Went to Peet's today for a coffee and when I looked into the pastry case I was shocked at the amount of flies leisurely walking on the pastries. I asked the worker if they served customers from the case and was told yes - that is a huge health hazard! Flies carry E. coli and Salmonella for starters. There were several babies - which means there are maggots somewhere in the store. There were also a few adult flies. I was told someone already complained to the manager but nothing was done. There was no rush to clean out the space or clear away the flies. I have been to many coffee shops, and I understand that a random fly will sometimes make it into a case and get shooed out, but this was beyond unacceptable. I saw a fly walk into the crevice of a scone and completely disappear! Peet's should take a more proactive approach on dealing with this problem before someone gets sick. I have been to this store over the years and have never seen this before - but their lack of attention to the situation and leaving food out for customers to purchase is earning them a 1 star. read more

Stopped here on a road trip as a loyal Peet's fan, but this location was a bit of a letdown. We came understanding that a busy coffee shop requires some patience. We waited nearly 35-40 minutes after ordering for 3 separate drinks and 1 sandwich. The sandwich was forgotten--and even though some staff saw us waiting, nothing happened till my friend politely reminded an employee. Simple mistake. When it finally came out, it was soggy and cold. I truly hope this was just an off day, but it was definitely disappointing. read more

Do not come here if you're in a rush! I always wait 15+ minutes at this Peet's. This store always seems to be understaffed. The last few times I've visited, my latte was barely warm. Mobile ordering isn't an option (at least not today 12/15/22). The staff are always nice and friendly and this is a convenient location in downtown Livermore. Great place to visit while one meanders downtown. As it is at the main intersection, parking is at a premium. With the restaurants nearby and the great weather almost year round, a visit here is always great. There is a lot of table seating inside with a bar near the window for seating as well. Located next to a little corner park, the outside tables and umbrella are along the greenery which keeps things cooler. The fountain across the street really add to the relaxed atmosphere. Loving the new Summer Tea Shakers. Favorite is the strawberry lemon with iced green tea! read more

Our preferred stop for a quick pick-me-up in downtown Livermore. During COVID, there is no indoor seating and the bathrooms are closed. But the selection and service remain as good as ever. The absolute worst location. I love Peet's! I had the worst customer service at the Peet's location in Livermore. I'm a fan of Peet's and I drink it ever day. I ordered my drinks this afternoon. I wait 20 minutes. I finally go up and ask if my drink was coming. The two guys say oh yes it's coming. I'm standing there waiting as I see 10 more drinks being made. I ask the guys again, who are so slow at what they are doing and they finally admit that my order was not made or maybe someone picked it up. They saw me standing there for 35 minutes. One guy says do you want your drinks or a refund. I said I almost waited 40 minutes already; I want my drink. I should've asked for both! No one apologized, no one offered a discount, just rude customer service. I will not be back. These guys don't know what they are doing. They were slow! I will not be back at this location. Pete's Coffee has always been my favorite GO-TO coffee. And my wife and I love to be able to see inside or out on the patio watching Livermore go by!!! Service is always good and fast even when it looks very busy. They make sure that they are all doing what is needed for a fast and good cup of coffee! This Peet's location is the worst location! They have the worst service. I came in to order a large hot matcha latte to go and when I got home I opened the cup and it was literally half way! If I wanted to order a medium I would have! They shortened me half a cup of matcha! How annoying! I called to tell someone and a guy answered and asked me to hold for a minute so I said "ok" ... he literally left me on the phone for 15 minutes and I just hung up the phone! Can you imagine the customers that are trying to call Peet's and have a busy signal for 15 minutes?! Ah, Peet's, we meet again. Yesterday was grading. Today is reading prep. Glad I finally discovered being here is conducive to my focusing upon my 2nd (& 3rd & 4th) job. If I gotta work almost 24/7, at least some of it I can do here! Enjoying yet another vegan bfast sandwich and almond milk iced caramel macchiato. While Starbucks is a quick walk from my apt and convenient to my 5 day week teaching job, I prefer Peet's coffee - was less acidic and doesn't upset my stomach. Thoroughly unimpressed. I went to Peets a lot from 2004-2010ish in Castro Valley mostly. CV had a consistent team, great lattes and amazing freddos (now called Frappes or Javiva? I don't know) This store, while nice, is not the quality Peets I remember. I have tried this Peets maybe 3 times in 2 years. Today I asked for a Chocolate and Carmel Swirl Frappe decaf. I had a gift card but a remainder of $1 something. The guy taking my order was a bit distracting, he seemed rushed or maybe just someone who is fidgety, either way, I didn't feel like I had time for my Peets app to load so paid the remainder with my card. The drink was done fairly quickly but looked nothing like what I had expected. It wasn't very thick or blended, looked more like a cold latte. There was also no whipped cream and not much chocolate or Carmel. I told him, "In the past when I have ordered this it has been thicker." He took it and remade it, it was thicker with more ice. I took a sip or two and doubled back to ensure it was decaf, it was not. So a new new drink was made but the other guy. The final presentation looked okay and I was offered whipped cream for the first time in the visit. Unfortunately, it tasted like too much syrup. I was under the impression this drink is milk, ice, coffee, chocolate & Carmel sauce. Either way, it was just unpalatable and rather than be even more outspoken I just ended up tossing it. Maybe it is time to try the local Mom and Pop coffee houses such as Panama Bay, or make this drink from home. Either way, I would not recommend this location. read more

Impressively awful customer service. Did not listen to a single request and made us feel bad for asking for coffee. Literally gave us the exact opposite of what we asked for across the board. We ordered for sugar free unsweetened and they added so much syrup the coffee was hard to taste. It caused my fiancés diabetes to sky rocket I am not sure what was the baristas problem, the head phones being to loud around her neck to hear, maybe septum nose ring may have been overly infected, she was playing with it the whole time. It was an extremely off putting experience and know it is not a reflection of the standards Peet's has built its business model from and hope they educate their employees on the dangers of allergies and diabetes. read more

Hi, I come to this peet's every day early in the morning around 7-8ish.. I always order the same thing. I always order ahead on my phone. Today I received my drink at 10:25 when it was supposed to be due at 10:09. This is the 3rd time.. I don't mind the wait, what is extremely unprofessional is that I asked the employee that was making my drink what took so long this time.. She said ( referring to the negligent STAFF) they INTENTIONALLY SKIPPED MY DRINK .. I don't know if the loose leaf tea is that hard to make or if they just don't want to service me. I have never even exchanged words with anybody so I don't see how that could be the case.. In addition, presentation does matter at any establishment. Nobody wants to beard hair flying in their coffee .. They always look like they just rolled out of bed.. What's on the inside usually reflects on the outside. So I'm not surprised by their behavior. Leaving this review here and not spending any more money at this location.. I go there every morning.. smh looking at these reviews the person that's monitoring this obviously needs to make some changes.. You guys might be wondering "what about all the other times they made your Tea, right"? Those times my tea was sat out before I got there. The three times it was late was when I had arrived before the tea was finished. We are tried-and-true Peetniks... have been since 1970. We buy ground coffee once a week. You do not want us out-and-about without it. Service at this location is the consistently the best we have had here in the valley. Friendly, grind is correct, and we are on our way. Great customer service! Rich made good conversation while not holding up the line, and made sure he had my order just right. Went here with my girlfriend on multiple occasions, and her drink has been fantastic each time. I also really appreciate the lighting and the music, the windows that see into downtown Livermore are very nice and they have multiple styles of music that they play, I personally like the jazz the most, but no matter what the music they're playing is, it always contributes to the great coffee and the great environment. read more

These folks made my day. I had come in to grab some drinks and breakfast for myself and my wife while we work our booth, J-Boss Bakery, at the farmers market. My visit was great and the staff was friendly but as I started drinking my mocha at our booth, I realized my drink was made incorrectly and unfortunately wasn't able to continue drinking it due to my food sensitivity. Due to still being in the area, I decided to go back and see if they could remake my drink. After explaining the situation to them, the staff was so incredibly kind and apologetic, more than any coffee shop I've been to (this situation happens quite often in general). I've asked some coffee shops to remake drinks for me and some would have the audacity to ask if I was sure it was made incorrectly or even call me a liar. Not here. There was no judgment, no questions asked, and they remade my drink perfectly. As someone who's been a barista at multiple establishments including Peet's, I understand mistakes can happen especially in a rush. This is my go to spot for coffee because I work within walking distance. Im here several times a week to do coffee runs for others at work, so it pains me to say that as of late the coffee/ espresso we've received has not be good. Today was the tipping point. Dont misunderstand my post because the staff and everyone who works there is friendly and accommodating when placing 4+ orders at a tine. Never have had an issue with service ever. The iced vanilla latte ordered tasted like dirty water, another said their latte didnt have any flavor like there was too much water because it didnt taste like milk. A couple of other associates at work said recently it's been "off". Hopefully, it was just recently. Maybe collectively our taste has changed. Or we are all in need of a Peet's detox. First off let me say I like Peet's Coffee . I'm not sure how the Livermore store stays in business. If you plan on driving there don't! It's an OK walk up situation, but parking is horrible and very limited. We had a gift card from the holidays and decided to patronize this store. We went in expecting a pleasant time, enjoying our coffee and conversation,what we experienced was the exact opposite. The coffee was good as always, and the wait was not terrible. What followed sent us out the door in a very short amount of time. The "background" music was contemporary rock, and so loud that I'm sure the young barista's and workers enjoyed it, but it didn't allow for any type of conversation without yelling across a very small table. When I asked if they could turn it down or change the style of music, the answer was no. It was so irritating that we left and took our coffee outside. I'm not sure if this is their business plan, but maybe instead of having a dining area where most people are encouraged to congregate and converse, They should try a walk up window. like I said, not sure how they stay in business, but I won't be going back. read more

I love Peet's! I was nearby at the Sunday Farmers market and I couldn't resist an Iced brew coffee. My new fave is to add a pump of lavender syrup and a splash of almond milk. Perfect on a warm day. My friend and I got drinks here after lunch recently. It was just okay. Because of the Covid rules, they only were taking credit cards or the Peet's app. Also their bathrooms were closed which was annoying. I got my drink (iced chai latte with soy) pretty fast. A nice break from Starbucks, that's for sure. I was so glad when they opened because Livermore seemed to be dominated by the big-chain coffee giant, Starbucks, for the longest time. Not that there is anything wrong with Starbucks, I just prefer Peet's anyday! Peet's has excellent Jasmine tea & Limeade, my new favorite go-to drink at the moment! Of course you can't really go wrong with their tea & citrus mixed drinks, because they seem to balance the citrus and the tea perfectly! Not to mention the staff is always super nice. I love this place. I can't believe I have not reviewed them before now. This is our family's "go to" place for drinks. And I also buy my teaching assistants gift certificates from Peet's- because I know they will get amazing service and a great product. This morning I had a chai freddo, and my daughter had the lime jasmine tea. Great service, delicious drinks, and they had a T-shirt on sale that caught my daughter's eye. Maybe this is a practical joke, which I would be all for. Except, when I asked for my hot drink today the smart ass barista said, "Oh, well you ordered that cold brew, but I can remake it free of charge."
