Pleasant Surprise! Whilst waiting for our flight back to the Bay Area, we stopped for a quick sandwich and yogurt. I ordered the chicken pesto, and my wife got a yogurt parfait. I actually wanted to get a breakfast wrap, but at around noon, they don't serve breakfast any longer. Oh well. Including a couple expensive drinks, the total was about $26. Actually seems okay for airport prices. The chicken pesto sandwich was surprisingly good. It's Panini style and came out nice and hot. The drinks could have been colder. There are tons of tables and chairs right outside the restaurant. So overall, a pleasant visit. I would not have expected the quality of this sandwich. I have been eating at the Tustin Zov's for more than 10 years and have since moved out of state. During my last visit to California, I returned via John Wayne Airport which was remodeled considerably since spring, and was delighted to find Zov's now had a prime place in the airport. My timing was perfect because it was about 20 minutes before they closed for the night. They had my favorite golden lentil soup, salads, sandwiches, muffins and a few cookies for sale in the display. I ordered a roasted veggie pizza/flat bread and my husband got a chef salad. I then purchased a cookie to take to work the next day. Everything was wonderful. I look forward to eating there every time I go to the airport. It may be on the pricey side, but for me it was worth the price; for the quality I receive when I dine with Zov. read more

It was my first time at John Wayne Airport and was looking through vegetarian options, came across this place next to few other food joints. Decided to order grilled cheese panini and he literally messed up, how can you work at a restaurant and mess up a simple cheese panini. All you gotta do is lay few slices of one type of cheese and grill it for few minutes. This smarty pants threw in two different types of cheese slices between the toast and grilled it, doesn't even freaking know how to lay each slide on top of each other and just trashed them, just because they charge $10.99 for a cheese sandwich he threw in two types of cheese slices, seriously? I'd rather still pay $10.99 for the same grilled cheese panini but made with just one type of cheese and well done. Traveling through John Wayne airport and wanted to keep it healthy. I ordered the roasted vegetable flatbread which had roasted zucchini, roasted eggplant, kalamata olives, roasted yellow and rev bell pepper, and feta cheese. Nice combo of flavors, my only issue with the dish is I expected a flatbread, similar to thin crust (or thinner) pizza, but it was more like pizza, which didn't make for a light dish. I knocked off a star for the lack of help and service from the cashier, who also prepared my food. I asked questions about the bread options for the sandwiches, and the lady just stared at me so I asked a few more times, to understand what the bread choices were for sandwiches. She eventually replied but with a "no" and "I don't know," and didn't offer to ask another employee to find out. I gave up trying to get answers and settled on the flatbread (they were the healthiest deal near my gate). I stepped away and another person placed an order. I noticed an obviously more senior employee, try and quietly scold the cashier for not attempting to help me or ask him or someone else to help. He then stepped in making small talk while the lady finished making my "pizza." I felt bad for the guy, I get it service is everything, so they definitely need to step up the service aspect of their business. If she were cashier again I would not revisit. The menu was in such a way, that employees should be pretty familiar with it, or say you don't know upfront, and refer customers to someone else. I was only asking could I have ciabatta bread on a veggie sandwich (of which I saw regular sandwiches on ciabatta), and it took for attempts to get an I don't know and then told no. Terrible service. The woman who worked there was rude and inattentive. (Despite the airport being empty. Despite it being lunch time. Despite the fact that there was no line. I guess I was interrupting an oh-so important conversation about her "frenemy's instagram," or some such nonsense.) Even when I was so bold as to ask for a fork, she seemed terribly put out. Note to Yelp: This is a review of the Zov's located within the secure area of Terminal C. It's not a review of Zov's GRAB-AND-GO in pre-security Terminal A. I'm all about restaurants owned or at least started by Armenians named Zov. I know an Armenian named Zov who is or was in the food industry, and I kind of associate him with Orange County and even Palm Springs even though he's never lived (as far as I know) in either place. Every time I see him, he's amazed by how much I resemble my father. The last time I visited his house, he lived on the same street as two other houses that I used to visit quite regularly with my family when I was a child. All of this is to say that I have very fond feelings for the name Zov, for Armenians and Armenian food, and for an Orange County-Zov connection. But Zov's at John Wayne gets only two stars because they charged me $5.38 for a tiny Naked Orange Juice. Yes, Naked is an expensive brand, and I should expect to be gouged at the airport, especially in Orange County. But $5.38? For that little orange juice? I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. The people working here were nice, especially Minerva. (How cool is it to meet someone named Minerva?) I'll definitely have to try some of their hummus. But $5.38? No way. Sorry, Zov. read more

Where are the TSA officers? There's a crime being committed ... highway robbery. Oh, wait .. they're all yucking it up and trying to get their belts around their 60" waists. OK ... on to Zov's Grab-n-Go. I've been going to Zov's for 13 years, ad I was thrilled when her spot arrived at SNA. Until I got in on a flight a few weeks ago and walked into the G&G. Besides not having anyone behind the counter (the clerk was out talking with a friend, and it took a few minutes of me saying "Hello? Is anyone back there?" for her to mosey on in. I picked up a Sabraa hummus cup and chips. There was no price on the shelf where it sat along with a lot of other prepackaged foods. I got out a $5, figuring it might be $4.25. Nope ... $6.47. I told the clerk to forget it and walked out ... and I'll never walk back in again. I travel a ton. I understand the airport concessions pay taxes up the wazoo for the privilege of serving harried travelers. I'm sorry that Zov is so hard up for cash that instead of providing travelers with a good meal, she's making us pay almost double what items are work, she's hiring people who don't give a damn about customers, and she can't even make sure items on the shelves are priced right. I'll head back to my favorite Zov's in Tustin, enjoy the fresh food, the sound of the fountain, the amazing chocolate desserts. I'll never set food in Zov's airport spot again. read more

I got the chance to order the eggs and bacon sandwich . The other items on the menu looked good but it was morning time. The sandwich was OK because it tasted fresh with large amounts of ingredients of egg , avocado and bread. It was lacking a sauce though so it did not make the sandwich special. Even for airport food, Zov's is waaay overpriced. I stopped in for breakfast before an early flight and after and inordinate time waiting (while I waited people went to Subway, got their sandwiches, finished them, and left), I finally got a breakfast wrap (basically Zov's version of a breakfast burrito). The wrap was actually pretty good but between the terrible wait and mediocre service, I cannot recommend Zov's at all. If you have a ton of time to kill Zov's might be ok, but if you have that much time you might as well just go to Javier's next door for better food, service, and atmosphere. read more

Two stars for the lentil soup. Zovs is one of my favorite restaurants, the one in Tustin. The airport grab n go.. Not so much. Isn't there anywhere in the airport to get good service and good food? We ordered flat bread tomato basil pizza and lentil soup. The pizza wouldn't fit in the hexagon plastic container so she sliced off one end and laid it on top of the hot cheesy flat bread...well you can imagine the mess of trying to take it off! Bread was toasted correctly however all the ingredients were cold. Not a good sandwich. I should have walked a few more steps and ate at Subway. At least you know what you're getting. No domestic bottled water available. Only water comes from Fiji or Iceland. Tried to explain transporting water thousands of miles creates green house gases. If I could give a negative star to this establishment, I would. Compared to the other stuff at the airport, I figured we can't go wrong with this place. It seemed like a "healthier" alternative. Oh boy was I wrong! I got FOOD POISONED from this place! What a mistake eating this crap right before my flight. I had the worst stomach cramps on the entire flight (1hour) and just kept feeling worse and worse as time went by. As soon as we landed, we called an uber, within 10 minutes of being in the car I had him pull over. I couldn't even make it to the bathroom! We made multiple stops until we finally got to the hotel. I thought everything was out of my system until I ran to the bathroom as my husband was checking us in. My poor husband was going to a work conference and I went with him only to have him concerned about me the entire trip. All I did was break out in cold sweats, shiver and shake, had major nausea, and diarrhea NON-STOP. What a "trip." Clearly won't be forgetting this one.
