I'm a PSL fan, but this Peet's drink is taking pumpkin flavored coffee to a whole new level. Sorry Sbux, but I think I've found a new love. This drink is perfect for dark chocolate or mocha lovers who want a hint of pumpkin. The sweetness was just enough and the whipped cream with cinnamon on top was sooo good. I came into this location on my way to work, there was a bit of a line, but nothing too crazy. I was in and out in about 5min. I had my small dog with me at my seat. Out of nowhere, one of the girls who work there ( a barista) yelled from across the room, in front of other customers, that dogs are not allowed and that I "should know that". She said it with the most atrocious attitude. For me, it's not about what you say but how you say it. Had she approached me at my table and let me know in a more discrete manner, I would of course understand. I of course approached her and gave her a quick training on proper etiquette and customer service, because she is probably not receiving that from her manager or manners from her parents. I see by other reviews there is a customer service problem at this location. With so many coffee place options, I'll go elsewhere rather than deal with this rude arrogant barista with a power trip. It's a Peet's. It's a Peet's in Irvine. It's a Peet's in Irvine in a cookie cutter shopping plaza. Not very much seating inside and it's pretty friggin cold every time I go. The "line" is something you sort of figure out or make up as you walk in. Cream and sugar island is SMALL and often fairly dirty. Employees are friendly and they have been, for me at least, accurate with orders. Prep time is a bit longer than other Peet's locations but that's okay because you don't come here when you're pressed for time. This is not a fast paced atmosphere. You come here for a pleasant sit outside in the patio area, take your sips slowly, and enjoy the manicured illusion that is the greenery of Irvine. Enjoy! read more

My favorite coffee place in Irvine, so far. I love that this place gives you two shots per latte order and they're so fresh too! I don't find that their coffee is too traumatically hot, and they add the perfect amount of froth! (they can add NONE if you prefer) And if you're in a rush, they even offered to put in sugar for me! My wife loves their Americanos. Hard to screw up, I know. But really it's about service. If you live in the Northpark area, you have three choices for brew; Starbucks on Irvine Blvd and Culver, the Starbucks in Pavillions, and Peets. Peets beats the other two hands down. This place is awesome! Music was nice and at the perfect volume. I love it when the conversations blend perfectly with the music. The place was lively, uncrowded, and devoid of hipsters. Yes! I ordered a house coffee they were out, so I had to wait 2 minutes for them to brew a new batch. The staff was really cool and educated me on their menu as I waited. Also, since I had to wait... they gave me my order for free! Yayuh! Five stars! Overall I love this place. It's so cool without even trying. It's the George Clooney of coffee houses. Love this Peet's! It has such a great outdoor patio area with lots of tables and seating so if you decide to sit outside it won't be a problem. Whenever i come here the staff is always welcoming and more than willing to help you out on deciding what to get. I love getting their freddos! It's like a starbucks frappucino, but with more coffee in it, it's so delicious! It's a great place to come and study since they offer free wifi, but tends to be crowded on the inside by people who are studying for school or completing work for their jobs. Peet's is for you if you like high quality coffee that isn't hidden under all the creams and sugars, but if you like blended drinks i'd recommend driving a couple minutes down to a Starbucks :) read more

I love Peets coffee way better than Starbucks. I go to Starbucks only when there is no Peets. This location is SO close to where I live, so it's very convenient. Their espresso is smooth and delicious and their sugar free syrup is much better than Starbucks. The staff there is awesome. Very friendly and fast. The baristas were very nice. I showed them the coupon and they took it right away. $1.80 for medium coffee frap ain't bad at all. They were very detailed. They asked me if I also would grind the coffee beans in ( i thought they usually do it) this is my first time they ask me about it. They drink came out quick and taste really good. Came in on a Saturday evening to do some reading. Two nice ladies were working at the time and they made my visit very pleasant. While preparing a customer's drink, one of staff told me very nicely "I'll be right with you." At the time, the other staff came right over and took my order in a very genuinely friendly manner! It's a long time since I received such great customer service! My order was repeated back to me to confirm before I paid (I notice the little details now) and my drink was out in under a minute! Background music was classical, and not too loud, so customers can study/read easily. My experience this time was drastically different from my previous visit -- in a good way of course! read more

I had no idea there was a Peet's Coffee in this little shopping center! It is located between the CVS, and what used to be Pavilions (when did that close??). Plenty of seating outside, and a fairly decent amount of seating inside too. I like coming to Peet's because they have different drinks, and they just taste better than Starbucks. While I don't blow a whole paycheck on my coffee beverages (making my own iced coffee at home FTW), it's always nice to have someone make a fancy coffee bev for me. I had the Black Tie, and it was deeeelicious! My friend had a blended chai, and she said it was really good. UPDATE: August 17, 2013... my first time back since the "Independence Day Downer" over a month ago with "Mr-Whats-A-Grande?". Happy to say, my old Peet's crew with their smiling faces and up-beat personalities are back! :) To Peet's enormous credit, they responded to my one-off downer experience last time... they listened and followed up. Love this place (again), the personal touch of welcome as you walk up to the counter and the smiles makes this my favorite go-to spot for reading, writing and coffee. My favorite place for studying!!! Their service is pretty good, and all coffees have good qualities :) I always get their caramel macchiato and french vanilla latte, or you can customize your coffee if you want :) sometimes they also ask if you would like a refill (decaf) of coffee and atmosphere is pretty good! you can even study outside, they have heaters turns on around 6~7pm :) quiet, nice friendly place! read more

I wish I could find Pee'ts Coffee in as many places as other well known coffee houses. I find the flavor of Peet's to be superior to other better known coffee shops. I am not impressed with brands that label the size of their drinks in "cute" ways. Peet's is straight forward in this respect with small, medium and large. Peet's also has a number of pastries and cookies, though I tend to avoid them, simply for dietary reasons, though I have enjoyed some of the cookies a time or two --Yum. This particular store is close to my work and I have to pass by it twice a day so I tend to stop in several times a week. The ambiance is fairly laid back, with many people doing work on laptops, tablets or studying. Outdoor seating is available as well. All the staff are very friendly. My only reason for not awarding 5 stars is that service can be a bit slow at times, even though they are not crowded. read more

THE BEST PEET'S!!! I live in a community that borders Starbucks (Irvine Blvd/Culver) and Peet's(Portola/Culver one street away from each other). For some reason I just never went to Peet's as I normally frequented Starbucks. For those of you who know which Starbucks I am referring to, they are always super busy and dirty. Service is mediocre. So why would I go Starbucks when I can go to Peet's if I live right in the middle of the two? The reason why I love this Peet's is because they are never really busy. Parking is a breeze. Customer service is GREAT...probably the best I have experienced in a long time at any store for that matter. They actually talk to you and try to get to know their customers. I am a fan of Kean but its too far for me to go to everyday. For those of you who like Kean coffee this is pretty close to it. Way better quality/taste then Starbucks. They make the best soy vanilla latte. Its usually pretty quiet here and its a great place if you need to study or work on your lap top. Give it a try. read more

I love Peet's coffee but the customer service here left a bad taste in my mouth. I walked into the store and proceeded to wait for someone to take my order. Mind you, there was no greeting and no acknowledgement of my presence. That wasn't even the problem, since I can deal with that, it happens. There were 2 cash registers so I waited at one, and no one else was behind me while I was waiting. Then I guess someone else came and was at the second cash register, where one of the workers started helping him! Hello?, I've been waiting here for a few minutes! So I proceeded to say, "Oh, is the line over there?" to let him know I was waiting and he pointed to someone else behind him and said that he'll help me. Whaaaat?! I was irritated by his response and his lack of accountability to say the least. He didn't apologize for taking someone before me, nor did he take ownership of his actions. Love their coffee I live very close but never noticed about this place. I become pretty picky when it comes to coffee since I studied and worked as a barista before. In such sunny weather, it's hard not to love iced caffeinated beverages. That said, it's also hard not to become a snob about them. Though I may not choose the coffee at Peet's, the tea is hard to beat. My obsession? The hibiscus iced tea. It's a fun, rich color with a subtle natural sweetness. Even though I avoid their "freddos," I do find that the quality at Peet's is worth relearning a coffeeshop menu. Their Snow Leopard tea is delicious on a chilly afternoon, and their mochas are a lot more coffee than chocolate, which I like on certain occasions. OK, so it's not Starbucks. Peets Coffee & Tea provides very good coffee and healthier selections of pastries. I like their nuts & fruits scones and am pleased with the pastry supplier they chose for their stores. That to me means they have a good sense when it comes to serving something good with more pure and simple ingredients in mind. In the rare occasions I walk into Starbucks I'd notice the ingredients/nutrition labels on their fridge kept sandwiches have way too much salt/sodium. I'm not a food snob who might overly correct their diet. I use whole milk for my cappuccino and latte. I just wanted to eat balanced healthy food. The seating areas both indoors and outdoors are inviting. I can also request my coffee served in a ceramic cup, which tastes better in my opinion than in a paper cup. I also regularly purchase French press grind for home. It makes a very good cup of morning coffee for me. Satisfactory. Service overall is fine, though I do feel they expect you to know immediately what you want to order without having to think or look at the menu for more than 3 seconds. I hope they do realize their menu is there for helping customers see their products and decide what to order, rather than just a decoration. read more

They often run out of scones and other pastries before 9:00am. They seem more worried about having leftover pastries than servicing their customers. When I commented about them running out, their comment was "You should get here earlier." While I like Peet's coffee, it's not worth putting up with that kind of incompetence and attitude. read more
