Mokulele Farms 100% Kona Coffee - lemon, orange, lilikoi marmalade

    Mokulele Farms 100% Kona Coffee

    (3 reviews)

I recently discovered one of the Bay Area's best kept secrets. 100% Kona Coffee, right here in our…read moreown backyard. I'm talking about Mokulele Farms Kona Coffee. Who are they? Quite simply, they are a husband and wife team who splits their time between the Big Island of Hawaii and Pleasanton. They own a small farm in Kona, complete with acres of coffee trees that grow from volcanic rock, producing coffee that has been certified as 100% Kona (meaning it is not blended with other types of coffee beans). After the coffee is grown, picked, roasted and packaged, they bring it to Pleasanton where they sell it at the local farmers' market and other events. That's where we become the winners. Having the chance to purchase a half-pound or one-pound bag of this amazing whole bean coffee, direct from the farmers is extremely rare on the mainland. But that's exactly what you get when you buy from Mokulele Farms. The coffee itself has a wonderful aroma that is only outdone by its smooth taste and rich flavor. Oh, and by the way. They also sell wonduful tasting, fresh macadamia nuts, that are also grown on their farm in Kona. These macadamias are full of natural flavor and are even bigger than the over-roasted, salty ones that you find in the supermarket. I also found out that Mokulele Farms sells their products online through their website. So if you can't get out to the farmers' market, you can order right from home. Don't be fulled by the other so-called Kona Coffee's out there. Mokulele Farms 100% Kona Coffee is certified as such and you will find that every drop of this amazing coffee is well-worth every cent that you pay for it.

What a surprise…read morethat one of the gifts they were giving away on the plane, via the mileage game they play, was a pound of her own Mokulele Farms coffee. My wife was hooked. I have been purchasing this wonderful delight from Debbie, which will respond personally via email, for the last 3 years. I'm very happy and pleased with the service but moreover, the product. I hope they don't get too big and outgrow the personalized serve and next door neighbor feel.

I came here to try their most popular menu: Himalayan Chiya (hot) w/ almond milk- less sweet, not too much spice, yet comforting to drink since I had a dry throat earlier. Frankie Wrap in Paneer- flaky Himalayan wrap with paneer bits, and vegetables paired with the green sauce, which was my favorite. Nimki- it's like salted pita chips that I recommend dipping it in Chai Chocolate Jaggery Cookie- chocolate chip cookie with brown sugar topping- it was too sweet that I had to take some brown sugar away unless paired well with plain hot chai If you don't want to deal with people while working/studying, come from noon to 3 pm. So relaxing to sit and dine inside by myself. I would recommend trying their Momo next time.

The interior was bright, modern, and comfortable. Soft ethnic music played in the background. There were several smaller tables as well as a central seating area with cozy armchairs and a low table next to a welcoming wall filled with games and books to borrow at leisure. Definitely recommended!

Our recent visits have been to return for the avocado smoothie, which is not a common drink offering at Boba places, and popcorn chicken. The avocado smoothie is okay and not the best, however, it will do given none of the nearby places offer this drink. But the real winner is their popcorn chicken which comes with a decently sized-portion and the batter is perfect in amount and flavor. We don't particularly like our food spicy, so we always request for them to not add additional pepper sprinkled on top. That makes it perfect for us. However, if you like your food more spicy, definitely let them know. The only way to do this is if you order directly through a cashier or you somehow get their attention before they finish your order. Otherwise, ordering through the kiosk does not allow you to input any special requests. Service is not particularly fast especially when they get bombarded by the students from the middle schools and high school in the afternoon. I have yet to try their milk tea, but I haven't come to want to take the chance given one of my favorites is not that far of a walk from Honi-Bear. In any case, the location is great in the heart of downtown to treat ourselves to some drinks and snacks!

I was immediately drawn to the guava matcha, as that is definitely a flavor that I've never had before, and I was very intrigued. It turned out to be the perfect refreshing choice on a warm March afternoon. The staff were friendly, and you can either order on the kiosks or with a staff member. We chose to order via the kiosks. Our drinks were made in what seemed like seconds. However, they were still extremely good quality and the guava puree was delicious. The matcha was excellent, and very smooth. I asked for light ice and they delivered. I did not get a chance to try my friend's drink but she said it was her new favorite tea shop, and that she would be back. I will also be back for sure, since I'm in the area relatively often. Junbi has a ton of unique drinks even for those who aren't matcha lovers, so you are bound to find a drink for your palate.
