I was really not expecting such delicious pho in Oakley, but it's safe to say that Golden Gate Pho is a very solid spot. We were in the area last month and I really wanted pho, especially since it was a chilly and stormy day. Golden Gate Pho came well recommended, so it was a no brainer for us to try their food. It was a quiet day, but service was friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately. There were only a few others dining in, so it was pretty peaceful. The restaurant was clean, with ample seating. We got to sit at a comfy booth this time, but there were also regular chairs and tables for larger groups. I went with the #60 pho, which comes only in the large size. My husband went with one of his favorite Vietnamese dishes, the beef stew with bread. We didn't have to wait very long for our food to arrive. The baguette that came with the beef stew was a really nice size. It was toasted and crunchy on the outside while pillowy on the inside. I tried a bit of the beef stew itself and it was tender and seasoned well, with a rich broth. My pho was so good. I loved that it was served with the rare steak on top for me to cook at the table. The herbs were fresh and the meat was tender. There was a good amount of meat as well, and the broth was flavorful without being heavy or oily. The noodles were perfectly cooked. This was definitely one of the best bowls of pho I've had besides at my usual spots in Sacramento. While we don't go to this area often, I would really love to return whenever we next pass through. Nothing beats a solid, comforting bowl of pho, and Golden Gate Pho fits the bill.
Food consistently stays fresh and full of flavor, especially the soup! The chow fun was yummiest of what we ordered. The basil beef could have been better with the garlic noodles being fresher. Service is friendly and efficient. Ambiance is always welcoming!
First time here and not my last! Food was so good. The vibes were a win with our server Destiny, she was such a gem. We don't eat read meat she found a way to accommodate us. She didn't have to. Just go visit check the times before u go.
If you're craving hot bowl pho or garlic noodles. This is the place to go in Oakley. The service was amazing even even though they were crowded. They got everything that we needed. I tried their chicken pho this time and it was a delicious. This place is on the corner of main street in Oakley,we came here and got seated right away,noticeable some staff are smiley while other ones looks like they don't want to be there.Our orders arrived and they're all good,specially the mango smoothie.Pho is generous in servings while shortribs only have two small strips of meat.springrolls are also good and the peanut sauce is not watery.

Good location with lots of options for parking. The ambience inside is decent, nothing shabby or dirty. I feel like they put effort into their decorations. Not the cheapest pho place in the area, but pretty reliable. I would say it's better than Creasian but not as good of a deal as DaNang. Very realizable middle ground though if you don't want to drive to Antioch, or want better parking. They put a okay amount of green onions, and a wonderful amount of thinly sliced onions inside. The meat quality was also good for the rare steak pho, which is a big factor. The service is decent, but nothing really stands out too much. We didn't feel rushed in our meal though, which I appreciate.
We are loving this restaurant! Friendly staff, fast service. Very responsive to customer needs (refilling water, etc.). The restaurant is brightly colored and playing nice music. It smells wonderful when you come in! This has quickly become our favorite pho restaurant, and also our favorite soup in the area! The chicken & rice plate is very good. I really like the flavor and lightness of the fried rice here! The strawberry smoothie is tasty and seems made with very fresh ingredients. There are many offerings of pho bowls, in both regular and large sizes. All that we've tried we have liked so far! Very tasty food, nice ambiance in the restaurant- come check it out!
If you want a good PHO soup, I highly recommend Golden Gate Pho. We've been coming here ever since we moved to Oakley. The first time we came here, we fell in love with them right away. We tried their combo plate this time with an appetizer of papaya salad and salt and pepper tofu. The service here is excellent. We don't have to wait long for our order to arrive at our table. I also like the attentiveness of the person serving us. Their combo of grilled chicken is generous in size. It came with a few shrimp and an egg roll. You have a choice of their steamed rice, fried rice, or their garlic noodle. I've tried the garlic noodle with their combo and it's good The papaya salad is different. If you want to explore something other than a regular salad, you have to try this or the mango salad. It's a little bit sweet but I like the flavor and the dressing of the salad. The salt and pepper tofu is good. They serve the soft tofu and the salt and pepper have a nice flavor with the tofu. I enjoy dining here at Golden Gate Pho and will be my go-to place whenever I'm craving for PHO and a combo plate
Amazing experience once again this is our 2nd visit so happy with their service, quality of food, music & above all the prices. We have tasted their Pho Ga , fresh shrimp rolls, stir fry shrimp with bamboo & other veggies, clay pot rice with chicken. Everything was excellent & delicious. This place does everything right. So happy to try & recommend this restaurant to others. Will be back soon for their other dishes.
Solid Vietnamese in Brentwood/Oakley area! Located in a strip mall corner, not fancy but clean, plenty of space and an abundance of parking. The service is fast and polite. Ordered egg rolls and a chicken bahn mi (sandwich). The egg rolls and filling was dense for my liking, but crispy and not too greasy. The bahn mi was flavorful! I would have appreciated more veggies in the sandwich, so ask for more veggies inside!

First I heard about this place, and a good alternative to Antioch's Da Nang. I like my Pho piping hot and this place met my requirement. As with all Pho, the soup needs to be the star follow by fresh ingredients. Golden Gate Pho checks all the boxes and you get a good hearty meal. Definitely a repeat next time I'm in the area. read more

I've been here a few times never disappointed. One of Pho spots my family goes to that's close by. I did wait awhile before I was able to order I waited 10mins. I ordered vermicelli pork with egg roll very satisfying. Service for the food was fast, staff are friendly and helpful. read more

Amazing experience once again this is our 2nd visit so happy with their service, quality of food, music & above all the prices. A great meal once again ! This time we got the Chicken Clay Pot Rice. The taste and flavors were spot on, though I would have relished it more, had the rice been burnt slightly as it stuck to the clay pot. Nonetheless a very great rendition of a classic! We also got the Fresh Spring Roll with Shrimp and the Stir Fry Shrimp with bamboo shoots, both were exactly as we like them, fresh and spicy! The salt & pepper wings here are absolutely amazing!!!! The batter is perfectly light & crispy. Dip it in the provided cup of lime juice with salt & pepper for a flavor explosion in your mouth. They're so good, sometimes I get a double order and have just that for dinner read more
I've had a sit down meal here once! But I come here about 3xs a month for their Vietnamese offfee (extra condensed milk!) Service is always really punctual here, if they tell you 10 minutes, be there cause your food is already waiting! Everyone's very welcoming and super helpful, I don't have any complaints. This place is in the corner of the plaza-- once you enter it's actually a pretty decent size restaurant. So much room and tables to sit comfy and enjoy your meal. And when we're craving really good savory dinner, I'd order the following -- Chicken Wings ~ battered lightly, crispy, and so much flavor with each bite. These wings are pretty big also. Chicken lemon grass banh mi, another favorite. I really refuse to go to any other spot for banh mi because theirs is really a treat compared to any I've tried in the area. Do not skip out on the kids meals!!! Kids meal- grilled chicken, garlic noodles. They don't skip on those little $8 meals. Anyway - personally, I wasn't too big of a fan of their pho when I first ate here but I'm willing to give it another try on a cold day. However; everything above is 100/10 rec! read more

Went here last night with my boyfriend and had a pretty pleasant experience. Lots of parking because it's located in a plaza. This is probably the best place to get pho in the Brentwood/Oakley area. We both ordered the Golden Gate Combo, #61. The broth was flavorful, not bland. My only issue was that there definitely was not enough meat. I like the cuts of green onion added into the soup. I like how bright & well decorated it was inside. Overall, try it out if you're craving flavorful pho! read more

The wife and I came here on a quick appetizer date while our daughter was at her tumbling class. Now I've had a vermicelli salad from here before and it was pretty good. But this review is in regard to today's date! We went with the first three items on the appetizer menu 1. Spring Rolls 2. Egg Rolls 3. Salt and Pepper chicken wings All 3 were very good, the spring rolls had pork inside. Now personally I prefer the rolls with just shrimp. They are a little lighter. These though were really good the pork didn't taste dried out, and the rolls were overall refreshing and light. The egg rolls were really good honestly! They were mostly filled with pork and maybe some veggies, but I recommend! The chicken wings came with a lot of flair but we only got like 4, and the salt and pepper sauce was good the wings weren't seasoned so without the sauce it would've been breaded chicken only! Based on these appetizers, and trust me on the vermicelli salad I think you should give it a shot. I'm going back! read more

This is the second time here. This time we got it to go. I actually ordered through DoorDash and picked it up. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good! My meal had the rice noodles with shrimp. Seemed like a lot of noodles vs shrimp. Still yummy though. My husband really enjoyed his meal, the one with the beef. Came here today for to-go for dinner. First off, great service, nice people! Called in the order & was also ready within 15 minutes. At first glance, there is a huge portion of the serving! I ate everything one at a time (not sure why, but that's what I did today). I first ate the shrimp. The shrimp was well done! Dipped two of them in the sauce and they were devoured. I next had the egg roll and the vegetables. The egg roll was crispy! I was impressed for the level of crisp for a to-go order that was enclosed in a plastic to-go container, which would usually make any fried food soggy. The egg roll wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst; just average. The vegetables on the other hand were good. Threw the sauce on them and they were gone! I then ate the egg. Nothing special, but it was good. Then finally had some of the chicken then the garlic noodles. The noodles were good, however, tasted like it was missing a little something; possibly a bit more salt? I'm not sure, but it seemed to be missing something. The flavor wasn't all there, but was still do-able. The chicken was good & no complaints there, flavorful and a good consistency; wasn't dry or hard. Overall, the food was good & the service was too! For about $17, I got full and for some, may even have leftovers! Not bad, will try other items on the menu soon. read more

I remember bookmarking Golden Gate Pho, but for some reason never got the chance to go. In the area my wife recommended to try this place out. Inside was really nice and clean. We ordered beef pho for take out: 2 small rare steak and brisket 1 small rare steak and tendon For a small bowl, it was pretty big and lots of portion. Just enough to get your belly full. The broth and everything was delicious. Friendly staff. Next time I'll want to try the fish balls and rare steak. read more
