    Taylor ham, egg, and cheese!
    Pat M.

I stopped in for lunch and liked the place, but I definitely need to come back when it's not the crazy noon hour. The Pro's Since it was my first time here, I went for the traditional Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a roll. The sandwich and coffee were very good. The staff was very friendly. The Con's Parking was tough. Had to circle through parking lot twice and luckily someone was pulling out. The tables were full, was lucky to find a place to sit. Unfortunately, table was not wiped off so I needed to do it myself. I'll stop by again at an off peak time. The sandwich menu looks good and after seeing many positive Yelp reviews, I need to try again.

This was where I elected to spend my one hour break, on my way to umpire the second of two baseball games in Denville, on a recent Saturday afternoon. The accompanying picture is an unedited photograph of my "Tough Guy" sandwich. As you will see, the only thing "special" about this $9.00 sandwich ... is the name.

I ordered a buffalo chicken salad. when I saw my salad, i didn't know what to think. I've seen buffalo chicken salad from other restaurants but it never looked like this. It looked underwhelming at first glance because it wasn't oozing with the red and white sauces I've seen. Now, to someone counting calories and is more health conscious this buffalo chicken salad would be perfect. I will admit once i began eating, it wasn't as bad as it looked. I'd rate it a 3 out of 5. I thought the use of celery in the salad was clever and ties into the whole buffalo chicken theme. However, I could have done without it in my salad. I would patronize this business again. I would more than likely try something different.

    A roll w some meat

Always wanted to stop here and try a Taylor Ham & Cheese on a roll. There's just something to be said about short order grills. This was a very disappointing display of a roll with a few tiny pieces of meat. Not even enough to cover the bread. Girls who work there are very nice and get 5 stars for early morning attitude but, Wont be back for a sandwich especially when S&M puts 3x's the

My fiancé and I decided to have a Sunday morning coffee date and check it out. The shop is nothing short of fun, I feel like I could find something new every day while browsing the selections. The vinyl collection is great and there's plenty to choose from. Big shoutout for the shop having a soundtrack section, that's the first thing I always look for when I'm browsing records. I managed to find a record and a cool poster before I even browsed the cafe menu. The barista was super chill and recommended some of their popular items to try for our first visit. We both opted for tiramisu iced lattes and we were not disappointed. The coffee base was excellent, and the flavoring was very balanced. My fiancé also got a lil' treat, courtesy of me, a mochaccino muffin, which got the thumbs up of approval. We both agreed that the space is cool and exactly the kind of spot we'd prefer to hang out in. Sweet Vinyl will definitely be in our coffee outing rotation going forward.

I was really impressed with how much time the cashier took polishing the record and wrapping it before he sold it to her. Very fun, artsy spot.

Denville Seafood / Codmother's Cafe on Broadway in downtown Denville stands out for all the right reasons -- with incredibly fresh and tasty locally-sourced fish, a welcoming midscale atmosphere, and staff that actually cares about the customers and food they're serving. Denville Seafood / Codmother's Cafe operates as a seafood market and restaurant. The market offers a variety of fresh seafood all of which is locally-sourced from the New Fulton Fish Market in NYC as well as seafood-based soups and salads prepared on-site to enjoy elsewhere. The other side of the shop offers a sit-down restaurant where the chef can prepare anything sold in the market in a variety of ways for diners to enjoy in the indoor or outdoor dining areas or to go. The menu is extensive and any of the fresh fish -- from bass to tuna -- or shellfish sold in the market are available in the restaurant in a wide variety of preparation styles -- baked, broiled, and fried with white wine-butter sauce, rosemary, lemon-caper, scampi, or teriyaki sauces. Dinner platters (which range from $28 to $45 as of December 2025) include coleslaw, steamed vegetables, and your choice of fries, rice, potatoes, pasta, or extra steamed vegetables. Your imagination is the only thing limiting the number of iterations available. For diners who don't enjoy seafood, Codmother's Cafe offers linguine with or without broccoli, chicken tenders, and the New Jersey-staple Chicken Parmigiana. The atmosphere in the dining room hits that perfect "midscale" sweet spot where it feels special enough for a nice night out, but still relaxed and welcoming for a casual meal with friends and family. The high-energy servers are clearly on top of their game and make the whole experience fun. We'll definitely be back. PRO TIP #1: Be flexible with your order. With all of the seafood sourced daily based on what's available at the New Fulton Fish Market and sold in both the market and restaurant, there's a real risk they might run out of something on the menu so make sure you have a back-up in case your initial craving is 86-ed for the day when you order. PRO TIP #2: Free street parking is available on Broadway and 1st Avenue as well as in the Denville municipal parking lots located on 1st Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue.
