It breaks my heart when I see a restaurant close, especially a family owned business. There a story of struggle behind every closure. When a new place takes it place, we need to support them and welcome them to the neighborhood. Hello Zaep Mekong. I don't know Lao food too well but the ones I had were really good. The dishes I ordered were tasty. If you're reading this then you're a discerning foodie, let me save you some time. Just come here and order one of their noodle soup and a small dish. Let's keep these places open!

Went back Sunday! Place was packed. Food was still amazing, definitely now one of our favorite spots in Pittsburg!

This is a newly opened Thai and Lao restaurant, which is a great addition to Pittsburg, which has been in long need of a local Thai takeout spot. We got the Pad Thai, Som Tum (Papaya Salad), and Pad Krapow (Thai holy basil stir fry). Everything tasted delicious, my only feedback is that the food was a little sweet overall, but they're probably catering to people who are used to sweet Thai takeout. The pad Krapow could have been seasoned more heavily with oyster sauce or fish sauce, spicier, and use less dark soy sauce. I'm happy that they opened and hope they can do well! Go and support this local business, because Pittsburg needs more local spots like these that add to the diversity of the dining there. Last thing I would add is that the people who run this place are Laotian, not Thai (though they both speak Thai). So I would encourage you to try the Lao dishes like: Laotian papaya salad, laab (Lao laab is different than Thai laab), Khao piak and Nam Khao. Those are the dishes I'm planning on trying on my next visit.

Zaep Mekong has wonderful food and welcoming service, with reasonable prices across the menu. The dining room feels warm and relaxed, soft lighting, wooden tables, and simple Southeast Asian decor create a cozy, unpretentious atmosphere that suits a casual meal or a low-key date night. Background music is quiet enough to talk over, and the staff's friendly presence adds to the comfortable, homey vibe. It can be difficult to find Lao restaurants, or Thai places that include Lao or Lao-style dishes, and Zaep Mekong blends the two cuisines very nicely. If you like Thai food, it's worth giving Lao food a try because it's very similar and just as good; if you're looking to try Lao food, Zaep Mekong is a tasty and authentic option. Khao piek was very flavorful, and my favorite savory dish was the Lao sausage with sticky rice and dipping sauce. For dessert, both the mango sticky rice and the mango mousse were delicious.

Delicious, tasty, and good size portions. I found Zaep Mekong while looking for a tasty curry and since the place is new, I decided to give it a try. I called ahead to place an order for dine in and they told me the food would be ready very quickly. I said okay, I'll be there. It took about 3 minutes for the food to arrive at my table. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size, the presentation of the food, and ultimately the flavor. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty Lao and Thai food. Last but not least, the price matches perfectly with the quality and amount of food you are getting.

Amazing restaurant! So glad this came to town. Came here with my mom for dinner. They had plenty of vegetarian options. My mom and I shared spring rolls and the sauce was to die for. She had chicken wings and chicken pad Thai and she said it was excellent. I had tofu mango curry. The owner also brought out mango sticky rice which was the perfect end to the meal! The service is excellent and efficient. We're never without something to eat. The he dining area was cute and clean. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

ooh, top 3 pho spots in Pittsburg!…read more i've always been around this area, but never tried Viet Palace out. it was a night to catch up with my sister, and we did so via Pho. this felt like authentic Vietnamese cuisine, and the ambiance set the tone we ordered shrimp rolls as appetizer, i ordered the steak, tendon and flank pho, while my sis got pork vermicelli and we also shared a chow mein: everything, elite and delicious the service was just as great, with our waiter checking on us the whole time, offering water refills and checking on our experience. it was awesome we ain't know it was karaoke night, so we were ballin with the tunes and vibes. thx, Palace! shrimp rolls (10/10) beautiful rolls, with delicious shrimp, booty poking out pork vermicelli (9/10) thin noodles, packed with protein: delish chow mein (10/10) elite chow mein, soft thick noodles, with veggies and choice of protein(s)

Their posted hours on the door as well as on Yelp say that they are open until 9 PM. When I walked in, there was no worker to be found. A young man emerged, and he looked confused. I asked what time they were open until. He said 9 PM. It seemed like he finally realized that I wanted to eat, and he tried to take my order to go, although he didn't give me a menu. I asked if I could be seated and get a menu. He awkwardly said OK. After I sat down, he came over and said that the cook might leave early, and that I might want to hurry up and order. I politely excused myself and said that I would come back another time. I then drove to another nearby restaurant that also is open till 9 PM. I didn't get there until 9:35 PM, but they served me and were very pleasant, and I had a great dinner. I don't understand why a business would post their hours and then not abide by them.

The chicken plate was VERY good, incredible taste and cooked perfectly The pad thai, solid choice and my Mrs. was very happy. I didn't get a pic of my son's yellow curry with chicken, as he dove into it before I could take a snapshot . He said it was one of the best curried he's had Only two little minor points on this visit. Being a popular spot, service ran a bit slow would be the biggest critic, along with being out of Singha Beer. The crispy egg rolls were tasty, but literally the size of my pinky and I am used to a more substantial egg roll like my mom makes. But the taste was solid, not sure of the portion to price ratio on this appetizer.

I was really excited to try this restaurant after reading so many positive reviews, so it was…read moredisappointing that our experience didn't quite meet our expectations. Ambiance: The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and very inviting. It has a modern atmosphere and is probably better suited for a date night or a smaller gathering than a large group celebration. Food: We came here to celebrate a birthday with family and ordered several dishes, including the appetizer sampler with oysters, pork belly, and chicken wings. Everything was presented nicely, but the portions felt quite small for the price. The presentation was impressive, but we were hoping for a little more substance. We also ordered the Pad Thai and Thai fried rice. Both were good, but neither dish really stood out or had that memorable "wow" factor we were expecting. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was finding what appeared to be a live bug in one of our dishes. We understand that unexpected things can happen in any restaurant, but it was definitely unpleasant. When we informed our server, the response was that it "should have been dead if it had been cooked with the food," which didn't really address our concern and left us feeling a bit uncomfortable. Service: The service was mixed. One server was warm, attentive, and helpful, while our interaction with another server wasn't as welcoming. Since we were a larger party, an automatic 20% service charge was added to our bill, which is something larger groups should be aware of. Overall, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, but for the price, we were hoping for a more memorable dining experience. We left feeling that the food and service didn't quite match the expectations we had based on the reviews. While others may have a different experience, this one unfortunately missed the mark for us, and we don't see ourselves returning.

Every dish came out beautifully presented, and you can really taste the authentic Thai flavors. We started with happy hour bites and drinks. The Mahanakhon and Rattana cocktails were both refreshing and well-balanced. The Roti Dip was warm, flaky, and paired perfectly with the rich curry dip. The Roll Sod (fresh spring rolls) were light and fresh, while the Muu Satay featured tender, flavorful grilled pork with a delicious peanut sauce. The Peak Gai Tod (fried chicken wings) were crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and incredibly addictive. For our entrées, the Gai Tod 5 Star was perfectly fried, crispy, and packed with flavor. The Sam Chun Tod Nam Pla (crispy fried pork belly) was one of our favorites--crispy, savory, and absolutely irresistible. The Guay Tiew Neur (beef noodle soup) was comforting with tender beef and a rich, aromatic broth. We also ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, which had a great balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. To finish, the Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect dessert. The mango was sweet and ripe, and the purple sticky rice had the purple chewy texture. Everything we ordered was delicious, portions were generous, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. Whether you're stopping by for happy hour, dinner with family, or a date night, Saneh Bangkok is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu! Highly recommend!

There was ample parking in the lit and we got seated right away! I ordered the Roti Gai Tod which comes with crispy chicken, rice, curry, roti, sweet and sour sauce, and cucumber salad. The chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful and very crispy without being dry. Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. The roti was also perfectly flaky and soft and pair beautifully with the massaman curry. The curry itself had a nice bold flavor, well-rounded spices that work together, and just a slight touch of spiciness. The potatoes in the curry were cooked perfect as well. The sweet and sour sauce was good with the chicken as well. My wife ordered the Saneh Neur Toon which is bone-in beef short rib in massaman curry with potatoes, carrots, and onions. It's also served with rice and peanuts. We asked for the peanuts on the side for both dishes by the way since I'm slightly allergic and they were very accommodating of this. The beef was amazing and was so tender that the mean was able to fall right off the bone. You can tell that they really slow-cooked the beef for hours and it came out so perfect. I don't even care for carrots but wow even the carrots were perfect. Both dishes had ingredients and flavors that felt very intentional and paired perfectly together. I have never said wow at a dish before in my life but this was the first time I actually said wow because I had never tasted anything so perfectly made before. We also got 2 drinks, a Thai iced tea and a Krungthep, which is a cocktail made of fermented wine, lychee syrup, anchun syrup, and blue curacao. The Thai iced tea was very authentic and the flavor was very bold which we liked. The cocktail was very smooth and refreshing as well. The lychee flavor really pulled through to bring the cocktail together. Overall, this is probably the best restaurant I've ever eaten at, I can't think of anything else that tops this place, especially because I've never experience the sensation of saying wow from tasting food before. We will definitey be coming back and recommending this place to our friends and family. 100/10 stars, thank you Saneh Bangkok staff and team!
