So excited to have a Panera close by. So far, we have been really impressed with the service and quality of food.

The owner, who…read moreappears to be the only employee, is consistently rude, hostile, and aggressive toward customers. He strongly pushes online ordering (there's even a sign saying it's preferred), yet the third-party ordering website frequently freezes or fails to accept orders. In the past, I've been yelled at for trying to order in person and told it would take 45 minutes. This time, I ordered online as instructed and arrived at the pickup time, only to be ignored for about 10 minutes despite standing right in front of him. When he finally acknowledged me, he couldn't find part of the order, then angrily threw the food on the counter and demanded payment--even though I had already paid online. He refused to accept an email receipt and said he doesn't give receipts at all. So I paid twice. On top of that, the online prices were nearly double the in-store prices, with no clear explanation when I inquired. Great food does not excuse terrible customer service. The experience is stressful, unpleasant, and unprofessional.

We came right after they opened and were the only customers in the store, which made for a quiet and calm experience. It definitely seems like this location is more geared toward catering and holiday business (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas), and during the off-season they've added a few tables so people can dine in. Since it was our first visit and we had a baby with us, we took our time looking over the menu. Unfortunately, the woman at the counter seemed very rushed, which felt a bit unnecessary considering there was no line and no one else waiting. The store itself was extremely clean, which I really appreciated. They didn't have many drink options, but the sweet tea was fresh and very good since we arrived right after opening. As for the food, the mac & cheese was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal. The sandwiches, however, were underwhelming. They honestly were Hawaiian rolls with ham and cheese, something I could easily make at home. We paid about $33 for two meals and two drink, which felt very overpriced for what we received. I understand pricing may be higher outside of the holiday season to offset slower business, but it still seemed steep. They do offer a nice selection of take-home items like pies, sauces, breads, cookies, and meals you can heat up later. I grabbed a snickerdoodle to go, and even the next day it was thick, fresh, and really delicious. One last thing worth noting: because of the cold weather and people coming in and out, the temperature inside was uneven. The front of the store was chilly, but toward the back near the bathrooms it felt almost like a sauna. Overall, this isn't necessarily a place I would come to regularly just to grab something to eat, but for a large family meal or a holiday gathering, I would definitely come back.

I had the braised beef short ribs, which were melt-in-your -mouth. Paired with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted root veg, and some of the best collard greens I've ever had. He had the fried chicken with hot honey, garlic mashed potatoes, and more collard greens. That fried chicken was so crispy and delicious. Had the peach cobbler bread pudding for dessert, and it was an EXPERIENCE. The only thing that would have made the meal better was some of the slab bacon, but we'll know to come for breakfast or lunch for that next time!

Farm and Oak has been on my list and I finally made it!…read more My husband and I wanted to have lunch out and picked Farm and Oak because we haven't visited this restaurant. They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.
