORRIBLE. Ive been a total of 3 times, each time worse then before and the last time was it for me. First, they over charged me 2 drinks, then my husbands drink, which was a Mocha Fredo, was completely melted, barly cold and tasted like straight coffee. Then my coffee, which was just iced coffee, was gritty, warm and tasted burnt. THEN I go to put cream and sugar in it and some ahole unscrewed the lid to the creamer so it spilled ALL OVER the place and the staff just WATCHED and laughed at me while I tried to clean it up. They didnt offer to help me or anything. So 30 napkins later I try my coffee and there was just no saving it so I threw it away. As much ads I LOVE Peets, I will NEVER go back to this location. read more

This will be simple. Between Peets and Starbucks, Peets wins by a landslide. I like the coffee and the quality. The WC locations is GREAT as they are super friendly. However, this PH location is terrible. The coffee is still good, but the customer service is horrific. All but 2 people (a woman, I'm not sure her name and Chris) are awful. Chris gets 5 stars for service. Always friendly, always smiling no matter how long the line is. The other girls, forget it. They clearly think they're much cooler than the customers and the also seem to hate their job. I understand the service industry and realize that it can be frustrating, especially when the patrons never stop coming in, but if Starbucks people can smile, so can they. No lie, other than the two employees mentioned, they have NEVER smiled. But, it's not just smiling. I won't give specific examples of their rudeness because I don't want to publicly call them out, but they are just plain cantankerous. Before I get worked up writing this, I'll stop, since I think my case is clear. 4 stars for the coffee, 1 star for service (because you make the coffee, albeit with a scowl), and 0 stars for the poor attitude. That is 1.666 which makes sense, as 666 is the sign of the devil. I have to round down since service (to me) is everything and I can't give two stars. Peet's is like Starbucks but the coffee is stronger and they are not evil. Also, I like how they don't try to re name teas that already have names like Starbucks (ie decaf green tea is called decaf green tea, not Calm). AND no Alanis Morissette cd's for sale by the register. The coffee is great and the staff is nice. What is NOT COOL is stopping here at 6am to grab your java before heading down 680 to I5 for a long trek and using their bathroom with NO Changing Station! They have a huge bathroom stall (unisex) and nowhere to change your baby. Again, here is the financial implication for a business.. My husband and I religiously drink Peet's. We buy the beans to grind ourselves and drive across 3 cities to get Peet's coffee when we want a hot cup. But no longer. Peet's doesn't care enough about my mama dollars I guess because if they did they would make it acceptable to bring my child with me. Very disappointing from a major chain. As a patron of this Peet's Location for nearly three years, I have to say I'm surprised it has such a low rating! Every visit I've been treated extremely well (especially when the owner/DM is in) my drinks are always promptly made. There is a bit of employee turnover but all new team members seem to be fast learners! Love the recent samples they've been setting out. Makes it easier to try and fall in love with new coffees and treats. I love Pleasant Hill Peet's! I'll miss them greatly while in WA. read more

Coffee at Peet's is always great! But today I met a young lady by the name of Avianna and she is superb! Polite, courteous and engaging. Though she was new to the job her maturity shined through as the shift manager was condescending to her. This didn't phase her a bit and she kept on working. I stop in here occasionally for a Chai Latte or Javiva -- but usually don't stay due to the lack of table space/seating. Friendly baristas if they're not distracted. One time, someone even gave me a tip on which size I should order to fit my own mug I had brought after their co-worker had chosen it for me (10 cent discount, by the way!) Everything seems pretty clean, and I've always felt welcomed being here. Short to average lines tend to be the norm. They do have a restroom key, but only one though. I visit this peete's location 2-3times a week for my morning "pick-me-up" depending on the day/time it can get really busy, but because they are usually quick and efficient the line doesn't bother me. I came in today and ordered an iced vanilla latte which was made timely, once my name and order was called out to me I realized I forgot to mention I needed soy. This morning I was willing to pay twice cause it was my mistake. I went back to the counter to reorder and the very sweet Erin asked what was wrong w/my drink I told her I needed soy, but it was my fault for forgetting to ask. She waved her hand like "no big deal" asked for my name a placed a new order on the house. This level of kindness makes the day go smoother! I'm giving 4 stars cause the barista seemed like she'd rather be anywhere other than where she was. read more

I love this place. (way better than the 'bucks!) The lattes are always delicious and the staff friendly. One time I asked about the nutrition content in a scone and the girl took the time to go dig up the info for me and was very amiable about it and didn't seemed put off at all. I loved that! They get pretty busy at times though, so occasionally the line is long and you have to wait a bit for that latte, but they keep it flowing pretty well. The other thing is that the parking can be a bit of a bear sometimes. read more

I don't come here often since I am not a coffee drinker. I have been here twice in the past month though, for tea. The first time, I bought a box of tea (Hibiscus C - very flavorful) and today I got a jasmine lime tea cooler. I usually try not to drink sweetened beverages, but their tea cooler is not overly sweet and incredibly delicious and refreshing. Hey, it's NYE, I can treat myself, right? This place is consistently great. Been coming here many, many years and it's always drama free and pleasant. Out of a decade + I've seen drinks made wrong, mine made wrong only a minuscule amount of times. It's handled well and over in a snap -NEXT in line! At 8:am there's always a line. I love Peet's coffee, that dark roast with the intense flavor and I swear an extra jolt of caffeine is in it because it always amps me up like no other coffee. Why only 3 stars? I have to agree with a lot of people who reviewed this store. The pace is slower than normal, the staff seems to not always know what they are doing and when I say it does not taste like it always does the staff should try to explain why? Nope they just tell me they made it correctly. I even asked "Oh, do you guys use a different type for the espresso each day?" when they told me I was wrong about the taste. The girl said "No we use the same one each day." Wrong!! Wrong!! No, you use a rotation of different coffees. I went out to my car and started to drink my iced latte but I started to get angry I had just spent almost $4 for a drink that was not to my liking. It tasted weak. Peet's never tastes weak. They managed to pull my 1 star experience to a 3 star by the time I left. I walked back in and asked they put more shots in it. I had my money out to pay for those shots. Two beautiful, black shots were poured in, the guy apologize, refused my money, and gave me a card for a free drink next time I come in. He saw what the girl had said to me and realized I was not happy. Thank you nice man! I know they can do nothing with the parking situation, nor the size of their store, where you have to dance with other customers while waiting for your drink order, however, they could make certain their staff is working at 100%. read more

I needed coffee grounds for my garden and called few locations and they saved them for me. By end of the day I had 4 large bags of used coffee grounds. They even helped me with them into my car. Love this place & coffee but this branch needs a extensive course in customer service. I have been going for about a month now & all staff except for 1 guy are rude! It's time I take my business elsewhere when I'm standing in line hoping the nice guy will take my order. The Barista (blonde girl) ripped me a new one when they made me the wrong drink which come to find out is happening because of the new computer systems they have. I called and asked to speak to the manager and was told she was on vacation so I said I'd call back & was told she was on a LONG vacation. So I called the WC store and asked to have the district manager call me or email which never happened. Line out the door. Not enough staff. If the store is short staff they need to call in others. 20 minutes to wait to be served and get a coffee is somewhat not cool. Staff are exceptionally nice and feeling the pressure. Store is spotlessly clean. In situations like this please put experienced FAST staff on as barista and stop apologising for a long line. read more
