Solid steakhouse with all the expected items on the menu. I sort of wish they had better steak topping options and more creative sides. Cocktails were very good. Great option for a special occasion dinner. read more

They have a restaurant week menu so I ordered from there. I ordered the lobster crepe for appetizer, filet mignon for the main course, and vanilla bean ice cream / chocolate lava cake for dessert. Food: The lobster crepe makes a great appetizer. Aside from my medium rare filet mignon just slightly more cooked than I like, it was still very tasty, and I enjoyed the sauce it came with. The mashed potatoes underneath really soaked up the juices giving it that great mix. The vanilla bean ice cream is excellent! Service: Our servers are definitely attentive and friendly. Our server always checked up on us, and was very helpful. Our drinks were never empty. They made a slight mistake on our bill, but it was great service overall. read more

Parkway Grill - Lobster crepe. Filet mignon. Vanilla bean ice cream / chocolate lava cake. - New American Near Me - Pasadena, California

With its fancy schmancy atmosphere and romantic ambiance, the Parkway Grill is definitely a great place for intimate dining, celebrating an anniversary or any special occasion. I recently came here for dinner with friends and had a delightful and fun evening. Everything made fresh and exceptional good quality. They even have an organic vegetables and herb garden behind the restaurant. Good service - staff was friendly and helpful. Prices are a moderately expensive $30 average for entrees. We made reservation an hour before and were seated immediately once everyone from our party arrived. There bar lounge is cozy and inviting. Good tasting cocktails and made strong. Plus they carry a good selection of wines that pairs well with their everyday specials. Started off the evening by ordering their tiger shrimp corn dogs and dates wrapped in bacon with brussel sprouts which were both outstanding and highly recommend, especially their bacon wrapped dates. The sweetness from the dates and smoky bacon was so scrumptiously good. It paired perfectly well with beer and white wine. The complimentary assortment of artisan type breads that came in different shapes was a nice treat as well. For entrees, I ordered the pan roasted salmon and organic field green salad. The salmon was cooked to perfection and delicious. The mushroom ragout and red wine reduction sauce was incredibly tasty, enhancing the flavor of the salmon which I truly enjoyed. Accompanied with sauteed green beans with bacon, it was a very memorable and tasty meal. One of my friends ordered the whole deep fried catfish which looked incredibly huge and intimidating to look at. Served with soy ponzu sauce, rice and mint cucumber relish, it was definitely an east meets west kind of meal; so delicious, tender and flavorful. Other great dishes that we ordered include the Lamb chops with Peruvian mashed potatoes and braised short ribs with port-truffle veal glaze. Make sure to save room for dessert cause their creme brulee napoleon is decadent and yummy. Just the plate presentation alone will have you drooling and salivating. The layers of crispy phyllo squares with vanilla bean custard and caramel sauce was so elegantly prepared and beautifully stacked. My mouth was in desert heaven after one bite - sweet, lightly crispy and creamy. Overall 4 - Although a bit pricey, the atmosphere, good service and excellent food was worth it. It was definitely worth the splurge and I can't wait to come back. Parking - valet only read more

This was one of the more disappointing restaurant experiences this year. The only thing that kept me from giving a lower rating was the food, it was pretty good. However, the service and consistency of a place that should maintain a minimum quality standard was very disappointing. First, I'll mention what we liked. The food was pretty good. We had the catfish, short rib and pasta, all of which was pretty good, not great, a bit bland, but not terrible. The layout and ambiance of the restaurant was nice. It felt old, but not in a bad way. Our waiter at the beginning was helpful and the live piano music was a really nice experience. And of course, one of the best parts of the meal was the bread. All in all, pretty good. This restaurant attracts an older crowd, many of the customers were still in their suits and ties from work and a number seemed to be colleagues or clients discussing business, which is fine, it's just more of a corporate feel, especially on a weekday, but I assume that the weekend is different. Now to the disappointing aspects of our experience. As soon as we sat down, I noticed that our menus were dirty. I had a gross thing of dried up sauce and food on my menu, on the entree page. It's not a big deal, but when you come to this kind of restaurant, you hope they would take care of such details. That already made me worry about the service, and rightly so. Next, our waiter (a relatively young guy) came to our table a total of three times, first to ask if we wanted to order drinks, then to take our order. After that, we never saw him again until around the end to ask about the food and get the check. It was very confusing, who was tending to our table? No one asked us, how we were doing? No one came to refill the water? (we sat for about 45 minutes without a refill) And it was different staff who came to give us menus, different staff who brought the food, different staff who came by later to check on us. We also had to ask for a dessert menu, it's like they forgot us or something, perhaps that's this place's style, but I hate to have to get up and ask for things in a place claiming to be fine dining. The management of this restaurant seemed to be in disarray. It was like people helping each other out, but no visible or noticeable manager or management. I wondered if there was any accountability, seemed that staff could just serve and do whatever they want. This made me very concerned about food quality and service. And it was also strange, there is no salt or pepper on the table and I mentioned earlier that the food is relatively bland so I wanted some salt and pepper, and I had noticed that freshly ground pepper was being offered to the table next to us, so after looking around for 5-10 minutes for a staff to be available, I finally flagged down a guy in white (not our waiter) and asked him for fresh pepper. However, when he arrived, he didn't offer me fresh pepper as I requested, he just gave me pepper from a pepper shaker, and when I told him I actually wanted the fresh one from the grinder just like he did for the table next to us, he argued with me that fresh pepper and this pepper is the same thing. I was puzzled, but I just told him I don't want to argue about it, and I'll take whatever. And then a minute later (I guess he thought about it) he ran to go get his fresh pepper grinder. I absolutely HATE when staff think they can treat customers like that, but I guess it happens especially in places like this, and it seemed partially caused by what I mentioned before, seems there's no management and thus no accountability. We tried their version of a creme brulee. Honesty, I tried to like it, as everyone on yelp raves about it, but I found it too sweet, and pretty much nothing special and far less impressive than a real creme brulee. I guess it would have been fine if this were Cheesecake Factory, but for this place, I expected something much more complex. The food and dessert here was just bland and not worthy of the hype, nor price. I might return here again either to give it another chance, or since there's not that many choices in the area, but it really needs to work on service and consistency. It is clearly not worthy of anything more than 3 stars. It's places like this that have enabled chains like Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill to thrive, they are simply not consistent, overpriced and arrogant, thinking that people will keep coming back because they always have. Again, perhaps it was also just an off-night for them, but hope it's better next time. read more

Definitely a gem in Pasadena. The food here always represents the best in a food experience. This restaurant has always been consistent with both quality and service. I've enjoyed numerous items on the menu and I have enjoyed the flavors and presentation. I always feel that each plate was prepared with pride, from the appetizer to the entree. I appreciate their unique take on specials, providing you with a great eating experience. The bar area with the piano is an added plus. This is a great place to enjoy an after-dinner drink or dessert with music. The entire staff is friendly and observant to any special needs. If you're not sure of what you should have, they are knowledgeable and have great suggestions. The clientele is diverse and eclectic. They have valet parking as well as parking on the street. Always a great experience. read more

I think this is the first fancy-pants restaurant I've reviewed on Yelp. I mean, I literally was wearing my fancy pants. Anyway, the food. I ordered the filet mignon (cliche, I know) and my girlfriend ordered the special of the day scallops. Filet mignon was in a mushroom sauce, and was perfectly cooked. The scallops were in a lemon butter sauce, and they were also perfectly cooked. The flavors themselves were a bit uninspiring, but if you order traditional fare, you'll get traditional flavors. Service was quick and friendly.' The restaurant itself was very beautiful. Airy and busy, but still romantic and not too loud. Also, the chocolate lava cake was literally the best dessert I have ever tasted anywhere. It's that good. Simple, but so well-executed that I just wanted more. I'd definitely come back here for a special occasion. I wonder if we could just order 3 lava cakes a piece. read more

Parkway Grill - New American Near Me - Pasadena, California

Absolutely amazing food here without a doubt! It's so good that I keep craving more & looking at the pictures of the food in order to satisfy my hunger! I went for a late dinner around 8:30PM on a weekday. There is a complementary valet. The atmosphere is really nice! Very open compared to a lot of similar places. I went to their next door sister restaurant Arroyo Chophouse a couple months prior & it has a more secluded & private feel. Parkway can have the private vibe if desired, but I can also see it being suitable for families. I actually saw kids having dinner with their parents, so I don't really understand how some of these reviews state that it's full of old people lol. It is a slightly pricey fine dining establishment though, so you won't see early 20-somethings like myself around here as often. As for the food, the best part, oh my God please someone go with me so I can eat here again! Seriously! I ordered a medium-rare filet mignon $42 dinner price. It was cooked to perfection. It did seem quite smaller than average though. The Marsala-veal reduction was definitely to die for & truly brought the whole dish together. Mashed potatoes were great, roasted asparagus was awesome. I never even eat asparagus & I enjoyed eating them here! For drinks, I got a glass of some Sauvignon blanc which was from New Zealand. It was wonderful & tasted much crisper since it had a little dash of some grapefruit as told by the waiter. Get New Zealand over the Napa. Awesome experience here. One of the few places where I cleaned the whole plate! read more

Food was fantastic ! I got the filet mignon and it was amazing and to top it off , we got a free dessert

Came here last night for a business dinner. We were 15 deep so we got to sit at that beautiful table off to the side that's surrounded by windows. If you get the chance to sit in that area, take advantage of it. It's really nice & different from the rest of the restaurant. A little background... Parkway grill is owned by the Smith brothers who own a slew of restaurants in Pasadena - Arroyo Chop House, Seco, Smitty's, Cheval Bistro - all of which are very good but my favorite of the bunch is Chop House. The last time I walked in, it felt like I'd been transported to 1980. I was just waiting to see a woman walking around with a perm, a scrunchie in her hair & a black, velvet off the shoulder dress. Thankfully they seem to have updated it at least a little bit. Ambiance here is really good. This is just ones of those places that screams "let's get hammered & worry that we spent $100+ in drinks later". Decent drinks menu - I feel the drinks at Chop House are better but it also could have been an off night. The grapefruit juice in my greyhound didn't look or taste like the quality I'm used to/have had in the past here. As far as the food goes, I had the tomato, burrata & prosciutto salad, what I'm calling the $40 halibut (translation: wild Alaskan halibut, Israeli couscous, dates, almonds, peas & cheese) & the chocolate bread pudding. The salad was good but all you really need are good quality ingredients for this to be a winner, which they had. Once I salted the tomatoes in the salad, it was really good. The $40 halibut was good as well but didn't blow my socks off (which is good because I wasn't wearing socks). Chocolate bread pudding was a bit too rich for me but my co-workers crème brûlée napoleon was fantastic! That's the dessert to order here, skip the rest. This place definitely isn't cheap! I definitely don't mind paying good money for good food but, I'm sensible & no halibut is worth $40. This didn't prove me otherwise either. Overall the food here is good but not amazing. For the price it really needs to be 5 stars & it just was not. That being said, it's a good place for a special night out or business dinners. read more

We went to a cooking class today with Chef Lalo, Polly, and Ron and learned some cool recipies such as flatbread with cheese, pears, and walnuts (we may now abandon the artisan pizzas at Domino's!); roasted chicken with figs, and lemon butter sauce; goat cheese mashed potatoes; and bananas foster. Chef Lalo demonstrated all the steps and gave easy instructions for the dishes, including useful kitchen tips. Throughtout the class, Ron kept our glasses full with juice, soda and champagne. Chef Lalo also shared his very inspirational story of achieving his position in the kitchen as head chef. It was lots of fun, and at the end, we got to eat our fruits of labor (well we didn't actually labor over it, the Chef and his staff knew we'd make a mess of their kitchen, so they cooked it for us!). read more

I have to say that my meal here for dine LA was an awesome surprise. My dine LA meal came with their "corn dog tiger shrimp", filet mignon, and their napolean creme brulee with salted caramel sauce. The meal just delivered on every level. The ambiance and services was great. The corn dog tiger shrimp was fun and the steak was flawless. The napolean creme brulee with salted caramel was probably one of the best desserts I've ever had. I want to come back here just to taste that again. read more

Came here yesterday for a wholehearted attempt at dineLA but ended up choosing one dineLA set and one separate entrée (scallops) from the menu. From the dineLA menu we got the shrimp corndogs (comes in a set of three. one is enough to taste and enjoy but any more is a bit excessive), the filet mignon (nothing special but at least the mashed potatoes it came with tasted good), and the crème brûlée (best thing we had here). The scallops came in a set of three as well but it was so. salty. It was $40+ to my best memory so it was definitely a disappointment. I don't know what made people come back to this place or rate it well, but it may be the service, which was very attentive and considerate, or the ambience, which can be a great group-gathering spot or even a romantic date-setting. The food though? Not good in my book. read more

Came for DineLA and had reasonably high expectations considering how expensive this place is normally. Honestly though, I was probably most impressed by the breadbasket and the desert. Everything in between was kinda meh... Talking about bread, I liked that the breadbasket had variety of choices with a mix of soft, crunchy, sweet and chewy options. The sourdough and cranberry were my faves. For appetizers, we had the tiger shrimp corn dogs which were basically just shrimp egg rolls. Whoever named this dish deserves to get slapped. Taste was nothing to rave about. Also got the burratta tomato salad which was good. For my entree I got the filet mignon which was amazingly tender but surprisingly lacking flavor. It was literally cut with your fork tender but one of the blandest restaurant steaks I've ever had. Didn't taste meaty at all and a heavy dose of salt and pepper couldn't save it. For dessert, the lemon tart was way too sour I thought. The Napoleon Creme Brûlée however was the highlight of the night. All the flavors of a creme brûlée but the fun construction of a Napoleon dessert. Delicious. read more

Was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and our server Omar was wonderful. A bit pricey but a great meal.

Parkway grill is located in the same lot as Arroyo Chophouse. They offer valet parking when you drive in or you can park in the back yourself. Whether you are here on a date or dining with friends, plan your meals out and definitely share. Their dishes offer mixtures of flavors from French to Thai. They start you out with a really nice arrangement of bread. (Cornbread, Bread sticks, Sourdough, Wheat) *Don't feast on appetizer and bread alone.. or you'll be too full before the main course. Appetizers: - Tiger Shrimp Corn Dog (4): Served with creamy mustard dipping sauce and topped with sweet and sour sauce, giving it a nice twist. A Must try! - Lobster Crepe: Resting in creamy tomato paste with real chunks of lobster in each bite. Not my favorite but it was quite unique. - Blue Crab Cake: I would say this was purely made with crab meat. Must try! - Bacon Wrapped Date Screwers with Brusselsprout: A little strong on the soy sauce. Main course (If you're like me and refer to pictures on yelp, this place serves their meals on giant plates so pictures might throw the proportions off a little.) - Lamb Shank: A Chef's special. Tender, juicy, falls right off the bone. Must try! - Fillet Mignon: Medium rare cooked as requested. Served with smoked mash potato and topped with mushroom wine sauce. - New York Steak: Perfect cut, not too chewy, cooked as requested. - Deep-Fried Whole Catfish: Not too oily and easy to de-bone. Definitely big enough to share. Served with rice/soy sauce and steamed veggies. Dessert: - Napoleon Creme brûlée: Mmmm... the phyllo took the creme brulee to another level. Crisp and Creamy. Not too sweet. Overall great experience! read more

I came to Parkway Grill for lunch last week. Was a little frustrated at first because I couldn't flip a U turn and we were going south so we had to do some weird detour to get there. When we finally got there, I was mag because I only saw valet- i learned later that it was complimentary. Anyway, came in and was very quickly greeted by the hostess who confirmed our reservation and sat us immediately. Shortly after, the water came by to introduce himself while he was running some food- just to let us know that he knew we were there. I appreciated that. We got a complimentary bread basket which i enjoyed because it was very unique in a sense that, the wasn't just bread. There was a great variety with some being just plain rolls, and then there was some spicy, cheesy cracker type bread. It was just awesome. I could eat that all day. We order the lobster crepe which was very tasty. The lobster was light and buttery. The crepe was sitting in a creamy tomato sauce. Deeeelicious. The pan roasted salmon was good but just a little underwhelming and maybe roasted a little too long. My husband enjoyed the green bean and mushroom combination... but thats not supposed to be the star of that plate. We both really enjoyed the braised short ribs, it was literally falling off the bone. The meat was so tender and melt in you mouth... we really couldn't get enough of it. The sauce and juices saw well with the mashed potatoes but man, those ribs... Overall, I enjoyed my visit, and will probably be back to try some other stuff. The service was excellent, the location was clean, AND the bathroom had mouth wash. You guys are winners. I'll be back! read more

I'm confused about some of the negative reviews here. We've never had anything other than a great meal and service, and tonight was no exception. In fact, tonight was especially good. First of all, the restaurant was PACKED. The bar had standing room only, and the dinner crowd was pouring in. On a Wednesday night. Setting was beautiful as usual. My basil lime martini was yummy! Alas, had to stop at just one since I was the driver. I ordered the lobster crepe, arugula salad, and the filet mignon. Hubby had the short ribs, mother-in-law had the halibut. All were well executed and delicious. Filet melted in my mouth. Our server Ron (head waiter) was great. Personable, good sense of humor, and gave great recommendations. When it came time for dessert, Ron suggested the creme brulee. I opted for the s'mores instead, because the creme brulee sounded weird to me (it is served as a napolean, not a traditional brulee). Guess what, Ron brought the s'mores AND the creme brulee on the house, because he really wanted us to try it. And it was delicious. Way better than the s'mores. When the meal was over, he brought my mother-in-law and me some beautiful flowers as a parting token! Now that's what I call good service. The Smith brothers know what they're doing. Parkway Grill helped make my birthday a special one. This restaurant is very classy from ambiance to service. My boyfriend and I were very pleased. We made reservations for 8:30pm and there was no trouble seating us right away. They gave us a quiet table in the corner and a nice birthday card waiting for me on my plate personalized by the staff. They referred to my boyfriend formally by name from the reservation and made sure to recognize that it was my birthday right away. I felt very comfortable in the setting with everyone so polite. Everything we tried is highly recommended: - Grilled Filet Mignon, Yukon Gold "smoked" Mashed Potatoes - served with mushrooms and asparagus - Pan Roasted Salmon, French Green Beans - Also came with some bacon pieces, very flavorful! - For the appetizer we had the Tuna tar tar that was delicious - For dessert we had the creme brulee, which was different than the traditional, this one is stacked and a little harder to eat without making a bit of a mess. Still tasty nonetheless. Drinks: Both very good - Lemon basil martini - Oxnard mojito After the dinner, they brought me a cupcake with candle on it and surprised me with a bouquet of purple orchids! It was the cherry on top for my experience there. I would definitely come back again. read more

My boyfriend took me here to celebrate our anniversary. Normally, I'm the one yelping away and suggesting new restaurants to try and this time he wanted to give it a try. Poor guy did try really hard but this place just didn't hit the mark for me. Don't get me wrong, it's can be a nice place for many people so don't let the 2 stars discourage you from still trying. It just wasn't my thing. First of all, I felt completely out of place being in that restaurant. I'm 22 years old. This restaurant had more of an "older" vibe being that everyone there was at least 50 years old besides my boyfriend and me. The waiter was nice but there was a few times we had to flag her down. She also mistaken that we were there to celebrate a birthday when it was actually an anniversary. I work in customer service myself and have high expectations. Those little things bother me. She made up for it at the end when she came by with 3 orchids and said "Congratulations on your anniversary." The food can be a hit or miss. My boyfriend got the short rib. I wish I had ordered that. The meat was so soft and tender! I ordered the pan roasted salmon with a side order of smoked mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes was like nothing I have ever tasted before. So good! The salmon? Sooooo fishy, blehhh! I'm normally not a picky eater; I can eat anything. But it was a pain to eat this salmon. For dessert, my boyfriend got the lava cake and I got s'mores. The lava cake was yummy! The s'mores was interesting. It has a raspberry sauce which is different. It wasn't the greatest, but it also wasn't the worse. Dinner for 2 came out to be $110. Would I ever come here again? I don't think so. The atmosphere wasn't for me. Do I recommend others to try? Yeah, why not? read more

My family and I were looking for a nice place to dine on a Thursday afternoon. My husband, Karim, was very excited for some fancy eating out. We were shortly given a reality check with that monstrosity of a menu. The menu was short and expensive. Half of the good you couldn't even understand what you were getting. My husband decided on the ribeye and was disappointed with the price and portion. The taste was good but not worth the 56$. I, Gogo Ganesha, decided to try the delectable pasta. It was just about flavourless. Do not recommend. #indianreview read more

As a Yelper, I'd like to say that you never like to give bad reviews, but you have to be objective, and unfortunately, today will have to be one of them. Let's get straight to the point. Asked the waiter for his recommendation, either the "white fish" or the "ginger deep fried catfish", and the catfish was the clear recommendation from the waiter, and was supposedly the house special. This flippin (no pun intended) fish was HUGE. Imagine a huge catfish, taken straight from the wild, and immedately dunked into a huge vat of oil, screaming and kicking for life as his inner organs begin to dry up and are fried away. They then serve this fish, piping hot onto a dish (with dipping sauce, of course), and present this dish infront of you. It's impressive to see, no doubt, but it honestly looked pretty damn scary and actually brown and nasty, looking. Unfortunately, it didn't taste any better and was pretty unimpressive. Out of our group of 12, 4 people ordered this dish, and all 5 wished they hadn't. It was dry, tasteless, and unimpressive which was actually a huge disappointment. I will say the one good thing about Parkway Grill was the CREME BRULEE. I would like to call myself a creme brulee snob because i try to make my own and try to never buy this at a restaurant since they're so overpriced. Somebody else ordered it and I tasted it, and my mind literally exploded, taste buds jumping all over the place. I want to go back just to have dessert. Oh my freaking god... So Parkway Grill, I had originally given you 2 stars, but your creme brulee was good enough to give you back 1 more, so you get 3 stars. Your ambiance is great (very beautiful during the holidays), but your main dishes were unimpressive. I'll return for dessert :) read more

I am writing this as an update to my recent post. The manager reached out to me and I was grateful for that. It was unexpected and I was pleasantly surprised. I requested an inside seating and was promptly seated at the location I had requested. The hostess was so mindful and very pleasant. Mind you, none of the staffers were aware of my poor experience from my last visit. Patrick was our server and he made the dining experience extremely lovely. He was so attentive the whole time. He would check on us frequently and allowed us to enjoy our meal. I felt as if we were treated like the only diners there when the restaurant was bustling. Patrick's service far exceeded my expectations. The other staffers who bussed the tables were very good about clearing the table after we completed each dish. As an appetizer we started with the shrimp hotdog....this dish is a must! The batter on the shrimp was perfectly seasoned. It came on a skewer and the presentation was just gorgeous. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and juicy. The dipping sauce was just out of this world. The bread basket had various types of bread and cheese crisps. It was quite addicting to eat. I had to save room for the main course. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and that was fantastic. There were so many clams in the bowl and it definitely was not watered down. With the cold temperatures outside, this was so soothing to eat. The linguine alfredo with shrimp was delicious. The alfredo sauce was not over-powering. The shrimp was large and cooked well. The linguine was perfectly cooked. The charred broccolini had so much flavor. I couldn't get enough of that. We also had the lobster risotto and scalloped potatoes. So much flavor and scrumptious. The sides were family style that I had to box them. The prime ribeye was cooked as we requested. The size of the ribeye was very generous and delicious. What really stood out was the service and how courteous the staff was. I definitely will be returning and recommend this high-end restaurant. read more

I went here on Christmas eve. The reservation was about 30 minutes over so our waiter was kind enough to get us some free cheesy bread when we got to the table. The place was decorated very beautifully with a lot of lights and it felt very festive. I got a delicious Moscow Mule at the bar while I was waiting. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating to the party of 15 that we had which included a four year old. I and up getting fish with beets on the side and it was okay for the price. I love this time of year, when DineLA rolls around. $28 for a 3 course meal. I'm in! On a thursday afternoon for lunch, boy was this place packed! FOOD Appetizers... Brick oven house flat bread with cambozola cheese, walnuts, sautéed pears - Huge portion for a starter. Definitely something to share. Pretty good, but not the best. CPK's version is better IMO. Dried figs and bacon flat bread with cabrales bleu cheese, caramelized onions - YUMMY! A great, savory dish. This was my friends order, thankfully I was able to sneak a piece. Next time, I'm ordering this one! **NOTE** Only given bread basket on request since we ordered an appetizer. Our server didn't automatically give us any. =( Bread basket was a mixed assortment. It had corn bread, sour dough, bread sticks, and some bread with nuts in it. It came with a side of butter and sea salt. I sprinkled a little salt on the bread to see if it was any good & surprisingly the salt added a little more zing to it. =) Entrees... Grilled kobe burger with maytag bleu cheese & sweet potato fries. - The burger was huge! It was a thick meat patty that was very juicy and cooked perfectly medium. Blue cheese was good, but the burger could have used a sauce. All the condiments (lettuce, tomato, red onions) were on the side. The bun was a fresh brioche bun. The sweet potato fries were crispy and well seasoned. Overall a pretty good burger. =) Grilled chicken on ciabatta with mustard aioli, pancetta chips, caramelized piquillo peppers, hass avocado & fries. My friends order & of course, i sneaked a bite. It was really tasty. Dessert... Crème brulee napoleon - crisp phyllo squares layered with vanilla bean custard and caramel sauce. Beautifully prepared & delicious dessert. It truly tasted like creme brulee. I loved the phyllo squares! Added such great texture. The sauce was a little too sweet for me, but thankfully it was mostly on the side. SERVICE Waitress was just okay. She took down the wrong order for my friends appetizer & never apologized for the mistake even though he had to watch me enjoy mine while his was fixed. The other servers who came frequently to refill drinks were very attentive. Never had our drinks go empty! =) AMBIANCE Classy, modern, & chic. Very nice spot for a lunch or even dinner. There is valet parking in front. No fee, just tip. =) Overall, great lunch & definitely would consider coming back! read more

My review is for this place as it stands in December of 2020. They have seating set up outdoors and it is very extensive - carpeting, tent, heaters, the works. The wait staff all wear masks + face shields + gloves. I felt very safe. Service was outstanding and the food and drinks are great. I had their scallops signature dish, and it was super tasty. We also tried a variety of appetizers, and for me, the standouts were the lamb lollipops (which came with killer potato balls) and the scalloped potatoes. You can't go wrong with any protein on their menu. They have a humongous cat fish and tomahawk steak. Drinks are great too - love their citrus basil martini. Wine list and scotch list is extensive. My favorite dessert is the chocolate lava cake. We were very glad to support them as I believe they are now being forced to close until we get over this surge. BTW, I did cruise through their interior, and it is very beautiful with an open kitchen and lots of great artwork. Can't wait to go back, hopefully in "normal" times. read more

Delicious food, great ambience and excellent service. What more could you ask in a restaurant!

I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday in january 2013. we had a very good experience with Parkway Grill. our Server was awesome and the our meals were delicious. We started off with a lobster bisque and the shrimp corn dogs for appetizers. The lobster bisque was alright but the shrimp corn dogs were really good. The shrimps were big and were fresh. They cooked the shrimp perfectly -- no mushyness. The sauce complemented well with the shrimps. My friend and I both ordered from their tonight's special menu I got the seared scallops on a bed of fettucine pasta and it was so good. The scallops were seared perfectly and the pasta was very flavorful. It wasn't rich where you get stuffed after a few bites. the portion was just right for the night. My friend got the salmon with couscous -- i thought her dish was okay but she liked it. We ended our night with a dessert - we got the Creme Brulee Napolean and it was DELICIOUS! love it!! it was super light not heavy, i think i could have finished one all on my own without sharing. (next time, i supposed) My friend got a free birthday cupcake and orchids from the restaurant, i thought that was really cool of them to do that. The atmosphere is great; if you sit near the bar they have live music playing. I definitely recommend this restaurants for parties, date nights, or just a night of celebration. Parking is valet only, but it's free; You just need to tip them. You can also find street parkings around the block, but i think the valet works just fine! read more

Parkway Grill responded and sent us a generous gift card so we could come back for another visit. It's nice to see a business that wants to make things right. Much appreciated. read more

Wow! What an amazing evening. I apologize for the delayed post, but better late than never. Where do I start??? First the ambiance was incredible they have their outdoor set up perfectly and honestly I really hope they keep it. My husband took me out for my birthday dinner on 10/14 and we had a wonderful evening. From the moment we arrived we were treated with top notch service. I was greeted with a birthday card and once we sat at our table our waiter Erick greeted us and it was great from there on. We started with Oysters on the half shell which were very good and fresh. For drinks we had martini's I had an extra dirty with blue cheese olives and hubby had a traditional vodka martini and the drinks were on point. I ordered the Rib Eye steak Med rare and hubby had the Filet Mignon medium plus and they cooked both of steaks beautifully. We have been to many local steak houses including Arroyo Chop House, Maestros Ocean Club, Maestros, BOA, Flemings, Ruth's Chris and Nick and Stefs and hands down this was the best. The steak was like butter. For the sides we had lobster risotto, broccolini and Au' gratin potatoes. All were equally yummy and my hubby isn't a veggie or risotto kinda guy and he loved them both. For dessert they sent me the creme brûlée, which was off the charts. All in all for our night out we had an amazing time and all of the staff including the manager, which unfortunately I can't remember her name :(, but everyone was very nice and we felt safe in this crazy Covid environment. We are looking forward to our next outing soon. Thank you Parkway Grill for making my birthday such a memorable experience. read more

Parkway grill is consistent, dishes are cooked correctly, the atmosphere is nice, and service is excellent. Parkway Grill is the more formal version of its sister restaurant Arroyo Chophouse. When I say things are cooked correctly, it surprises me how many restaurants make errors. Scallops, octopus, even chicken can be very tricky. I haven't seen Parkway make these errors whenever I've been here over the years. read more

When I lived in Pasadena, this was THE place to go for a special occasion or an all-out dining night. PG has the best blend of ambience, service, entree selection, food quality and wine list in the area, and I've dined a lot when I lived there. Yes, it's spendy. You won't get away with a cheap meal at Parkway, but you should leave with a memorable dining experience...it's the only restaurant in Pasadena I have in my cell phone, though part of that is the need to have a reservation on almost any night. Next time I'm in town, I'll definitely dine here! read more

I like Parkway Grill. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and not annoying and they give you a fair amount of privacy to just enjoy yourselves at your table. Favorites include the ahi tartar, the shrimp corndogs, black bean soup, wild field greens salad, the steak n the chicken. One time my sister's disgusting boyfriend ordered the catfish, which is a horrifying disgusting entire fish whose body you saw into n dissect as you eat it. Everytime I've seen this, I want to barf. Filet it n serve it but don't skewer the body next to me. Ugh. Overall, it's a good place that I like eating at. read more

If I could give 4 and a half stars I would. My husband and I ate here for our 1 year anniversary and it was a great place for a special meal. Food was excellent! We had the oysters on the half shell to start. They were excellent and came with all the traditional fixins. I had the spiked melon cocktail which was STRONG. My husband had the basil martini and it was excellent and very different. For the main courses I had the scallops with herb risotto and my husband had the filet with mashed potatoes and mushroom ragout. We shared with each other and both dishes were excellent. The filet was cooked perfect medium rare. For dessert my husband surprised me with the top of a wedding cake. The only problem, and the reason I didn't give them 5 stars, was they put candles in the cake! It was a beautifully designed wedding cake with plumeria flowers. My husband gave them the cake in advance and told them it was an anniversary surprise (not birthday). What I assume happened was in prep, someone put candles in the cake, the server went "oh no" but the damage was done so they went with it. It was no big deal, but my husband was disappointed I never got to see the pretty cake without candles in it. They were nice enough to give us a free scoop of ice cream to go with the cake, and we ordered Irish coffee to go with it. Again, they did not cheap out on the Irish Coffee. It too was very strong! Overall, it was an excellent meal. As a young couple, we were surprised that the clientele swayed much older than us. However, it makes sense because the food is old school, quality food. There is nothing hipster or overtly modern about the place, but that's what made it really nice! read more

We visited Parkway Grill at about 9:15PM on a Saturday night. We had a party of four, and it was personally my first visit to this restaurant. We arrived at our reservation time and we were seated promptly. The restaurant still seemed very busy at the time of our arrival. Three of the four people in our party participated in the DineLA week menu, which was a good value at $49 per person. I had the lamb lollipops for the appetizer, which were delicious in there own right; however, even extra special with the fig sauce. For my entree, I had the filet cooked medium. It was cooked perfect, with little to no fat, and it cut so easy. It was so tender and flavorful. Amazing! In fact, three of the four of us had the filet and we all thought it was delicious. For dessert I had the Smores which looked more like puff pastries when first presented; however, once you remember what you had ordered you realize that the puff pastries are actually marshmallows. The dessert again was delicious. A great meal with great service and a nice upscale but casual ambiance definitely allows me to give this restaurant an easy five stars. I will likely return again in the future. read more
