The Lemonade was great after a day outside in the sun. I paired it with the Shortbread cookie which was a heavy brick style cookie that was somewhat dry... but alas, I couldn't stop eating it anyways, so it couldn't have been that bad. A little background... I have always been a Starbucks goer. I mean there are at least 10 (counting the two Safeways) in Livermore. If you're on the road and want a coffee, there is almost always a Starbucks somewhere along the freeway. I think it has always been more about convenience than taste. I didn't even know there was a Peet's in Livermore until recently. I had been to Peet's in other locations and always liked their coffee. They don't make their foo-foo drinks as tasty as Starbucks but the real coffee is much better at Peet's. This Peet's is the best I have been to so far. It's nice and new inside. Quite roomy although it does get busy at times. My drink always comes out great. Everyone seems genuinely nice. Not to mention, they have the cutest, sweetest, little blonde barista that you will ever meet. I don't think I will ever go anywhere else in Livermore for my coffee fix. I was going to dock them a star for charging extra for soy milk like most places do. However, they are the only chain that I know of where you can get a Vegan treat to go with your coffee. That's like gold out here in cowpoke land. So they earn their full five stars. read more

I used to work at Starbuck's. I know I know Boo Hiss, get over it. It was awful, I wont set foot in there even if I'm dying of thirst. That place is funky and always smells of bad milk and wet shoes. But Peet's lovely Peet's has seriously saved the world from a caffeine deprived me. I usually frequent Peet's in the morning and always receive my small caramel latte with great anticipation. (I don't know why the small caramel latte but I think the flavor espresso balances out the sweetness and the whole milk rounds out the entire thing.) I can expect great coffee, not too much conversation, enough time to check out the community board before grabbing my drink, and a fantastic cream currant scone. To those who have had a bad experience I implore you to try again or at least have your drink remade! If not, then just consider your option across the street at my former place of employment... or try Panama bay, but bring cash. read more

Peet's in Pinole is by far my favorite coffee shop. The coffee is tasty, charged, and hot. This is especially nice on my way to work in the morning on cold mornings, since it's right off the freeway. I like it that they have a nice, well-stocked add-on bar, with whole, low fat, soy, and half & half milks. Plus, they have nutmeg, cinnamon, and cocoa powder. On top of that, they have brown and white sugars, honey, and syrup. They have quality pastries, and recently added some breakfast sandwiches. read more

I enjoy this Peet's Coffee for breakfast on weekends. The hot mochas are pretty good. It also gets crowded, which I enjoy. The inside is not cozy but they also have outside tables. The internet connection is kind of slow. The staff is friendly but should take care of cleaning up the tables more often. It gets sticky at the end of the day. read more

A friendly efficient neighborhood coffee house. I think whether you prefer Peet's or Starbucks amounts to a personal preference. I have a fondness for Peet's for being a local brand and a start-up I worked for many years ago always stocked Peet's for the late night and early morning hours. I didn't know that they actually supplied the beans to Starbucks for the first year of that operation in Seattle until I read the Wiki article. Internet cafes all seem more or less the same and I think Peet's retains more of the hometown feeling than the industrial scale Starbucks. read more

Today, I spilled latte on the counter by accident. I want to share what happened next. The splashes got on a sleeve of the young man standing next to me, waiting for his drink, on the counter, on the floor, and around the counter, besides my clothes. Then, the pretty barista gracefully and quickly handed me paper towels, which I offered to the man next to me right away. And she asked if he and I would be alright and told me not to worry about it. She almost single-handedly took care of it with no sign of impatience. The house gave me another fresh cup of latte, and the very nice young man said not to worry about it. This Peet's makes an excellent Chai Tea Latte. We also buy whole beans from this Peets to make a drip coffee at home. I prefer stronger more flavorful coffee and prefer Peet's to Starbucks anyday. I also like that Peet's is a Northern California based company, we should always support our own when possible. :) read more

Don't get me wrong, I am a committed Peetnik. I frequent buy ground beans at this location. Lately service has been really poor. Today I walked in, there were two people behind the counter and two people waiting in line. Neither counter person was waiting on the line. A few minutes later the little red head decided to wait on people. So 10 minutes in I finally got to order beans. Usually am a fan of Pete's, but recently had a terrible experience. I ordered my drink in a lingo that they didn't quite understand, which is totally fine seeing that every coffee shop is different. Kindly tried to explain to them previously how I've had it there before, and everything went fine. Only then to sit down for 10 minutes only to hear the workers very loudly bashing myself, and how what I ordered in being incorrect. Excuse me, wait until I leave to talk about me. Every morning, in my zombie state, I enter the realm of Peet's. Oftentimes, I have no idea how I even get there. My car must know the way on its own. Even though it took a few minutes, when we got to the front, Rich was incredibly pleasant and made the wait well worth it! Coffee was good but the baristas had a poor attitude. Overall horrible experience. I attempted to ask for the restroom code, before I was able to finish asking the barista yelled out the code to me. I just happen to be in Livermore today and was in dire need of some Peets Coffee. [: Medium Iced Latte! However, it was sooo not what I was expecting. Honestly, the only great thing about this specific shop is that it had freaking air conditioning...and it looked pretty nice. The coffee? WHACK. No foam on top! So the guy made some foam, but eek. My review is about the product not the service and I want to make it clear from the start. I am into good quality loose leaf tea for many years, not coffee. So those who are coffee lovers, can skip this review. For many years Peets was my FAVORITE place to hang out with book, study for exams, business meetings etc. With pot of very good loose leaf green tea #1 reason - great quality loose leaf teas, combined with Wifi option and pleasant setting. Yesterday I came by as usually and ordered my favorite "Dragon Well" green tea. I want to say that over years I introduced about 20 of my friends to good tea, how to drink it etc. (Which very often is a challenge even for people who work in Peets and suppose to be trained in this properly). So the answer was: sorry we just switch to Mighty Leaf brand and now we have almost the same tea but from Mighty Leaf. First of all I felt little bit offended by this statement. It would be tha same as saying: we have Budweiser in can but t tastes almost the same as draft German beer, if you know what I mean. Assuming right away that your customer is stupid is not nice, for starter. Yeah, and I know very well difference between tea they used to carry and freaking Mighty Leaf. Are you kidding me??? Eventually they found for me left overs they had Kuan Yin tea (another good grean tea). It smoothed my disappointment. This morning I am back to give it last shot before Peets lost me as a customer (and I think many lovers like me as well - very soon, too). I was told that they now have only Mighty Leaf. I decided to try black tea. That is the only one I could accept in Starbucks when Peets was not nearby, when I travel. The guy put one tiny bag of Mighty Leaf Earl Grey (which is twice less that they used to put in a cup before for the same price, and same compare to Starbucks). The taste was cheap as all Mighty Leaf "famous tea" kinds. The only nice part about Migjty Leaf is a cute bag. But not I am not paying for cute bags, sorry. This is unfortunate, but this is my last time in Peets after so many visits over the years, and of course I will share my experience with my friends. So guys, who made this genius marketing decision - stupid decision, HUGE mistake. I guarantee you will keep on loosing customers like me. Well I will now switch to Starbucks (they have great Earl Grey) and for green tea- Chinese tea rooms of course when I am close to them. Good luck with business Peets! read more
