My new favorite place! The pizole is amazing!!!! Only on the weekends though. That makes me sad. Other great things I've had there include the street tacos, queso birria tacos, and queso birria egg rolls. I also tried the elote and tres leche cake which were both ok. However, I am not a fan of the flauntas de pollo which are my usual go to at tex-mex places..but who really cares about flauntas when the pizole and tacos are so good lol. Greeted and Seated quickly but they forgot the menus. Dropped chips and salsa on the table and it took a few minutes to get drinks. They took our orders but we had to ask for menus. A slight oversight. No biggie. The chips and salsa were good. Salsa is puréed and tasty. A bit of a kick but not over powering. The chips are on the "thicker" side. Preference for the lighter crispier chips though. I've been wanting to try this place for a long, long time. We literally eat at the Indian rest, Namaste Grill and bar next door and it's the best of the best. When I saw the TikTok reviews I knew I recognized the restaurant and couldn't wait to try it. I inquired about Taco Durangos. And she seemed confused but showed me that they did have "fried crunchy tacos" and directed me to the picture on the front. I asked if I could get one chicken, beef and Pork. She's said NO that they were only available in Beef and Lamb....uggggh. I ordered one with just beef to try it. It's a birria taco...it was good. I like the crispiness of it but normally not a fan of the dipping sauce served with the taco. That was the case here. Not a fan. The little service red sauce also lacked flavor...it was HOT. The food here has an authentic Mexico taste. The Margarita was very pleasant also. I'll have it again soon. Home made salsa. Kinda different. Slightly hotter than most. The owner (Hector) came by to ask how everything was and I asked him about the tortillas for the street taco's. He said they don't make them here, but he went through the factory where they are made before choosing this product. I think the factory is in Carrollton. There's a very pleasant video playing on the TV. I asked what the name of the video was? "Wonders of Mexico". I looked it up on You Tube, and it's going to be my backdrop on TV when I have company now. We love this place! We were introduced to them during a Yelp event and found out they have a restaurant near our neighborhood. They started as a food truck. It's our weekly getaway, ha! The food is great and service is great! And we love the Thursday loteria games! They have drink specials and fun drinks each week. My current favorite are the flautas de pollo and the birria tacos. There are so many delicious options and we have yet to try their brunch. The owners make it like a party inside, especially on Thursdays. They bring a little bit of Mexican clubs to Fort Worth. What a cute little spot with authentic Mexican cuisine. We came in here for lunch, they offer daily specials. It happened to be Tuesday so I ordered the $6.99 taco plate which came with two corn tacos choice of filling, beans and rice. I chose pollo and asada, with cilantro and onion. Both were delicious, my husband got Barbacoa which was fantastic. We both started with a house margarita on the rocks, it was happy hour 2pm, so we got them for $5 and they were really good. They gave us free chips and salsa also, the salsa was spicy and had great flavor, the chips tasted fresh and warm. Our server was super nice and efficient and knew the menu and deals. My wife and visited this location based on some neighborly advice. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Small for a typical restaurant, but just right for a Taqueria. The staff were polite and efficient. We started with chips and salsa. My wife enjoyed the salsa, I prefer my salsa a little chunky. Our main course were the street tacos, my wife only requested the Carne Asada. I went with a trio of Pastor, Barbacoa, and Carne Asada (they also have chicken). We decided to come to their store front tonight since they catered at Women Run DFW at 139 Olive in Keller on Thursday night. The queso was pretty good. To be honest, it was better at the catered event. It tasted fresher and had more jalapeños in it. Tonight it tasted more like jarred queso and I was slightly disappointed. The chips were fresh and tasty. I did add salt as I like a little more salt. The street tacos did not disappoint. The lime could have been fresher but they were delicious. The carne asada was cooked perfectly and topped with plenty of cilantro and onion. Salsa verde was brought to table as well to top them off. I tried a brisket taco, which was simple, juicy, and well-seasoned, plus a barbacoa and a carne asada street taco--classic double corn tortillas, done right. The chips and salsa deserve a shoutout: two types of salsa, one regular with a subtle kick and one much hotter, both full of flavor. Bottled drinks like Topo Chico and Mexican Coke rounded things out nicely. I prefer soda on tap, but again, par for the course at a taqueria. Service was solid--we were first-timers but treated like regulars. The owner or manager was making the rounds and chatting with folks at the bar under the large TVs, which gave the place a nice personal touch. We'd go back. We showed up at 7:55 on a Saturday. It's kind of small inside/outside so all the tables were full. A waitress took our name and phone number and said she'd call when a table opened. Estimated 25-30 minutes. There was another couple that went in at the same time as us put their name on the list. We waited in a courtyard area outside and saw several people come and go, but assumed they were ahead of us on a list, especially since the other couple was sitting near us and hadn't been called. The Birria taco is amazing and the consommé is among the best I've ever had anywhere! I can not believe how satisfying this place is. I love to see this leadership and investment into ones work. What a professional. I can't think of anything I would change about what I've eaten today, the brisket is also absolutely fantastic. While it might seem expensive to spend five dollars on a single taco. I think you're getting a good value for the amount of meat, prep and taste. Even the cheese fries are good, although they didn't really look that appetizing the cheese is a winner and no fry was left behind. Seating will be hit or miss, and you can grab a drink from the store while you wait for your food. We were yelping one night and this was the highest rated taqueria anywhere near us. Since we moved to the suburbs, I have felt like I'm in foodie hell. So imagine my surprise when I found some of the best g#d@mn tacos and DFW, situated in this little strip mall. Apparently this place started off as a food truck, specializing in birria. We visited Anejo Taqueria in Fort Worth, located off Beach and Basswood. They offer $2 mimosas until 2 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The customer service was exceptional, with attentive staff. Although the restaurant is small, with limited seating, it has a full bar and plays great music, including Ranchero and Hispanic pop. Complimentary chips and salsa are served with meals. We tried the Birria Tacos, which were outstanding, and the Birria Ramen, which was flavorful but had similar toppings. The Togo Churros with caramel and chocolate were a nice touch. As first-time customers, the owners offered us palleta shots. When I mentioned my embarrassment at never having tried pozole, Hector kindly brought us some to try. Food is so basic and no flavor. It's one of those places I feel I could make the food myself. Out also comes with the wait time of fine dining without the fine.
