    Bagel Bagel, Egg, and Cheese

Very tasty bagels. I ordered my bagel to go so I didn't notice that they gave me a bagel egg and cheese instead of just a bagel and egg. Not the end of the world of course, but a surprise. I got the hazelnut coffee and while it felt very watery, it had great flavor. I also grabbed two bagels and some smear: LOVE the jalapeño smear. The cinnamon raisin bagel and strawberry bagel were both really good.

Excellent tasting bagels. I need to return and try the other flavors. There is plenty of seating inside. Fast friendly service and hot coffee is available.

I had bagel street cafe at work and it really delivered. First, the variety of bagels available was incredible: classics like everything, poppy, sesame while also throwing in one of my favorites: a salt bagel! It is very hard to find outstanding bagels in the bay, but Bagel St Cafe was very very good and memorable. They also have a variety of cream cheeses, we got: Blueberry, Lox Schmear, sun dried tomato and garlic, and garden veggie. I tried all of them and again, the flavors are great and they were not too sweet/grainy at all. I was happy with the organization of the to go order. I would highly recommend a visit. If this is to go, I bet a fresh bagel there would hit so hard!!

Asked to cut in half but didn't.

Stopped by Bagel Street Cafe and ordered a baker's dozen of bagels. For that quantity, I was expecting them to be packed in a box, but instead everything was stuffed into a thin brown paper bag, which felt careless and not great for keeping the bagels protected or fresh. I also specifically asked for the bagels to be cut in half, and the staff said they would do it. But when I got home, none of them were cut. It's a small request, but when it's acknowledged and then ignored, it's frustrating. The bagels themselves were fine, but the lack of attention to basic packaging and order accuracy really took away from the experience. For the price and reputation, I expected better execution.

    A variety of bagels!

Stopped by for bagels and was really impressed! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and you can definitely tell they put care into what they make. The staff was awesome! Friendly , welcoming, and provided great service from start to finish. If you're looking for fresh, delicious bagels and a great experience, this place is definitely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back!

I've walked by this Bagel shop probably 30 times and never stopped in since bagels hardly ever seem worth the calories, BUT when the bagel craving strikes it was the first shop that popped into my mind! First off, supporting local is always on my mind AND because this place is located in the best location ever. If you are ever running any errands - safeway, trader Joe's, walgreens, usps, Paris baguette, petfood express, starbucks..LITERALLY everything is in this plaza! It is sooo convenient to stop here with the kid in tow, grab a coffee/snack, and get your errands taken care of! This bagel shop is pretty nice - lots to see around the counter when making your selection. Service is fast, even during the morning rush. I ordered: 1. Blueberry Bagel with strawberry cream cheese - the shockingly red/pink strawberry cream cheese definitely make me hesitate because it looks sooo artificial (would definitely recommend they chill on the red food coloring if that's an option), but thankfully it didn't taste like it looks! 2. Cheddar Jalapeño Bagel with scallion cream cheese - this is so basic, yet SO good every time. I don't know why I ever stray from this order the. Both were toasted and perfect with a hot coffee for a winter morning breakfast! Definitely too much cream cheese in both, but I have no qualms giving the extra a good ole scrape-off!

I have been coming to Bagel Street in Millbrae for years and they are always quick and tasty. I love the selection of bagels and drink and the toppings or Sammie's you can order. My personal favorite too is a good bagel dog which they always deliver on! The shop is roomy to sit and enjoy and large to not feel crowded. Today's combo was Asiago, cream cheese, bacon and cucumbers! Chef's or should I say Creator's kiss!

Kiddo and her friends got a variety of bagels. Around downtown Millbrae, I would say this is pretty high schoolers friendly, besides boba shops of course. The Millbrae Special comes out to $13 with tax. You can choose your bagel and cream cheese. They could've been more generous with the lox but the whole thing was pretty tasty.

Located at the end of the plaza, next to Starbucks. Bagel Street Cafe is spacious inside with not only serving bagels but pastries as too. They had a decent selection even before closing time. I waited at the counter for a good 1-2 minutes before the worker acknowledged me. He must've been new cause he said someone else would be with me shortly. As far as bagels, I got a mixed variety and it there was a good assortment. Parking in plaza

I would go here religiously back in high school, they do not play with the amount of spread they put on their bagels. Throughout the years, the service definitely got a lot better and friendlier. Came in recently, and they were all so sweet, and I feel like they knew everyone who came in. I would even do some last minute studying here sometimes and I would still do work here. The vibe there is just perfect for either a grab and go or a sit and chat. My order: I've tried almost everything on their menu honestly, and they never missed. Do not skip on their refrigerators, they got spreads and more in there! Plain bagel with cream cheese - A true classic, sometimes you just gotta go plain. This goes for all their bagel orders, they will always be warm and toasty with a huge amount of whatever filling you ordered.

I can't really say anything about the atmosphere or service since I didn't physically visit this store. What I can say, though, is that Backhaus serves some stellar baked goods from everything I was able to try. Kouign Amann ($6) - This pastry has a nice tighter brioche-like crumb, clearly constructed without trying to be a croissant like so many other bakeries. There's an excellent thin sugar glaze melted on the bottom. It almost shatters like glass and is not too sweet. Sugar soaks into a pocket on the interior, creating a sweet, soft, almost pudding-like texture. (5/5) Almond Croissant ($7.75) - Really open lamination, airy and chewy. Cut in half and slathered with a dark brown colored almond frangipane. It's by far the darkest rendition I've seen and seems to have higher moisture content than most, so it soaks into the croissant, creating a soggy texture. It's also not strongly almond in flavor for some reason. The sliced almond on top powers the pastry far more than the filling. The croissant is good but definitely not my favorite. (4/5) Croissant Loaf ($22) - At first I thought this croissant loaf was really expensive, but I think it's well worth the price. Firstly, it's quite long. I didn't measure it, but I'd guess it's baked in one of the larger pullman loaf pans, probably at least 16 inches. The interior, while not having as large honeycomb air pockets as a normal croissant, still flake apart easily into layers. The loaf is compressed a bit from being baked in the pan, rather than having the freedom to openly rise. It's deliciously buttery inside, while the exterior is a dark golden brown that flakes apart. Unfortunately they bag the loaf up, so the exterior flakiness softens due to the moisture trapped in the plastic. It's still an excellent croissant loaf and it works wonderfully in sandwiches, as French Toast, and eaten just by itself. (5/5) I wish Backhaus had been open back when I lived in the Bay. I will definitely visit in person next time I fly down.

We chose the blueberry oatmeal scone, which was delicious, tasted almost like a cookie. Also got the raspberry coffee cake which was not my favorite as the raspberry was pretty strong and overshadowed the coffee cake. Finally got the breakfast sandwich which was my favorite item. To drink we all got cardamom lattes, hot. For some reason the drinks came out extremely hot, like I couldn't even pick up my mug without burning my fingers. After it cooled down for 10 minutes, it was really good but perhaps the baristas need to adjust their milk frothing temperature? The space is really cool, they have an upstairs section and if you sit by the window you get a nice view of the outside. They do not have outlets, so it's not designed to sit at all day and study.

At my seat (depicted) you get live behind the scenes of a kitchen. Me personally, I enjoy watching my food being cooked in front of me, so I enjoyed it. I originally went because of looking at the prices on an image on yelp. It was $16 for sausage, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. That's a great deal! But, once I got there inflation kicked it up to $18. Not the biggest difference to deter, but just letting everyone know the real price. I got pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and bacon (depicted). The eggs were good, pancakes were very good, hash browns were okay, and the reason for 4 star instead of a 5.... the bacon. The bacon wasn't crispy and cooked to order. It was chewy and I guess they cook it before and then heat it up on the griddle after. It is super noticeable from the taste, but especially from the texture. I would recommend this place to anyone, but just be aware with the vital advice I wrote.

My pork chop dinner included soup or salad, slice of toasted and buttered sourdough, potatoes or rice, vegetables and choice of dessert. All for just under $30 before tip. The meal was as expected for a '60s coffee shop. Salt is the dominant seasoning. The turkey and rice soup was a smart way to use leftover ingredients. The boiled red potatoes were good. The two thin pork chops were supposedly marinated, but I couldn't tell from tasting them. They were over cooked--dry, tough and needed some herbs. DH had the cheeseburger with potato salad and praised the meal. He also devoured my dessert--ice cream with chocolate sauce. Service was friendly and efficient, making me want to return. It's one of those cases of over-computerization that has completely mechanized the minds of those poor workers. They remain caught in an automated bagel web of paper receipts that has entirely replaced their basic human faculty of common sense. A line of 4 people took 15 minutes to get through. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel, untoasted with cream cheese on the side. One would expect the cashier woman to reach back onto the bagel shelf, toss me a bagel, a Solo plastic mini cup o' cream cheese, and bid me adieu. Five seconds at the most. Au contraire... She laboriously types the order into the computer, prints it out, hands it to another guy who tapes it above the back counter next to 3 other order slips. I wait. And wait. And wait. Meanwhile, they call another order. A girl - one of the 4 people now waiting - walks up but doesn't have her yellow paper. "I need the Yellow Paper!" shrieks the totalitarian puppet. It's obviously no one else's order. The girl gives an exasperated sigh, digs obediently in the trash circle cut into the counter top like one of those eskimo fishing holes, and finds her paper. She hands it to the woman, who rewards her with a frightening plastic smile. During many more minutes of the same, I clutch my yellow paper ready to thrust it at the woman and make it to my gate on time. When my order is called, I grab the white paper bag and run. Mid-run, I find they've sliced the bagel and slathered 2 inches of cream cheese in the middle, which I will later wipe down to an acceptable thickness. Computers have streamlined local and global systems in amazing ways, but I think the good people at Noah's should realize that some processes are better managed the old-fashioned way. They do a disservice to both their customers and their employees when they don't trust their workers to think for themselves. Noah's isn't the only offender, but they happened to catch me at a particularly disgruntled moment.
