I didn't like that the cook didn't have his long hair neat or covered. The spicy chicken in my sandwich was cold but seasoned pretty good, I liked the mango flavored slaw but it made my sandwich soggy as well. The ubechata, tasted just like regular horchata. First time here, saw the reviews on this place. So I wanted to give it a try. Very disappointed. My food was cold and noodles were mushy "chicken and shrimp Alfredo pasta 11/11/22 special" wasn't even Alfredo sauce it was watery milk. As for the chicken and shrimp they were just seasoned with salt and paprika to give the pasta flavor. It didn't even come out hot to me it was cold, like they had it sitting in the watery milk sauce for to long that's why the noodles we're mushy Don't get it. Not worth the $$. My husband got the "spicy chicken fries" the chicken was tender and actually very good. Only complaint with that is I would say lay off the sauce, it was a bit much. Papi Clary Revisited || I had the opportunity to come back to Papi Clary to try the other things on their menu. First on the list was the Birria Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Like the Birria Ramen, this was just absolutely delicious and cheesy! Don't let the fact that it's a grilled cheese sandwich fool you, this was absolutely filling and packed with flavor! Super buttery, great crunch and just downright comforting as a grilled cheese should be. Definitely add this to your list of things to get in addition to the others I mentioned. The birria Mac and cheese is more like pasta, because there's a less proportion of cheese which I really liked. The Mac and cheese bowl was also HUGE in my opinion I had leftovers for later! All and all I ordered 4 things plus two drinks coming out to be about $55 and was only able to have the two drinks the fries, and chicken sandwich. The chicken, and garlic noodles are more like teriyaki sauce and hella salty. The birria noodles were mushy and sauce/meat was flavorless, and full of oil. Maybe they should have took some of the salt out the chicken garlic noodles, and put it in the Birria noodles!!! Truly disappointing. I came last year, and something similar happened. Been wanting to check this place out for a long time and finally did today. Located in a fairly sketchy looking area off the freeway, I would consider this a hole in the wall. But also a hidden gem. Birria and fried chicken are their 2 specialties. Basically everything on their menu is a form of one or the other. This is exactly how I think menus should be -- limited, to ensure everything is delicious. The birria itself was great. Everything you want birria to be. Tasty, moist, tender. I just don't think it paired that well with some of the things they paired it with. Birria mac & cheese - lacked enough cheese. So the mac was a bit on the bland side. I also felt it was missing something that would meld the birria and mac & cheese together. As it was, it really tasted like 2 separate dishes that were just stacked together. Maybe some sour cream or sauce. Something to add some wetness. I think the mac & cheese sort of weighed the birria down. 3/5 Birria grilled cheese sandwich - also not enough cheese. Actually, I had the same issues with this as I did with the mac & cheese. The birria just didn't seem like a cohesive ingredient to the rest of the sandwich and again, it was too heavy and could've used something to lighten it up. 3/5 Birria ramen - the amount of oil in the broth is extremely off-putting to see. This is the oiliest broth I've ever seen by far in any kind of noodle soup. I wouldn't drink any of this broth. However, the ramen and birria went well with it and was delicious. I did find the the broth on the overly salty side, but I normally do for most ramens. If you're going to order this, I suggest eating it right away. The noodles get soggy and the broth becomes overbearingly salty the longer you wait. Could use some chopped onions in the broth just to lighten the heaviness a bit. 3/5 Spicy chicken sandwich - now we're talking! Possibly one of the best, maybe even THE best, chicken sandwich I've had. Hubbie agreed. Although I enjoy chicken sandwiches, I'm usually not super impressed by any, and that includes the Famous Hotboys. But I was impressed by this one. I think of the lines I hear about at Hotboys and Chick Fila and want to say, "Those fools!" The chicken alone was good but not fabulous; it was the way they put the whole sandwich together that made is spectactular. The bun, the sauce, the slaw. (Actually now that I think about it, maybe that sauce would have made the grilled cheese sandwich better.) For us, it's the chicken sandwich that makes this place worth going out of our way to come back to. 5/5 French toast & chicken special - I loved the french toast. It's made exactly the way I think french toast should be. I don't like syrup on my french toast (preferring just a bit of powdered sugar), and these came with some syrup drizzled over. But I didn't find it overbearing. It was just right. I loved the french toast portion much more than the chicken (which was better in the sandwich). Still 5/5 because that french toast was just perfect. Strawberry drink - not my cup of tea at all. There was a great strawberry flavor but I found it too syrupy sweet. It was the only drink we had while eating and the ramen was quite salty but I chose to go thirsty rather than drink the fresca. But while we were waiting for our food, I saw like 2 out of 3 people order the strawberry so I know it's popular. The portions of all the food were very generous. And the price a downright bargain for what you get. They especially do not skimp on the birria. Each of the 3 birria items we got looked like a heart attack waiting to happen, and were exceedingly heavy. They each could have done with the addition of an ingredient to add some lightness, like pickled onions, sour cream, or pico de gallo. I would try a different birria offering next time. Maybe something simpler, like the taco so that the birria can shine on its own. Overall a great value, fabulous chicken sandwich, perfect french toast, yummy and generous amount of birria, and unpretentious atmopshere. Definitely a place everybody should check out! read more

Would not recommend this place if you are looking for a caterer. Had an event over the weekend where we requested for catering. The owner in the beginning confirmed everything (tacos 3 meats, sides, chips and salsa with drinks). When asked for deposit required to secure the catering for our event, the owner said she does not take deposits. So we took her word. 3 weeks prior to the event, we tried to contact the owner to confirm for our event and was ghosted. Left messages on IG (left unread), sent text messages, phone calls, voicemails and no response. For someone who runs a business, if you can't cater just say it. Don't lead on customers and then ghost them. Should take some classes on business management. read more
