My initial thought was "Why is a regular grilled cheese sandwich $5.95?" But I got one anyway and found that each order actually seems to be 2 sandwiches, so the price isn't bad for two sandwiches and a bag of chips. We got the regular grilled cheese and the al fresco. Both sandwiches were served on white bread. For the regular, I got the American, Cheddar, and Pepper Jack cheeses. The cheeses didn't really melt into a homogeneous mixture as you can see in my photo. The Al Fresco had provolone, mozzarella, and roasted peppers. I found it a little bit bland, since roasted bell peppers aren't spicy and neither of those cheeses are particularly sharp. Neither sandwich was particularly well buttered. It was good and the price was OK, but I really can't think of a good reason to give a place that sells grilled cheese sandwiches that can easily be made better at home more than 3 stars read more

The first time I heard about the Grilled Cheese Factory was in a living social deal. But the ideal seemed novel and I decided it was at least worth buying a deal. The first thing you notice is that it's a small place, it could make seat 15-20 max. Then the menu is pretty simple but has some interesting things on in none the less. The staff was super nice but it's a small operation. As for the food, the sandwiches are large so they are pretty filling, I got the pull pork sandwich and it was pretty amazing. Had been looking forward to this place. I am an old school diner grilled cheese on wheat with fries and gravy with either a chocolate milk or a shake. Sadly, they only offer a stand up cooler with bottled drinks and bags of chips or doritos. No Fries, No shakes, not even fountain drinks. It is great for the late night folks in Morristown after drinking all night, as they are open until 3am on the weekends, but for a lunch, with the classics, like fries or onion rings, don't bother. Was assaulted by a stranger (police report and all) outside of their restaurant on the porch. The night of the assault I was told they will get in touch to give me the security footage for a case. I called the following day and a rude man working in the kitchen answered and said no. When I asked to speak to their owner they said they didn't even know him. This is a little place with five regular tables and a couple of high shelves with barstools, it's tucked into the lower half of an old house on busy Morris Ave. The staff was kinda like, oh hey, we have customers, uh, ok. They were playing Q104.3 kinda loud that evening. Anyhow we tried the classic, the BCT (bacon cheddar tomato), the BBQ (pulled pork with cheese) and the Ruben. All were tasty but I have to say that all needed a bit longer in the griller to get properly crusty and gooey. Everything came with pickle slices and a choice of crunchies (chips, fritos, doritos). Liked the whole-grain bread a lot. Two sandwiches were served with a side of house dressing, which was all new to me. I prefer a side of ketchup with a grilled cheese but of course my family thinks I'm nuts to eat 'em that way. Sandwiches are $6 to $8; they are average size so while they're not expensive they're not cheap either. A big guy could prolly eat two without much effort, certainly two classics but maybe not two Rubens.
