Finally a good Filipino joint in the area! I really liked the Kare Kare and sisig but everything I tried there was good. Meat was tender, food packed with flavor. Everything really tasted home made and you can tell it was made with love. Owners and staff were very friendly and was giving me samples of the food that they had. Everything was good! There are multiple tables so you can dine in or take out. Definitely will be back to try everything else. Also, you gotta get the ube sticky rice with mango.

Food: It's Pampanga Cuisine... which I've never had before. We ordered their version of Pork Sisig and Plabok. We also ordered fried fish (pritong Daing), halo-halo, and Buko Pandan. Service: Their food is counter-served. There are items that can be made to order. Also, they offer catering services. I love that they let you taste test the food to see if it's to your liking. The man tho at was at thy r counter was very nice. He seemed down to earth. I love that. I noticed that they sold some can goods from the Philippines like corned beef, sausage, and some other things. I found that a bit pricey. Ambiance: the place is small. You can dine in. But if it's busy it might be a little tight inside. But over all we loved everything we ordered. I especially love the palabok.

Finally tried Capangan heard nothing but good things bout this place! Had the Lechon Kawali, Sisig Fries, and the Beef Kaldereta. Lechon Kawali was made to perfection and of course with the brown Mang Tomas sauce is a must. Sisig fries were really good you definitely can taste the sisig as it lays on top of a bed of fries. Beef Kaldereta was also cooked to perfection, man that dish was cooked so good I feel like I can eat it everyday! Make sure to try this place out if your ever out in Pittsburg you won't be disappointed!

Today was my first time going to Capangan, but it definitely won't be my last. This place hits all the right spots for me! It's a little "turo turo" cafe with 3-4 tables and some barstool seating - brand new, so the place is super clean, aesthetics very cute. The place is family owned, and they're the most charming, friendly and welcoming people. The food is effing good. When I tasted it, all I could think was "thank goodness we have Filipino food of this caliber in the area". My opinion is that the quality of food here rivals that of some high end sit down Filipino restaurants in the peninsula. I ordered fried bangus, Kapangpangan-style dinuguan (good AF), turon & halo halo. This was all for me, but I had to stop myself from ordering more. Thanks Capangan for bringing this quality food to the area. Maraming salamat!!! I'll definitely be coming here regularly : )

If you're craving authentic Filipino comfort food, this place absolutely hits the spot. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of garlic, soy sauce, and simmering broth immediately takes you back to a Filipino kitchen. Restaurant opens at 10am, and closes at 7pm. I ordered a combination plate of Pork Sisig and Pininyahang manok(pineapple chicken). The owner also let me taste some Beef Caldereta and Laing. Probably one of the most authentic Kapampangan food I've ever tasted in the bay area. The sisig is a true flavor bomb. Salty, tangy, spicy and undeniably addicting. Service was warm and friendly, just like you'd expect from Filipino hospitality. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the vibe is casual and welcoming.

My family and I were super excited to check out Capangan after seeing a few TikToks about it! The restaurant was clean and well maintained when we visited. The owner helped us out and was super nice, offering us samples and being patient as we figured out our orders. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The palabok was very flavorful, which is something I don't often come across when I try other Filipino restaurants. We can't wait to see them expand their menu and we will definitely come back!

Beef kaldereta

I had met the owner before at his previous job, he was really friendly and made a comment then that we was in the process of opening his restaurant. 4-5 months later here we are trying out Capangan! The place is small and really clean. How it works: you pick rice +1 or 2 items price range is $10.88 or $14.88, there is extra fee for certain items like beef or goat. They also have a la carte options. Aside from the food that they have already available, they offer some items "made to order". Today my family and I order the following: 2 chicken adobo and rice and 1 goat and rice, we also got one order of ube sticky rice, one mango sago and one halo halo- all this came up to $71 we also got about $2.60 discount since we paid cash. We brought our food home and we all enjoyed it, the flavor of the food was tasty; the ube sticky rice was amazing, halo halo and mango sago was delicious as well. We will definitely continue to support this local business, I highly recommend anyone to visit this business!

Delicious food, great service, and just overall a noteworthy, humble, family-run small business. We got kare-kare, kaldereta, and my favorite so far is their sisig fries that my husband insisted on getting and they were FIRE. Please give this spot a try; their flavors have a lot more depth than what you're probably accustomed to from other Filipino restaurants, so be prepared for your taste buds to be tickled by the Kapampangan authenticity they bring literally to your table.

Good food if you are craving for Filipino food in the area. Reasonable prices too. I like their pop up food truck at most Filipino events.

I ordered pancit palabok (not very good) it lacked color and taste and mostly noodles. Not worth what I paid for. I won't order it again. We also ordered a kawali silog and bistek silog. You can't go wrong with silogs. They are always good! I will probably go back and order online, I don't recommend walk in order, it takes awhile. I will try other items on their menu. The prices are decent.

Amazing Filipino food perfect for our wedding reception!…read more This is what we ordered for our wedding reception: pork sisig, chopsuey, pancit canton, chicken adobo, laing, sweet and sour fish, chicken lumpia, pork menudo, and white rice. Everything was delicious! Nothing was too oily or salty. Most of our guests were Filipino but even my non-Filipino friends who haven't tried a lot of Filipino dishes yet enjoyed the food. The medium trays were the perfect size for our party of 35. The only thing I regret is not convincing my then fiancé to order more lumpia! 50 lumpia ran out so quick I didn't get to taste one. That's OK though because I plan to come in person to order the lumpia! We did have leftovers after the reception, even after people took some to go. The leftovers reheated well and I ate them for my work lunches. Jane was our point of contact. We exchanged emails and text messages. We sent our order via email and Jane emailed us an estimate. We then paid for our order in person. We paid for delivery and they had all the food delivered to our reception. They communicated with our point person for our reception venue. In person, Jane was friendly. It did take some time for us to hear back via email, but Jane always responded fast through text. If you're looking for Filipino food catering, I highly recommend going with Lutong Bahay!

Just note, though it's called an oriental market, which is technically accurate, to be more specific this place is a Filipino spot, takeout food and the mini market wares included. Parking is pretty easy to find here even though it may not look it from the front, but there is parking to the side of the building and also in the back if needed, so keep that in mind, but most likely won't need to really use the back. While the place is actually decently sized, just note that the shelves are pretty bare and there's just not much actually on those shelves. Maybe just 1-3 bags of each item, and there's not many items there. Looking at past pictures, this may just be how it is now, but just be aware, it's less market now and probably more of just a takeout food place as that seems to be more of a focus here. They have a small selection of dishes which they told me they rotate every so often as far as specific dishes in the spots. There's not a huge selection, and if I were to compare it, I'd say their selection of food is about the same as if you went to Mama Lumpia's counter and that's basically where they're at. Not too much to choose from, so just know this going in if you're planning to takeout something. Pricing wise for the food, it's not too bad, but will be more expensive than some of the other options around, especially with it being takeout. But they do a good job stuff the container to the top, so that's a bit more helpful at least. Not expensive for Filipino food. Some of the stuff looked good, as I will go back and try some of them in the future, but today I decided to just go with the adobo pork. I feel the adobo pork was just okay. The flavors actually weren't too bad, and the meat was pretty tender and not dry, but the fat part I feel could have been cooked a bit more as it was too chewy for my liking, and not the best pork belly I've ever had for sure, and certainly not from a Filipino place. But again, portions were good. Will I be back? I can say I'm interested. As far as a market goes, it's really not much there, or at least not much there nowadays compared to pictures of the old, so probably wouldn't be my first option for market stuff when there's 99 Ranch and Seafood City around. Would I come back for the food takeout? That is probably more likely as I am interested in how their lumpia is, and perhaps try some of their pancit, or even the spaghetti which they didn't have on that particular day. See you around Oriental Market.
