Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The restaurant is lively and I was able to grab walk in seats at the bar. Dinner was exceptional and the bartender was attentive and polite, his recommendations were spot on.

Nice restaurant week meal in January 2026. Great service and interesting, well made drinks. The appetizers we tried were all very good--the squash soup was gingery and hearty, the leeks were nice, and the salad with calamansi vinaigrette was refreshing. The entrees were also good, my friends liked the branzino and mushroom risotto, my lamb wasn't my favorite--it was a strange rectangle of meat, it was a bit tough, and the brown sauce wasn't very flavorful, and the parsnip puree was fine. The desserts were quite good--we tried the raspberry chocolate mousse, eggnog cheesecake with whiskey ganache, and orange curd cake; dessert was probably the best, most consistently great course. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly, not too loud and not rushed.

Came to Annabelle for restaurant week with one of my friends and had such an amazing time. From start to finish, everything was on point. I started with the squash soup and it was super warm and packed with flavor -- honestly the perfect way to start the meal. For my main, I got the branzino and it was cooked to perfection, really well balanced and just done right. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse and it was also great -- rich but not too heavy, and a perfect ending. My friend also loved his food and the cheesecake dessert! The ambience is such a vibe -- cozy, stylish, and just really good energy all around. Also have to mention the bathroom mirror because it's elite for selfies. Our server Chris was amazing as well -- super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Overall, amazing food, great service, and great vibes. Would definitely come back soonnn

From the cod (fishy) to the wagu the tempature of the foods were lukewarm/room temperature and in some cases the food was not seasoned. However, the dessert was delicious.

Annabelle provided one of thee BEST restaurant experiences I've ever had! The feng shui was pure perfection! We were seated in one of their private rooms and it felt like we were in a literal greenhouse. The air was so fresh and the natural made it feel like a movie! The gold accents and pops of color were so pleasing to the eye. The staff was so attentive and informative. They welcomed us with smiled and insight regarding the menu! They were polite! I want to give a HUGE shoutout to the estaurant Manager Dina and our waitstaff Arin! When I say I LOVE them! They made us feel like we were the only guest and more over they made us feel like more than just dining guest! Dina and Arin are perfect examples of what 5 Star customer service looks/feel like! The food was nothing short of extraordinary! The oysters were ridiculously fresh and tasty. The mignonette and lemon with the oysters were a perfect pairing. We also had the Braised Pork Belly and the Roasted Leaks! The pork belly was seasoned so well and the hosin ju was a match I never knew I needed! The leaks we new for me and they were DELICIOUS! They melted in my mouth. I could've eaten 10 more LOL!! Our cocktails were good, they felt like they were made with fresh ingredients. I could taste how fresh the basil and mint was in my Basil Mint Mojito. My friend got a Mezcal Paloma and you can tell it was a fresh squeezed grapefruit, they smoke flavor wasn't overpowering. Light but deliberate. Extremely well crafted cocktails! For our entrees we got the Branzino with watercress salad and King Salmon with roasted fennel! The branzio was cooked to perfection! The watercress salad was but the flavor palette was excellent! The king salmon was tender and moist! Paired with the rusted fennel, grape tomatoes and sauce vierge, I felt like I was on a cloud! Everything was SO good! To finish it off we had the Vanilla Bean Peach Cheesecake and the Lemon Blueberry Poppyseed Cake. The cheesecake was by far the creamiest cheesecake I've ever had an I don't even like cheesecake! It was a great balance. The lemon blueberry poppyseed cake had the right amount citrus and blueberry. They poppyseed brought a great texture! Literally EVERYTHING I ate was amazing! I definitely plan on going back and recommending to everyone I know! Thanks for an amazing experience Annabelle

What a special place from one of the best restaurant groups! The interior is so dark and cozy, dimly lit and romantic. I love the vibe. Before 6 on a weekend it was pretty quiet but quickly picked up with lots of people coming in. The only negative was the service between courses and waiting was kind of slow. However, the food was excellent! I loved the beef tartare which was so fresh and light. The oysters were delicious and not too briny. Each dish was smaller in serving size and healthy. You will not have leftovers but each course is still an okay size, but the food is on the lighter side. I loved the steak tenderloin. Literally so tender and cooked to perfection. I only wish they served more mashed potatoes with this dish. I also tried the mushroom risotto, lighter than other risottos and almost soupy. Lots of flavor going on in this dish and so yummy for a cold night. The server gave us two mini chocolate chip cookies to end our meal - perfect! I will be back.

When researching dinner options for this trip, I stumbled across Annabelle, a retro-chic restaurant near Dupont Circle/ Embassy Row. The large blue awning and corner spot helped my Lyft driver easily find this restaurant. I fell in love with the beautiful restaurant. The prints on the walls, which vary in style depending on the room, the bold colors and prints of the seating upholstery, and the artful plant hanging from the skylight created a nice ambiance. I did note that the restaurant was loud; I heard snippets of conversations from several tables. The menu is seafood-forward. On the night of my visit, smoked salmon, oysters, scallops, snapper, cod, and bass were available. Steak, chicken, and a pasta dish rounded out the curated menu. I had the roasted beets and parsnip salad. It was, in a word, divine. Of course, I am partial to both and have to admit that I greedily gobbled up the salad quickly. The wild striped bass was bathed in citrus butter and was served with sweet potatoes and fennel. It was well composed, and I regret not being able to finish it, especially if I wanted dessert. I went with the citrus crème brûlée, which was not a great choice. The dessert came out perplexingly, both hot and cold. So hot from running the dessert under the broiler and cold from being stored in the fridge? Both extreme temperatures in one bite. It was just not a pleasant taste. Service was attentive. The table was cleared and cleaned quickly, refills were brought out before my drink was empty, and my water glass was continuously filled, all of which, I really appreciated.

We had a really nice family dinner at Annabelle. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. The small plates were my favorite. I loved the Spanish octopus and the Parisian gnocchis. The flavors were rich. The bread and butter were also outstanding. My main dish (Amish chicken) was good but not mind blowing. I felt like they could have done something different with the dark meat. And the sweet potato puree was more like a sauce. The German chocolate cake was stellar! Don't miss out on that! The service was fantastic. Really friendly waiter. He was great! The restaurant is fancy and great for a special occasion dinner. I would recommend checking out Annabelle.

Came here for a date night recently and had the best and intimate dinner with my boyfriend. I think I saw somewhere in the precious reviews that there is valet, but when we came there wasn't ? (Do with that as you will lols) but we found street parking relatively easy to find. Annabelle's is a beautiful fine dining restaurant located on the corner street of Florida Ave, and I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The waiters were professional and so kind, and really did made a great effort to ensure that my boyfriend and I had a nice enjoyable dinner together. I started off my meal with grilled oysters and they were DELICIOUS. I'm not an oyster girl at all, but thoroughly enjoyed these - they sit in some kind of butter sauce and I gobbled them down quickly. From there I had some grilled octopus and their chicken dish which both were cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a quiet dinner with your person with an intimate ambiance, Annabelle's is the perfect place to go!

Annabelle is a beautiful restaurant and I was so happy to finally dine there. I went for restaurant week and had a reserved table at the bar. The bartender Kevin greeted me by name and gave me time to look over the menu. That's one thing I really loved about the whole experience, I never felt rushed. Tuna Crudo 9/10 it was light and packed a punch of flavor. It was served with chips which added texture to the dish. Striped Bass & Mussels 8/10 the fish and mussels were cooked perfectly and had good flavor but the mushroom and fennel stole the show. Lived the sauce! Tropical Panna Cottage 10/10 when I tell you I was shocked! I'm not a dessert person at all, but this was something special. It was delicious and had so many different flavors and textures. Probably one of the best dishes I've ever eaten in my life. I'll definitely be back to try the main dinner menu. Thank you Annabelle for the amazing experience.

Dispelling the myth that French cuisine is pretentious, we felt like we were in a home, and that we would be fed full to the brim. Came in while it was packed late into the night. We were sat immediately and had a wonderful time. Our waitresses were patient and had great recommendations for our first time trying French food. They seem incredibly experienced and added comfort in the way they spoke to their customers and ran their tables. We were even greeted by the owner who was great and cheery to each table he visited. The one night we went, it was incredibly packed with people having intimate, lighthearted, and laughter-filled gatherings, tables with multiple rounds of wine, everyone sharing their fries, and so he should feel proud of this place. Touches like this made it as though we were dining in someone's house. And I love that they start you off generously with bread and butter. Its a type of french loaf that is nice and fluffy, and I'd recommend setting some on the side if you're ordering a brothy dish. We ordered Moules Marinières, which came in a delightfully large cauldron of juicy plump clean muscles swimming in an herbaceous-garlicky white wine sauce. Unassumable from the simplicity of ingredients they threw together, but incredibly complex in flavor. This is one of the few times I actually tasted bay leaf, and amongst the fewer times I found the use of rosemary not be so overpowering. The mussel liquor at the bottom was perfect when soaked up in bread. What an incredible dish. We also tried a classic, Le Steak Maison, which was also distinctively flavorful. Our steak had a perfect cook at medium rare, and was uniquely seasoned with some sort of blend of herbes de provence. The fries were pretty standard and substantial, but paired with the Béarnaise sauce, it was such a tangy play of richness and acidity. Again really simple ingredients just executed so well. Great job, looking forward to coming again to try more on this large menu.

I walked in and was seated at the bar. Rachal, the bartender, greeted me with a glass of water and asked me if I wanted a drink while I studied the menu. The restaurant space is very charming, giving off Parisian vibes. I ordered the Artichaut à la Grecque as a starter and the Salade Lyonnaise. The artichoke dish was simply delicious... steamed perfectly and accompanied by my new favorite sauce, sauce Ravigote. The whole plate was beautiful, but the way the sauce enhanced the flavor of the artichoke, not mask it, was just perfect execution. After taking my time with the artichoke, I switched over to the Lyonnaise salad... also simply perfect! The frisée was crisp and the lardons were cooked well. I'd say the only issue was the poached egg was a tad overcooked, but ever so slightly and it didn't ruin the dish. I sat at the bar after finishing both dishes and felt so much satisfaction from the food. The bonus was the lovely conversation I had with Rachal, at least until the rush of people started showing up... when I walked into the restaurant, it was quite empty, but when I left there was a line around the corner and every table was packed. I know why... If you're in DC, you have to dine here, you will not regret it!

Whoooooo man, do I have stuff to say…read more First off, I need to comment that Pastis and our server get a lot of leniency because 3 people in our group of 8 were 30 minutes late due to issues with Uber and other small things. But, beyond that, an otherwise "meh" night out food wise. I'm gonna streamline this. - Food: Why is the house steak called "bar steak"? That feels like a weird name for what's supposed to be a moderately upscale place. it's also $30, which is expensive for the area. - My wife's bar steak was ordered medium and it was served Rare. The same was true for a friend who ordered the exact same thing. What the hell? Sure, someone else in our party ordered hers rare, but if a guest asks for medium, cook it like that. My Spaghetti Limone was good, but was in an overly large plate. Also, it had 1-2 shakes too many of the red pepper flakes, and while I didn't mind the spice, some guests are spice sensitive and there was no indication on the menu it was gonna have any spice. We were given bread for the table but my first slice was actually cold to the touch. The bread itself didn't feel fresh. It honestly seemed like it'd just been set in the basket from wherever it was stored. Menu: - A lot of stuff on the menu seems fried (at times semi-heavily), which is not typical of French cuisine (this can be learned with a quick google). If it's meant to be "inspired by" note that. Also maybe make the menu healthier. - The menu itself is non-descriptive and gives an air that Pastis is trying to be classier than it is. Also, the cocktails and drinks menu was just a simple, cheap laminate while the main food menu was a paper one that wasn't taken away and stayed on the table throughout our meal. Service: 1) the server said "oh the non-alcoholic Bordeaux blend, good catch, " when i ordered my drink. She didn't see me point specifically to it either. If you're gonna list a couple non-alcoholic wines, maybe avoid having a regular version of the same variety? Maybe have the non alcoholic version more clearly labeled? 2) Water: our group specified flat water (not sparkling) and every time refills came (we had to ask, no staff clocked that we were low and asked if we wanted or simply brought more) only one bottle was brought and it was started at one end, meaning it was empty by the other end of the table. Why not bring 2? Why not just have bigger bottles? Additionally, because sometimes there is water upcharge in DC, we asked for Tap water. But we had to ask numerous times, multiple people in our group too, as it was never brought. 3) Our server spilled one guests wine on the floor at one point. 4) Our server disappeared for 5-10 minutes at a time, not bothering at all to ask how things were. At one point, when I got up to go to the bathroom, near the end of our meal, she was closing out other tables checks (usual end of the night stuff), which is fine, but there was still like 45 minutes left before the restaurant was due to close. Seems to me that should be done after your party of 8 leaves. We had to flag her or other servers down and Pastis was not busy. Service was inattentive. Multiple people in our party also had to ask for the table to get salt and pepper. When it came, it was just passively dropped off with big "fine, ugh, here it is" energy at the opposite end of the table, while staff walked away. I get it, half our group was 30 minutes late. But that doesn't excuse the apathy and disregard we were given. For a place that tries to be classy, Pastis was whelming. Honestly, don't recommend.

Serving French Bistro style classics like Trout Almandine, Steak Frite and roast chicken the menu is brief (which I appreciate, just do what you do well). The Thursday special, as I said is $45 for a starter, a main, a desert and shared bottomless fries and salad that come with your main dish. The starters. The table got the flat bread (it has some crazy description, but it's just flat bread pizza) was solid coming with a vegie and a meat option. The salmon carpaccio was served with a lemon caper sauce and field greens had a slight texture issue (served more like gravlax instead of diced means the sauce didn't penetrate all of the fish); but if you got the perfect bite, it was solid. The rabbit terrine was the winner, served with a salad and bread, it was meaty with a subtle flavoring. For mains we had the steak (medium rare, I would go medium next time, the cut wasn't medium-rare quality) served with roasted onions and lightly sauced. Solid. The roast chicken. Tender and moist. Solid but needed salt. And the Trout, full fish filet and skin-side smothered in almond parsley sauce. The sauce should have been put on the meat side to imbue that with the flavor, also needed salt and something to lift the flavor (maybe more citrus). The salad and fires come with your main and really are bottomless. Waiving your server down, they come with a giant bowl of piping hot fries. Truely the star of the show. Perfectly salted and went with every main dish. Even the salad was good, with a solid vinaigrette. They have a great priced house caraf of white, red or rose wine that we washed all this down with. We were stuffed to the gills. Service was responsive and the pacing was very good. I know French food is known for understated-elevated; this place is soooooo close to hitting the nail on the head. I'll certainly be back to check out the jazz and tinis (make reservations, we went up to check it out and it was packed)!
