We used to come here somewhat regularly. The food was tasty and prices reasonable. A respectable four stars. Two recent visits were absolutely dreadful. The portions were drastically reduced and the prices were ridiculous for the quality and quantity of what was provided. I get the troubles caused by Covid and inflation. Everything is more expensive but most restaurants are able to maintain quality and provide some intrinsic value. This was not the case here. Expensive and underwhelming at best. Went in to order a to-go muffin while waiting for someone outside. I saw there was a nice pumpkin muffin that was marked just 1.79. When ringing it up, the C/S rep said it 'twas 2.79. I said "No, I think you must be wrong- it says 1.79 on the sign in front of it". She advised that the muffin was ringing up for "just a muffin top" (reminding me hauntingly of the Jerry Seinfeld episode) and wondered how this could be possible- what the ____ do they do with the "stumps"? Anyway, I said if it says 1.79 then I would like them to offer it to me for that price! Incidentally, Muheisen's Bakery charges just $1.95 for their muffins and they are HUGE and wonderful compared to the Panera muffins. I called the manager over and she reiterated that she could not give me this wimpy muffin for the price reflected on the listed signage. I am intending to not come in there anymore. We have also had a similar experience at the Easton Panera location, but they were smart enough to give us the item (in that case it was bread loaf) at the marked price. So, form your own judgment. I would like to shout out praise for a few employees who always make your dining experience a delightful one. Raven, is consistently warm, hardworking and so professional. Mary is a sheer delight to deal with. She is so very warm, pleasant, knowledgeable and goes out if her way to make your visit a 5 star one. The Manager Maria, is so very organized, efficient, and has a wonderful personality attached to all of these great attributes. She runs this location like a well oiled machine. Tom and Alba are two of the cooks I have had the pleasure to deal with. They are both cooking wizards who work very hard and will always provide you with great fresh delicious food made to order the way you like it!!! This is probably my favorite steakhouse in town. If your going to splurge this is the place to do it. The service prompt but gruff, the kid in the back yelled at me while throwing a handful of ice. Our waiter, J was not able to give us some guidance and wasn't helpful at all. The kid with the beard gave me a nasty look and would yell a lot, almost like a bobcat. Go in every few weeks and everything is always fresh, and the place is spotless - not something that can be said of every Panera store. The most impressive thing about this Panera, though, is the service. As I said we only go in once every few weeks, usually on a Sunday. After my rotator cuff surgery, I went in with a shoulder sling and as she was taking our order, Imane asked me what happened. We went in a few weeks later, still wearing the sling, and she asked if I was feeling any better from last time. Not too impressive when you think about it - how many guys wearing slings on their left shoulder has she waited on, after all? I am now out of the sling, but still EVERY time I go in and Imane waits on us, she remembers that I'm the guy who had shoulder surgery and asks how I am doing. She also remembers that we split a souffle so we need two forks. It's not like we go in every day - seriously it's maybe once every 2-3 weeks. Just awful!! Overpriced and not much food at all. My sandwich had a piece of cheese and almost a piece of ham. The "bowl" of soup was really a cup of soup in a bowl. The place advertises eating clean and this place was disgusting. Every table was dirty, the dish area (directly by the soda station was a mess) and the carpets were littered with trash/ food/ etc. I try to be aware of waste and plastic so I traditionally do not use straws and plastic utensils, but I was grateful to have them provided here. Great deal on Tuesdays, "Baker's Dozen" of bagels for around $7, but order and P/U early, they fly out the door. I'm also a fan of their coffee and that $9 coffee cake that they sell. We have tried this location many times as it's the closest one to us, however they always disappoint. The bakery items are always rock hard no matter what time of day you go.
