I've been wanting to try their cinnamon rolls for a while now, but we always tend to be out there on days when they're closed. I was just talking about it to my friends a couple weeks ago. So, the other day, a friend of mine happened to be working on that side and passed by. The line was short so he stopped to grab some. By the time I ate it, it had been in my refrigerator overnight. I warmed it up a little and dug in. First off, it is huge! There is an ample amount of icing on top and ooey gooey goodness on the bottom. They have a system where you enter the through the front, you tell the employee how many you want while your in line, then you pick up and pay, then out the side door. We went on Christmas Day, driving up from Kihei and arriving a little before 8 a.m. Parking, surprisingly, wasn't bad--we found a spot fairly quickly. Unfortunately, that was the smoothest part of the experience. The line was insanely long and moved incredibly slowly. To put it into perspective, I stood in the same spot for about 30 minutes at a time before the line moved at all. If you plan to come here, expect a very long wait with minimal movement. The wait itself was brutal--there was no shade at all, so wear sunscreen if you attempt this. During the wait, one of the bakers came out multiple times to tell people behind us that they were not in the "safe zone," which made me think we were. That gave us hope, even though things already felt questionable. We were there for the famous cinnamon rolls, and we were willing to wait because this was literally our only chance. We had arrived in Maui the day before, and the shop was closing for the next three days. While waiting, we kept seeing people walk out with huge pizza boxes of cinnamon rolls--some holding 5 rolls, others clearly leaving with 10-12. Every time that happened, our hearts sank a little more. What really bothered me is that knowing Christmas Day would be extremely busy, the shop did not: Enforce a limit on how many cinnamon rolls one person could buy Or prepare extra batches to accommodate demand After waiting about three hours, a baker came out and told us there were only 50 cinnamon rolls left--meaning there was no chance we'd get one. We were devastated, but he assured us there would still be scones, croissants, and cookies, so we stayed since we'd already waited so long. A simple purchase limit would have gone a long way in showing that the business actually cared about customers who waited for hours. Instead, it felt like luck and bulk-buying determined who got anything at all. As we got closer, first the croissants sold out, then the scones. By the time it was our turn, we got the second-to-last box of cookies--sold only by the dozen. There were still 30-40 people behind us, all of whom left empty-handed. I really wish the cookies were sold individually so more people could at least get something. No one on vacation in Maui needs a dozen cookies when there are endless food options on the island. As for the cookies themselves--they were okay. Not bad, but definitely not memorable or worth a 3+ hour wait. I did appreciate the mix-ins (milk chocolate, white chocolate, macadamia nut, pistachio), but they weren't anything special. Since I didn't get to try the cinnamon rolls, this review is based purely on the experience and the cookies. If I ever manage to try the cinnamon rolls in the future, I may update my review--but as it stands, the lack of crowd management and consideration for customers made this a frustrating and disappointing visit. read more

Heard lots of good things about this place so I got up at in the morning to wait in line. Atmosphere it's a little cute shop which does have seating outside. Unfortunately it is in the sun and after waiting in line which also is pretty hot. Also, parking is small. The service was great the cashier was really sweet! Also got a kamaina discount which is always a bonus. Love that they support locals. Now the food the cinnamon roll was so good really airy and light didn't fell too heavy. It was pretty big though, larger than a hand. And just the right amount of sweet since I watched them glaze it with a brush. The cookies dough wise is okay I really do like the mix inside of chocolate and nuts. Overall pretty good place. The only downside being that coming from town arriving at 7 to get in line when they opened we still waited about a hour and a half. When we went there was a line but don't let that scare you because the line moved quick a it was worth the wait. The woman at the register and the man making the cinnamon rolls were the only ones we interacted with and they were welcoming and spread the Aloha. We wanted to start our Road to Hana adventure with a good to go breakfast, so we planned on going to Papi's Ohana -- a little hole in the wall we had seen earlier in the week. We arrived at 8 am on a Tuesday, and there was a line of 25 people. We didn't let that scare us off because we had seen the reviews and photos on Yelp. When we got to the counter, we were greeted by friendly staff who took and gave us our order quickly. I ordered the Da Local Kine Croissant, which is Spam, Swiss and jalapeño. I'm a Spam fan, so I had to give it a try. The croissant was buttery but not crispy. The jalapeño added nice flavor but wasn't spicy. Hubby got the ham and Swiss croissant, which he said stacks up with his favorite at home. We shared the King David cinnamon roll, which is served hot. Normally cinnamon rolls are kind of heavy, but this is the lightest, flakiest cinnamon roll I think I've ever had. We wish the croissants could have been served hot like the cinnamon rolls, so we recommend taking them back to your house or condo and putting them in the oven or heating on a pan for a bit. The line moved quickly and we were on our way at 8:15. When we drove by at 8:30, there was no line. Maybe they sell out some days, but going after the opening rush seems like the time to go. They do offer other items like scones, breads and croissants, which was already sold out. At 5pm they start serving pizzas. The cinnamon roll is perfectly warm when you get it and is boxed to order. It's nice to have a roll that isn't overly sweet. Parking lot of small and is shared with other businesses so we parked in the bigger parking lot (where Times is located) across the street and walked. Totally worth the wait. We visited on a Tuesday in early April so I think it's kind of peak spring break time. We arrived at 6:05am and we were #3 in line. You could already smell the cinnamon rolls baking. By 6:30am the line had grown to about 20-25 groups/families. At about 6:50am an employee came out and told us they weren't quite ready yet and it will be an extra few mins. Then the doors opened a few minutes past 7am the line was totally through the parking lot and wrapped back around, ending basically at the restaurants exit.
