Steamed Veggies
Eric C.

Saw the pictures and came here with my wife on a dinner date. The place is in a lot so it might seem inconspicuous but the inside is legit. Two TV's up with the playoffs on. Sat quickly and had water on the table quick. Funny as this may sound it's legit. The water came out in these nice steel cups with the small ice chips! It tasted delicious! I ordered the shaken beef garlic noodles, and my wife ordered the shrimp garlic noodles. They both were really flavorful. Like towards the end everything was cooked together at some point. We had a side of steamed veggies they literally were just that, no salt or anything else! But you gotta get the veggies in. My wife loved Moodles and said it was her new favorite spot! Needless to say we'll be back!

I'm new to the area (work related) so seeing what Brentwood has to offer and trying new food places I'm very excited for. Went to Moodles with coworkers for some Pho on a cold day. Menu items looked good and I was tempted to try some other things but I stuck with the Pho. I believe we all ordered the Eye Round Pho in either regular or large size. Two people also split the Shaken beef with garlic noodles. The broth was delicious by itself but I had to add in some classic favorites: chili oil, hoisin, bean sprouts, mint, jalapeño and lemon squeeze. I usually add two scoops of chili oil so I did the same. Man, their chili oil is spicier than other ones I have tried. Just a tip, add it slowly. I enjoy spice but two scoops was a little too much. We all left full and satisfied!

It's not often enough I find a place like this! It was on my radar to check out, but it was family that told me I had to go with them and try it! They already had their favorites! Each of their favorites were ordered and I suggested an item they hadn't tried. Without going into all of the details, I will just say that I was impressed with the freshness and quality of every dish! I don't doubt that all of the dishes will impress! The dish that I suggested was the Chinese Sausage Fried Rice. It is so good that we ordered a second. If you like Chinese Sausage Fried Rice, order this! Overall, a small friendly place! Warm & friendly service. The cook talked to us about the food and he stopped at all of the tables! Cheers - Eric

We recently moved to Oakley and tried a few Pho places around. We found Moodles on Yelp and went to Brentwood to check them. It's just a few miles from our house so the drive was quick. Noodle is on Sand Creek Road. Parking is abundant and the place is spacious. They have a lot of tables and chairs and the place is clean. I ordered the Spicy Beef noodle with beef, pork, Vietnamese ham, and tendon. The service is fast. I had the order within 10 minutes. I ordered the regular size and it's just right. They serve a generous amount of beef. The rice noodle is soft. The soup is not too spicy. However, you can add slices of jalapeno to get more kick. I enjoyed this meal, and it will be my go-to pho soup from now on. They also serve rice plates and I will try them next time

First time here and it was very good. My friend had went the day before and loved so we had to run it back. We order a lot more food but I forgot to take pics. Please go try and it's lots of parking available. Everyone was overly friendly and that was a win! Clean and spacious

Fish sauce wings (May 2026)

Excellent Garlic Noodle with Shaken Beef! Very flavorful large portion. Decently priced but not overly priced. The fish sauce wings have some kick in them. Very tasty! The banh mi chicken sandwich was also good with its crispy bread and tasty chicken but needs more daikon pickles. Also missing the jalapeño's, but still good overall. Highly recommend after cherry picking in the area because it's very nearby. Great service and plenty of seating.

Supposed to be crispy chow fun

Writing this review for my SIL as she doesn't want to inform/complain to the restaurant, but she said she will not be back. I like Moodles. Decent place for this area and I want to support it. Recommended to friends and family. SIL ordered takeout today because my little niece wanted some crispy chow fun (I took her there last time I went). SIL texted me and said niece said it doesn't look like the one she had. This is clearly not crispy chow fun. It looks like vermicelli fried. Moodles, if you're out of ingredients, please don't substitute without informing customers. It is a very easy way to lose customers. Seen restaurants in area come and go and I want you to do well.

moodles is one of the best spots for Pho in Oakley we came in on a Sunday night. it was a full house, but we had easy seating as it was only my sister and I. the menus are creative, with the little cow spots on the menu aesthetic, and the inside ambiance spectacular: xmas tree was up, lights were lit and the Thanksgiving Football Game was on for appetizers, we ordered fried egg rolls, for mains, we got our respective Pho; i got spicy beef. and we finished our meal with a Taro Tea! food was so delicious, staff was extremely attentive and checkout was easy fried egg rolls (9/10): 4 fried egg rolls, packed with meat and veggies, served with a sweet sauce on side spicy beef pho: (10/10): generous-served pho, served with beef, noodles and onions: not too spicy taro tea (9.5/10) creamy, delicious drink

I've been hearing about this place and decided to finally give it a try. Food was very good and authentic. I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup and enjoyed every bit of it. This soup is my all time favorite and I have been eating it since I was a little kid. Flavor was there, spiciness was there, and broth is exactly how it should be. If you love eating spicy beef noodle soup, give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

Moodles is a new Asian eatery in Brentwood that serves Vietnamese dishes. The ambiance is modern, simple and clean. The service was good. Our water cups did not go dry. Garlic noodles (shrimp, beef) - 5/5 The garlic noodles were savory and delicious. The garlic flavor of the noodles was just right - not over powering or lacking. The beef topping was flavorful and tender. The shrimp topping was also good. The shrunk was not over cooked, hard or tough. The shrimp was tender. Marinated pork Banh Mi - 4/5 The pork was tender and flavorful. It just needed more sauce. The bread was good - crispy and crunchy exterior, soft and pillowy interior. I would order it again, but ask for more sauce. Beef Garlic noodles and Shrimp Garlic Noodles- 5/5 The garlic noodles were excellent. The texture was just right - not too soft out mushy, or hard and dry. The garlic noodles had the perfect garlic flavor. The beef was tender, savory and flavorful. The shrimp was also tender, not over cooked. I highly recommend trying one of their garlic noodle dishes. Fried chicken- 5/5 Nice portions of drum stick and thighs (quarters). The meat was tender not dry. The shin was crispy and tasty. I would order again. Pad Thai - 4/5 The Pad Thai rice noodles were firm, a little sticky, but delicious. The flavor was good with the combination of chicken, shrimp and tofu. The bean sprouts gave a nice crunchy texture, and the scan led eggs added a nice comfort feeling. A selection worth trying. Moodles is a wonderful Vietnamese restaurant that will thrive in Brentwood. I highly recommend giving Moodles a visit.

Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Came here after a long day of picking fruits in Brentwood. I was very surprised to find a good Asian Restaurant out here! Garlic Noodles w/ Shaken Beef: 4/5 Honestly this dish was very good but it was too oily and heavy for me. I had to order a side of broth to wash things down. Beef was super tender and perfectly seasoned doe!! Summer Roll: 4/5 The norm. Pho: 4/5 Normal. hehe to asian standards :')

Small pho

Unfortunately in 8 short months the place has taken a turn for the worse. Food lacked flavor, they were out of ingredients and when we inquired they told us they had run out since this morning but would get some tomorrow. That doesn't help my pho that you didn't warn me in advance wouldn't have any condiments to go inside it. Why not inform someone when they order an item that it wouldn't be served with the usual ingredients? Then I could have made an informed decision and ordered something else. Fried rice had rock hard rice in it. When I told my server she claimed they purposely made it this way. Not true because I've had it before and it was cooked perfectly. We will not be returning!

10/10 salt and pepper shrimp
Mike L.

Our favorite spot to eat when we're in the area. Their salt and pepper shrimp is 10/10. Fried rice has crispy garlic bits which we love. The Thai style fried fish was great as well. We love the decor and Branding insides service was great! Highly recommended!

We were in the area last month and I really wanted pho, especially since it was a chilly and stormy day. Golden Gate Pho came well recommended, so it was a no brainer for us to try their food. It was a quiet day, but service was friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately. There were only a few others dining in, so it was pretty peaceful. The restaurant was clean, with ample seating. We got to sit at a comfy booth this time, but there were also regular chairs and tables for larger groups. I went with the #60 pho, which comes only in the large size. My husband went with one of his favorite Vietnamese dishes, the beef stew with bread. We didn't have to wait very long for our food to arrive. The baguette that came with the beef stew was a really nice size. It was toasted and crunchy on the outside while pillowy on the inside. I tried a bit of the beef stew itself and it was tender and seasoned well, with a rich broth. My pho was so good. I loved that it was served with the rare steak on top for me to cook at the table. The herbs were fresh and the meat was tender. There was a good amount of meat as well, and the broth was flavorful without being heavy or oily. The noodles were perfectly cooked. This was definitely one of the best bowls of pho I've had besides at my usual spots in Sacramento. While we don't go to this area often, I would really love to return whenever we next pass through. Nothing beats a solid, comforting bowl of pho, and Golden Gate Pho fits the bill.

The staff too are always nice, the restaurant is very clean and has plenty of seating room. The location is also prime for grabbing a coffee there, or at Peet's, then going to trader Joe's after. The rice was cooked well, veggies were fresh, chicken was flavorful, and all the other toppings and sauce all worked well together. It was a world of flavors combined. The ONLY drawback that held me from giving Banh Mi Express a 5 star was the portion to price ratio. As stated earlier, I ordered a large, in which was a typical "meal prep" container. If that was the large, it made me think how small the regular size was. And to think it was basically $20 for a bowl -- thankfully it was delicious! I will definitely be coming back -- and I MUST try their sandwiches. I'm usually a sucker for Banh mi's.

I found pricing to be very reasonable, especially compared to what I've paid in Dublin and Castro Valley. I wasn't sure what "fried mochi with pork" was but was so glad I ordered it because it turns out it's one of my favorites that I've seen on other menus as "fried stuffed pork dumpling". The mochi part threw me off. And it was delicious! Everything else I had was also very good-- siu mai, har gow, baked bbq pork bun, potstickers, egg tart, milk custard bun, fried sesame ball w/red bean. I also got the fried wontons, which were my least favorite item. They weren't bad, just not as flavorful as the other items. There's no seating and no restrooms here. She is a key reason as to why we want to keep coming back; her attitude and enthusiasm is fantastic. Me and my family enjoyed our dinner and loved every dish we ordered. Their wonton soup is an excellent choice for a starter and can be shared up to at least 3 people. The wontons are fresh and tasty, the mushrooms are chunky and complement well with the bakchoy. There's even thinly sliced red pork which adds some taste and texture to the soup. We thoroughly enjoyed their spicy Mongolian chow fun. This had some sweetness to it but also some heat which was just right. The beef was super tender! It melts in your mouth. My wife ordered the Sun Kitchen sushi special which was delicious and had big pieces. The quality of sushi here is great! My son enjoyed his bento box which consisted of teriyaki grilled chicken, salad with creamy sesame dressing and then large pieces of vegetable tempura. This is an excellent deal with a good amount of choices to choose from. Jeanette and Tony frequently stopped by to check on us and made sure our meals were good and our drinks were refilled. They are so accommodating and inviting. The music they were playing in the background was on point! They were playing smooth R&B in which me and my wife were dancing.
