I definitely wouldn't get the earl the greyt again. Food was decent. Had the burger and it was over cooked with a ridiculously hard bun. The calamari was fried calamari so it was very okay. Enjoyed Parkside years ago, glad they're back. But I'm not going to give them credit card info just to make a reservation, and I'm not going to let them make $20 just because I've had to cancel due to some unforeseen event. WOW! This is probably the best happy hour deal I've seen in ages. The food was delicious, the service attentive, the prices unbelievably cheap...I could go on and on, but truly can't say enough good things about Parkside. The food: The happy hour deal is amazing -- half off all appetizers, all cocktails, and the burger. Naturally, we almost ordered out the menu, and our bill was still below $100. Standouts include the calamari, which was fried to perfection and well seasoned. I also really liked the beef tartare -- it was a decent portion size, and the tortilla chip it came on was delicious. The sauce was also really, really good, and terrifically spicy. The service: Our server was amazing! She was incredibly sweet, and knew the menu well. The restaurant was pretty empty (we got there at 5 PM, which was when they just opened) and we were able to grab a great booth seat near the window. TLDR: I wish Yelp let us bold words, because I would put this in bold and underline it twice: GO TO PARKSIDE FOR HAPPY HOUR! We had the most amazing server here last night for my best friend's birthday dinner! The highlights for me were the mac & cheese and the asparagus. Honestly, I really wish we would have come for happy hour when everything on the menu is half off! Our bill was $200 for the 2 of us and we felt like everything was definitely overpriced... The charcuterie board for example was really lacking, not very impressed with the ceviche, and our pork chop was really dry. Just super overpriced, I would really recommend trying it out for the half-price happy hour first! Food is delicious but pricey. Went here with a few friends for a nice dinner pre comedy show. The food was delicious but the servings are small. We got the crab fritters, ceviche and summer salad. I was not disappointed by the food even though it was expense. But I am taking off 1 star because there were only 2 parties in the restaurant and we ended up waiting 15 minutes for the check. I'm gonna go ahead and give 2 stars for the sever and the server alone. Park side is a disappointment now. Used to always come here when I lived here well decided to come back and regretted it. They didn't even have any of the food on the menu I ended up having to get a burger that was disgusting. Heck they barely had any tequila options. Fine dining and they only carry cas amigos and 512 (trash tequila). $200 for the bill for burgers. Yeah I'll pass this place up everytime now. Very disappointed. We have been working with one of the coordinators, Amanda Harrison for our upcoming wedding brunch and because they do not offer a tasting, we decided to give them a try beforehand. I have heard great things about Parkside pre-covid and while the quality of some restaurants have declined post covid, thank goodness Parkside is not one of them. Although the menu is not as abundant as it once was they still have great options to choose from and the service we received was excellent. For a group of 6, we shared a variety of oysters, crab fritters, and salmon tartare. For our mains, we chose the bacon cheeseburger, steak and frites, butter roasted chicken, macaroni, strawberry shortcake and candy bar . OMG....while every dish was delicious, the chicken was stupid amazing! Being that they are located in the heart of Dirty 6th, I was not expecting such an excellent presentation. Not only was the food pleasing to the appetite every dish was also aesthetically pleasing to look it. I am very happy we chose to host our brunch here! read more

This restaurant was amazing! We were looking for late night dinner options in Austin and most of the places we looked at did not have reservations available for the same night. We finally found this place and was able to make a reservation right away! We ordered several shareable items such as the crab fritters, beef tartare, oyster platter, snapper, and marrow bone. We also ordered the steak frites entree to share as well, and even though they ran out of the steak they normally used, they graciously offered to make it with their NY strip instead. Best Sunday Happy hour. PERIOD! From 5-6 pm on Sundays are the absolute best time to visit parkside. They have half off the entire menu...YES you read that correctly! We ordered 2 dozen oysters and only paid $32. They were fresh and delicious. We also ordered the filet dish that came out to $18 after the HH price. Very cute place and excellent food. Union ordering drinks minutes later they advise us they ran out of Tito's.... big disappointment as they should have told us prior to ordering drinks or even when we sat down. I went here for a dinner reception where the whole place was reserved and first and foremost...the staff was awesome and on point; the kitchen delivered on time and I don't recall anyone sending anything back. So...much props to the waiters, waitresses, chef and kitchen staff. The menu was prix fixe. Started with a simple spinach salad with out of season tomatoes so we'll just skip pass that. The pine nuts and vinaigrette were nice. I order the braised short rib entree (see pics) which was PHENOMENAL. This is a no-knife-necessary dish! I asked and was the braised in a traditional Cabernet for those interested. What I personally found quirky & appealing is that the short rib was served on a petite spread of creamed parsnips with two things of radish. It worked really well together. The dessert sample was a cream puff, a brownie and an apple fritter...with a tiny piece of super stout cocoa inside. GREAT! Yay and yes! Great all around here. Snapper, summer melon, tarragon, yuzu ginger citrus - served nice and raw, the way fish should be. And it was nice and cold, the way raw fish should be! Refreshing to my taste buds. Seared scallops, butternut squash, salsa verde, rhubarb salad - Such meaty scallops. Well seasoned and seared to perfection. Never had rhubarb raw. It was delicious. Dessert: Frozen goat cheese mousse, poached blackberry, calamansi curd, and basil ice cream - The basil ice cream got me. I love basil and I love ice cream. Together, it was love at first sight. I've had one too many so-so experiences at Parkside to give it a higher rating. The food has usually been fine, at times very good, and the service is usually ok, at times very poor. During one of my visits, it took way too long for our server to even take our order, especially because we were one of a handful of tables at the restaurant. Instead, the staff seemed a bit preoccupied re-arranging table settings at empty tables. My last visit, I ordered the bar steak during happy hour and it was pretty good; however some bites of the fries that come with the steak were total salt bombs and inedible. I also ordered the perspective, one of their signature cocktails, which I had to force myself to drink because it tasted a little too sour/fermented for me to really enjoy it. It's a really nice space with great happy hour variety and really close to my office, so I probably will find myself back here again. I just wish it was a more consistent experience because there is a ton of potential for a really great restaurant. read more

Can't go wrong with their 1/2 price happy hour and their wine list by the glass is selective so there are few choices within each category but every wine we've tried here has been very good. We shared a bunch of appetizers and my favorites personally were the steak tartare and ceviche. Of course the 1/2 off oyster platters are always amazing too! I came here for happy hour with my friend and the deal was pretty good. We were both very full after ordering three items off the menu. Their happy hour menu changed from what was posted on Yelp. We got fried calamari, fried egg sandwich with avocado add-on, and ceviche. Fried calamari was good but honestly haven't tried bad calamari? Egg sandwich was great and the avocado was a great choice to add on. Fries that came with it was delicious, I think they used some kind of garlic butter. The fries were a little but too salty though. Ceviche was the best part cause it was so fresh and juicy. It also sets itself apart from all the fried foods we ordered. Oysters are absolutely amazing. Service is GARBAGE. We were greeted by who would turn out to be our server, who was also training someone. This leads me to believe the person she was training will be as terrible as her. The people that were at the table next to us received an explanation of what was served on the chefs choice oysters while we were not. Our oysters were just dropped on the table and they walked away without asking us if we were ready to order cocktails. Side note, the people next to us were a lovely white couple while we are both beautiful hispanics coming from Spain and my wife from Venezuela. I may be reading into it to much, but the poor service just felt deliberate. Any port in a storm, but this one turned out to be a lucky find... We were walking on 6th when we saw the rain coming, and hurried to find somewhere to hole up. This came up with decent reviews on Yelp, and we just made it. Inside, we were greeted warmly, and service was great start to finish. It is more trendy than I like, and was pretty busy, but it turned out to be comfortable. They have a raw bar, which had a lot of business. We weren't starving so we just ordered apps. Our friends had the ceviche, and I think they just thought it was okay. Sweetie had the mac and cheese, which was good- baked, creamy, not very cheesy inside though. We shared some calamari- a huge plate, nicely fried, kinda salty. I had the crab fritters, which were very crabby little balls of awesomeness, and came with well-seasoned asparagus. The decor was nice. Prices are pretty high, but I'll pay that for really good food. The beer list was disappointingly small, and they were out of my first choice. Wow! Perfect down to the trainee! My Fiancée and I went for her Birthday and had an amazing time. We went during happy hour and had perfect service. I had the Cheese burger and it was great, cooked the way I wanted, and the fries were crispy and not greasy. The calamari was crispy. But the topper was when the trainee cleared my table. She was so polite, friendly and picked them up delicately . She picked everything up. She didn't leave a single item (that needed to be picked up). Walking down this seedy stretch of 6th, I was surprised to find a cozy restaurant with decent food. Our server was great- friendly and attentive without making us feel rushed. - I started w/ a cocktail from their 10th anniversary menu (congrats to you, 50% off gift for me!). The Parkside 78 (a riff on a French 75) called to me. The rosemary was overwhelming at first, but seemed to mellow over time. It was OK, but don't think I'd order again. - The Caesar salad was meh- thinly sliced pale romaine with an thick dressing. - Scallops were the winner! Four plump, perfectly cooked, delightfully sweet scallops. Often ordering scallops at a restaurants means I leave hungry- not here. These were served over a generous serving of toothsome grains, mushrooms, kale in a fantastic creamy sauce. - Side of broccoli sounded better than it tasted- could've used more char and came across as one-dimensional. - Acorn squash however was the bomb. Tender, sweet, stuffed with grains. I would have asked for no bacon, but the rest of the table disagreed. Some hits, some misses, but overall a pretty good place for dinner. read more

There are several rooms, we dined in the section right when you walk in the door. interesting location for a nice restaurant because you exit right onto dirty 6th as the city starts to restrict vehicle access and the bars are getting ready for another night of enticing folks through their doors for $2 shots.
