My family and I find it pretty simple and easy ordering from Panera during the pandemic. The online ordering app is so easy and I never have any issues when it comes to picking up my food at this particular location compared to others. However when it's later on in the day, various items seem to be out of stock. The food is pretty good for your basic soups, salads, and sandwiches. My 3 year old nephew is a fan of their cookies and everything so far has tasted very fresh. I usually get a you pick 2 with a soup or Mac and cheese and a salad. I'm a fan of the green goddess. Their grilled cheese sandwiches are quite large and the bread can be kind of tough to your teeth. As for service, during covid I feel like they have been great and are very efficient. I've done curbside pick up and have not have any issues. They come directly to tour car with everything, I did have to wait one day when it was pretty busy. But more recently the service has been quick and easy and I just stroll in and pick up my order and I'm on my way! read more

I wanted my tuna sandwich toasted and my chicken noodle soup was too salty. However, Selene, was so nice and accommodating that I was really pleased with my food and her excellent customer service. She not only toasted both sides of my sandwich but also changed my soup to a delicious broccoli cream soup. She deserves a raise for being the best part of the Panera family. I like Panera, great bakery items, good variety of food, great coffee related stuff. Unfortunately, in the year or so I have lived in Vallejo this location has been closed due to staff shortages at least half the time so I've had to pick up my online orders in the drive-thru which is annoying because it makes a 30 second process a 10 minute process. This is not a fault of the staff, they are all nice people, working hard, but a management and corporate issue. You need to attract more employees, either with more money, better benefits, who knows, but the food here is not cheap and I expect to be able to pick up my order in a reasonable time for the price. I'm moving anyway next month but in the meantime I will never go to this Panera location again. I haven't been to Panera for quite sometime since I have gift card I decided to used it. I bought Chinese chicken salad which was ok with 4 small sized bite chicken breast, ordered 2 bowls of Thai soup which was also ok and also ordered steak sandwich. Since I've ordered too much just for the two of us I didn't eat the steak sandwich and other bowl of soup. After 2 days I remembered I have steak sandwich which I haven't touched after heating it up and cut in middle that's how sandwich looked like; where's the rest of the beef? I received a gift card for the business, so tried this location. I had only been once before years ago at the Napa store, so pretty much had to reaquaint myself with the menu. I considered myself lucky to get here before the CA min. wage increase for fast food workers is set to take effect. As this will almost undoubtedly raise menu prices across the board. After several minutes studying the menu, I opted for the roasted turkey & avocado BLT (to go). Kinda my fault, but I read roasted to mean a hot-melt sandwich, but this one's served cold. Still not a bad choice. They have what looks to be an attractive "pick 2" option where you can pair a half-sandwich with either soup or salad. I passed on that bowing to excess sodium fears. But overall, I found the price fair for my 1 full sandwich item. 1 sandwich=$14 (approx). Add soup or salad and a beverage however and you're easily north of the $20 threshold for a random lunch. Service wise, they were fully staffed (no surprise there considering the aforementioned pay bump coming for the workers). Workers were friendly and were passing out free cookies to guests. Wait wasn't long and the interior looked spotless. Some of the seating areas had charging ports and this location also has a handy drive-thru. They have an interesting "sip club" monthly membership with an unlimited drink feature for those so inclined? Subtracting a star because the self-serve ordering kiosks just inside the entrance were all down. I enjoy that ordering option, but signage says they'll be back up soon. Do not come here if you value your time. I walked into a pretty empty Panera around 9a on Tuesday. I ordered 2 dozen Tuesday dozen bagels cut in half and one sesame seed toasted with cream cheese. Almost 30mins go by I'm standing there waiting, mind you THERE WAS NOT ANYONE ORDERING AHEAD OF ME WHEN I GOT THERE. the staff asked this one guy about his order multiple times. And finally in got irritated because I'm coming here after working a long shift and just wanting to take something to work for my coworkers when I go back. Considering there they a slicer it shouldn't take almost 40 mins to cut a couple dozen bagels and put them in a bag. This tall blonde woman who I'm assuming is the manager says to me there were a lot of big catering orders ahead of you. If that was the case then she should have staffed her establishment accordingly because that wait time was unacceptable. And my sesame seed bagel was barely toasted when i opened it. never going back to this location again.. while the out side looks nice it's ghetto as hell. Staff is great, my only complaint is that i often have to wait and ask for a cup for my pre order because they often forget to put it out unless I also buy food along with a drink. Out of the near daily times I've went I've only had someone put out a cup for me like twice. If they had open access to cups like other Panera's I'd understand but having to wait and ask every time is just a bit much. My family and I have always eaten Panera and have never been disappointed with the food nor the cleanliness of all the locations. When we heard that Vallejo was getting a Panera, we were ecstatic. The food has remained of good quality but the cleanliness of the Vallejo location is well below what I have seen/experienced from other Panera locations; All the tables and chairs/benches were sticky and were caked with residue of past meals. I get that Vallejo is not Walnut Creek but the people deserve a clean place to dine. Notedid see the manager or supervisor walk around with a broom and dust pan but she did not bother to do anything about the filthy floors. The lady bussing the tables pretended to wipe a corner of a table but clearly left the crud. My family decided to do a rapid pickup on a rainy day. While we checked the order for type and count, we did not open up the sandwiches....they forgot the pickles on the full sandwiches! I love the pickles. Update, 5/22/22: Knowing that I was feeling under the weather, my wonderful wife surprised my daughters and I with Panera. She ordered while she was at work (bless her heart). She ordered me a chicken Baja bowl which typically is great simple dish. The one issue is that they did not include any chicken at all (see photo). I called the establishment and asked for the manager. I spoke to Corey and he apologized and said, the only thing he could do was to provide a complimentary meal when I came in next because it was ordered through Door Dash. I agreed. I don't like leaving negative reviews but here we go. Today 12/23/21 at 1:23pm, my daughter and I decided to stop here for lunch because she likes the mac & cheese. We ordered through the kiosk and patiently waited. Here's our order: Kids mac & cheese, yogurt, strawberry smoothie, candy cookie and a 1/2 soup and sandwich with chips on the side. This shouldn't take long right? I started getting worried that it would be a while when I saw a lot of people irritatingly waiting and checking their receipts. I had a feeling we walked in at a bad time. At 1:55pm, our food was ready. 32 minutes! I understand service can take a while, especially during these times, but come on! It's not like this food is made from scratch. We all know it's pre-packaged and isn't fresh (if you don't know this, don't let the fancy name and ambiance fool you). The wait irritated me but didn't make me mad. Here's what ticked me off: when I went to go retrieve my order, my daughter's cookie was missing. I tell the young lady that the cookie is missing from our order and her reply is "you have to go get it from the front counter". I told her that I ordered from the kiosk, not the front and her reply is "well, we don't have the cookie back here" so I ask her "can you get it for me?" and her response is "you have to get it from the front". Really?!?! Seriously, you have customers who have been waiting well over too long for their food and when an item is missing, you make them go get it? Was it really that hard for her to ask a co-worker to get it or for her to walk over the same distance as me to get it? Upset, I hella cut in front of people ordering to get my daughter's cookie because there's no way I was getting in a line to wait, not when I already ordered and an item was missing. Have some sympathy for the customer and fulfill their order! COME ON! When our order was ready, I couldn't believe that they let it sit up on the counter that long. I should have asked them to remake it but yeah, I didn't wanna chance the wait again. The service and execution at this location straight up SUCKS! Deuces Panera Vallejo! If you keep this up, you'll end up like your neighbor, Rubio's, who shut down a few weeks ago. I know I should be more patient when it comes to restaurant workers during these times and what not but simple service and empathy is not hard. Places like Chick-fil-A would have responded with "I'm sorry sir, let me get that for you?" not, "you have to go get that yourself". If you're in customer service, your job is to SERVE the customer. Ok, I'm done. And if a manager is seeing this, no, I don't need a complimentary free meal to make it right. Please, train your employees to SERVE. Even if you're running behind, communicate, apologize, and do everything you can to make the experience as best as possible. I had to meet some folks one night this week and I ordered the pick two. I got the Autumn Squash soup with half of a Turkey avocado sandwich. It came with a very hard piece of bread. The soup was divine! It had a bit of sweetness to it, yet perfect on a winters eve. The turkey sandwich was blissful on rustic bread. I like this new location. Excellent service; Angela, the general manager, is doing a fantastic job improving the store's service and appearance. I stop in two or more times per week, and she is usually there working hard in the "trenches" with her staff. I would only ask that a more significant effort be made to keep the dining area clean; for instance, when customers leave, tables should be squared away promptly: wiped down, trash disposed of, and the floor swept. I do not doubt that Angela will do her best to make sure this happens, and as I stated in my review of another restaurant, staffing shortages are at the heart of this issue, I believe. One word: disappointed Made an online order for curbside pickup. Estimated time of completion 15 to 20 mins from ordering. Arrived early before pick up time and notified the online order we arrived. We waited patiently a few minutes pass the completion time. I've been here a few times & food has been great BUT the last time I was there it' will be my last time! Not only did we wait in drive thru for 30 mins we were missing food, our food was Grossgustin! Our sandwiches were DRY! There was NO Mayo no nothing on either sand which! Our chicken salad we ordered had 2 pieces of in it & we even ask for extra chicken. No more orders from me. On 8/11/21 I had a 8:30 am curbside pick up order to pick up. Got an alert it was ready. Pulled into correct space, checked in and sat there and waited .. and waited. After 13 minutes I went into the store, there were no customers inside and a lady cleaning some display counter in the lobby. I asked for my order to be brought out .. went back to my car .. and waited another 5 minutes. Took almost 20 minutes to get my order and a very melted caramel drink. Later I opened my 1/2 chicken sandwich (with barely a tablespoon of chicken on it) to take off the onion and pulled off a long strand of hair. Went through the drive through this Sunday evening. The kids were to busy laughing to take my order, then she calmed down and what do ya know, she got it wrong. Then the guy at the window asks me to park out front and they'll bring it to me. After 14 minutes I went in and asked the manager if they forgot my order.
