The fajitas came out sizzling loud enough to make everyone at the next table jealous, the chips and salsa kept magically refilling, and the margaritas definitely understood the assignment. Service was friendly, attentive, and somehow kept everything moving even when the place was slam packed The food was fresh, flavorful, and served in portions that make you wonder if you accidentally ordered for two people. If you're craving Tex-Mex, cold drinks, and a lively atmosphere, Pappasito's rarely misses. Come hungry, leave happy, and don't be surprised if you end up taking home leftovers. Hot tip, this place is always busy. The bar area has high tops that are first come first serve. I dont believe they take reservations. Its more of a join the waitlist type of place. There were so many things that were so disappointing 1. We were there for a birthday celebration (table of 7 with reservations) and an hour after we sat down, our food finally came 2. Right after we got our food, two other waitresses that weren't our waitresses, started clearing off the chips and salsa 3. We asked countless times for silverware, water, extra plates etc 4. I went to the bathroom and an employee was in the stall next to me and she was smoking. 5. I asked for my check and a to go box because I had to get back to work and lunch had taken an hour and a half (so I missed the cake). I literally had to stand by the kitchen to catch my waiter to get what I needed. I spoke to a manager and she was very unapologetic. Yes, it was lunchtime and yes it was semi busy but if they were so busy, why were the other waitresses clearing our table right after we got our food? This was July 8th around noon. Food was okay, but nothing particularly impressive. We ordered a couple of dishes, and almost everything was a bit too salty. I would definitely skip the beef nachos. It was essentially eight corn chips with small pieces of meat and cheese--not worth ordering. We also tried the queso fundido, but it seemed diluted and lacked the rich, stretchy cheese texture you would expect. It was more like a watery cheese sauce. The Tulum plate came with a chicken taco, tamale, and enchilada, but all three tasted very similar, so there wasn't much variety in flavor. On the positive side, the atmosphere is nice, and I'd recommend arriving before 6 PM if you want to get a table without much wait. I had 8:00PM reservation for 20 @ dinner time. We didn't get seated until 8:45PM. It was incredibly hot in the wait area because of open doors/windows. Chips came. No drinks (even water) for another 20 minutes. Finally was able to order the food and told the waitress all orders in one ticket. The food came. Several orders were incorrect or tasted awful. When the waitress came to give the tickets, she started giving everyone their own ticket. We stopped her immediately. My family and I came here for my bday dinner. It wasn't planned, but I'll keep that in mind next time. We were seated immediately, but for a table of 4, it was very small and tight. The layout needs improvement as you feel like we were sitting in the tables next to us lap. We literally had to send out waters back to make room for our cocktails and food. It was after 1:30 pm when we arrived at the restaurant, so the lunch crowd should have subsided by then. (we went on a Monday). We had to wait approximately five minutes for a table and when we were seated we waited almost 10 minutes for the wait staff to greatest at the table. It probably took about 15 minutes for our lunch plates to arrive. I ordered the red fish on the half shell which was very delicious and my husband ordered the beef fajita quesadillas. The downfall is for just for two people and no alcohol and only drinking water. Our bill for lunch was about $90 after tip. Service was horrible. The tortillas are fresh and tasty, though overall I don't think the food is quite as good as it was 20+ years ago. The flavors feel a little more Americanized now, the salsa has no heat, and the fajitas came with a cup of butter, which I found a bit unusual. The biggest challenge for me was the "family style" setup. We were at a large 10-top, and although I ordered an individual serving of fajitas, the rice and tortillas were placed on the far side of the table and at no point were they ever offered to me. Halfway through the meal I realized I hadn't received any and asked, only then learning it was supposed to be shared but the table was far too big for this! For a group that size, it just doesn't work. It would be much simpler if each person received their own sides. I did not order a shared or family style platter. We have always considered Pappasito's as the place to go for great atmosphere and wonderful food. We live quite a ways South of FW but, when we come into town, this is our go-to. We met some friends here for dinner Tuesday at six. I've been in the restaurant business and I can usually see the signs of an off night. Our waitress was already in the weeds when we walked in. Not her fault, she was in the middle of getting triple seated so orders, drinks and food service were slow, especially with the cars and diners on the room being about 60 percent. Maybe our waitress was new, you could she wasn't having a good time. Both couples chose to split medium orders of mixed fajitas plus some queso and guacamole. The food, as always, was great, cooked perfectly. However, the proportions were sad. I immediately found two or three small chicken bones, by chewing on them of course, one was a pointed spear and it was luck that kept me from barbing my tongue. I said something to our host. We are older and it is not our way to create a scene. Another 15 minutes for drink refills, another 15 for to-go boxes. ultimately no one came and we decided to leave. I cant imagine how difficult it is to run a restaurant now in this economic reality. All of us decide if the price you pay is worth the enjoyment. We split a meal plus an ice water and a tea for $80 with the tip. Great food, atmosphere and drinks but for us, it's just no longer worth the price. read more

I took a trip to Fort Worth this past April, and one of my DFW Yelp friends recommended Pappasito's as a good place to get some authentic Tex-Mex. WOW, is all I can say. Everything was fantastic, from start to finish. The atmosphere was country and true Tex-Mex. Located on the Trinity River, the scenery was beautiful. Our server, Caleb, was fantastic. He had incredible positive energy and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. He put a big smile on my face with his upbeat enthusiasm. Food and drink were to the moon and back. I had a Ranch Water, which was crisp, refreshing, and not too sweet. We had the Queso appetizer, which was rich and cheesy without being too salty. The chips just kept coming! Then shared the beef fajitas, quail, and jumbo shrimp plate. My mouth is watering and there is actually a tiny bit of drool on my lip just writing this review. I cannot believe we did this, but we somehow packed in dessert. We had the Cajetas: coconut-pecan crusted ice cream with cajeta and chocolate sauces.
