I opted for the online order and it was ready just when it was promised. The entire order was packaged perfectly, and there were no issues when I opened it I ordered the steak quesadilla with onions and it was very good. It had a slight kick, but as someone who doesn't tolerate spiciness very well, it was just enough for me. I didn't know what to expect from the brussels sprouts but they were sweet and not spicy at all. A great side entree! Overall, a great visit to Tacoria. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back!"

Over the last several years, Morristown has seen an influx of several new casual and not-so-casual…read moreMexican and TexMex restaurants.. seemingly replacing the numerous frozen yogurt outlets that were the subject of an earlier culinary trend. Tacoria, which was one of the earliest participants in this recent trend, offers tasty, made-to-order TexMex cuisine in a trendy, fast-casual cafeteria-style ambiance. The cozy dining area, which is open to South Street when the weather is cooperative, only offers about a dozen tables for two or four diners, so it may be difficult to get seating during peak times. On several visits, we've had to stand around awkwardly holding our food while waiting for other diners to finish their meals and relinquish their table for us. After placing your order at the counter from the menu that allows you to build-your-own burritos, bowls, street tacos, salads, or nachos -- all of which is cooked to order -- grab a seat at one of the tables in the dining area and wait for your pager to buzz and let you know your meal is ready to be picked up. The service is very good with counterstaff that's very knowledgeable about the menu and terrific at making whatever accommodations a diner may require (vegetarian, lactose free, etc.). I'm a fan of the Burrito - Al Pastor ($12.50), comprised of ground marinated pork served with black beans, seasoned rice, and salsa in a grilled flour tortilla.. but I was surprised that my entree did not come with even a small portion of complimentary tortilla chips. My dining companion enjoyed her salad topped with marinated grilled chicken ($11), sliced avocado, black beans, pico de gallo, and cheese on a bed of romaine lettuce and topped with a pineapple lime dressing. There's a handful of complimentary homemade hot sauces - which range from mild verde to spicy habenero -- as well as several varieties of Cholula and Tabasco available (and small 'to go' containers if you're planning to dine elsewhere) if you want to kick things up a notch - and a Coca-Cola fountain machine offering unlimited refills of the basic Coca-Cola options (Coke, Diet Coke, etc.) if you've overdone it with the complimentary hot sauces. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Tacoria doesn't have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street parking on South Street. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. If you can't find a spot on the street, the Morristown Parking Authority DeHart Street garage (@ 13 Dehart Street) or lot (@ 12 Wilmot Street) are a short walk to Tacoria.

Since the weather was perfect, we decided to sit outside with our dog. The service was very attentive throughout the meal. We started with fresh pineapple juice and a frozen margarita ($14). The juice was light and refreshing, while the margarita was perfectly balanced and delicious. For appetizers, we shared several plates: Brisket Nachos ($18) - Slow-roasted brisket with yellow habanero salsa, cheddar, black beans, radish, crema, and pico de gallo. The portion was enormous--very New Jersey-sized--and full of flavor. Tasting Trio of Guacamole ($16) - Guacamole Casa: Avocado, onion, tomato, cilantro, serrano, and sea salt M - Serrano Marmalade: Serrano, lime, and agave - Fresa:* Fresh seasonal fruit mix The guacamole trio was outstanding; we loved all three, especially the Serrano Marmalade. It was so good I wish I could find something like it in New York City. For our mains, we ordered: Huevos Rancheros ($17) - Sunny-side-up eggs with refried beans, rice, pico de gallo, chorizo Milano, ranchera sauce, crema, queso fresco, red onion, serranos, and crispy corn tostadas. Shrimp Tacos ($24)** - Seared pineapple achiote shrimp with mango slaw, aji verde, pineapple achiote adobo, and micro cilantro on corn tortillas. Steak Chalupas, Cholula Style ($29) - Seared ribeye steak served with bone marrow mashed potatoes, cotija, salsa verde aioli, crema, shredded cabbage, and lime. By the time our entrées arrived, we were already 80% full from the appetizers, but everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The bottled water is $ 10, Orela is a fantastic spot for a relaxed weekend lunch, especially if you're bringing your dog. The outdoor seating is lovely, and the food quality easily rivals many NYC restaurants.

The bartender guided us on the drink options and offered suggestions, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the spicy margarita, which was delicious. We then were seated up stairs (the decor and ambiance of this place is beautiful!). They provide complimentary chips and salsa (my fav). The owner came by to apologize for the wait, which really wasn't terrible, and offered us two free tacos on the house. They were delicious! One chicken and one beef. We ordered the toca vez salad and plantain and coconut shrimp sushi (UNREAL!). Both were delicious but the plantain starter was heavenly. I ordered the scallop risotto. Delicious! My husband ordered the salmon and it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Cooked to perfection!! The waitress knew we were celebrating and provided up to complimentary champagnes and ice cream. One of the best dining experiences. Can't wait to come back to try more!

Shrimp tacos - tender seasoned shrimp served on fresh corn tortillas and a spicy sauce on the side were excellent. The steaks - one medium rare ribeye was surprisingly lean, but tender and flavorful and was beautifully cooked. The filet ordered medium came somewhere between rare and medium rare. But it was tender as expected (it is prime filet after all). Asparagus side was phenomenal. Shoestring fries came out crisp but oddly room temp. Sea bass dish was good, but the menu description failed to adequately describe the ingredients. The steaks were typical upscale steakhouse, but I guess I was hoping for a more Mexican-inspired flare when it came to the sauces or sides. Service was well-coordinated and available and friendly and efficient. The area that was lacking was the knowledge of the food. No one knew what was in the sauce that accompanied the shrimp tacos. It's okay not to know perhaps, but say I don't know and go find out. Also requested information about the dishes was lacking, particularly when it came to food allergies which one person in our party had.

My entree, chicken enchiladas with salsa verde and a side of rice and beans, was quite under-seasoned. Luckily, the hot sauce and other salsas that accompanied the dish enhanced the flavor quite a bit; otherwise, the dish would have fallen flat. My mate had the chicken quesadilla, which also needed some salt, but the hot sauce and other salsas helped bring it to life. The Jamaica drink was truly the star of my order and is what would make me want to come back to the restaurant and try other items.
