Only thing was the ends were a little too burnt, but it wasn't inedible - gave that nice char taste. ~Italian Grinder (5/5): Typical italian sandwich, but the bread was so good. The roasted peppers added a nice kick, and the sauce was yummy. ~Fries (5/5): love battered fries! And they were seasoned really well ~Catfish and grits (4/5): the grits were wonderful consistency. We stopped by mid-bike ride for a meal and were grateful for their exceptionally kind and patient service and hospitality. Bathrooms available and ample places to park since it is a part of a shopping center. The staff gave me an overview of the different types of BBQ: NC is more vinegar based, Red is Virginia's take with a tomato base, and Just BBQ is your classic sweet BBQ sauce. I of course had to go with the Red since we were visiting Virginia for the first time! I'm so glad I did. The food came out exceptionally fast and everything was fresh and hot! I seriously can't express how good the BBQ was. It was juicy, flavorful, and everything you'd want from BBQ. I'll be searching for a sauce like that for years to come since I'm not local! The potato salad was also excellent and the mac n cheese, despite being a bit mushy, had a good flavor. I absolutely loved the corn muffins - no notes! The best part of our visit was getting to chat with the locals who approached us asking about our bike ride. They were all very friendly and made me feel as if I was a local myself. I know everything is expensive right now and places are doing their best but $2.50 per side when being given that amount seemed a little off. The Mac and cheese was good, very creamy and cheesy. The fries were hot and crispy. Could have used some extra seasoning. The hot dog was good. I added extra BBQ sauce but the bbq on the dog (NC style) was nice with a good vinegary bite.
