Cacio e Pepe with Crispy, Spicy Prosciutto and Arugula
    Raia S.

The cacio e pepe with spicy prosciutt and arugula really changed my opinion of this place, which we've tried multiple times and I always thought it was good but not amazing. This dish was the perfect level of creamy and not too heavy on the pepe, balanced perfectly by the crispy and fresh add-ons. The bolognese is quite good as well, and the meatballs are decent, but I think the c & p is the standout here. I love that they have a fun different pasta shape each day too, this one was my favorite like little stacked lasagna pieces almost. Good to know there's an affordable staple pasta around.

Great for a quick meal as well as some quick home ingredients. Only drawback is there is a small 2 person bench indoors. The more outside space heated seating.

A review for takeout. I was excited to try Pasta Louie as it came very highly recommended by friends. We ordered foccacia, Louie's lasagna, cacio e pepe, and the classic red sauce. The lasagna was my fave - thin slices of tomatoes between layers breaking up otherwise heavy layers of pasta, cheese, and sauce. The remaining items were underwhelming - the fresh pasta itself was good, shape was fun, but by no means life changing. The sauces themselves were fine, very lightly coating the pasta. The focaccia was alright, on the saltier side, but soft and fluffy. Perhaps because the meal was in takeout form, it did not meet my expectations. I was namely disappointed in the quantity of sauce, and also the quantity of food in general. Despite this, I would have expected the same quantity, quality, and attention to take out meals as given to dine-in meals.

2.5 stars and rounding up due to the excellent service I received on my one dine-in visit. Having eaten at the restaurant once and gotten delivery another time, I can say with confidence that this isn't the pasta place for me, and I must confess that I don't understand the hype when there are vastly superior pasta spots in the area. Their pasta was kinda gummy and doughy. Their sauces were either bland or extremely oily. Or worse, both. I've had the spicy red pesto sauce (truly the worst offender of them all), the short rib ragu, and the classic roasted tomato sauce. I also tried the cacio e pepe with breadcrumbs, and it was fine but not memorable. I enjoyed the crispy prosciutto bits and burrata, but those are pricey toppings, and this is a pasta place. I will say that their focaccia topped with whipped ricotta and fennel oil was very tasty, as was the banana bread sundae for dessert, but their pasta and everything adjacent to it was disappointing and overpriced to me.

I am OBSESSED with three things from Pasta Louise Cafe: the pasta salad, the soft serve and the banana bread. I buy these three things all the time because they're so good. The pasta salad is delicious. The noodle changes daily and the vegetables are seasonal, so I never get bored of it. I eat the pasta salad probably once a week and gobble it down in one sitting. The soft serve is amazing. There's a new flavor every week, but the vanilla is always available. I usually get a combo of the vanilla and the weekly flavor. Also you must try the banana bread sundae - I'm not sure if this is at the cafe or the restaurant down the street but it's incredible. Banana bread is the best in Brooklyn. It's just so yummy. You can buy a to-go box with a few slices in it. And like I said, the banana bread sundae is to die for. They also have salads, beverages, fresh pasta, sauces, bread, etc. which are all amazing. These three things are just my favorite so I wanted to give them a little love. Enjoy!

One of my favorite pasta place in Brooklyn! They serve fresh handmade pasta daily. Honestly most of there options are yum. I will say it was a bit salty, but overall still very delicious and fresh. Service was quick. Ambiance is pleasing and clean. Price is a bit high but you are paying for fresh pasta. Overall, I still would recommend this place.

Salted Caramel swirled with Vanilla First time visit, charming spot, sweet service, and gorgeous fresh pastas. Had mine with a side of homemade soft serve. 10/10

    Spicy Red Pesto with Burrata
    Mosa H.

Good pasta but too expensive for what you get. I paid $22 for this bowl. The spicy red pesto was tasty, a little spicier than I expected. I also could've used more sauce, I found myself scraping the sides of the to-go bag. I paid an extra $5 for the burrata but it was disappointingly rubbery, it didn't pop or melt really. I would probably buy a pasta sauce to take home but not sure I would pay these prices for takeout.

Absolutely loved my lunch here -- what can I say or post about that hasn't already been shared? But, sure, I'll rave about the pasta and citrus salad too because they were just delicious!! I must also praise Jayden, our server, who was just exceptional in demeanor, customer service and overall good vibes! I strangely came here thinking I wouldn't eat a lot of pasta (don't ask that even means going to a place with "Pasta" in the name...), but I am so glad I did not hold back and enjoyed the pasta to the fullest!!! We had the special of the day which was a pasta with a cream sauce and added crispy pancetta and burrata -- I know, it was a no brainer. It was delicious delicious and I could taste the butter and happiness with each bite. I'll also put in a plug for the creamy dreamy mint iced coffee. As if the pasta (and a citrus salad) weren't enough, I then tangled with the banana bread and ice cream + added a caramel drip. This would be the only thing I'd say is okay to skip if you're too stuffed, else wise, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose at Pasta Louise! Many thanks to Jayden and Pasta Louise for the wonderful experience and delicious food!

It's a real pleasure to write this review for many reasons. Pasta Louise is everything it says it is and then some. I've been trying to get to Pasta Louise for several years now and I'm so pleased that I was able to experience it during NYC Restaurant Week. I made an after work reservation but arrived a bit early. When I arrived, it was as if they were waiting for me and that always gets my dining experience off to a great start. I do need to mention that outdoor dining is still in full swing and it's heated. I was seated outside but this was made clear during the reservation process. Clearly, if you're going to Pasta Louise, you are going for the pasta. I would recommend that you take a look at their menu and familiarize yourself with the pasta options before you arrive. I mention this become they have many options and combinations. If you don't have a chance to study the menu, the staff will guide you. The staff is very friendly and knowledge and I'm confident they will be able to answer any questions you may have about their pasta, sauces and history. Even offer all that, if you still can't decide, they have a pasta of the day that is sure to please.

    Summer pasta salad
    Amanda D.

After my one trip her for lunch with my family I really can't underestimate why this place has a waiting list 24/7. The idea of this place is cool, everyday they pick one pasta shape to make fresh and that is the only shape they use that day. Great to introduce you to new and fun shapes. For the day we went it was flat rigatoni type shape. I went with the summer pasta salad. It was actually very good, wish they skipped the fresh bread crumbs on top because half way through they are soggy and not great. I did love all the different veggies in Thai, very seasonal. My grandma went with one of the egg focaccia sandwiches. It is honestly just a square egg on cold focaccia bread with some grated cheese on top. Very disappointing and over all not worth it. Talking about not worth it! Skip the pizza bread. $5 for a small slice of focaccia with some tomatoes and mozzarella on it. We ordered one for the table and didn't realize it wasn't enough for two people let alone 4. Shouldn't the waiter have said something when we ordered it for the table. Such a rip off. I was also annoyed that they didn't have any protein options besides prosciutto for lunch. Why can't I get a meatball at 1???

My date with the chocolate brownie + simple vanilla soft serve.
    Jenny C.

Great place for a great pasta dish if you're on a budget. Prices go from $13 (if you don't add anything to $20+ depending on what you add... in my case the crispy prosciutto was a must) Their pasta dishes are a surprise because they only make one fresh type of pasta which is good to know because if you're craving spaghetti you're probably not going to get it (chances are low) The great part of their dessert is that it's very light and airy and as a person who prefers a less sweet treat, I really appreciate the sugar portion of this. It's simple but delectable. A brownie with soft serve. It comes out warm and will warm your soul while sitting outside cause I really needed it... the heaters didn't do me much justice here but all for fresh pasta, right?

I haven't tried them all, obviously -- too many coffee shops -- but what I have tried, and come back to, over and over, is the products of the amazing team at Posto. It's not just about the skillfully made drinks or the balance of flavors, the fresh, Italian-style coffee or the filled-to-order Italian donuts and Maritozzos (iykyk) -- it's the overall ambience. You come here to put down the screen and enjoy the moment. So often do we rush through our coffees, or even bring them to meetings, at the beck and call of the city's hustle. But at Posto the kind, talented, customer-first team asks you to slow down and escape all of that, to savor every sip of coffee in the classic Italian style. Walking in feels more like a poem than a cafe. Gone are the transactional, disingenuous "how are you's" and instead you get to discover all sorts of fun barista (and bar) creations, Tuscan products, and fresh pasta. The servers and owner are always read to provide a recommendation, and like in Italian cafes, they bring whatever treats and drinks you land on to you. (My favorite aperol spritz is also from Posto.) Outside, the peaceful garden hosts two large umbrellas. It's vibrant, as if you're in a neighbor's backyard and they are willing to share a colorful moment with you, birds chirping overhead. As I finished the last drop of my cappuccino this morning, I realized that forty-five minutes had passed, and every sip of coffee was just as good as the last. Thank you!

The things I usually look for in a coffee shop: a friendly neighborhood vibe, a nice place to work,…read morea stellar brew, and perhaps a delectable snack to go with it. I don't feel like Un Posto hits the nail on the head for any of these. The menu is incredibly confusing--one part is on a chalk board, another is written under the countertop, another two are printed out next to the register and they all say different things without explanations of what any of the drinks even are. I spent at least 10 minutes letting other folks in front of me at the counter because I was paralyzed by choices I didn't understand, luckily the baristas were able to provide clarity on some of them. They have cocktails, coffee cocktails, coffee drinks, and several food menus. We came hungry, only to see the sandwich menu taken away because they were out (this was at 3 pm, and they close at 7). This is such a New York thing, but if you're selling cocktails and groceries until the evening, running out of mortadella sandwiches is not the same as when Radio Bakery sells out by noon... Maybe it's me but I'm not particularly looking to get a plate of prosciutt and burrata with my coffee (which is what they had left), and the sandwiches here are supposed to be amazing and were the main reason why we chose this place. We had come here to co-work, but saw that there were no laptops allowed, not even in a specific window, just period. I take issue with this because for some of us, coffee shops are vital spaces not to get sucked into the void of our screens but to write, share ideas, and work in the company of our support system. The coffee I got was an Italian iced coffee with no milk and almond syrup, pretty good but a smallish portion. My friend's latte was white, and tasted like foamy milk with just a hint of espresso... very odd. Usually that cool pretentious European vibe results in delicious food and drink, so I expected to be blown away, but it was just okay. Some of the higher-up staff are quite snippy, doesn't seem like the kind of place where if you're a regular people know your name and want to chat. The accusatory sign in the bathroom really says it all. The best part of this place is the gorgeous back patio, but it's harder to enjoy it when you've walked into a place that already makes you feel like you don't belong there, implying you're a toilet-clogging laptop addict who doesn't know any coffee lingo. I could see stopping in to pick up some fresh pasta and grabbing a cappuccino to go, but what's the fun in that?

Like the conchiglie lemon squeezer, penne pan holder, and the mafaldine kitchen ties. This review may be spoiling someone's gift coming up, but such is life. All that aside, I'd still come in if it was a panini counter and nothing more. There is an extensive menu of options that I am only starting to make my way through. My first choice was the Parma, which is a generous amount of homemade pork shoulder, fresh tomato, truffle pecorino cheese cream, and a little drizzle of truffle oil as well. It was hot, it was rich, it was delicious. It came recommended by the lovely woman behind the counter, who was very sweet, if not very talkative. There's even a backyard and seating area if you don't want to take it home. If I had any criticism for Tavola, it's minor: I would like some acid on that sandwich to cut the richness (some pickled red onions would go a long way), and I would like everything in the market to be about 20% less expensive, because I want it all and I could really only afford a sandwich and some very nice pasta that I'm excited to make.
