We started coming to Capangan almost a year ago & we've never been disappointed. The only problem we have is choosing what we want to eat as everything, literally everything, is fabulously delicious. We've recommended Capangan to friends & everyone who've tried them were happily impressed. Some of our favorites are the goat Kalderata, the chicken adobo, the Kapampangan style dinuguan (my 1st time eating this style & now my favorite style of dinuguan), Sisig, & pork hock (so yummy). Some other outstanding dishes include pancit palabak, lumpia Shanghai, firecracker lumpia (if you like spicy that is), turon, & my favorite mango sticky rice. Trust us when we say that Capangan is THE BEST Filipino food from Bay Point to Brentwood. We drive 22 miles round trip to eat their food. Yes, we've tried other Filipino restaurants in the area, Capangan is above them all. Their portions are also pretty good size, we usually have 2 meals from the 2 item combo. Capangan has become our happy place, because every time we come here, we are so happy. We highly recommend Capangan to everyone who love Filipino food or if you've never tried but is curious. I have always been a fan of Capangan since the pop-up days during covid times. The family is kapampangan so the flavor is more to my liking as a fellow kapampangan. The family running this place are very kind and welcoming. I always get the sisig every single time I go see them. The sisig taste like the stuff I grew up eating so it is very nostalgic to me. We came for the 2nd time today. Food was great. There was no bistek but we all had adobo which was mildly flavored, a bit oily, but still delicious! The tinola was delicious as well. For dessert we got their turon. They're long, with banana and langka in the middle part leaving both sides of the turon wrapper empty. As with any other Filipino restaurants, food is greasy but I think that's where the delicious comes from. Finally, there's halo-halo! It's one of the best halo-halo I've had in the area. Lots of good ingredients, definitely way better than Chow King's! Halo-halo! The server and cashier were young women, must be family members. I wish they could be friendlier and warmer. Today was my first time going to Capangan, but it definitely won't be my last. This place hits all the right spots for me! It's a little "turo turo" cafe with 3-4 tables and some barstool seating - brand new, so the place is super clean, aesthetics very cute. The place is family owned, and they're the most charming, friendly and welcoming people. The food is effing good. When I tasted it, all I could think was "thank goodness we have Filipino food of this caliber in the area". My opinion is that the quality of food here rivals that of some high end sit down Filipino restaurants in the peninsula. I ordered fried bangus, Kapangpangan-style dinuguan (good AF), turon & halo halo. This was all for me, but I had to stop myself from ordering more. Finally a good Filipino joint in the area! I really liked the Kare Kare and sisig but everything I tried there was good. Meat was tender, food packed with flavor. Everything really tasted home made and you can tell it was made with love. Owners and staff were very friendly and was giving me samples of the food that they had. Everything was good! Another great Filipino restaurant in Pittsburg! My wife's family is from a region in the Philippines that is known for their food. This place was named after that region. Jimmy, the owner was absolutely friendly. She made it feel like we're family coming over for lunch. I had the tocino (beef marinated in sweet sauce), langonisa (sweet sausage), garlic fried rice and which was topped with two fried eggs. The tocino was exactly how this dish was supposed to taste like. The meat was tender, and marinated to perfection. The garlic fried was great. The langonisa was a bit fatty and I would have preferred if they had been cooked a little longer. I also tasted the pancit which was good. My wife had the bangus (milk fish) which was cooked just the way we liked. It was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. The place had plenty of parking (near Walmart) but it's very small inside. Some people decided leave because there wasn't enough room and since it's a family business, it's the Jimmy, his wife and their 11 year old daughter who was working the line. Overall, this is a great place. We 100 % recommend it. I can't wait to go back to try their halo-halo and other dessert items. read more

Visited Capangan for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly suprised by the good food and friendly staff; this is not your typical Filipino food, this is Pampanga style food which is less saltier and slightly sweeter presented in their style of cooking. The dinuguan ("chocolate" stew) is not the gooey kind but more adobo like with chunks of pork blood and spare ribs; the sisig is smokier and chunkier with better flavor. The space though small, had a few tables available and even some customers enjoying her Halo-Halo on a chilly day. Not gonna lie, Among the many restaurants claiming they are "authentic Kapampangan cuisine" this place is the one and only place I've been to that has authentic Kapampangan sisig! We also ordered fried fish Bangus and Kare - kare which is made with beef. The food has already been sitting out, so not sure how long but when he served us the food, it was barely warm. Sisig had lots of flavor and was kind of spicy with a little bit of char to the meat. The chicken adobo was made with whole chicken so we had bones as well. Fried fish Bangus was super good and Kare-Kare would have been better if it was hotter. This is our first time trying to Capangan Filipino food so it wasn't that bad if there was an option to go 3 1/2 stars I would. Good environment and recommend at least trying the food.
