First of all, the family that runs Papi's is probably the sweetest, most hospitable family I've ever met! They take time with each customer talking and genuinely wanting to know their customers! They truly embrace OHANA! And the food... well, if you go anywhere else for Cinnamon rolls, you're missing out on the best!! Papi's makes the best!! The King David cinnamon roll is worth the early line up and the wait in line! It's tender, sweet and full of delicious cinnamon sugar, every bite is flavorful! We couldn't finish 2 of the 3 we purchased and it was still delicious the next day! We also bought a dozen of their milk and white chocolate macadamia and pistachio cookies, and my GOODNESS are they delectable!! Go for the food, stay for the Ohana! God bless this sweet family working so hard to bring sweetness to Maui!

Best cinnamon roll I've ever had!! Well worth the wait. So buttery and delicious. They put the perfect amount of the glaze on it and I love that it is cream cheese glaze. Makes it so much more creamier!! We came on a Thursday around 10:15am and only waited 40 minutes. Line moved quickly. Well worth coming when you're visiting Maui. Service was great too!

I got in line at 620am. Papis opened at 7 and I got my cinnamon roll just after 8. And boy was it worth the wait. The barista came through the line taking orders for coffee and she was a breath of fresh air, she was so friendly and sweet. I got 1 roll and a ham and cheese croissant. Both were absolutely delicious. This is a must stop when visiting Maui

Was excited to try this place after seeing on social media while planning a trip for our 10th anniversary and it didn't disappoint. We had a friend go 2 weeks ago who recommended we get there early around 6ish and that was some amazing advice. Got there an around 6:30am, later than we had initially planned but it worked out. Ended up waiting about an hour and walked out 2 huge cinnamon rolls, a ham and cheese croissant, and dozen cookies. The cinnamon rolls didn't disappoint. So light and fluffy. FREAKING HUGE! Between the two of us, we couldn't even finish 1. Which ended up being nice because they still warm up in the micro pretty well. The ham and cheese croissant was a pleasant surprise. Ended up being really good. My wife isn't usually a ham person, but she said it was like hand carved ham you'd have at Christmas. Cookies were okay. I usually prefer a fluffier soft cookie. Usually when we visit Hawaii and I want cookies , we usually are on Oahu and my go to there is Cookie Corner. Service was great. While waiting, they'll come out and take coffee orders. Only thing was their espresso machine was down that day but was still able to get iced coffee. And once they open, they keep it pretty efficient to keep the line moving. Overall, having to wait for an hour for the croissant and cinnamon rolls was worth it. Probably wouldn't do the cookies again. I've seen some other reviews saying they had to wait 2-3 hours, which is pushing it. I dunno if I'd be willing to do that. But if you can, wake up early, and plan to be there an hour before they open.

We were headed to the beach when my cousin decided to make a pit stop at this cinnamon roll place. We got there on a Monday just after 11:00 a.m. and walked right in! There were two people in line ahead of us. My cousin was surprised because she had seen videos of the long lines of people waiting in line for them to open in the morning. We didn't even taste the cinnamon roll until we got back after a long day at the beach. OH MY GOD!! The hype is real! This was, BY FAR, the BEST cinnamon roll I've ever eaten. No other cinnamon roll even comes close! Make sure you stop here if you are visiting Maui!! You won't be sorry.

Papi Ohana was absolutely worth the early morning adventure! I drove about 45 minutes on a Thursday morning, arrived around 6:30 a.m., and waited close to two hours to get their famous cinnamon rolls. The wait might sound long, but the experience made it worthwhile. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They genuinely appreciated when customers took photos and videos and were so much fun to interact with--they really embrace social media and make everyone feel at home. The cinnamon rolls were huge, priced at $12 each, and served warm. They were perfectly moist, soft, and not overly sweet, which made them even better. If you're visiting Maui and don't mind getting up early for one of the island's most popular treats, I highly recommend adding Papi Ohana to your list. It's a memorable experience with delicious cinnamon rolls that live up to the hype. But definitely go early since they sell out everyday!

Absolutely loved Papi's Ohana! The cinnamon roll was incredible -- huge, soft, gooey, perfectly sweet, and covered in delicious icing. Definitely one of those treats that's worth going out of your way for while you're in Maui. What made the experience even better was the owner, Linda. She was so sweet, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. You can tell she really cares about her customers and takes pride in what she does. Great food, great people, and exactly the kind of local place we love finding when we travel. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Maui!

Absolutely delicious cinnamon rolls and scones. They feed several people. We shared ours with the neighbors vacationing near us. Meg Loved it and so did we.

Very almost, laminated dough and uber buttery-- but the two hour wait PLUS lack of proper cinnamon ratio to dough-- hm. Love the NON DENSE DOUGH-- it's the same dough as my fave viennoiserie: pain aux raisins!!! As a believer, megapoints for Phil 1:3 verse on pizza box, and I am truly encouraged by the verses that I can claim as promises from God... Tis the reason I came, after all. My first Uber driver also a believer from El Salvador. It's a slog in line; given that I arrived 6:45, I would say come at 5:35, and your wait won't exist. Wear sunscreen and order iced coffee! PS aha--- he did train under a French baker! The dough IS laminated; my tongue didn't lie. PPS I respect the Sox off David and wife: this ministry l can very much appreciate. Why can't I retire now and just join their ministry and church... pinings...

Amazing! My visit was back in 2024, and I absolutely love how much this business is still striving I can't believe I forgot to post about our visit. Huge line around 6:30am but worth the wait. Since it was our last morning in Maui I didn't buy too much but had regrets not to bring extra home to share with the kids. Cinnamon roll was delicious and we ordered another pastry just to try something savory and I loved it just as much as the cinnamon roll. It was quick service type establishment but I enjoy watching how much passion and love they have for the community supporting their business.

Is it good? Yes. Is it "stand-in-line-forever" good? Not for me. I'm just past the stage of chasing hype, but based on the crowds wrapping around the corner, I'm clearly in the minority. The cinnamon rolls, though, are the real deal: soft, gooey, draped in glaze and yet somehow isn't overyly sweet, and when they're warm they just melt in your mouth. They're basically a hug in pastry form and go perfectly with a hot cup of coffee. We also tried the scones, croissants, and cookies, and they were all very tasty--but let's be honest, you're really here for the cinnamon rolls, and they know it.

I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't for me. Waited 3.5 hours on a Tuesday morning (from 6:30am-10am, their croissants were sold out so we bought 4 of the cinnamon rolls & a box of cookies. The cookies are delicious, I love that they put pistachios in it & it's not overly sweet, they were my favorite. The cinnamon rolls unfortunately fell short for me. There was something about them that just didn't "wow" me enough to be believing the hype. However, I'm still glad that I tried it. & to each their own.

Cinnamon roll!

If you don't feel like reading my whole review, here's the short version... the hype is real and worth the trip! My wife's sister, who just moved away from Hawaii told us about this place. She told us we had to come here. She made sure to mention to carve out a couple hours of the day, because we'll be waiting in line. As you can see pictures from other people's reviews, that's definitely the case. We took an Uber over there, and as soon as we got in the car and the driver mentioned the address he said, are y'all ready to wait?!?! I think we got there around 10 AM and the line was already long! We knew we would have to be very patient this day. Luckily it wasn't super hot outside so that helped with the waiting process. They did have someone come around and offer coffee and water to purchase while we waited in line. I thought that was pretty smart under the circumstances that everyone has to deal with while waiting here. After probably a 2 hour wait... we finally got in! They have other options of things to eat. Scones, croissants and things like that. We were there for the star player... the cinnamon roll! These things are huge! My wife and I said since we waited so long, we might as well get two and enjoy one of them for later. I never envisioned myself waiting two hours for a cinnamon roll, or any other type of treats, but this was well worth it. We wanted to have one while it was fresh out the oven, so we found a bench to sit at around a bus stop. It was so soft, pretty much melted in your mouth. The icing was tasty. It was so fresh, it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had in my life. I'm sure spending two hours of your time being in Maui you don't want to sit in line waiting on something like a cinnamon roll, trust me I felt the same way. After doing this, I WILL do it again the next time I'm there! Next time, I would be there first thing in the morning and waiting in line before they open up, that way I'll have time for other activities around the island that I have planned for the day. The wait is worth it, and I highly suggest this place!

Yes! If only you could smell this!

We got a reservation on the 2nd night of our trip and loved it so much that we came back on the 3rd night lol. Here's what we ordered: Focaccia (2x): May be one of our most favorite appetizer breads we've ever had, so delicious and warm with just the right amount of salt on top. The view of the puffed up focaccia is a reason to order in itself. Pair with the Caprese stracciatella! Caprese stracciatella (2x): A different take on traditional Caprese but was delicious, the mozzarella curds worked so well with the tomatoes. Everything was fresh and we loved using as a dip with the foacaccia. Calabrese piccante (1x): I ordered this the first night and it was great! The dough that they use is a game changer and would recommend any of their pizzas simply to try their dough. It is very close to the focaccia and we highly recommend. The Calabrese is pretty spicy, just a heads up. Alfredo tagliatelle (1x): *not pictured* My wife ordered this the first night but was not a huge fan. The Alfredo was more buttery than creamy and just wasn't super memorable. Bufala margherita (1x): My wife ordered this the second night and loved it! The dough was amazing and the buffalo cheese made such a difference. She did not that it could have used a pinch of salt on top but otherwise was delicious Lasagna (1x): I almost didn't order this the second night because I was going to split a pizza but thought to myself, "When in Rome.." This truly was one of the best lasagnas I've ever had, I'm so glad I changed my mind and got it. The pasta was fresh with the cheese and beef. It was so good! Would recommend to anyone and everyone who comes, my favorite dish out of all of them. Overall, a great vibe and great food. Servers were all nice and even gave us a complimentary glass of champagne for our honeymoon. Will be back if we are ever on Maui again!

We made reservations for a birthday and requested an ocean front seat for this occasion. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation knowing how busy they can be and we were promptly seated when we arrived. We had oyster shooters and the Spanish octopus to start and both were phenomenal. The Octopus was grilled to perfection and so tender you could easily cut it with a butter knife. The octopus is a must!! For the main course my wife ordered the scallops and I ordered the special which was grilled Opah with two grilled shrimp served over risotto. Both dishes were the best things that we have eaten all year. At the end of dinner they provided a complimentary dessert and some of the best views and service on the island. The restaurant Manager also checked in with us to make sure that we enjoyed everything. She was very nice, professional and engaging. Our waiter and supporting staff were all amazing as well anticipating our needs and exceeding expectations. If you are looking for great views, great service and exceptional food look no further than Honu! No its not cheap but it is a great experience!

I had the evening special--kampachi served with an incredibly creamy risotto and red wine butter sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked, tender and buttery, and the risotto was so good that I'm already trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. My husband had the Ali'i mushroom pizza with artisan cheese, white truffle oil and lavender. Such an unusual combination, but it worked beautifully. I also really appreciated having wonderful gluten-free options. It's not always easy to find a meal that feels truly special when you need to eat gluten-free, and this absolutely did. We also tried the bruschetta with ahi tuna! So unique and tasty! Add the beautiful oceanside setting and this was one of those Maui dinners we'll still be talking about after we get home. We would absolutely return to Honu Oceanside on our next trip. Highly recommend!
