Came here cause my man was raving about the basil babe and we were in the area. Honestly I was a little surprised by how much the bowls of pasta were considering this is a fast casual joint. It was like $20 for a bowl of pasta! We ordered the basil babe and it came out fast! Like 5-7 minutes and it came with all the fixings. They leave all the parm and pepper available for you to take as you need and it's definitely a game changer to have the toppings. Their line of drinks are also really good! I was surprised with all the different beverage flavors. Personally the passion fruit was my favorite. All in all it was a great experience. Would def try more flavors.

Okay, so this place is addictive. After a few times eating their The Dreamer, you begin to crave it again and again. This is on the top of our list of places to get dinner or go to lunch. The pasta is so fresh and delicious. If you follow me, or have read my reviews you know I am extremely picky about the taste and quality of the food. Then, you will understand, if I say a place is addictive, then it is really good. Their pasta is home made, their sauces are fresh and made to order. Five stars perfection near the airport.

Been wanting to try this spot, finally had a chance to. It's located in a plaza with a lot of food options and plenty of parking. Inside is very modern, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I was taking a while to decide, and they checked in on me a couple of times to make sure I was good, which I appreciated. They offer a make-your-own pasta option, but I went with the set option, the mushroom and chicken pasta. The pasta is handmade, and the fresh pasta was really good. They mix it in a cheese wheel right in front of you, which was a nice touch, the flavors came together really well and blended nicely with the cheese. Overall it was very flavorful and well balanced. The cheese wasn't overpowering at all. Great experience and I'd definitely come back.

Located in a busy plaza, we went during lunch and service was really quick and everyone was very welcoming. Everything here is a little pricy but the pasta is tossed in a big cheese wheel and everything came out delicious. We tried the Gladiator, a marinara base, and the Dreamer, an alfredo base. Both very yummy, would definitely get again. The only thing I didn't like was the drinks. They have their own flavors in house but most of them weren't working and the water tasted a little funky. Other than that definitely a solid place for quick pasta!

Food: - The Gladiator (Bolognese Meatballs) Pasta: noodle consistency was good, however there is only one choice for noodles. Meatballs were standard, not the most flavorful. The dish had too much liquid, perhaps they didn't drain the water from the noodles. It was difficult to taste the cheese flavor from the cheese wheel with the addition of the parmesan cheese. - Basil Babe (PestoChicken) Pasta no chicken: good pesto flavor, but dish had too much liquid making the pasta soggy over time - Plain cheese pasta: cheese flavor was stronger, but salty Ambiance: - Order at the counter and wait for order - Cheese wheel is more for show than addition of flavor

I wanted to like this place, I really did. You order at a kiosk in the restaurant which was fairly easy. The food here is a little expensive and the portions aren't large for pasta. I got the Dreamer bowl - Alfredo and prosciutto. And my food was salty, not just a little but unbearably so. And the worst part was that my pasta was cold. I watched them make it, do the cheese wheel and everything. They handed it to me and I started to eat right away, and it was already cold. The velvet upholstery looks nice in pictures but the seats are all pretty dirty even though the place is pretty new. I hate to leave a bad review, but my meal was pretty much inedible.

My friends and I are calling this place Club Pasta Viva, because they basically have club music in the evening, but we were totally here for it. Theres a very fun and happy vibe. We went for our first time on a Wednesday evening around 6:30pm and it was busy (I guess that's what happens when you go viral on TikTok)! The staff were hustling! It's an open air kitchen and you could see them getting to work, and they still had a smile on their faces. There's kiosks for ordering, and when it got really busy someone on their line would jump up to the cash register. I was worried this place would be just internet hype, but my friends and I all agree that it was actually really delicious. Their Alfredo especially...[insert happy Italian word here]. No one had a dish they did not enjoy. We will be back for sure!

Pasta was delicious. Better than many well known Italian restaurants. Cheese wheel adds a velvety smooth taste. Everything is customizable including keto and non dairy options. Most importantly the staff here was excellent and so generous and accommodating. Love this place. Well done to the owners and staff. Oh and the chocolate pasta was delicious too.

This was my first time coming here. We were in the area nearby for a tech repair and we got hungry. My friend was craving something noodle-y and this came up in the surrounding area and I'm glad we came. We told the woman at the cashier what she recommended. She gave us a few options of what customers normally get and she also shared a few of her favorite dishes she chooses from. I didn't catch her name but she was really sweet in helping us decide. The establishment is not too large of a space inside. You do have about 5 table spaces that can fit possibly 1-4 persons. Depends how big your group is. There are some tables outside the establishment as well. You'll spend about $15-$30 about. I think it's worth it. The flavors just come through so well. Since I deal with acid reflux, the popular items had mostly tomato based or garlic in the sauce. Nothing against it; trust I love me some pasta, but my stomach would cause discomfort if I took the risk. Anyways aside the point, I did end up ordering their Chicken & Mushroom pasta I believe it was called The Game Changer from their menu and it was delicious! I liked the ground pepper they added into the pasta sauce. The pasta is fresh too. I didn't even feel bloated after eating here. Mind you, the Alfredo sauce comes from spinning the fresh pasta on a cheese wheel. It was an awesome experience to see that in action. Definitely coming back when I'm back in this area.

Total impromptu lunch with my (former, but forever) work wife... we tried out a new place today that was recommended by Nate Eats... It was empty when we arrived on a Friday at 11:30, but quickly filled to capacity with a few waiting for a table to sit down for lunch. I ordered the chicken pesto with pasta and my friend ordered the mushroom pasta. I quickly realized that my pasta was cold, but the bottom of the container was warm. After eating a few bites, I was not impressed, so I went to ask if they could somehow warm it up as my friends was steaming hot. The guy at the counter said he could not warm it up, but would make me a new one. I told him that It was ok... I'd just eat it as is cuz I didn't want to waste the food. Shortly thereafter, a lady came to our table and told me she was having a new one made for me and I could take the first one home. That was extremely nice and I enjoyed the hotter version much better. This is a cute, new pasta place in a fresh, nice, mini mall with plenty of parking.

i really like this casual italian diner! normally italian cuisines don't have a lot of good casual restaurants but i feel like this place has a nice interior, fresh, hand made pasta, and overall great taste. service was friendly, would definitely come back to try their tiramisu balls! i got the chicken alfredo and they make it in the cheese wheel so there's a lot of flavor.

Came in on the recommendation of Yelp friend, Sherry C.(aka IG: aglassofsherry). I'm starting off my weekend of 'YES' with the cheese wheel pasta she highlighted. Hubs just likes the basic, a simple fettuccine Alfredo. Lucky us, that's where Pasta Viva STARTS! A simple house made - of imported Italian Chef's Flour - fettuccine, cooked in creamy Alfredo sauce then tossed in a cheese wheel and drizzled with Parmesan. $10! Hubs gave a satisfied 'Yummy!' when asked for his opinion. I stepped it up juuuust 1 notch and added a 4ct of meatballs for $5. They were good, dense, flavorful and meaty. All in all, a tasty bite. The pasta had a distinctly fresh taste. If you've made pasta from scratch, you know the taste. But this pasta was a bit lighter than I thought it would be and that's due to the imported flour. Yana, one of the owners, was moving around, checking on customers and stopped to ask how we liked the food and if it was our first time in. When we said it was, she was delighted to explain the concept and execution of the cheese wheel and fresh pasta. How they use clean ingredients and import them to replicate the delicious tasting dishes of their European home. Hubs also enjoyed the organic Kola Cola lite fountain drink. Guests have the option of ordering ahead, using the self-serve ordering kiosk, or placing their order w/staff. Justin helped us with our order and made sure our requests were noted accurately to the chef, then delivered our dishes when they were ready. The inside seating consists of a long, velvet covered banquette with small Disneyland Gibson Girl ice cream fountain, marble top, iron base tables in front and cute little upholstered stools. There's plenty of parking in the lot and all-in-all, should we find ourselves back in Irvine, craving scratch-made fettuccine and Alfredo sauce, tossed in a cheesy wheel, we will def head to Pasta Viva. Cheers! "CC"

This place is definitely more of a casual food spot as seating is limited! Genuinely one of the most flavorful pastas I've had in a while-- definitely impressed! This spot is a bit pricey but worth for the high quality pasta. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of prosciutto + pasta, I still thought the entree was great! Their bread is extremely fluffy and airy as well. Entree size was big as well, this was enough for two meals for someone who doesn't eat as much. Great pasta spot!

Smiling, she said, "Let's celebrate with Spanish tapas." So the beautiful day began with milk tea and chocolate before we headed to the newly opened restaurant Fat of the Land for their Mother's Day brunch, conveniently located on North Main Street in Santa Ana. I later found out it was a special Sunday brunch created just for Mother's Day. Thanks to my daughter's reservation, we were seated right away. The menu selection was smaller than usual, probably because of the special brunch menu, but every tapas dish sounded delicious. We ordered the Castelvetrano olives, Galician smoked paprika octopus, French steak tartare, and Basque cheesecake, paired with a Fiero Spritz and Red Sangria. Both the octopus and steak tartare were outstanding. The Galician smoked paprika octopus was tender, flavorful, and carried just the right hint of spice. The French steak tartare was served on crispy toasted bread with cheese sprinkled on top -- a creative and delicious twist on a classic dish. Fat of the Land truly feels like a hidden gem, and I had such a wonderful time celebrating Mother's Day with my daughter there.

When booking, I had the option of dining , chef's table, or patio seating. I specifically chose the dining since my daughter loves creating content, and the indoor ambiance is absolutely beautiful for photos. The hostess seated us on the patio, and I mentioned that I had selected dining. I was told that seating is based on first availability, which was a little disappointing, especially since the restaurant is right on the water and by 7:30 PM it was getting pretty chilly. While they do have heaters outside, sitting in gusty winds with the smell of gas (especially after a fresh trip to the hairdresser!) just wasn't ideal. My daughter went back to the car to grab a blanket. Thankfully, the hostess noticed my discomfort and came back shortly after saying, "Donna, we have another table further down that's out of the wind and under a heat lamp." That small gesture made a big difference, and honestly, that's when the experience started to turn around. From there, things only got better. When our entrées arrived, our waiter Nick realized we had never received our appetizers. Without hesitation, he assured us he would make it right, and he absolutely did. He brought out a selection of cheeses for us to sample, which led to us ordering a caviar bump paired with champagne (highly recommend!). To top it all off, he surprised my daughter with olive cake and fresh berries to celebrate her birthday. Such a thoughtful touch. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Not just because the food was amazing, but because of the attention to detail and how seriously they take the overall dining experience. Parking is available in a nearby garage, and they validate the first 90 minutes, which is a nice bonus.

I had this place bookmarked on Yelp since November when it was all dressed up for the holidays. The…read morepictures of the interior looked beautiful and the food looked great. Yesterday, I came here for my birthday lunch with my mom after she made a reservation, and honestly, I wish we had just gone somewhere else. We sat down right at our 1:00 reservation and then waited 35 minutes just to get a drink menu. Not food. Not to order. Just the menu for drinks. After we finally ordered, the champagne showed up about 20 minutes later. It was served in wine glasses, which feels like basic wine bar knowledge, but apparently not here. When we asked to switch them to champagne glasses, the waiter brought out smaller wine glasses. Not exactly good etiquette for a place that leans so heavily on its bar concept. The whipped ricotta appetizer came out even later, around the 65 minute mark. As an appetizer. It was fine, probably the best thing we had, but "fine" after that kind of wait is not a positive. From there, everything just dragged. It took almost an hour for my mom's meatballs to come out, and when they did, they were raw. Not slightly underdone. Fully pink in the middle. She sent them back and was so turned off she didn't even want to eat anything else. I ordered a salad and specifically asked for light dressing. What I got was the opposite. It was drenched in a thick, heavy dressing that made the whole thing borderline inedible and the lettuce soggy. After our food, I tried to order drip coffee, which they didn't have, so I settled for an Americano. I asked for warm cream, which I've had done at plenty of places, and somehow it came out clotted. If you know anything about coffee, that shouldn't happen. At this point, we had been there for over two and a half hours. For a salad, an appetizer, and four raw meatballs. The server was very nice and doing his best with being busy. BUT, the overall operation felt completely disorganized and untrained. We weren't the only ones either. The couple next to us was also complaining after waiting 40 minutes just to order breakfast items. To make it even better, parking is only comped for 90 minutes. So because of their slow service, we ended up paying for parking on top of overpriced, underwhelming food. What should have been a 45 minute lunch turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal. The bathroom also wasn't clean either time I went, which pretty much sums up the lack of attention to detail across the board. The only slightly redeeming part was the crème brûlée, which was... fine. Not amazing. Just fine. It's a pretty space. I'll give them that. But that's about where the positives end. The food is not good, the timing is unacceptable, and the whole experience feels like Instagram style over quality and substance. Definitely not worth the money, and not somewhere I'd ever go back to.

I've been here 3 times and it always hits the spot. The servers here are super attentive and friendly. The outdoor seating is also super sweet; you can get a view of the boardwalk while you eat. Moule in white wine sauce, 9/10: Star of the show for sure. Mussels are cooked nicely. They come piping hot in the pot with the white wine garlic sauce that perfectly accompanies the natural flavor of the mussels. So smart to serve it in the small pot since it keeps the mussels hot and you can scoop the sauce with the shell. They taste fresh and not slimy at all. I appreciated how you can choose the quantity of mussels you want. Frites, 9/10: Pretty much exactly how it tasted in Belgium. Slightly thicker cut fries with mayo and ketchup. Seasoned well and the inside of the fry is still pillowy and warm. Bolognese, 8.5/10: Well-rounded bolognese with a good amount of meat sauce; they did not skimp out on it. Very well-seasoned dish that pairs well with the parmigiano and chili flakes. It also serves as a good pasta dish to eat with the mussels. My only gripe is the noodles could have been a bit more al dente.

When the original iteration of this extravagant tasting menu restaurant debuted in 2018 in the back of the SLS Hotel, it was a stunner from day one. Now, a pandemic intermission and a relocation to West Hollywood later, Somni 2.0 operates on an even higher level. Somni is not only the most expensive restaurant in Los Angeles, it's also one of the most expensive in the country. The tasting menu starts at $745 actually, you're dealing with a meal that can cost as much as a family trip to legoland. Somni makes it clear from the first of 20-plus courses where your money is going. As you're led into a tree-draped courtyard outside the converted bungalow where the restaurant is housed (it used to be a Donna Karan store), the night begins with a champagne flute of frothed-up mandarin juice and a spread of carnival-coded snacks: popcorn-flavored leaves, a feather made of parmesan, and a big trompe l'oeil almond shell that cracks under your teeth like candy. Somni's chef cooked under José Andres and came up in the tongue-in-cheek school of fine dining made famous by Spain's El Bulli--so whimsy-heavy dishes like a cartoonish mushroom sandwich boosted with truffle, or a sashimi-like sardine tart on an oversized goldfish cracker are par for the course. But Somni's Spanish-leaning creations never sacrifice deliciousness for cleverness. An obscenely generous mound of caviar over a dissolving puff of dashi-flavored meringue is so delicious that all you can do is sigh. Beef tartare is delicately stuffed inside a tempura shiso leaf that's fried so it inflates like a crab shell, all but defying physics. A fair number of dishes use foams and flowers at Somni, but there's nothing dainty about the flavors here. The food is only half of what you'll remember, though. The dining room's 14 seats gently curve around a long kitchen counter like front-row seats to a play. The servers are cooks and vice versa. Many of them wear Secret Service earpieces. There's a natural choreography to how they breeze around the room, but no moment in the three-hour production comes across rehearsed for someone that's paralyzed. That's great news A beverage pairing is required Even if you choose the most inexpensive option-- over 100 Still, if you're willing to make the investment, Somni does not disappoint. A meal at this theatrical tasting menu spot is nothing short of incredible--just know it's incredibly expensive, too.

I want to recognize all the hard work, passion, and dedication Chef Zabala and his team brought to this extraordinary meal. My wife and I arrived early. I strongly recommend arriving early, since all guests are seated at the same time. All guests are served at the same time - by a highly synchronized team effort. Dress code exists. My wife wore a stunning dress. Me - in a long sleeve, khakis, and dress shoes. I recommend, for male guests, to dress better than I did. Definitely a jacket. The experience starts with warm, friendly smiles as you enter through the door. From there, you will be taken to the outdoor patio area, where tables, seats, hanging decor, and IG picturesque trees await. It's a start to what will be a wonderful experience. Then you will be taken indoors. Inside there is seating for 14. Seating is styled like a curved line. Two sides. You will face the Chef and his team. Plating will take place in front of you, and then taken to each person with synchronized style and grace. I felt like I was watching a conductor conduct a culinary symphony with his orchestra. Food? Unbelievable. Beautiful, creative, and complex. Look at the photos. The dedication it takes to dream of a deconstructed pizza and rebuilt by gastronomy, then executed with precision. And devoured by a few quick mouthfuls, yet fully savored. Service is rhythmic, synchronized, and attentive. Rhythmic because there is a pace, a rhythm set by the courses. Synchronized because the staff work in unison. Attentive because they feel and respond to the pulse of each guest. The wine pairing? Spot on. Team member Caroline did an excellent job here. Even when stuffed to the brim, I would not let a single drop of wine go to waste. No way, down the hatch it goes. On that note, get a rideshare or taxi. Last, Chef Zabala. His passion and dedication are noteworthy. To invent his dishes, to make them, to perfect them, and then to serve them. I can only imagine how much behind-the-scenes work it takes. An artist, a culinary magician, and a dedicated master to his craft. Thank you!

When I heard Heritage had received a Michelin star, I jumped at the chance to take my family. They all loved it and it was a hit from start to finish. It is definitely won't it to hear reservation. The best part, everyone on staff is truly friendly, helpful and attentive. The dining room is a little bit dark. It's a small price to pay for the amazing food from tonight's dinner. The flavors continue to be creative, inventive, and unforgettable. I never thought I'd ever enjoy passion fruit and crudo together, but I'm a fan! The sea urchin toast intimidated me but was actually a perfect little bite. And dessert was a work of art.

We do not recommend this restaurant, came here for a dinner with some friends. Knowing that it's…read moredifficult to find parking we arrived early and circled around for 10 minutes, our friends thought there will be valet but none at front. The space was very small, intimate setting but frankly just noisy as ceiling was low and everything was hard finishes. We had to talk loud to hear each other. So as servers presented the dish, they were not talking loud enough and most of time we couldn't hear what they said the dishes were, it was simply not clear. The food, was decent, I would have given 3-4 star for the food. However, half way through the course, I told our server we are worried with this little amount of 7 dishes would not fill us, I'm worried we would be hungry. And I really have to warn everyone if you come hungry with an appetite, trust my review and other reviews on here that mentioned the same thing, it's NOT enough food! We had dined at many Michelin star and fine dining restaurants, if they have a set menu we know each plate has small portion with nice presentation, but they will have many more courses to fill us up. Heritage only has 7 dishes and that's including dessert, with this price you could just have included 1-2 dishes that would be better. We went home and immediately cooked ramen to eat, that shows you how unsatisfying this meal was. Now moving onto the service, you really need to train your waiters and waitresses! Both me and my friend went to restroom separate times, my frd went down the hallway and passed by 2 servers and no one acknowledged him. If you are at any fine dining restaurants, and you left your seat the server immediately knows you are looking for a restroom and will direct you. They completely ignored him and looked sideways, he ended up walking all the way to the back of the kitchen and was confused then the kitchen staff told him you missed it, it was midway thru the hallway. Moreover, the restroom sign was white sign on a white door, it's so easy to miss it! The same thing happened to me too, I was looking for restroom and standing next to the kitchen counter, no one acknowledged me and I had to get their attention to ask if this is a restroom with me pointing at the door. You get the idea how unobvious that sign was and how bad the service was. I'm talking about one star Michelin, definitely not worth it in our opinion. Finally, that's right, I'm not done yet. The space is horribly designed with ventilation. Mid-way through the course, it was smokey in the dining area and I had tears in my eyes and had to blink multiple times. Just fyi, our table was at the far end from the kitchen. I looked far into the kitchen, they only had one window half opened in the back and all the smoke smell was going into the dining area. All of us felt it but we didn't complain as we were trying our best to enjoy our time out. When we left and stepped into the car, I smelled the smoke on my jacket, on my inside shirt (I had the jacket on the whole time), and smoke all over my hair! As soon as we got home, we had to switch out all the clothes, cooked and ate the ramen, then jumped into shower and tossed all clothes in washer to get rid of the Smokey smell. Omg this place is horribly designed without adequate verification just really bad overall. If you still decide to go after reading this, for whatever reason, just make sure you have a full lunch of the day before dinner, know not to wear nice clothes (as you will need to dry clean them immediately), and understand the time required to circle around small streets endlessly to look for parking. I honestly want to give it 1 star Yelp review out of all the negative, but the additional 1 was for the chef that the food is decent. But again, do not recommend, take your date and celebrate the special moment elsewhere!
