OMG is all i can say! i absolutely love the concept of tapas/small plates so i knew i had to stop by here during my visit to Delray Beach. the pricing and menu selections were amazing. of course i sat at the bar and so i received the best service from the bar tender. she recommended i try the red sangria and i absolutely loved it. she let me try the white sangria, but it was too sweet for my liking. the empanadas were filled with meat, literally no space for air. the sweet angels were the perfect sweet/salty combination. the pork belly was my absolute favorite, the chimi churri sauce was delicious and so garlicky just how i like it. the croquetas were also delicious, they literally melt in your mouth. i was not a fan of the flan, but i'm also very picky about my flans. i enjoyed the chill atmosphere and the music selections was A1. i would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to try tapas and wanting to explore something new . read more

No almost but I love to come here and order the empanadas appetizer and the masitas, which they only serve on Thursdays because it's sooo good! Who loves tapas? ME! I'm always on the look out for a great tapas place, and I figured I would check one out near my workplace in Florida. We ordered two tapas, Pork Belly and Fried Calamari, as well as Grilled Pork Quesadilla and Palomilla Steak to share. The Pork Belly was absolutely phenomenal - honestly some of the best i"ve had. Super juicy, tender and the latin-Asian fusion sauce had a great balance of sweet and sour. The tostones and and mixed vegetable salad also complemented the pork well. The Fried Calamari was a bit disappointing - I wish it was a bit crispier. As for the entrees, both the quesadilla and the steak was decent. The steak was a bit on the rougher side, but I'm told that the palomilla is typically rough. The quesadilla was good - stuffed and filling. Overall, the pork belly alone makes this place worth checking out. The only slight negative was with the service - bit on the slower side and the quesadilla came out with the wrong protein. 4/5 read more

On September 7 2024 I was celebrating my girlfriend Debbie birthday and as a surprise I decided to take her out to dinner to Papa's Papa's on delreay beach. This is only my personal opinion based on that particular night. Restaurant is small and was to noise, so we ask for a table outside overlooking the parking lot. Service was very slow, food was really good , and prices were reasonably. What really saved the evening was the extra ordinary attention of our attendant Lorenzo is as authentic as they come, very personable, courteous and attentive and then there she came Crissy the manager with a beautiful smile and magnetic personality, we will be back on a week day.Maybe Saturday night is way too busy. 4.5 Their arroz con pollo is fire! Delicious Yummy Just a great dish! We ordered it for my birthday party and you actually get it in this awesome pan! You pay 50 dollars for the pan just in case you don't bring it back, but they refund you the 50 dollars back once the pan is returned to them. IT WAS HUGE! I will post a picture of it! I just really enjoy this arroz con pollo. We ordered enough for 20 people and there was still left overs even though everyone had a serving and even a second serving! Great idea for a party everyone! We've been meaning to eat here for years. Finally we made it in on a random Tuesday night since the kids are on spring break. Much to our surprise we came on a night that is half of Tapas. Apparently every Tuesday that's their special. This is such great deal on some really great food. My family & I enjoyed ordering a whole lot of tapas! My two kids also ordered kids meals as well as sharing tapas with my husband & I. These are very nice portions for kids meals. Not to mention the chicken tenders on my daughter's kids meal were actual real freshly made chicken tenders that were breaded/scratch made... and not something that is premade, frozen, came out of a box or bag in their freezer and then just deep fried. I very much appreciate when the kids meals at restaurants are quality meals and not just thrown together fast food-like garbage. We loved every single tapa that we ordered. The desserts were amazing as well. We ordered 3 desserts. The pistachio flan, Tres Leches cake and the chocolate cake. It was hard to pick a favorite because they were all delicious. Service was really friendly too. When the bill came my husband and I were so pleased that we came in on a Tuesday night. This deal on the tapas on Tuesday is truly amazing. What a gem this place is. Someone told me about this restaurant so I had to try it. My mother was Dominican, and passed away 5 years ago, so my wife was kind enough to buy me arroz con pollo, tostones and beef empanadas. Even though we live 30 minutes from the restaurant and I came home a half hour after, I was shocked at how fresh and delicious the meal was. I can not wait to eat in the restaurant if the food is this good sitting for an hour! We were looking for a good Paella spot in Palm Beach County since we moved here. We've been to Eatapas in Broward County before and their Paella was soooo good. We didn't have a reservation and went on a Saturday evening. We didn't have a long wait. We were seated outside. This restaurant is in a plaza so there are plenty of parking spots near there. Our waiter's name was Antonio. He was amazing. Our 3 star was mainly because of his great service. He made sure we were taken care of at all times. He didn't forget "no ice" in any of my drinks which was already a great service in my books lol. Now let's talk about the food. For some reason, all the dishes, except the potatoes, were too salty for me. My husband didn't seem to mind it. So I guess it depends on how salty you like your food. Both the sauteed octopus and sauteed mushrooms had great flavors with lots of garlic but over salted which was such a turn off. We decided to place our Paella order as soon as we sat down as it takes time to make. It looked so delicious when it came out. But unfortunately, again the dish was too salty. The seafood could have been more fresh as the clams and calamari had fishy smell (if it's more fresh, the seafood shouldn't smell this fishy) to it. I am not sure if I will be back here again. Amazing sangria and paella. The restaurant is very homey. There is parking outside the restaurant, but sometimes finding a space can be difficult. The Paella Marinera is filled with seafood and very flavorful. The paella takes awhile to make so be sure to put your order in early, but it is definitely worth the wait. Visited Papa's Tapas last night for the first time last night and it is safe to say that the Pineapple Grove District of Delray Beach continues to be my favorite for excellent restaurants per capita. We had a 6:30 pm reservation and were promptly seated upon arrival. It was humid and a little rainy so we decided to sit inside. While there is outdoor seating it is basically in a parking lot. Not much of a view but if you prefer to enjoy the outdoors, that option definitely exists. Inside is pretty basic, and on the dark side, so be prepared to get out your cellphone flashlight to read the menu. But the menu is where Papa's Tapas really shines! Well, that along with the service which really could not be nicer. Not being familiar with the wine list, our Server, Cassidy, offered me a sampling. The Tempranillo was delicious. So much so that I ended up drinking 2 1/4 glasses (helped my friend finish off of a bit of theirs). We decided to stick with the spirit of a Tapas restaurant and forgo the main plates for a sampling of offerings. We went with - Croquetas. On the recommendation of our server, we went with the Ham and Chicken (you can mix and match in your order). They are served with a side of what we believe was an aioli, which was fine albeit not really necessary. It would have been helpful when they brought these out (they were not brought to our table by Cassidy) they could have told us which was which. Even after cutting them open, it was hard to tell. But they are both good. Mini Cubanitos. As it sounds these are mini Cuban sandwiches that come two to a plate (actually it is one small sandwich sliced in half). I really enjoyed this as it was also the only bread I ate during the meal. They did bring two nice size rolls to the table, but you know, carbs. Chorizo Al Jerez. This is a sausage sauteed with sherry wine. I found this to be delicious, but be it known that the serving size is much more than you would expect! I could have eaten this entire dish except (a) I was sharing and (b) we way over-ordered! Meatballs Andalucia. Again, a very generous portion size albeit this was probably my least favorite dish of the evening (although that did not stop me from eating two). Nothing 'bad' per se about them, but probably not something I would re-order. Papas Bravas. Fried potatoes with aioli that are pretty addictive. Fried potatoes. Enough said. Truth is, the menu is such that I can see going back and not re-ordering anything from this first meal. There are simply too many tasty options to choose from, and I look forward to future meals at Papa's Tapas and working my way through the menu. A friendly, comfortable space (and yes, it will fill up!) with good food, that won't break the bank (total excluding the tip was $129.47). read more

Tortilla was a great portion size for the price. Empanada dough and filling worked perfectly in unison for a unique flavor and good texture. Family ran business. The host sat us down and since it was our first time the niece told us how it all began. Loved that!! Now the food was just delicious, we ordered, chicken & meat empanadas, cheese croquetas, sautéed mushrooms, pan tomaca & queso mantengo. They all delicious. For the main our older son had the skirt stake medium cooked to perfection, younger son had the cilantro mango chicken and my husband and I shared the bass fillet fish. Wow! Great find! We came to Delray to have lunch at another restaurant, but they were closed for lunch on the weekends. (I've let yelp know). So we walked down the street and found this place. Sometimes accidents like this are just meant to happen. And we are ecstatic that it did, cause we probably wouldn't have gone here. Although they have a number of lunch offerings on their menu, we decided to choose a couple items from their tapas listings and share. We love small plates as you get a chance to try more things. First we were given a basket of fresh rolls and a homemade natural tomato dip for the table. We added a touch of salt. It was a mild, good starter that was pure and full of tomato flavor. Then we shared the gambas en ajillo tapas-- shrimp in garlic. Eight shrimp were swimming in the delicious olive oil and garlic base. The garlic was sliced thinly and had a nutty flavor. We ate the shrimp and sopped up the leftover oil with more bread. Yum! We then shared the open faced shredded pork montadito. It was an open faced sandwich (two sides) mounded with shredded pork meat. In the middle of the two pieces of bread was a bit of mixed greens. We squeezed the lime over the pork and piled on the greens. Some of the oil from the shrimp I added to make a dressing. I ate my half with a knife and fork. A bit messy but good, too. For dessert, we decided to share an order of flan. It was served dusted with confectioners sugar and on the side a couple dollops of real whipped cream. The caramel sauce it rested on was perfect. The caramel was dark and flavorful -- not burnt like you can sometimes get it. It was creamy --- one of the best flans I've had in a very long time. This is a true Spanish restaurant with lots of other offerings from the variety of paellas you should preorder to the steaks and meat dishes. They even have green sauce! The menu of tapas has both hot and cold listings so you could come for a snack or lunch (like we did) or a full dinner of small plates. But they also have sandwiches and salads, too. We can't wait to return. Lots more to sample!! read more

My second time here. The first time was about 8 months ago and I really liked it. This time not so much. The shrimp appetizer has very little garlic and was barely lukewarm. The mushrooms were under cooked and had no seasoning just a lot of oil. The real issue I had was with the Paella. It was just pathetic . One of the clams tasted off. The lobster was only 1/2 of a tail, there were small brown pieces that I think was chicken and it just had no Spanish flavor. Nothing like anything from any of the many restaurants in the Ironbound district of Newark. So disappointing . Will not go back. read more

GOOD FOOD, BAD SERVICE - DON'T RECOMMEND We went here for dinner on Friday. We arrived a little after 6pm. After some confusion on seating, the waiter brought us menus. He did not introduxe himself, he did not list specials, and he seemed very irritated we were even there. Our plan was to order tapas until our 4th arrived and then have paella altogether. Time between courses was long - as much as 30 minutes at one point. We ordered our paella with our second round of tapas, and that's where it REALLY went wrong. It apparently takes "45 minutes to an hour for the order." We waited **90+ minutes** and, even though we paid for and ordered the lobster-seafood version, got the chicken-seafood version with a lobster tail. It was so much time waiting on courses my husband and daughter had to leave because she was tired (around 830pm). Worst tapas experience I've had. read more
