It's one of the last diners in South Brooklyn. They haven't changed in years and they won't change now. You don't expect to come here for gourmet food. You expect to come when you need to have breakfast for yourself waking up early and dinner for your friend who just got off the night shift. They have a huge variety on their menu. Service from our waitress was good too as she made sure we had what we needed. The minor flaw in my wrap was that the dressing for the Caesar chicken wrap was a bit loose, so since the wrap was cut in half the dressing was sitting on the bottom of the wrap soaking into the parchment paper. I've been coming here for well over 10 years and there has been some great memories here. I used to go in person more often with family, but recently, I've been ordering through UberEats when I get the sudden laziness to not cook. Food is pretty pricey, but servings are huge - usually there's enough food to feed me for 2 to 3 meals. Despite there being a lot, the food is usually bland, but I just throw on some salt if needed, and it does the trick. Would recommend the Chicken Parm, there's huge portions and tastes amazing! I did go back recently to the diner to eat in person, but it's seen better days, it's pretty dirty, the booths are old and not as clean as you would like them. The taste was also not my cup of tea. The cheese fries were good but it was just American cheese square slices warmed up on top. The pancakes and the spinach pie were the highlight of our trip! She was very patient even though our mom tried to switch our table multiple times. We actually waited a decent amount of time after ordering our food even though it didn't look that crowded inside. Once we got our food, I noticed my eggs were popped and pointed it out to the waitress who promptly brought out another one. The food was good, definitely one of the better ones we've been to in the area. The hash browns especially were very good. The price of everything felt a bit too expensive. She kept asking if we were ready to order despite only having been seated. She handed me a red clam chowder that looked less than appetizing. Mind you when you order chowder, you usually expect the white New England version, and when ordering she didn't tell me they offered two kinds of it. Nonetheless she swapped it for my preference of the white version. The quality of the food is as you'd expect it. Tasteless, soggy, and unappetizing. Just stopped there today for the first time. Place was pretty crowded but they sat us within a few minutes. Christmas decorations were super cute, and it's got that perfect classic neon diner feel. Pre-Covid, the food was surprisingly good, and packed full of people. Currently, they've turned the almost entire back parking lot into a huge outdoor seating area under a huge party tent. I'd estimate there was probably about twenty available tables. Staff was masked and hospitable, and will tell you to sit where you like. I went recently in the morning and there were only two other tables occupied. There is a $1 fee charged as another yelper mentioned, but I think it's reasonable as there are people risking their health to serve you, plus that party tent must've been $$$. The food... was definitely on the lackluster side. It wasn't as good as all the other times in the past. This might be the only place I've seen where there's more than a few tables outside so if you're still cautious about outdoor seating, this might be the only place where you'll feel more comfortable. Came in here with my wife for lunch. We had two sandwiches with fries and 3 club sodas/ cranberry. The bill was $57! Service was good but their prices are out of control. I get inflation or post COVID price hikes but this is bs! They charged us 5.95 per club n cram. And charged for the refill. Club and cram is club soda with a splash of juice. This is pretty ridiculous. Why should I support local businesses if this is what I get for it. Been here plenty and it's a solid diner but I'll never come back now. My wife and I recently celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary here and were treated with great good, great service and accommodation of our disabilities. We had multiple guests join us and there was a variety of food ordered off the menu. The meals were prepared to order in a very short time. Multiple orders of chicken in different styles, steaks of different cuts, pork chops, various salads and all arrived simultaneously and with Mary a complaint. Our server, Omar, was a delight and very amiable. His assisting servers were very nice too. The owner, Mr. Ali, is a wonderful host. Unfortunately, he couldn't stay the entire time we were there, but he helped keep the mood and festivities very much on the upside with his presence and participation. He couldn't be nicer. OK - little reno was done, staff changed a bit, more friendly and more real service... but I do miss the "chain-smoking" ladies (oddly reminds me of public school... ). After decades of living on the south side of Brooklyn, I finally made my way to Parkview Diner. I had always been a fan of diner food, depending on which diner, but after the demolition of my favorite one (El Greco) last year there was an empty spot in my heart that just hadn't been fulfilled .... UNTIL NOW! To sum it up, the Parkview Diner is the best diner I had been to in a longgg time. I had been to a few since El Greco's departure from the scene, but none just lived up to my favorite. The Parkview looks like any other diner in New York. It was spacious and filled with the usual diner decor -- booths, lots of small tables, wooden chairs and a large brightly-lit Diner sign on the outside that you cannot miss. It was very clean inside, well-kept and there was seasonsonal window decorations/art for Autumn. As expected, the menu was filled with a neverending list of items that you could easily mistaken for a novel. Omelettes, pancakes, misc. breakfast platters, salads, burgers, sandwiches, entrees (seafood, steaks, pastas, Italian specialties, etc) and, of course, desserts (cakes, pies, ice cream, pudding, milk shakes). The prices of the diner food was a bit steeper than I last remembered when I was at another diner, but unfortunately the times have changed. If you're like us, then you will sit in your seat for minutes and not know what to choose off of a diner menu. Our heads spun for quite a while and we went back and forth on what we wanted to order. Luckily, we were able to eventually come to a decision on the following: California Burger Deluxe (comes with cole slaw, pickle and fries) Surprisingly an excellent burger! I was quite impressed at how well it was cooked to what I wanted. The burger had good flavoring, was juicy, thick and very filling! The fries were good too AND addictive. Roast Beef Special (comes with cole slaw, pickle, choice of soup and a small salad) The dish came with a few huge slices of roast beef. The roast beef definitely needed more seasoning as it was kind of bland. For the soup, my girlfriend ordered the New England Clam Chowder, which was pretty good. It had all the good flavors a New England Clam Chowder should have, plus plenty of potatoes and clams. As mentioned, our meals also came with cole slaw and 2 pickles. Although we weren't sure if this was in-house made cole slaw, the cole slaw was nonetheless excellent. Also, we were served some really good warm bread as well. Overall, we really liked Parkview Diner, mostly because of the surprisingly good diner food. We were greeted at the door by employees, which is always nice, but the service was just average throughout our meal. The waiters weren't bad in anyway, but we didn't have much interaction with them. The bottom line was that they did their jobs right. There is also a decent size parking lot outside for customers too. It's definitely comforting to know that there is some good diner food nearby whenever we're craving for a restaurant that serves just about anything! read more

On a Sunday morning, I came to this diner with my girlfriend and our friends. We arrived early, so we were able to get a parking spot in the lot with no issues. Also, we were able to get a table inside and seated right away, as it was not crowded at that time. Upon entering the diner, they take your temperature before you can be seated. Also every staff member was wearing masks, and we all felt safe eating inside. At our table, we all ordered coffee and it came out super quick and nice and hot. For our meals, we pretty much ordered some similar breakfast items, but in different styles. Some of these meals included a farmers omelet, french toast deluxe, pancakes, and eggs and bacon. Everything we ordered and tried was delicious. Nobody really had any complaints with their food. The omelet was cooked well and tasted great. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and went well with butter and syrup. The french toast also cooked perfectly. The bacon could have been a bit crisper and less fatty, as this was just average bacon.
