Small place
Lydia K.

Clean restaurant, friendly staff and the owner greeted customers!! I think their tacos are probably bomb but the burritos were small for the price and didn't include beans, not much meat and mostly rice. If I was in the area again I would definitely try the fresh grilled tacos.

More tacos!

Central just started doing Breakfast and it's amazing!! Raul and his crew are the nicest people and make the most delicious, authentic Mexican food! Be sure to stop by their beautiful Morristown restaurant for chilaquiles, huevos con chorizo, and much more!! Check out our full visit here: https://www.instagram.com/share/BAQEW5-XPG

The place isn't super big but they have enough stool seating. The portions are good enough to get you comfortably full and the prices are reasonable ($15 for two birria tacos with cheese and consome, and $4.25 for one taco). The consome was a bit cold which has happened before unfortunately but it still tastes great. The people there are always super nice so can't complain about that but this time we did have the girl at the front forget about serving our Esquite and we were waiting for an extra 20 minutes for it which was disappointing, we had to ask about it and it came out cold on top of it. We asked for a refund and were given it so props to them for making it right. We'll give them another chance soon.

Best tacos I had in a while! Service is pretty quick, but more on the go style as there is not enough room to seat and enjoy. Would highly recommend.

Awesome, authentic tacos and Mexican food served quick as lightning. Bright and inviting little eatery that welcomes you as you walk through the door. Staff was super helpful and offered great recommendations. The flavors are off the charts and the food comes out before you can even sit down at a table. The homemade tortillas are an awesome touch and I love the open kitchen concept of being able to watch all of your food being made. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for some authentic Mexican cuisine!

Pastor Tacos

I ordered the 3-taco pastor and was overall satisfied. The combination of onion, pineapple, and seasoned pork worked well together. I also added the guacamole for $2 extra, which comes in two small containers (more than enough for 3 tacos). The pork was not too fatty (a good thing) and tasted a little sweet (maybe cinnamon-y too?). The order was ready when I got there and the service was friendly. I would stop by again if I'm in the area and wanted a quick bite for sure!

Delicious little taco spot with such a sweet young guy working the register and best horchata I've ever had!!! Their guacamole and homemade chips are delicious, and also really enjoyed the pastor tacos filled with grilled pineapple. Love how casual, affordable, and tasty everything here was. Would totally come back when in the area. 5 stars!!!!

The rib eye burrito I got wasn't the best I'd give it 6/10. the steak was seasoned well but it was in large chunks and wasn't ideal for a burrito. The service was friendly but slow and our appetizer was supposed to take an extra 5 minutes to come out but they forgot about it and when we reminded them they made it quickly but it was cold and tasted terrible. I had to return the app because it was so bad but they gave a refund immediately and apologized. The ambiance of the place was the best part, it's got a warm and inviting design on the inside, a lot of seating, and a nice view of Morristown main.

The food was delicious. The service was ok could have been better. I asked for the pastor to be crispy and with flour tortilla and the first one was not crispy and it came with corn tortilla. The second one I ordered was good as I asked. There are some seating inside and some outside as well. Over all good food and will come back again.

Central Taqueria offers a sumptuous bite of food that's ready in minutes. My chicken taco was well seasoned and well balanced with fresh cilantro, my veggie taco entered the chat with sautéed, juicy peppers, the house hot sauce (in bottles on the counter) was nice, and the tortillas were delicious. I liked the a la carte ordering, too, since it allowed portion control. My brother set himself up with a cochinita torta, which I sampled. Points off for the oil that was dripping all over the bread, but the pork inside was moist and flavorful. This pig did not die in vain.

Stopped by for a quick lunch at this unassuming taco place and we ended up with two types of tacos. The al pastor tacos had great flavor and the pineapple complimented it really well. The birria tacos weren't my favorite but maybe because we got it without cheese. The single taco shell was a letdown though and made it difficult to eat but overall still enjoyed!

Great, authentic tacos in the Morristown area. Would recommend! Having lived on the Mexican border for several years, I have been trying to find authentic Mexican food in the tri-state area for a while. This place has been one of the closest and best I've had in a while. I ordered to go. I got the Al pastor and nopales (cactus) tacos and they were great! Their sauces/ salsas were spicy and flavorful. The chips were really good too! The horchata was really awesome. I will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu.

HUGE compliments to the incredibly attentive service! From the minute I walked in, who I assumed was the Manager was helpful and not in an overbearing way. He was so nice! Got the nopal taco, the cochinita taco, and the al pastor taco. The nopal had good texture & crunch. The cochinita was probably my least favorite. Still good, but not as good as the other two. And the al pastor was THE BEST!! Good flavor on all, especially with the recommended hot sauce which wasn't that hot at all but added something a little extra. Dined al fresco since it was a beautiful day but there was ample seating indoors as well. Will definitely return!

I opted for the online order and it was ready just when it was promised. The entire order was packaged perfectly, and there were no issues when I opened it I ordered the steak quesadilla with onions and it was very good. It had a slight kick, but as someone who doesn't tolerate spiciness very well, it was just enough for me. I didn't know what to expect from the brussels sprouts but they were sweet and not spicy at all. A great side entree! Overall, a great visit to Tacoria. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back!"

Over the last several years, Morristown has seen an influx of several new casual and not-so-casual…read moreMexican and TexMex restaurants.. seemingly replacing the numerous frozen yogurt outlets that were the subject of an earlier culinary trend. Tacoria, which was one of the earliest participants in this recent trend, offers tasty, made-to-order TexMex cuisine in a trendy, fast-casual cafeteria-style ambiance. The cozy dining area, which is open to South Street when the weather is cooperative, only offers about a dozen tables for two or four diners, so it may be difficult to get seating during peak times. On several visits, we've had to stand around awkwardly holding our food while waiting for other diners to finish their meals and relinquish their table for us. After placing your order at the counter from the menu that allows you to build-your-own burritos, bowls, street tacos, salads, or nachos -- all of which is cooked to order -- grab a seat at one of the tables in the dining area and wait for your pager to buzz and let you know your meal is ready to be picked up. The service is very good with counterstaff that's very knowledgeable about the menu and terrific at making whatever accommodations a diner may require (vegetarian, lactose free, etc.). I'm a fan of the Burrito - Al Pastor ($12.50), comprised of ground marinated pork served with black beans, seasoned rice, and salsa in a grilled flour tortilla.. but I was surprised that my entree did not come with even a small portion of complimentary tortilla chips. My dining companion enjoyed her salad topped with marinated grilled chicken ($11), sliced avocado, black beans, pico de gallo, and cheese on a bed of romaine lettuce and topped with a pineapple lime dressing. There's a handful of complimentary homemade hot sauces - which range from mild verde to spicy habenero -- as well as several varieties of Cholula and Tabasco available (and small 'to go' containers if you're planning to dine elsewhere) if you want to kick things up a notch - and a Coca-Cola fountain machine offering unlimited refills of the basic Coca-Cola options (Coke, Diet Coke, etc.) if you've overdone it with the complimentary hot sauces. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Tacoria doesn't have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street parking on South Street. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. If you can't find a spot on the street, the Morristown Parking Authority DeHart Street garage (@ 13 Dehart Street) or lot (@ 12 Wilmot Street) are a short walk to Tacoria.

Since the weather was perfect, we decided to sit outside with our dog. The service was very attentive throughout the meal. We started with fresh pineapple juice and a frozen margarita ($14). The juice was light and refreshing, while the margarita was perfectly balanced and delicious. For appetizers, we shared several plates: Brisket Nachos ($18) - Slow-roasted brisket with yellow habanero salsa, cheddar, black beans, radish, crema, and pico de gallo. The portion was enormous--very New Jersey-sized--and full of flavor. Tasting Trio of Guacamole ($16) - Guacamole Casa: Avocado, onion, tomato, cilantro, serrano, and sea salt M - Serrano Marmalade: Serrano, lime, and agave - Fresa:* Fresh seasonal fruit mix The guacamole trio was outstanding; we loved all three, especially the Serrano Marmalade. It was so good I wish I could find something like it in New York City. For our mains, we ordered: Huevos Rancheros ($17) - Sunny-side-up eggs with refried beans, rice, pico de gallo, chorizo Milano, ranchera sauce, crema, queso fresco, red onion, serranos, and crispy corn tostadas. Shrimp Tacos ($24)** - Seared pineapple achiote shrimp with mango slaw, aji verde, pineapple achiote adobo, and micro cilantro on corn tortillas. Steak Chalupas, Cholula Style ($29) - Seared ribeye steak served with bone marrow mashed potatoes, cotija, salsa verde aioli, crema, shredded cabbage, and lime. By the time our entrées arrived, we were already 80% full from the appetizers, but everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The bottled water is $ 10, Orela is a fantastic spot for a relaxed weekend lunch, especially if you're bringing your dog. The outdoor seating is lovely, and the food quality easily rivals many NYC restaurants.

But it was tender as expected (it is prime filet after all). Asparagus side was phenomenal. Shoestring fries came out crisp but oddly room temp. Sea bass dish was good, but the menu description failed to adequately describe the ingredients. The steaks were typical upscale steakhouse, but I guess I was hoping for a more Mexican-inspired flare when it came to the sauces or sides. Service was well-coordinated and available and friendly and efficient. The area that was lacking was the knowledge of the food. No one knew what was in the sauce that accompanied the shrimp tacos. It's okay not to know perhaps, but say I don't know and go find out. Also requested information about the dishes was lacking, particularly when it came to food allergies which one person in our party had.
