I love this place ! It is right next to my racquetball club Citysports and I'll get a macchiato espresso on my way back to the freeway. Always super clean, lots of hard working super organized staff. The manager Alicia and Emilio are very cheery and helpful. All of the employees are great. The food is clean and fresh and reasonably priced, the pastries and bread phenomenal. I am so happy that they opened up a Panera Bread near my work place! During the grand opening, the lines were super long and went outside the door, but the line moved quickly and efficiently. Staffers were stationed throughout the line to explain what the ordering processes and to answer any questions that they might have on the menu. The chicken frontegra panini and turkey/artichoke paninis were so good, that I always have temptations to order a second helping! Great 2-item menu combo for $6.99, and of course, their bagels, bread, and pastries, are among the best that I have ever eaten. Panera has always been a favorite. Got even more excited when they opened up a branch off Lawrence Expressway. It did not take too long for the community to fill it up for lunch & dinner. or that cinnamon crunch bagel. Just recently I noticed they now have three order counters, and a pick up shelf for orders that have been placed ahead of time. And a screen that shows your name and who's order is being prepared. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review but enough is enough. (This is in response to my most recent horrible visit, but I need to mention that the four previous times were just as bad or worse.) This location has the worst customer service and the highest degree of being unreliable (not once have they gotten my order correctly). This last visit, I placed an order for myself and three other family members (2 salads and 2 sandwiches with all sides being chips). The first issue being, no receipt. No receipt was offered to me. The instant my order was done and I paid (and I mean, instantly), the cashier quickly walked away without offering my receipt. By the time she came back from the back (10 minutes later), she moved onto other tasks (restocking the water bottles). By then, I thought to myself, I guess I won't need my receipt (that was my mistake). The second issue was the wait, I waited and stood there like an idiot for a total of 28 minutes. (It's worth noting that I did inquire about the status of my order halfway through that waiting, whereby, I was told, "Your orders coming up.") I was only able to get my order by asking a third time (in response to observing a customer who came 10 minutes after me receive her order). My order turned out to be placed on a side table next to the register (at minute 24 of my waiting) without anyone calling out my name - it was just placed and left. The last issue was an incomplete order. (Once again, a mistake on my part, because I allowed a simple sticker seal of the bag [and my rush to get home to my family] to stop me from tearing apart the seal and checking the bag contents before leaving the establishment.) When I got home and opened the bag, all of my side orders were absent. As a result of this, I immediately called the establishment to speak to a manager and conveyed the facts of my visit. All the manager offered was a simple, "I'm sorry." Nothing more was stated by said manager and he conveyed have a goodnight and ended the call. Oh, one more mistake on my part, I tipped them. I actually tipped them to be mistreated and disrespected for a fifth time. I didn't learn from my 4 previous visits, but it's simply because I am optimistic and a nice person. Well, I can't recommend this location. In fact, I warn others to avoid this location and find a different Panera. For me, it is the last time I will ever visit a Panera location. I'll find a salad elsewhere. read more

We went there at least a couple times a month, if not more. During the pandemic, we ordered from select restaurants. Last night, we ordered online and opted for Pick-Up service, at the East Arques location. My bf ordered the Turkey, Avocado BLT. He customized his order by adding Spicy Mustard. I ordered the Green Goddess Cobb Salad. I customized my order by: adding more grape tomatoes, more pickled red onions, extra dressing, more bacon and gorgonzola cheese. First, my bf called me at home, so that I could Click on the We have arrived button. I had put in notes as to the type of car he was in and his attire. After 5+ minutes, he called me to say that no one came out. So I called the restaurant and after a short wait spoke with a male. I explained that my bf was there and waiting. I gave him out order number and the type of car. He said that he would go check. A few minutes late my bf let me know that he got it. Next, the salad came packed in a very small container; even though I ordered the Full size salad. I liked the very strong Green Goddess dressing, but the plastic cups were so tiny! It was barely enough to dress the salad and I paid extra for extra. There was only 1 sliver of boiled egg. The amount of Avocado was good. The bacon, which I paid extra for more, was barely detectable. Same with the Grape tomatoes. Luckily, there was no extra charge for those. Regarding the Pickled Red Onions, that I paid extra for extra? No onions at all. There was also very little lettuce. Wow, I was so bummed! We DEFINITELY will NOT go back to the E. I thoroughly read Panera's article on their web site about all the gluten free options available and was thrilled! I met an old friend there who had already ordered, went to the cashier, and asked about one of the salads I thought was gluten free. He asked a co-worker who responded "really nothing here is gluten free. You can't eat anything here." With my friend waiting I ordered just a drink. I probably won't be back even though it's across the street from where I work. Food is good but they ALWAYS mess up my order. I usually order online, for to-go, and do customize/substitute ingredients, but 100% of the times, there is something wrong with the customization/substitution. I only complained once though, when they put chicken in my food and I am a vegetarian. Well, if you can't customize, then why even offer the substitutions? This review has been long overdue. I've been going to this location since they opened. And every single visit the staff have greeted me with a big smile. They have fresh bread and pastries.This is why I get breakfast for our whole office every Friday for more than a year now. It's always ready on time of pick up. There's an option online to schedule all your order ahead of time. I normally don't come here during lunch hour as this plaza can be very crowded due to the gym close by. But last week I craved for their muffie and cookies. About four customers ahead of me ordered Chicken and Wild Rice Soup. I was intrigued and ordered the same. I informed them of this the first time and I talked to the manager who told me to come back as they were putting me on a VIP list. So I came back today, the day after, and ordered with the manager and the processed my order for a Fuji chicken salad with extra chicken. Guess what happened? I received the salad once again with no chicken at all again. How is this possible? If I could give this place a 0 star I would. The manager Pedro was being an echo to his associate ARIEL regarding a doordash order to me while I was on the phone. Instead of taking the phone and speaking to me directly. I let him know a man picked up my order and said he did not have the souffles only drinks and a spinach wrap. I called the location and let them know what the guy who delivered said and they said a woman picked up my order. Sooooo I'm blind now, they said they can't do anything I need to call doordash. Super disappointed. We ordered catering for an employees birthday. An hour before delivery I noticed they switched out the cream cheese flavors to plain (who wants 3 dozen bagels and a bunch of plain cream cheese). I called the store and was transferred around only to be told the order could not be changed because it was out for delivery. Extremely frustrating and annoying! The person I spoke to on the phone was super rude and unsympathetic. Why the hell are bagels for ten out for delivery when we are less than 2 miles away? I get it, they're doing multiple deliveries, but that means my order is just riding around in the back of a truck for an hour? Panera has quietly grown ridiculously expensive. My favorite lunch, a pick-2 combo with a soda, now runs about $17 all in. And for that I get a sandwich portion with a measly 1-oz. measure of meat in it. Ridiculous. And this particular restaurant has bad staff. Normally, I would say Panera Bread is a good deal. Dozen and a half bagels for $15... not that bad. Their baked goods are a decent price, I would still buy their baked goods. So why a 2 star review? Their Fresh Fruit Salad. I ordered 2 large fruit salad for $34.99 each. I noticed that only 1 was delivered, so when I called to ask for a refund, they said that they combined the 2 large bowls for 1 super large fruit salad bowl. I've made fruit bowls before... this "super large" fruit salad for a combined price of $69.98 holds no more than 1 cantaloupe, 1 melon, 1 pineapple and a couple of handfuls of grapes. The dimension of the bowl is about 9x9x4 inches... It's a pretty darn small bowl for a $70 fruit salad! -__- read more

I like Panera, but this is my least favorite location. My fiance and I ordered a soup, a both bowl, and sandwich to-go, sadly none of which were very enjoyable. The soup was thick and bland, the sandwich was made wrong, and they had put the tortilla chips in the broth bowl, not on the side as a to-go broth bowl should, so they were soggy by the time we got home. What you see is what you get. It's a bit on the pricey side, but the food is always reliably consistent from store to store. It's also freshly made, and you can customize to a certain extent (I always ask for no onions in my Chicken Frontega Panini). I like the fact that you can choose from a variety of sides (apple or chips, but why an additional roll?). Their chicken noodle soup is tasty as well. This particular location is pretty new and has a lot of seating space. If you can't find a table in the front room, there is also another room in the back past the kitchen service window. Parking is fairly easy, even at peak lunch hours. read more

Another Panera Bread. I'm stoked on this location because it's just down the street from where I work. I had doubts about this spot because from Lawrence expy, it looksl ike it shares a parking lot with the new City Sports, but luckily it doesn't share a parking lot and seems to have a relatively good amount of spots of its own. That being said I'm quite partial to their turkey and avocado sandwhich & their black bean soup. Also Panera generally offers some of the best (unsweetened) iced tea flavors I've ever seen which gets them all the stars, all of them. read more
