I order their freeze dried natto all the time and I pretty much eat it every day. I love it.

Chieko is a kind, lovely human being, and her natto is the best we've ever had.

This place is definitely one of my go-tos for cheese if I'm in the area - and they will let you taste/sample cheeses that you're curious about. They also often have samples of one or cheeses, as well as samples of other foods, on a display table near where you enter the store. There's also a good selection of crackers, Jams and preserves, beer,non-alcholic beverages. They sell breads from She Wolf Bakery and they often have cookies from The Good Batch. This is a great place to stop in if you're already in the area but if you're not it's worth making a special trip over just to check it out! Chances are you'll find something that you like (and a lot that you're tempted by)

This place is my personal treasure chest of cheeses, meats, and little delights I didn't know I needed until I saw them. The staff is truly wonderful: warm, patient, and impressively knowledgeable. I always arrive puzzled by the sheer number of incredible options, and they always guide me to the perfect picks. Honestly, they know more about cheese than anyone I've ever met, and thanks to them, I walk out with bags of greatness and the promise of an amazing night ahead. And whatever you do, don't sleep on their sandwiches. They're crafted with the same magic touch. A gem in Park Slope, through and through.

I haven't tried them all, obviously -- too many coffee shops -- but what I have tried, and come back to, over and over, is the products of the amazing team at Posto. It's not just about the skillfully made drinks or the balance of flavors, the fresh, Italian-style coffee or the filled-to-order Italian donuts and Maritozzos (iykyk) -- it's the overall ambience. You come here to put down the screen and enjoy the moment. So often do we rush through our coffees, or even bring them to meetings, at the beck and call of the city's hustle. But at Posto the kind, talented, customer-first team asks you to slow down and escape all of that, to savor every sip of coffee in the classic Italian style. Walking in feels more like a poem than a cafe. Gone are the transactional, disingenuous "how are you's" and instead you get to discover all sorts of fun barista (and bar) creations, Tuscan products, and fresh pasta. The servers and owner are always read to provide a recommendation, and like in Italian cafes, they bring whatever treats and drinks you land on to you. (My favorite aperol spritz is also from Posto.) Outside, the peaceful garden hosts two large umbrellas. It's vibrant, as if you're in a neighbor's backyard and they are willing to share a colorful moment with you, birds chirping overhead. As I finished the last drop of my cappuccino this morning, I realized that forty-five minutes had passed, and every sip of coffee was just as good as the last. Thank you!

Most recently, I went in as I saw on their social media they sold unique tins of fish (pictured) from countries like Portugal. I purchased tinned sardines, squid in tomato sauce, horse mackerel and scallops, along with a really cute Hanukkah themed card for a friend. I've only tried the sardines but they were awesome on toast. The shop itself is small but carries a good variety of dry goods, and refrigerated items near the back. I've also tried one of their sandwiches and one of their pre prepared pastas which were divine, with the quality of ingredients standing out to me the most. Staff is always friendly as well. I'd come back here any day of the week!

Like, we-think-you-don't-have-a-day-job kind of late. Noon-ish. On a Tuesday. I don't know who their target demographic is, but it's not anyone with a functioning calendar. When you do manage to show up during their elusive open hours, you're greeted by... well, "greeted" is generous. The staff makes you feel like you interrupted their private cheese cult meeting. Don't expect warm conversation -- unless you're the cheddar. There are free samples, which I respect. If you're feeling broke and brave, you could turn it into a little snack crawl. And the cheese? It's fine. Not bad. Not transcendent. Just... cheese. Maybe you'll find something aged and interesting, or maybe you'll walk out wondering if Trader Joe's would've hit the same for less. It is mandatory for stores to visibly display their return policy at the cash register. 'The Bad Wife' failed to do so.
