If I could give this Panera 0 stars I would! I normally go to the Clovis location but I was out on vacation and this Panera was on the way so I stopped to eat a healthy dinner of a Ham and Swiss sandwich. First they don't have Swiss. So I only order a Ham sandwich and when it arrives to the table it is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen normally you'd expect sliced ham instead I received something that looked like ham that had been pre chewed and stuck under the bread! Do not go to this location unless you want to throw up instead of eat!!! read more

I was so excited when I got off Bart and saw Panera Bread. Since then every time I have taken that Bart I have eaten here. Again, parking totally sucks but I have found spots on the side street that parallels 101. It isn't the best Panera Bread I have been to, but it does its job and keeps my tummy full and satisfied. read more

I ordered a meal online, which included 2 chocolate chips muffin tops. When I showed up to pick up the meal there were no more muffin tops left. The manager allowed us to get whatever bakery item we wanted even if it wasn't the same price as the muffin top and to top it off he gave us a third bakery treat complimentary. read more

I love their Bagels....all of them. Not too airy or fluffy but just right. Been going there for a long time. I had a not so good experience the other day. First time having a bad experience. I had gone to Panera last Sunday at 5pm to order Bagels for the next day. I gave the sales clerk my order for one dozen bagels and received a receipt of my order that said they would be ready for the next day. When I arrived the next morning I was told by the sales clerk that there were no bagels for me. I did not understand as I had proof of my order in written form. I asked for the manager (Eddy) and was told by him that the order never should have been promised to me as they need more than 24 hours to process their orders. I asked why then was I provided with a receipt that showed they would be ready that am? Eddy said again that they needed more time to process the order and it should have never been done? I was informed there were two bagels left and I could purchase those which I did. No "I'm sorry" or apologies from the manager. In fact the only who did apologize was the nice sales clerk. Love visiting Panera. Their food and pastries are pretty consistent whenever I visit. Whenever I'm craving good ol nothing fancy Mac and Cheese this is my go to place. They have the creamiest most flavorful Mac and Cheese that I even looked up the recipe online and decided to make it :) Their soups can be a hit or miss. Their french onion soup is extremely salty, but their chicken noodle soup is pretty good. I've tried a bunch of their sandwiches, however, I think they are pretty overpriced. Their salads pretty filling and seem pretty fresh. Their loaves of bread are freshly baked and their pastries are pretty yummy. Their acai or tropical iced teas and their selection of coffees are perfect refreshments to wash your food down. read more

I love this place! Great on a summer day with a salad or a winter or fall day with a great bowl of soup. I frequent this place as often as I can. The first time I got introduced to a Panera was in LA about 5 years ago and I was so happy when this came to Millbrae. The service I receive is usually great, very friendly, and the other night the woman even offered us samples of the soups we were pondering. The food never ceases to please and I like the different combinations you can create with the pick 2 option. Free wi-fi and a cozy environment top this place off for me! read more

Grilled cheese was not so great. However, the tuna salad sandwich and the turkey avacado blt was decent. Very pricey for just a sandwich. The choc chip cookie was also decent. We came here around 8pm and almost everything was out which sucked since there were not much to choose from. Disappointed they ran out of 90% of things on the menu before closing time. Also, the soda machine was weird since for the Mountain Dew it gave us Diet Coke. They also ran out of drinks at the soda machine. Sorry to post this but this Panera is on the skids. Regularly, they run out of ingredients and don't bother to tell the customer. The risk is that you get a dish that does not look remotely like what they market. Sad state of affairs and the neglected seating area add up to an inhospitable situation. There are many dining options in area, so if management does not fix this situation and focus on delivering to customers what they think they are ordering, this Panera's days are numbered... read more

Good pastries, okay lattes, GREAT soup in the bread bowl, decent panini sandwiches, and FREE WIFI. It can get crowded on weekends and everyone's on their laptops so they sit there for hours. i had never been to a panera bread until i visited my dad out in virginia/DC where they were everywhere. now that i'm back in the bay, i can't get enough of it. it's like starbucks&boudins rolled into one. love the seating areas. they can accommodate big groups to someone who just wants to get work done in a booth. and it never seems like it's overcrowded with the set up. just right. i try to come in before 10:30 to grab a breakfast bagel with sausage and egg, hold the cheese - it makes me queasy. and then the real fun comes when i'm debating about which coffee i need to have that morning. always fresh and satisfying. they usually change out the coffee around 10:15. i opt for the dark roast, perfect to start the day. read more

Came here after Bay to Breakers starving, so it should have been pretty hard to not please us. They were out of baguette and chocolate chip cookies. They trays on which our food came were all wet, probably from the dishwasher, and the napkins ended up soggy wet. They gave me chicken noodle soup, but I ordered chicken wild rice soup, so I had to go back up to the counter to get what I ordered. Their pagers didn't seem to work, so they had to call out all the orders that were ready over the PA system. read more

I really wanted to love it because I'm a big fan of clean and healthy eating but it's kind of hard to love jt when you find hair in your salad; not one.....but two . Very poor customer service. I gave this place two different chances and both times they let me down. First time I visited all I wanted was a coffee and their wifi to kill about 30-45 minutes before a meeting. Used a gift card to pay and had zero problems so far. As I'm waiting for my drink, they started playing mariachi music over the speakers abnormally loud, quite annoying music. Got my drink and proceeded to look for a table to relax and was greeted by 6-8 hispanic panera employees that were on their break that were giving me evil looks and standing in my way because I said "Excuse me" to get by their group that were in the middle of the floor. One douche (I wish that I had gotten his name, saw me coming, stopped right in front of me, eyed me up and down and then cut me off and took a booth to himself). Douche. Second visit a couple of days later. I had more money on my gift card and had more time to kill and I was hungry. Standing at the register and asked for two whole sandwiches to go (two for my girlfriend and I to split). I felt bad because the lady taking my order was obviously just starting, might have even been her first day. 4 registers, 2 were open, and about 7 people behind me waiting in line. I order and she doesn't know how to process the gift card, understandable because it was her first day. Instead of helping her like good employees do, 5 hispanic employees not even 5 feet away behind her are laughing, giggling and socializing in spanish in plain view, not caring about all of the people that are waiting. Finally, the little white girl asks for someone to help her, and the person that "was supposed to be helping her", very rudely says to me "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" like I was doing her a favor. After dealing with her nasty attitude and all, I ordered my food to go because I just didn't want to be there anymore and I had already wasted 20 minutes and my break was already half over. Got home and noticed they a) got my order wrong and b) food tasted like crap. Do yourself a favor and go to L&L's right next door for 10 times better food and 100 times better customer service. We went to this establishment today and a woman in line was concerned about waiting because she had to get home to a sick family member. The wait was ridiculous. She was quite upset after they wouldn't get a manager for her, but when I saw the manager, who finally came, laugh at her, I swear I will never go back. I know there can be different managers who are kind, but the wait was way too long with only one cashier at lunch time. read more

The young man who took my order when I came in to the Panera, was rushing me. Since it is my first time here, I wasn't sure about what to order so I ordered half a sandwich and a bowl of soup. He was rushing so fast through my order ask me if I would like side orders. Then answers for me and says no okay no free side dishes. I almost missed out on some extra side dishes that I was entitled to from the order. I went to the restroom while my food was being prepared and just ended up sitting. I stood up and started ask the lady that was cleaning up if I should wait for my food or should I pick it up at the window. The lady spoke to me in Spanish and obviously did not know any English at all, I proceeded to the back area like where I'm supposed to I guess pick up my food and the lady there could not speak English either. So she said another lady came up that could speak English and said she had already called my name so they were not even serving me. I finally managed to get my dinner with the dirtiest of looks when I told her I was dining in. I am now typing this review up and the young gentleman that took my order asked me if I was going to be able to leave at my earliest convenience because they were closed. all in all it was a terrible experience at this restaurant read more

I absolutely love Panera. I really enjoy their lemon orzo soup, chicken noodle and my favorite tomato soup. Their bread is some of the best around. I really like the crunchy top and soft center. I also enjoy their salad with crunchy apple crisps and if you feel like splurging, their new cupcakes are so yummy. The only reason why this Panera doesn't get more stars from me is because the parking is such a nightmare. You can easily get trapped in by the In'N'Out line that runs out the door. The outdoor seating area is nice but I don't enjoy the bees. read more

I'm all over their yummy quiche pastries! It's like a croissant and quiche, all rolled into one. Combine it with hazelnut coffee and free wifi, let's just call it a perfect weekend morning... I think this replaces the old school of the lazy Sunday morning coffee and newspaper... My review is for their rapid online ordering only. The food is four and one-half stars but beware of the online ordering- CHECK YOUR ORDER before you leave the restaurant. I got all the way home and found they had shorted me two items. I called the customer service line to see if I could get credited and they said it was a "franchised" store and that they would try calling the store to explain about my order being short by two items (already paid for). No one at the Millbrae store was apparently picking up so the customer service rep said he would talk to them about crediting me for the two missed items. Five days later- nada, no follow-up, no credit for the missing items. CHECK YOUR ORDER before leaving the restaurant! Lesson learned! read more

i know, i know, i must be living under a rock but this is the first time i've ever tried a REAL BAGEL. i mean, freshly baked bagels, not the nasty pre-packaged ones from pak-n-save. so maybe i'm not the bagel genius here, but i definitely enjoyed panera's bagels. you can get a baker's dozen of bagels, half a dozen...i decided to get an asiago cheese bagel with cream cheese spread, under $2. and it was heavenly. we also got half a dozen of bagels for breakfast the next day - 3 chocolate chips and 3 plain, both of which are equally good. next time, i'll be more adventurous and try their different cream cheese spreads - honey walnut, sundried tomato, hazelnut.... i also tried the fandango salad (mixed greens, mandarin oranges, walnuts, gorgonzola, raspberry vinaigrette) but it wasn't too my liking. i don't know...maybe i didn't like the vinaigrette? 6 bucks for a salad. not bad considering it's a good portion and comes with your choice of french baguette, apple or chips. but maybe that salad wasn't for me. their sandwiches look good, too. i want to come back to try their tomato and mozzarella panini. for vegetarians, they also offer a mediterranean veggie sandwich, as well as vegetarian soups. i also want to try their egg souffles (veg: spinach and artichoke or four cheese) but i think they sell out pretty fast. but NEVER forget their CARAMEL PECAN BROWNIE. a slice of it for $2.49 but it's a ridiculously amazing brownie. moist, fudgey with a niiiice caramel top. i could get fat off those. read more

Would give it five stars, but they only have clam chowders on fridays. This place is amazing though! Come here on a friday order the half/half. Get the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, and buy clam chowder soup. Amazing combo, and i would take this meal over ANYTHING else you offer me. A must have. I still love: -Their loyalty program. In 6 months I've racked up enough free food to feed me for an entire day. -Their service. The majority of the time my order is served quick and correctly with very friendly service. Other times, my panini isn't pressed and I get broccoli cheddar soup instead of BBQ chicken salad. I still hate (even more so now as I write this review on my iPhone): -Their wi-fi SUCKS!!! So sometimes I really shouldn't be on Facebook when I'm supposed to be studying, but I really do need to stream my course lectures and it's impossible here. -Why knock me out after 30 min? They claim it's because it gets really busy between 11-2 but most don't use wi-fi when they only come here for lunch. I mean really , if the San Mateo Public library can provide me with uninterrupted Internet service, why can't you Panera????? There have been plenty of times when I am forced to go elsewhere because of this. -Their food. I've been on an all natural whole foods health kick after reading Pollan's Omnivores Dilemma 4 months ago. While they portray their food as the healthier fast food alternative, the majority is filled with preservatives and unnecessary emulsifiers. The only true all natural items sold here are : water, unflavored coffees and expresso drinks, kids organic yogurt, and the fruit cups. read more

This is one of my go-to places for lunch. I usually come here several times a week, and I have never waited in line for longer than a couple of minutes. They have three registers which are only not-in-use when there are no customers waiting. Otherwise, someone will drop what they're doing to take your order if they see you waiting. Kudos to their general manager, Chad, who manages a great, customer-oriented team. In terms of the actual food quality, I haven't tried many things on their menu. I can definitely say, however, that their tuna salad sandwich is one of the best I've ever had. Normally, I am very hesitant to eat tuna when I don't prepare it myself. Panera Bread is one of the few places that I trust to make a quality tuna sandwich. The tuna has perfect consistency. It is not too creamy, and not too chunky. Plus, it tastes fresh and does not have that strong tuna smell. It can get crowded at around 1-2PM. Seating can be difficult during lunch hours, and the Wi-Fi runs at less-than-optimal speeds. Prices are average, unless you add a drink and a pastry (why are you ordering soft drinks and pastries from a "healthy" food joint anyway?). Four stars for excellent service, great chain-food, and consistency. read more

Giving it one star for bad and rude service. Clerk ringing up was rude and not welcoming. Pastry counter was mislabeled and I needed to ask what each one was. She kept asking which one? Which one? Didn't get the chance to answer and would have bought more given the chance and really should have bought none. Finally gave up and said forget it. Stupid me I still bought the two that I actually got her to bag. We think she might have been part of management, too bad for the company.
