2 Buttermilk Pancakes, 2 Eggs with Breakfast Meat and hasbrowns

This has become one of my favorite brunch places. Great staff, great food ( esp the bacon- usually only eat it here ), and always delicious. I try to only go on weekdays since it's not as crazy busy but sometimes a short wait most of the time. They do not take reservations but plenty of street parking and parking in the lot across the street.

Food was okay, but the service was pretty awful. The young man who took our drink order was very pleasant and nice, but our waitress seemed like a miserable human, not sure if she was having a bad day but based on other low reviews it looks to be a common issue... Food was fine, not life changing brunch food by any means.

Casual, small place with 12 tables and two counter seats. Staff is very friendly and aren't trying to rush you out. Food was delicious! Their pumpkin pancakes on their specials is a must try! You also can pick the number of pancakes you want which I found awesome since sometimes you're really hungry and sometimes you just want one. Their cheesesteak omelet is also very good, cheese was melted just right!

This is a small spot but I do recommend you stop by and try . The breakfast was good with nice portions . The bread is homemade and we bought a loaf to go . The gravy was delicious just wish they gave little more . The grits needed some salt/pepper and I also wished they served with butter . The omelette was delicious and the home fries had amazing crunch and flavor . Coffee is served and refills are asked while eating which is nice . The staff were nice and had no issues overall. I'd return for sure . Thank you for a good experience .

Came here Saturday early afternoon. A friend suggested this spot and after checking this spot via Yelp, I was looking forward to eat here. There was a wait which took about 30 minutes before being seated. The place is not huge but comfortable seatings. Ended up getting the traditional egg and meat breakfast special (2 eggs, seasoned home fries, homemade toast and bacon) with coffee. The whole meal was solid. Server always filled up my coffee cup. If you're in the mood for breakfast, I highly recommend this place. I will be back. * great service * street parking and parking lot * plastic straws available

My wife picked up some breakfast sandwiches this morning for us and I am very happy to find a place like this. Hearty amount of pork roll, egg, and cheese and an amazing chipotle spread to go along with it. Bread is fresh cooked which is noticeably an emphasis with the sandwich. She told me there is some seating there so I will definitely check it out in person soon!

Here's the deal: this is a great little breakfast place off off Main Street. Food was good. Service was very friendly . Peak times this place gets very crowded with minimal space to wait for a table Overall good ol fashion cafe

This has become our new go to breakfast spot! The place is on the small side so there's always a line on the weekends later in the morning but it's worth it! They have good sized portions and huge French toast! My favorite part is they offer a variety of homemade breads for toast and they have a weekly featured bread with different flavors. You can also get chorizo as your choice of breakfast meat. These non traditional offerings sets it apart from other breakfast spots and will keep us going back!

Homey, family run breakfast lunch spot. The smell of fresh bread and muffins wafted from the kitchen. Maybe the best pancakes I've ever had.

Denville Seafood / Codmother's Cafe on Broadway in downtown Denville stands out for all the right reasons -- with incredibly fresh and tasty locally-sourced fish, a welcoming midscale atmosphere, and staff that actually cares about the customers and food they're serving. Denville Seafood / Codmother's Cafe operates as a seafood market and restaurant. The market offers a variety of fresh seafood all of which is locally-sourced from the New Fulton Fish Market in NYC as well as seafood-based soups and salads prepared on-site to enjoy elsewhere. The other side of the shop offers a sit-down restaurant where the chef can prepare anything sold in the market in a variety of ways for diners to enjoy in the indoor or outdoor dining areas or to go. The menu is extensive and any of the fresh fish -- from bass to tuna -- or shellfish sold in the market are available in the restaurant in a wide variety of preparation styles -- baked, broiled, and fried with white wine-butter sauce, rosemary, lemon-caper, scampi, or teriyaki sauces. Dinner platters (which range from $28 to $45 as of December 2025) include coleslaw, steamed vegetables, and your choice of fries, rice, potatoes, pasta, or extra steamed vegetables. Your imagination is the only thing limiting the number of iterations available. For diners who don't enjoy seafood, Codmother's Cafe offers linguine with or without broccoli, chicken tenders, and the New Jersey-staple Chicken Parmigiana. The atmosphere in the dining room hits that perfect "midscale" sweet spot where it feels special enough for a nice night out, but still relaxed and welcoming for a casual meal with friends and family. The high-energy servers are clearly on top of their game and make the whole experience fun. We'll definitely be back. PRO TIP #1: Be flexible with your order. With all of the seafood sourced daily based on what's available at the New Fulton Fish Market and sold in both the market and restaurant, there's a real risk they might run out of something on the menu so make sure you have a back-up in case your initial craving is 86-ed for the day when you order. PRO TIP #2: Free street parking is available on Broadway and 1st Avenue as well as in the Denville municipal parking lots located on 1st Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue.

Part of the restaraunt is a fish counter where you can buy uncooked fish and the other part is a restaraunt. We split the Manhattan clam chowder and the sword fish special. I'm not a clam chowder person but my husband is and he likes it, warning it has bacon in it. The sword fish was excellent, huge big piece of succulent fish cooked to perfection on a bed of mixed root vegetables. The sauce was light and bright and a perfect pairing. The coleslaw was crispy and fresh and not too much mayo. Wait service was excellent and super friendly. Would definitely come back.
