I would not have come to Prison Street Pizza if not for my friend randomly having a craving for pizza. I sure as hell don't come to Hawaii for pizza because all I want to eat here is local food or Japanese food. But since I wanted to adhere to his desires, I looked up pizza and found this spot. We ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and ricotta (because any pizza is automatically better with ricotta!). For being advertised as Jersey-style pizza, I was skeptical as to the quality of it since it is Maui after all. You know what, this was actually pretty good! Quality ingredients, I was pleasantly surprised. I literally had just went to New York two weeks before coming here, so I had a pretty good idea of how to compare pizza. At the very minimum, it's better than Joe's Pizza. Staff here are really friendly! You can definitely see how much work they put in their craft because the kitchen is right behind the register. They put in the work for sure. Prison Street Pizza is definitely more solid than spectacular. But you can't really go wrong with this. Pretty sure that good pizza options are probably fairly lacking in Maui.

Disappointing pizza, ordered a pepperoni slice to go and got 3 pieces of pepperoni on my slice :( for $4 I expected a little better than that. I wish I took a picture of that sad looking pizza.... totally forgot. Save yourself a trip and disappointment and try another spot instead. Friendly staff but really salty pizza. Sauce was almost missing like what other reviewers said, thought I'd give it a shot with all the high reviews but definitely didn't have a good experience. The crust at the end was stale and so hard I threw it out without taking a bite there. Don't recommend it here. Go try something else! Maybe ordering a pie would be better, I'd still say go somewhere else. Added a star for friendly staff.

I've been craving a Philly Cheesesteak sub for sometime and thought I'd try something new at Prison Street Pizza. They do good pizza,  so why not a good cheesesteak? The cheesesteak was topped with cheese, onions, and peppers you'd expect. There were a few pieces of steak that weren't chopped up and I couldn't bite through the steak, it was tough.  Also got the Grilled Chicken Parmesan sub. The chicken was dry and the sub would have been better with more sauce.  The best part of our lunch was that the order was ready upon pickup. Next time I'll stick to their pizza.

The cheese was so perfectly made you could swirl it with your fork without burning your mouth. So good.

We stopped into this fun pizza shop after being at the beach all morning. The service was kind and the lady upfront took orders and delivered food to all the patrons. She was quick, focused and consistently positive. The pizza can be ordered by the slice and we picked up a primavera, 2 calzone and a house salad. The bread/crust was prepared perfectly. The ricotta cheese and mozzarella were hot enough to pull but not burn. .this place was an absolute JOY! We will hit this place again and again!

It's an ok tasting pizza, but the thing that blew me away was that the delivery driver was here within fifteen minutes of me placing the order. I was expecting to wait 45 minutes to an hour, but these guys were on their game tonight. Way to go guys, it was a jailbreak

On our third try, we finally found the right pizza place for us on Maui. Prison St. Pizza was really, really good. The real-deal. You can tell the difference when a pizza is made with quality ingredients and fresh dough. The thin crust is sturdy enough to support the lightly sauced, and appropriately cheesed pizza. We ordered Pepperoni & Sausage, and we were happy with the taste and quality of the sausage. The pepperoni was mild. It appeared that only mozzarella cheese was used but I'm not certain of that. Our server from the counter where you order was gracious and he checked and re-checked on us. Beers are all from cans. Nothing on tap. Pepsi products. Individual pizza slices are sold as well.

Was in town and my husband was gone so I didn't want to order a pizza since they only offer medium and large sizes which look quite large. I decided on a calzone with cheese and spinach filling, and it was amazing. Still too big to eat alone. Definitely big enough to share with one other person, but thoroughly enjoyed it. One glitch was, I tried to order it online and their online ordering does not allow you to order just a calzone. It's only considered an add-on to your pizza order? so I had to call and talk to someone in person.

Jersey style pizza in Lahaina! A little bit hard to find, but the small local pizza shop had outdoor seating around a beautiful mango tree full with fruit (there was a falling mango sign for caution). Service was quick and efficient, the lines moved fast. I wish they offered slices of their signature pizzas because the options for slices were limited to cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and primavera. I had a slice of Primavera ($3.75) because my party wasn't quite hungry enough for a whole pizza. The pizza itself was delicious! It was fresh out of the oven and they did not skimp on the ricotta on top. The crust was light and crispy and the sauce paired well with the toppings. Overall, efficient service and good pizza thats very affordable too! Wish they had more options for slices.

Completely forgot to write a review for Prison street pizza!!!! I was in Hawaii back in august but boy do i remember this spot lol We actually ate here three times! Yes it was that good. After some good hikes we just craved pizza. The photos show different ones that we go through out the three times we went. What is not pictured are the wings we got. Those were eaten in .152 seconds as well as the salad. But!! One of the times we got a Veggie pizza and a Philly cheese steak pizza. Dammmm the Philly cheese steak was a game changer! Pleas try that one. Then a different time we got half pepperoni and half chicken Buffalo. Soo good! The Buffalo was a bit spicey but not over the top. The staff was very friendly and they were on GO! As in hustling to get orders done over the phone and in person. Gotta love a fast pace place. Truly recommend coming here if you want pizza while in Maui.

We were so hungry and found this prison street pizza. The pizza lacked a bit of salt due to which I rate 4 stars .They had slice options too. It's a nice place where they had outdoor and indoor seating.

Prison Street Pizza is a very good pizza! Make a break for this pizza! We had finished a long day in the sun, surf snorkeling, paddle boarding, sport fishing, whale watching and swimming. So we decided to order a pick up pizza tonight on April 2021 post COVID19 pandemic. We arrived at the Prison Street Pizza in Laihaina a small "hut" packed outside seating only and with pick up orders customers crowding the front entrance. They have three tables outside including a "sunken" table that seats 6 and two other tables with a couple and another . with 4 people. No street parking but par. king across the street and behind the hut. We ordered a combination pizza, half grilled chicken, mushrooms, black olives and other half a classic Margarita pizza. Also ordered a garden salad with red peppers, black olives, mozzarella cheese and romaine lettuce with ranch dressing. The Prison Street Pizza is a great place for pizza.

If someone says they have Jersey pizza, we have to go taste what jersey pizza taste like in Hawaii but this was not what I was expecting. When they say cheese pizza, they mean legitimately just cheese on the pizza. Maybe a tablespoon of tomato sauce altogether on a medium pizza? However, the crust was well done. Thin crust and crunchy. Exactly the way thin crust should be~ But it was disappointing when I pulled back the mozzarella and there was literally nothing underneath. I saw other peoples pizza and it look absolutely delicious so I don't know if maybe this was a one off?

Slice of Pepperoni pizza and Sausage pizza.

Good pizza, great sizing. We ordered the pepperoni pizza to go. Nice switch up after eating seafood and Hawaiian everyday. My husband and I treated ourself to a slice of the pie while waiting. He had the sausage and I had the pepperoni. Quaint spot with seating in and outdoors. We will be back.

But we didn't. And it was due to logistical decisions made by staff. Let me explain... We had a 7:15pm reservation but arrived to a large crowd waiting out front and no one at the hostess stand. We were able to check in closer to 7:30. I felt assured when Qiana politely told an impatient patron that she had to seat those with reservations first. But that party of four, and others, were seated before us. After 40+ minutes waiting, Qiana apologized for a table that was lingering and asked if we wanted to wait for a table upstairs or be seated on the crowded lanai (with several young children) or wait a bit for a table upstairs. I chose upstairs. We waited for that lingering party to depart; no one left. Then 15-20 minutes later, we were seated upstairs. That was one hour after our reservation at 8:15pm. The logistical decisions and bad luck continued because there was a large party of ~10 also seated upstairs and they took priority over us. Our entrees arrived 45 minutes later (9pm by now). By this time, my family was very hungry and a little mad at the situation. I felt disrespected for the circumstances. The staff was nice, but actions were speaking louder than words. I usually rave about food in my reviews, but the long wait and how situations were handled (there were more I'm not describing) colored our special evening out and how the bites were received. Our evening at Sale Pepe turned out to be a low light, instead of the highlight I expected, from our Maui holiday.
