Met up with a friend for lunch. I've been to Lidia's several times but she never has but she loved it! It's such an easy-going place. I love how casual it is. You can sit and chat enjoy your meal. Our server Wendy checked in and ensure me we had what we wanted. I grabbed a Mediterranean wrap that I loved because they used romaine lettuce and the chicken was seasoned so well. The feta cheese and dressing were perfect. My friend for the California turkey wrap w/avocado. She said it was filling and she felt like she made a healthy choice. read more

When we pulled into Lidia's parking lot for brunch this past Sunday, I realized that this is the old Polo Sports bar before it moved to its new location. The inside hasn't changed much, but I like the ambience of this breakfast/lunch spot. My wife and I both went for pancakes, mine blueberry, hers banana. Pancakes were delicious! Plenty of seating here and a large parking lot. Good spot if you're in the area looking for breakfast or lunch. read more

Food was okay, it lacked flavor and freshness. The portions were pretty decent for the price. read more

Three and a half stars, really. Went for Tuesday lunch, lured in by the menu entry of an open face turkey sandwich, which I have been craving recently. Adjacent parking lot with enough spaces. Airy open dining area with maybe a dozen tables. I was greeted warmly by a friendly waitress who served me a really strong cup of hot coffee, perfect on this cold day. Ordered a cup of lobster bisque, which was served hot with a package of oyster crackers and another package of saltines. Also ordered that hot open face turkey sandwich. The waitress asked me if I wanted the soup first, or both together, a very thoughtful gesture (I dislike when two courses are served together). Bisque was delicious. Really good. I mean really good, flavorful and soothing and comforting. Then the entree was served, an immense plate with that sandwich and a big pile of mashed potatoes. Sadly, that sandwich wasn't nearly as good as the bisque: quite salty, it wasn't real turkey, but more of a deli turkey. The gravy was good, and I was served plenty of it, but that turkey was quite salty, spoiling the dish. And the vegetables were tasteless things; I had two pieces of carrots, and ignored the rest. Nice ambience, friendly staff, strong coffee and a delicious bisque saved the day. I was left satisfied, yet disappointed. Too bad. read more

Stopped in for lunch with one of my kids. Been here for breakfast a few times, always good. I got the chicken salad with lettuce and tomato, it comes with chips. For some reason the menu said it came with lettuce and tomato, but they charged me $.25 for each piece. Sandwich went from $8.50 to $9. Still pretty reasonable for the area. Was pretty busy when we arrived, but we got seated fast. Staff was very friendly and checked on us to see how we were. read more

We fully support the high star rating for Lydia's Great diner in the middle of no where NJ. Justv a few minutes off the interstate but worth the detour. Large selection of lunch and breakfast items and a full bar. If you're ever passing by Netcong NJ you should stop in and have a bite. read more

Decided to celebrate my mother's 73rd birthday by treating her to breakfast as her first activity of the day. Lidia's is a Breakfast and Lunch only restaurant. This used to be the old Polo's location. The inside was kept intact and is clean and organized. The bar area looked nice with the small pastry case. I'm only going to give my opinion on the Breakfast to be fair since we had breakfast. The menu is a typical Breakfast menu. It is a very affordable menu. It's a very quiet place which is perfect for us because we are hearing impaired. The waitress is an all in one...she is the hostess, waitress, & bus girl. She was very nice and welcoming. The guy there wasn't too personable he even turfed me off to the waitress when I asked him a question. Food tasted well, there were some hiccups here and there but my husband and I work in the restaurant business so we fixed it ourselves lol. I didn't really take a picture of our food because it's regular typical breakfast plates. They are good portions I must say!!! So with all that said... Definitely recommend to pop on by to give it a try. Especially if you want a low key satisfying meal with a pleasant environment. read more

Unfortunately, we will not be returning to Lidias as the service was our favorite part of dining here. We would travel from Somerville to be served by Angie. She was so warm and welcoming and we will miss her read more

Great Food! Great Service! Prices from the 90's! What more could you ask for?! I don't write reviews unless the place is really bad or really good and this place is really good for what it is. read more

Went there Sunday after not being there for a few months. Very dissatisfied - mostly with the waitress - had to ask twice for silverware, no salt on the table, no creamer served with the coffee, and long wait for the check. Asked if we should pay at the table and was told - if paying with cash, just leave it on the table table- well what if I needed change? She was very gruff, did not great us, just seemed annoyed at having to serve us. won't be going back. read more

Great tasting breakfast at reasonable prices. They even made a lunch item early. Would recommend.

Great food in a small, casual and welcoming restaurant. Very reasonably priced and attentive servers.

I have been several times. From the first time to my last breakfast with a friend has always been served in a timely manner with the same attention to detail on each order. A clean friendly low key spot to enjoy on your own or with all your family and friends. Recommend for locals and travelers through the area. read more

Seated at 10:20, @10:52 still no one has come to our table, only 2 waitresses for a busy dining room, I get a busboy and ask him if there is a waitress available, he says maybe 2 minutes maybe longer. I'm ready to leave at this point, but my husband wants to wait. Finally we get to order, the food came out quickly and was good and very reasonable priced. Waitress never came back to check on us or see if we needed anything else or maybe another cup of coffee. I had to ask for the check. I'm not impressed at all read more

Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Waitresses and staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast and lunch tasty along with coffee.

I am giving this 3 stars for a few reasons, but mainly because I am so confused with the 5 star rating they have currently. My expectations were set so high... The food was edible. The service was okay. And the pricing was cheap. But please don't expect anything more than a very standard diner. There is nothing homemade here, no unique dishes. read more

We love Lydia's! We have been there several times and tried many things on the menu and everything has been delicious, fresh and hot (except for the things we ordered that were supposed to be cold! :) ). I love their breakfast, their potatoes are delicious, and they always get the bacon right. I have also had their tuna melt, BLT, and a couple of wraps, as well as soup. My husband loves it too! We were so glad to find this place, especially me - as I am the only one in my house that loves breakfast - so they can get a good lunch and I can get a good breakfast. The prices are also really reasonable, the family that owns it is so nice, and the wait staff have all been nice and efficient! Our new favorite place. read more

This place is amazing! We recently moved to the area and pick up food here frequently. Great prices and always incredible. Highly recommend!

Nice brunch spot in town with great portion sizes and variety!! Service was very good and a very kid friendly atmosphere.

We're really glad to have found this new breakfast (and lunch) place. One sip of the coffee, hot and flavorful, and I knew we were on to something. The friendly waitress impressed us by remembering our order 100% correctly, even though it was 2 build-your-own omelets. The food was fresh and delicious. Maybe best of all, the hash browns were crispy and hot. We will definitely be back! read more

Even though it was super busy today (Sunday, December 15, 2024), the service was great. The food was very good. I noticed my fries were barely lukewarm and the server had a big batch of piping hot fries to our table in no time and they were delicious. The restaurant is very cozy, clean and attractive. We will be back again for sure! read more
