This place is the bomb diggity. Clean and inviting. Interesting combinations. Fresh, healthy proteins including vegetarian options. Paloma and Kim were so welcoming and helpful. You rarely see employees who provide this level of customer service, especially at a place with counter service only. Take out is efficient and quick. There are tables inside and two outside. Brownies with homemade peanut butter whipped cream were sold out, but looked delicious. House-made iced tea, lemonade or chai or bottled drinks rounded out the beverage options. We really enjoyed our salads with chicken breast tossed in their dressings.

Having frequented the Alfalfa location in Hoboken, I was excited to try the Princeton store to grab a refreshing salad on a summer day. The interior is nicely decorated with a giant splash of salmon pink and they had several areas to sit, tables, benches, etc. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or a light dinner if you're trying to keep things healthy. There's a kiosk near the entrance where you can place your order, otherwise you can also go up to the counter and order with the staff. I opted for the Laguna salad which came with a very generous mix of the protein and avocado combined with their fresh alfalfa mix (kale, romaine, butter lettuce) and other veggies. You can tell they use very fresh ingredients and don't skimp on the portions. I felt very full and satisfied after eating my salad! One of the staff members was very friendly and helpful. Kept asking customers how everything is going, would get them water cups, was making sure tables and the entrance door were cleaned (dude deserves a raise!) Overall, highly recommend if you're in Princeton and want something refreshing where the salad actually tastes amazing!

There are tables and an area where you can find seating. I asked if I could share a table.

On a beautiful, warm spring day, after touring the Princeton campus to check out the sakura blooms, I wanted to grab a vegetarian quick bite, but I wanted something healthy. Thankfully, I spied Alfalfa, a great place to grab a healthy salad bowl. I ordered their seasonal special, which was their Forbidden Salmon Market Plate. I was a bit disappointed with their serving size and felt the salmon was a bit overdone. I could deal with the bowl being smaller than their regular salad menu, but paying an extra $6 for a smaller bowl stung a little. Their service was excellent, though, so I just chalked it up to being a very busy time. I've eaten here before and can attest, their food is very good. Sometimes, we just have a miss. I recommend coming during off-hours because the lunch crowd can be overwhelming, and seats will be hard to come by. Street metered parking can be a bit challenging, but there are parking garages.

I literally cannot say enough good things about Alfalfa! They have officially overtaken Chopt as my favorite salad spot. Fresh, delicious, wholesome, hearty, creative salads, wraps & sandwiches? Check! Ability to get dressing mixed in & on the side, in three different sizes as well as unique homemade varieties? Check! Freshly squeezed flavorful juice concoctions? Check! Last but definitely not least, the best confetti flavored frosted donut with sprinkles Ive ever devoured in my life? Check, check and check again! I got my absolute fave which I always get -- Alfalfa wrap which is a mix of delicious greens, apple slices, candied walnuts, goat cheese & honey yogurt dressing mixed in with extra on the side for yummy dipping. Five stars! If youre looking for a healthy, vibrant, delicious salad place, look no further than Alfalfa!

I've been looking for sweetgreen ish salad places in Princeton and alfalfa is such a nice upgrade. Came here for a lunch during the week and it has a cute and clean interior. I got a salad and it was massive! Highly recommend the sesame dressing and the green goddess dressing. The service was very fast and friendly. I heard their breakfast burritos are also very good and I'd def come back to try more

Alfafa, you've outdone yourself. Just, WOW. They always do a great job on creating an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel so relaxed and right at home. Do yourself a favor and get the Poblano Canyon Chicken Plate. The chicken is cooked to perfection and keeping the skin on gives it extra flavor and a perfect crisp, truly feels like a home cooked meal. The cilantro rice is delicious and beautiful. The corn has a great kick, beans are amazing and the kale is salad adds such a fresh taste. It's a very generous portion of food and VERY toddler friendly. Drinks: The iced matcha latte is truly noteworthy. It's not too sweet where you dont taste the matcha yet still so creamy and delicious. I crave it on the daily. This was the first time we tried the fresh pressed ginger turmeric lemonade, we were very pleasantly surprised. It's very refreshing and it is honestly delicious . Desserts: you gotta try the chocolate brownie with peanut butter whipped cream, it's amazing. What's not pictured is the apple cider donut that we inhaled which has now ruined all donuts for us. Both were gluten free which you could never ever tell. Thanks Alfafa for a great time, you have a great staff and incredible food.

Cute new aesthetic spot in princeton. I tried the peruvian chicken salad and far east salad. Both were good portion sizes and tasted really good and fresh. We also tried the lemon thyme donut. I couldnt really taste any thyme but it was still good. They have some other things on their menu that look pretty good so will definitely come back to try

This is perfect for lunch! Healthy and filling, I got extra sauce on the side for my wrap and it was the best decision. Definitely going back again.

The shop is a small and very welcoming place and the smell is just amazing because they make all the doughnuts in house. Will need to go back for their breakfast and lunch menu items. Customer service was also excellent and you can tell it's a family owned business and the menu changes often as they offer different flavors. When I picked up the order in the morning it was warm and fresh as all the doughnuts were coming out fresh. Our favorites were the French Cruller, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cannoli, and the Boston Cream. It is a small shop and a little shopping center so you may have some difficulty with parking. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very busy. I was greeted immediately and each of the available doughnuts are on display in the front case. The consistency was more bread like so it wouldn't necessarily qualify as a yeast or a cake doughnut. I took a bite of each and that was the end. If you are a true donut fan, you may be disappointed like I was.

From there, I gave them a follow on social media and checked out their website. Sadly, the bakery is about an hour from where I live, but it's about 15-20 minutes from where I work. However, they usually close at 3 pm, which means I would be scrambling in right before they close or I may not make it at all. Bummer! Needless to say, I saw they do dessert orders for the holidays, so that was my golden opportunity! For Thanksgiving, I ordered a purple sweet potato pie and a banana pudding pie. I got to select the date that I'd be picking up my pies, which was on a day that I had to go to the office. During the week leading up to Thanksgiving, the bakery was closed for regular operations. They were only open for dessert pick ups. The pies were a hit! The banana pudding pie was everyone's favorite. Needless to say, for Christmas, a larger order was placed for banana pudding pie, salted honey pie, apple crumb pie, and mashed potato rolls. Now for Christmas, the bakery was open for regular operations and you had to pick up your pre-ordered desserts at their sister business, Melba Ice Creamery, around the corner. Because it was Christmas Eve and I already had a slew of sweets pre-ordered, I decided not to try to go to the bakery that day. Nevertheless, the goods were a hit again! The only downside is that the crust on the banana pudding pie was a little different the second time around, making it tougher to slice and get out of the pan. It was still tasty though! Would I return? Absolutely!
