Wow, I still remember visiting their Sacramento location back in 2014 when I was a student! I instantly recognized their fern logo when I walked into their new Livermore location. I love the bar seating looking out the window and their cozier couch seating for larger parties. It's the perfect place to work from; I'm always on the hunt! I came on a hot day and the AC was blasting, bless them. The staff was super friendly, and I would've chatted with them more about their grand opening if it weren't for a few urgent emails I had to get to. A barista got an espresso shot done the way she wanted and she was so excited, I wanted to celebrate with her lol! Loved the vibes here. They also have a water pitcher if you need a water refill. Honeycomb Latte ($6.95): I got this iced and it wasn't too sweet! It had cinnamon in it, if you're into or not into that. I would try it again hot! Their blended drinks sound fun as well as their sourdough toast menu. I will be back!! read more

Nice place! Stopped by for the first time & tried the coconut chai. Unfortunately I was not a fan. It was overly sweetened. I will attempt to give them another try & ask if they can adjust the sweetness level. I admit I'm a coffee snob. I compare every coffee to "Story Coffee" in Livermore which is the gold standard in the Bay Area. Today's Americano that I ordered at Chocolate Fish (Large with an extra shot, no milk no sweetener, no syrup of any kind) was blah and unremarkable. The interior of their shop was nice and clean. Childish "dollhouse" decorations throughout. Very small selection of baked goods that I could see. I don't see myself returning. read more

Place pretty cute super chill vibe and lots windows allows a lot of sun go through which I like. Location they in a nice area not crazy busy traffic Service was great my order came out fairly quick. As for matcha honestly I did not like, it tasted like water really bad. Salty Carmel Mocha was good. Quiet at 8am on a Sunday but quickly got busy. In the Nob Hill plaza a few doors down from the donut shop. Got two lattes and a chocolate fish bar. Good coffee, chocolatey undertones. Loved the fish late art. Chocolate was average milk chocolate. Feels like they could use some patio furniture but seems like they're not quite done building the space out yet. So excited to see a new coffee shop in this area! The girls working here were all so nice and helpful. Even coming on a Tuesday at around 11am, there were many tables already filled with people chatting or on their laptops. I got an iced latte with vanilla syrup (which cost an extra 80¢). In terms of pricing, it's nothing crazy when compared to coffee shops in the area. But with tip, my coffee still ended up being over $8, which hurts. I was so excited to see a Chocolate Fish location in the Bay Area, but unfortunately this location is nowhere near the quality of the cafes in Sacramento. I used to frequent the original East Sacramento location all the time when I lived in the area, and their drinks were consistently well balanced and the customer service was always friendly and pleasant. At this Livermore location, I got an iced latte and the ratio of milk to espresso was super off, creating a milky and watered down drink. I hope the management can improve their barista training for this location, but until then, I won't be returning. read more

As a choco/coacoa[kuhkow] fave and White Tea person[Loose Leaf] teas are HERE with no Pescado [fish,] except chocolate flat fishes up by register for sale. Lech [milk] and dark. Let's talk about their coffee, beans are gathered to their main Roaster in Sacramento and sent out to their cafes. Unique flavored drinks change with seasons too. Been to x2 of the Sacramento locations and now one in Modesto too. Who would drink a Chocolate Fish drink? No...no Fish Sauce in the coffees either! Some would say run of h our mill coffee shoppes, but Nah, POV, They DO have a manual Mill [grinder] for sale, you can use for spices too, tall metal skinny canister know on top type. For Sale with espresso roast, and some interesting other south American roast blends and loose leaf tea for sale as well. Cute knick snacks abound. The toast is sourdough a d got us by surprise. The pastries are brought in from SF's City Bakery, years back Peet's used to utilize them too. Not too many choices three cookies nice a d thick, but keeping in mind that this location has only been open since May 11 as of this writ. So we'll so far. All Staff that we encounter are well trained a d ready to please your palates for their beverages a d treats including ava toast. Next visit, we did however have interesting EVOO toast points a d a dry spice nut seed mixture called. Dukkah. It's seems exception abd parts of the.middle east.and is not related to.another called Zutaar.Very different which they do not carry. It was on a serving tray and was so so tasty. Maybe next time they'll use acme or upgraded sourdough bread slices instead of house sliced bread from grocer, let down. Downtown Le Presse uses quality bread for their Ava Toast. Just a suggestion for better holding up the dip and avacado and banana. Will try the supreme next time. Came for first time today. Greeted when we arrived around 1245. Most tables full so we sat at bar area. No seating outside which they could use for sure if they add shade. We ordered 2 ice mocha's which my wife liked hers but mine tasted more like chocolate milk. Is that what they should taste like maybe? I am just used to more of a coffee taste. Will give a try again. I was out of town with my boyfriend looking for a new coffee spot to try and this place was only a few minutes from us and figured we would give it a try. I'm always up to try something new. We walked in about 10 am and it was quiet. There were two baristas behind the counter, apparently too busy to greet their guests as they walk in. The was already strike 1. After a few minutes of looking over the menu we finally decided which drinks we wanted to try, the salted caramel captain, only to be told they just ran out. Strike 2. I ended up with an iced white mocha and the honeycomb latte, along with the almond toast with the works. The toast was the only thing I enjoyed this morning and would recommend. Unfortunately the lattes were bland and watered down; after a few sips went straight to the trash. Well it was worth a try, onto the next coffee shop. read more

Hubby and I stopped here for an early Sunday morning breakfast and we were not disappointed!! The place is really nice! Super clean and decorated well and the selection of coffee, tea and food was perfect for a coffee shop date. Just as good as the one in Sacramento. Coffee has good flavor and texture. The opened a few days before I came so they are still working out some of the logistics. The shop is pretty spacious and has a good amount of seating. Have not tried the prepared food yet but the pastries were pretty good. read more

I have to give this three stars because the iced latte is so milky. The espresso to milk ratio is so off it just taste like you're drinking milk. I've also noticed this with all of their other customer pictures, but I wanted to give it a try for myself. It's a very cute coffee shop, but I'd prefer to go to Panama for a good iced latte. I really hope the owner read this and change this up because the ambience is so nice and I love the location but it's just not worth six dollars for a cup of milk. I'm so disappointed!! read more

To start, there was a very long wait for my beverage when the cafe was slow and only 2 people ahead of me. I waited about 10 minutes. I ordered a small hot mocha ($6.95!) and while it taste good, it was so foamy there was hardly any milk in the cup. It was like a foamy chocolate cappuccino. I ordered what I believe is the White Mocha which was genuinely delicious. It had cardamom as a part of the flavor and that's my favorite! When I went, the building itself had no music playing in the background which made the environment feel a little sterile and somewhat unwelcoming. Not sure if it's from the time of day I was there or just a choice, but I do think music really brightens up an environment! Finally, only one size for iced drinks and it's 16 ounces. I think most people prefer that size, so it could just be a "me" thing but I prefer 20 or even 24 ounces. I'll pay for a bigger size, I'm a thirsty guy. read more

I came in hoping there would be some specialty chocolate coffees, considering the name, but they only had regular mocha available. Got the honeycomb latte which ended up tasting like milk more than anything and for some reason barely had any ice in it even though I never specified light ice. It also just had honey sitting at the bottom of the cup which wasn't my favorite. Dont know if I would come back considering it's like any other coffee shop in town. The place is super cute and cozy , I ordered an iced matcha which doesn't come sweet to my understanding so I asked for it to be sweetened with honey which was an additional charge to an already over $7 matcha... asked for oat milk which was an additional charge, not really surprised that was extra as it usually is at most coffee shops, I paid 10.00 for a matcha.... A bit overpriced for what I got, didn't have a matcha taste , I didn't even bother drinking it honestly, I probably won't be back as there are much better options in town !
