When you sit down they give you warm bread and a mix of pickles, beets, chickpeas, and coslaw. We ordered an order of wings. The buffalo wings were crispy and the buffalo was in the skin instead of a messy sauce which I liked. The blue cheese sauce wasn't that great. Tasted old and cheap. I ordered brisket and it was decent for being a diner, the ribs that my boyfriend ordered were really good he ordered the appetizer size and they were pretty big. For a brunch a good friend (and hopefully a lot more) and I came here in our travels. My Reuben sandwich was overloaded with sauerkraut though messy but flavor-able, while my friend's omelette and hash browns were enjoyable. Parkview Diner's staff has no respect while patrons are in utilizing the facilities as I was waiting outside and there is a male staff by the sink foyer area cleaning which there were one female patron inside the women's stall. My son and I walked into the diner and waited by the door to be seated which we were within two minutes. We were brought two menus and two glasses of water. Went there Sunday. First time since Corona. Outdoor seating only. First of all there is a $1 per person outdoor seating fee. Why? Like I have a choice. Wait staff did not speak English and kept getting our orders wrong. We were two people both had omelettes and one order of onion rings bill came out to over fifty bucks with tip. Came here for breakfast right before the attending the Breast Cancer Walk at Coney Island. I ordered home fries and eggs, standard breakfast.The waitress was very attentive and checked in with me often, so 10/10 for service. As for food.....well the home fries tasted FAKE AS HELL, like slightly crunchy and rubbery seeming noodles, so I was disappointed because I love potatoes. These potatoes were not it though......smh. This place has taken full advantage of the Covid crisis and the closure of most of Brooklyn's diners. They now have no breakfast specials, so you have to pay extra for coffee ($2.40) and juice ($4 and up). They even started charging $2 for seltzer, which in Brooklyn diners was always free. 7/12/17- I must say--this diner exceeded my expectation but can still improve. I would definitely come back to this diner as this is one of the only ones left now that we are at a diner apocalypse. I love that it is 24/7 at this diner AND there is parking, amazing. The decor definitely gives you a very old school diner feel. The food isn't bad, it's pretty good actually. I ordered a basic chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat and it wasn't bad (I just wish the chicken salad was colder). The T-bone steak was actually pretty good! I loved it and I love medium rare so yay, kudos to them for being able to control that. We also had a chicken quesadilla and man, the portion was huge! There were so many pieces of chicken inside the quesadilla, it was amazing. I wish it was cheesier though--that would make it PERFECT. The only thing that I found weird was the way you close the bill. You ask for the check, and you have to pay up front where the receptionist is. Is this an old school thing? I've never experienced that before! It was very interesting but it makes me feel obligated to leave asap the minute you pay for the bill up front. Maybe I'm just being weird. Food is good. Service is excellent. Huge portions; you'll be taking food home if you order a dinner. Been here several times now. Keep in mind if you New York City so diner prices are going to be a bit higher. But by New York standards this place is a bargain. Very conveniently located off the Belt Parkway, near Coney Island. Once the the Pot-Roast was not served hot enough once but they heated it up. The waitress noticed I was not enjoying the pot-roast and asked me if something was wrong. They fixed it right away. I've liked their sides. Coleslaw, soups, vegetables. Someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. The Resturant is well maintained. Clean restroom. I ordered the stuffed French toast with cream cheese, walnuts, bananas and strawberries along with a raspberry maple glaze. Ricky R. He was rude from the moment we got there. It was unfortunate since we were celebrating my grandson's graduation (who recently lost his father). We were a large family group and he wanted us to sit in a table that could only handle barely 6 people. The waitress had moved us to another table we requested with plenty of room and he quickly came over and LOUDLY for everyone to hear he said" NO you sit at table I gave you", causing other diners to just stare at us. The table we requested was then given to a group of 6 who looked just like him. That was it, we just didn't want to spend our money there. They don't deserve ANYONE to spend their money there. When we decided to just leave and I complained to him about his behavior and told him I would tell everyone I knew not to go there, he answered in a loud, crude manner that it was ok because he didn't want "my kind" there, that said it all. About a mile north of Coney Island, through a delightfully dilapidated industrial area which is easy to walk, is the Parkview Diner. Inside is a feast of Art Deco metal details, old fashioned booths and counter stools, and really nice and prompt service. We went with unusual choices for diner fare, since we all asked for different types of panini, but they were so good and so generous in size that we saved half of each of them for our plane ride hime the following day. This was my first time going to this diner and the customer service was lovely. Shout out to our waitress Dana who was absolutely a doll. She was so friendly and down to earth. The place was clean and rated a grade A. I ordered teriyaki beef with vegetables which was very good and the meat was tender. She ordered one and they gave it to her hot. Then they gave her a cup of ice to make it cold, she was confused. So I suggested that she just put some ice with her beer. Girl looked at me like I was crazy, you don't put ice with beer. I don't know I don't drink. Our food was delicious, I just had a grilled cheese with fries for $7.00. Food and service was good. The food came out hot and on time and the server was really nice, pleasant and tentative. The diner itself was pretty standard but decent and roomy. The big windows made it very bright and airy and gave a nice ambiance. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food and all agreed we would be back again when I travel to Brooklyn, New York. Everyone who was there looked like they enjoyed there food and had a good time with their families and friends while eating their food. The parking wasn't too bad because they have their own parking lot but it's not huge so I guess depending on what time you go parking shouldn't be too difficult. After having enjoyed a burger here before, I decided to come back and bring some friends. Unfortunately for me, the food was terrible on this evening. A friend and I ordered the cyclone burgers which are normally delicious. However, after waiting longer than usual the food came out over cooked and flavorless. The roast beef on the burger tasted old and dry. When we asked the manager to kindly comp one of the plates, he refused. Stopped by here for dinner before we did grocery shopping next door at the Stop and Shop. The place was roomy, clean, and cozy. There were so many choices and it was hard for us to decide. In the end we both picked something from the daily special. We went with the stuffed salmon entree and a stuffed scallop entree. The special came with a soup and salad. We had their manhattan clam chowder and potato leek soup. Both were ok. Next up was the caesar salad. The salad was bigger than we expected and tasted fresh. When the entrees was brought out to us we were kind of stunned at how big the portion was. Both of the entree was full of flavor and tasted better than your average diner food. Food is fair and inexpensive. However they charge $2.00 for saute onions. The strawberry shortcake was mealy but fresh. When I asked about why my burger was $2.00 more than the menu price the waiter and manager said it was was for the onions. There was maybe a tablespoon of onions. I don't why I expected this place to have more than 3 stars. I am glad a lot of people also have my same sentiments. I ordered delivery here for lunch and its safe to say I may have made a mistake. I ordered soft scrambled with cheese, crispy well done bacon(I always ask for it well done crispy) home-fries, side of sausage and toast. The only good thing on this platter was the sausage, I have no complaints there. The soft scrambled with cheese was way to bland and if it weren't for the cheese adding the only flavor it would have tasted like water. The bacon strips(there was like five altogether) two were very crispy which is fine, the other 3 might have well been skinned of the pig and slapped on my plate with how fatty it was and uncooked. I also must have ordered a cookie instead of home-fries because those things were harder and crispier than the few bacon slices. Oh and they forgot the easiest part, the toast. But that is probably a good thing because they probably would have found a way to mess that up to. The meal seemed very rushed, I don't know who they were racing against.
