I recently stopped by Peacock Café in Georgetown and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs along with a spicy margarita, and both were fantastic. The hash was flavorful and perfectly cooked -- hot, hearty, and clearly made with care. The eggs were just right, and everything came out fresh and beautifully plated. The spicy margarita had a great kick without being overpowering, balancing the meal perfectly. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet refined -- perfect for a weekend brunch or a casual meal with friends. Overall, a delicious and satisfying experience. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu!

My friend's birthday brunch was a hit. Cocktails were amazing, food was good too, but the service was the best. First of all, the manager has put some decorations on the table for our occasion. Our server was so patient and kind, he was able to do separate checks for a party of 14. Unbelievably accommodating. The atmosphere was beautiful, I love the decorations and paintings on the wall and the lighting was stunning. And our group dressed in peacock colors to spin a little bit of fun and we had the best time celebrating our friend. Highly recommend, such a cute cafe with a big heart.

We had a delicious dinner last night with a friend who was celebrating her birthday. She has frequented this restaurant a lot because they're sensitive to gluten and have a lovely menu. The ambiance was cute and quaint and right in the heart of Georgetown. There was a parking garage right next door which was amazing since we were coming from Alexandria. I paid $20 for a few hours. I was greeted by both the hostess and owner who I need to say was so attentive to everyone. He really seemed kind and very interested in his patrons experience which isn't something people do anymore so kudos to him. I asked about sangria but they didn't have one, so I ended up with a Tito's and pineapple. It was made well with fresh fruit and lime. I had two that were delicious. For an app I ordered the bruschetta. This was a miss for me as there was so much balsamic it looked like the cheese was "grilled chicken" at first. It made the bread so soggy that everything fell through the bed. The tomato's and cheese were fresh but again ruined by the dressing. I could only eat one. My crab risotto on the other hand was wonderful. So so good and a large portion! I then had the volcano chocolate lava cake for dessert. It was yummy. Prices were accurate for DC and I would gladly return just based on the service.

Got a seat at the bar for brunch service. Was busy but the volume wasn't too much for conversation, biggest latte I've ever had in my life, literally almost the size of my head. Chesapeake Benedict was good, would have preferred a different bread base but I could have asked for sub! Fries were delicious and extra crispy. Very solid brunch.

Overpriced and not totally worth .... thought they would use english muffin instead of toast for my peacock eggs chesapeake (which is essentially a crab egg benedict). lowkey feels a little cheap??? you would expect bigger portion sizes for the $$$. Loved the thin crispy frites though, they're just the way I like them. Highly do nottttt recommend getting the lattes here, they were really bad and watered down and costed $7

Excellent variety of quality dining options served by a friendly staff. Owner Shahab Farivar and his Chef-Owner brother Maziar, attentively make sure that the dining guests are taken care of. Dined with Beth and Chris Ellis of Richmond.

Had lunch today at Peacock. It was such a nice day I sat outside to dine al fresco. I ordered the Prosciutto and mozzarella on baguette. It was very good but for $20 I was expecting a lot more prosciutto. lol. The bread was excellent! Service was good.

    Grouper

Stopped for dinner while in Georgetown and throughly enjoyed the experience. My family had the crab cakes (excellent with little filler), filet, tuna salad, and grouper (pictured). All of the items were prepared perfectly. The restaurant was packed which made it a little noisy but it is nice to see diners out and about having a good time.

Peacock Cafe is a Georgetown staple, especially as restaurants nearby come and go. The space is intimate, and the service is efficient and kind. The menu has many options, including smoothies and juices and brunch. I enjoyed the homemade passion fruit lemonade. For lunch, I ordered off the brunch menu. The breakfast sandwich was decent, but won't win any awards. It was very basic. However, the fruit cup that it comes with was awesome! It came with quality fruit- raspberries, pear, pineapple.

Great spot, great service, great vibes! If you're in the Georgetown area I highly recommend giving this place a go, the food is amazing (I ordered the Gluten free cinnamon french toast, though I saw many food options on the menu that I'd try out) and service is efficient and very professional. It definitely exceeded my expectations, and had a sort-of "fine dining" service appeal which was very surprising. The only con is that the inside is super cramped making it hard to truly enjoy your company (if you're not a fan of being a hair's breath away from your neighboring table, I wouldn't recommended), so I'll be glad to come back in sunnier weather so I can take advantage of the outdoor area which looked a bit more spacious.

The food is amazing! Service is even better. The ambiance is cute but can get a bit packed. This spot is hands down one of my FAVORITE brunch spots. I usually get a dish with arugula / salad but I can't find the photos now... but! I most definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting DC or DMV. My favorite is their quiche

Love to have lunch here anytime I'm in Georgetown. The staff is truly so lovely! And they have some of the best french fries. I really enjoy their GF bread, it's different and very good!

The prices do not match up with the quality of the food here AT ALL. We were thoroughly underwhelmed by the poor quality of the food. The pancakes were genuinely inedible with horrible syrup as well. The fries were served cold. I asked for an apple juice and got charged $9.50 for some sort of smoothie concoction that I did not want at all. I will not be dining here again.

The sommelier's guidance made the experience even better; every recommendation paired perfectly with our meal. And the food? Superb. Outstanding. We got a bunch of things to share. I ate the butter like it was frosting. It may be cultured, but I'm not!! Had the carrots, escargot, the deviled eggs, and the pasta. Also had the octopus pepper gilda thing. Our server, think his name was Hunter, said that was the most popular main. It was very delicious, rich but not overly so. The martini was nice and came with a side car. Great presentation. When my friend saw the martini she said this makes me feel like i know how to live. They have a good wine list, you can get good stuff without breaking the bank. Their espresso is nice. I don't think they have decaf though.

History of Present Indulgence 32 yo M presents with spouse…read moreand friend for pre-comedy show dinner at Italian establishment on 18th Street in Adams Morgan. No reservation and sat comfortably at the bar. Physical Examination Food - This place was absolutely delicious. We started with Arancini and Prosciutto e Polenta. The arancini was fried perfectly - crispy outside, warm risotto inside, and sitting in this savory-sweet tomato sauce that I could've honestly just eaten with a spoon (and basically did using the focaccia they give with your meal - which itself was delicious too). The arancini also has ground beef in the center, which adds to the flavor and depth of what is usually just fried risotto. The polenta fries with paprika aioli were fantastic too. My only complaint is that I wish there were more of the fries because there were only 3 to go along with the large plate of sliced prosciutto. The prosciutto itself was fine. Just standard quality prosciutto. For mains, we went family-style and shared three entrees: the pork ossobuco from the secondi menu, the tagliarini with shredded duck, and the cavatelli with rabbit and fava beans. The ossobuco was cooked well, though I wish the braise flavor went deeper into the pork. The truffle mushroom risotto underneath was incredible. Rich, creamy, and the fresh lemon and parsley gremolata on top cut through all that richness perfectly. The tagliarini was delicious, but my wife and I agreed that the duck flavor was a little lost in the rich marinara sauce. It didn't feel like I was eating duck, to be honest. You could've told me that was shredded short rib, and I might've believed you. The cavatelli was probably my favorite dish - those shell-shaped pasta pieces with rabbit and fava beans in a white wine sauce that had this unique flavor I haven't tasted anywhere else. There's a mild gaminess from the rabbit, but it was very subtle. Each time I had a fava bean, it was a fun change of pace in texture and taste as I was spooning this plate down my throat. It was so so good. Portions were generous too, which made the prices feel totally worth it. We left full and satisfied. My wife had a lambrusco spritz that was deliciously refreshing, and we shared some good wine throughout the meal. No complaints. Service - The bartender was really kind and attentive. Even though we weren't at a table, we didn't feel like we were getting second-tier service or anything. They checked on us regularly, made good recommendations, and kept everything moving smoothly. I also love a service that offers more table bread without needing to be asked. And their table bread was this fragrant focaccia, so I could've eaten all of whatever they brought. Ambiance - haven't been to a ton of Italian restaurants in DC, but I loved the vibe here. Intimate, cozy, dim lighting. The wine selection was great too - enough variety to be interesting without being one of those overwhelming 50-page wine lists. I think this would be a perfect date night spot. Assessment A high-quality Italian restaurant with creative takes on traditional dishes, generous portions, and an intimate atmosphere. A strong contender for the Adams Morgan dining scene, where restaurants are lined up right next to each other, and making a choice can be a bit difficult. Plan - Add to recommended restaurant list for DC visitors - Consider for future date nights or a solo wine and appetizer moment - Return to try more pasta dishes or enjoy a happy hour

We told one of the servers and he said noted, then never came back and it was never addressed. The ossobucco with the risotto rice was extremely undercooked, where we could see the white middles of each grain of rice. The ossobucco itself was delicious though! I reached out on their website to share that we were a bit disappointed as we were there with friends who claim this is one of their favorite Italian restaurants in the DMV, and having multiple bones in a dish is not acceptable. Not coming back and saying something is also unacceptable. No one reaching back out after I emailed them, is equally very unacceptable.

Warm wood, soft lighting, an atmosphere that feels intimate without being cramped, the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay a while. The team went above and beyond when they learned I don't drink: they gifted us a non-alcoholic wine, a complimentary appetizer, and dessert. That kind of hospitality isn't scripted... it's felt. Now, the food. The housemade sourdough with eucalyptus honey butter is dangerous, I could have stopped there and been happy. The roasted carrot salad with hazelnut dukkah and garlic toum was one of those dishes that makes you rethink a vegetable entirely. The garlic knots had no business being that good... crispy, layered, almost croissant-like, deeply garlicky in the best way. For pasta we had the pappardelle with spicy roasted pork ragù and fennel breadcrumbs, and the canastra cheese ravioli with wild garlic pesto and brazil nut pangrattato, that stunning deep green dish topped with chive blossoms looked like art and tasted even better. Both pastas were perfect. Then the Brazilian budino with coconut caramel and toasted coconut came out with a little candle tucked in. I nearly cried. This is a restaurant that treats every table like it matters. We will absolutely be back.
