I've been to Torchy's (different locations) a couple times in the past and they have never disappointed. This was no exception! It was another overnight shift at the hospital. I got two items from the secret menu since I've never tried them before - Trailer Park Hillbilly Style and the Naughty Santa. Both are very busy tacos. The Hillbilly Style adds chorizo to the Trailer Park base taco which is fried chicken. I liked it. It was just a very busy taco as I mentioned. The same goes for the Naughty Santa; except in this case it was shrimp with chorizo. This combination doesn't really work synergestically in my opinion. The shrimp is good. The chorizo is good. But together? Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Other than the Naughty Santa, I'll still come back and be a patron of Torchy's Tacos. read more

We used to love Torchy's. Queso still up to our standards. Food has gone down hill. Chicken AWFUL, had a different consistency not at what brush fire used to be, tortilla very bad. Breakfast taco, why change the delicious breakfast potatoes for nasty freezer hash browns. Why change something that's not broken? Food is good as usual, experience is terrible. came in, nobody at the register except self ordering kiosks. Not a fan of doing the work that should be a part of customer service. takes me longer to figure out how to order and navigate the menu than it would've compared to an employee. love the good, but won't be coming back to deal with that. read more

Torchy's Tacos is a place I have to visit when I'm in Fort Worth. The queso brings me back every time, but the breakfast tacos always hit the spot. They're incredibly flavorful and very filling. The staff was great when I visited, especially the lady who took my order. She was helpful, witty, and fun to talk to. The restaurant's interior is like any other fast food restaurant, so nothing special, but that's okay. I'm not visiting for the tables. :) read more

I was looking for Queso on our way to the zoo so we stopped in. We got Queso, it was good, hit the spot! The rest of the food was not very good. I ordered some kind of chicken taco, they all had names, I think mine was called tickled, pickled, tipsy? Something like that. It was cold when I got it.like refrigerator cold. I brought it up to where I ordered and asked the person to heat it up. She said that she couldn't do that but they would make me a new one. Ok. To be completely honest, it didn't make much of a difference. 2 bites and nope, not good the chicken was just warm and each piece was fatty and rubbery. There was some kind of gelatinous sauce to go with it. Not edible. Besides that, the person at the counter who said that she couldn't heat up the original one and gave me a new one, came out from behind the counter and pretended to be doing something at the drink station the entire time we were there and pretty much glared at me the whole time. I'm not sure what she thought was going on but it was really uncomfortable. My daughter got a fried avocado taco and corn. She liked them. To me, the corn was too sweet. When we asked for a to go container. The person handed us a folded up cardboard drink carrier. Totally on purpose. There was a hostile vibe behind that counter. While the food was good, the service was incredibly slow. I waited 23 minutes for my takeout order, which consisted of just one taco and a kids' quesadilla. I understand the restaurant was busy with both dine-ins and other takeout orders, but 23 minutes for two items, with no acknowledgment or communication, was disappointing. At another Torchy's location, I was offered a drink while I waited, which made the wait feel much more manageable. It would have been great to have that same level of attention here. We stopped in for a late lunch. The restaurant was still full but starting to clear. We placed our orders, got our drink cups, paid and went to get our drinks and find a table. Ugh! No ice. From either ice dispenser. I told an employee so they would at least know they're out of ice. Thankfully, the soft drinks are already pretty cool. We found a table, got settled in and waited for our food. Staff were very busy bringing food out from the kitchen and cleaning tables. It was kind of funny because it was like they were mad, the way they wouldn't just push the kitchen doors open but actually kick the doors - hard - into the wall. Strange. Then our queso & chips came. It had been nearly 10 minutes and no one had addressed the ice, so I let another employee know. The rest of our food came out about 5 minutes later. I had the Trailer Park (fried chicken taco), which was just ok. I also had the Brushfire with habanero sauce, and it was awesome! The beef fajita taco was also very tasty. Then came time for a drink refill. It had been about 30 minutes since I had told that first employee - still no ice. I told yet another employee and returned to our table. Hey, maybe they were having ice machine problems, right? Wrong. After being out of ice at the drink dispensers for over 30 minutes and telling 3 different employees about it, the manager finally emerged from the back. With a large bucket of ice. He and another employee who had been cleaning tables paraded back and forth with numerous buckets full of ice to refill the dispensers. The store is clean. The food is good. The dispensers probably usually have ice. But leadership sets the tone for a team. Maybe the "manager" just couldn't be bothered. If I'm nearby and want lunch, I may be back. That said, the prices are pretty outrageous. For tacos and specialty items like quesadillas, it feels way overpriced. The cheapest taco on the menu is $5 for a single taco, which feels excessive. I ordered a queso, a burrito, and a quesadilla, and it came to $32--absolutely insane for what it is. Consider this place for dinner only on pay day or as a reward for a good workout in the gym. I'm teetering between saying it's hype & acknowledging the greatness of their margaritas and Queso Diablo. Stopped in for a quick bite, though wasn't too impressed with the tacos, although the margarita and Queso was top tier! Selection wise, I wish the menu was a bit more expansive in terms of taco options. I went with the Baja Shrimp and Green Chile Pork. The Baja has a nice flavor with the sauce, while the green chile pork is a unique combination of flavors balancing each other. Atmosphere wise, Torchy's is a cool place for a quick meetup. Went to grab a quick snack before work I've always passed by Torchy's but never really got the chance to grab something until today , America helped me pick out a meal and recommended the Trailer park trashy and a side of queso and chips , hands down one the best texmex tacos I've tried . Been to the Northton St. location in FTW a few times to get breakfast tacos. Last few times I have requested coffee with my tacos. "Not available on our menu" was the response. I have always enjoyed the food at all the Torchy's locations I have visited, but not having a cup of coffee with my breakfast tacos just seems un-American to me. Anticipating my inability to get a cup this morning, I walked across the parking lot to Jason's Deli at 9:45am. I attempted to pay for my coffee with cash. No cash drawers at any of the registers. Waited for a few minutes for manager to bring the cash drawer out.....never happened...so I left and went to pick up my "to-go order" from Torchy's (I could have paid the $1.42 with a credit card I guess, but the frustration of Torchy's not having it in the first place was my original point of frustration). When I got to Torchy's, I was greeted and I informed them I had placed an order over the phone (I assume it was Artificial Intelligence since I was not speaking with a live person). The robot "almost" got my order correct, and it asked for "a name to put on the order", and I provided one. The counter person began searching for my order in the system. He couldn't locate locate one. He went back in the kitchen, and the manager came back out with my order in hand saying it was actually under the name on my credit card, not the name I gave over the phone. Ugh! I asked the manager about getting some coffee. She explained that "corporate" had instructed them to do away with it. So here's my question. In an effort to be "damn good", what impact to the overall "bottom line operating expense" does the cost of having coffee available in the mornings / evenings? I don't believe I'm the only client that would have a desire to enjoy a hot cup of coffee with my breakfast tacos. Having been in the restaurant business, I know you can't please everyone. But removing coffee completely from the menu is not how I would attack profitability at a location. It's a nominal expense, at best. Torchy's....I think you could do better! IMHO. read more

One of the best Torchy's I have been to. Nice patio. Great bar and wait staff! When the runner brought out our food I asked for plasticware, not knowing that is was litterally 4 feet away from me. She didn't skip a beat. She gathered up forks, knives, etc, and brought it to the bar. Very impressed by all the staff! read more
