I must say parking sucks- there is a lot right next to, but there was a dark skinned man sitting in the lot basically patrolling. He told me I can't park there after I said I was running into deli to quickly pick up.. I found this a major turnoff. I'm 9 months pregnant might I add and the deli is basically on a narrow steep road with minimal spots. Not ideal. I also wouldn't consider the Area extremely safe so I didn't want to park too far away. I ended up just parking illegally and running in. I ordered (a whole) Favorite Joe, fries and macaroni salad. Everything tasted fresh once I got home and was good! I wouldn't say it's better or worse than Millburn deli - I can appreciate both places having a quality sloppy Joe!! If you're in the area, I would recommend you stop in!!

The gobbler sandwich is yummy, The Godfadda, The Gossip Girl, I also have had an egg salad with layer of tuna salad Sloppy Joe-that is amazing! The Cobb salad is also a fave. I had overlooked this place 'til now as it sits in a row of more obvious eateries with sidewalk seating. A cold case with interesting and tasty looking salads convinced me to give them a try and I am not sorry. I ordered through the kiosk and was tickled to see my favorite fish sandwich on the menu. Served on a nice hamburger bun, the crispy fresh white fish was perfectly cooked and piled high with fish. All the condiments--lettuce, pickle (hold the tomato) capers and tartar sauce set the fish off wonderfully. Staff is friendly and efficient. Everything is prepared as a "to-go" order and served up in a nice package, but there are tables where you can sit and eat your "to-go." I was eager to get back home to my pup, so I did take it home and it was still hot when I got there. The corn salad I had as a side was awesome and in a lovely light lemon dressing.

The moment I walked in, the team was friendly and welcoming. You can tell they know their regulars by name, and even as a new customer I felt taken care of. The place is clean, organized, and you can see they take pride in what they do. I ordered a sandwich and it was exactly what a deli sandwich should be fresh bread, generous portions, and ingredients that taste like they were prepped that day. They don't skimp on anything, and the flavors were spot on. Prices are also very fair for the quality you get, which is always a plus. Whether you're grabbing breakfast, lunch, or a quick bite on the go, G & S is the kind of dependable local spot you're happy to have in the neighborhood. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

I go here often enough and the customer service is amazing. They also have rewards and an app now…read moreso I recommend getting your points. Nice black-owned spot with variety of vegan options and it is clean. There's space to dine-in and they are open on Sundays. The energy is also open enough where strangers will have a convo while waiting. Coming from Brooklyn, I'm happy to have this spot so close to where I am now. Savory: My go-to is the chickpea tuna sandwich. I've tried it on a roll, long sub, and gluten-free... highly recommend the long sub. It's way too messy on the roll for me. Typically get it with the works. The potato salad is also very good most of the time (sometimes the potatoes are a little undercooked). I've also had the macaroni salad and the fried mushroom sandwich which are also good. I definitely enjoyed the thanksgiving special with stuffing (highly recommend that if they bring it back this year). Tip: if ordering a hero and you don't see yourself eating the entire thing in one sitting, I recommend requesting for the sandwich to not be cut so you can cut it evenly on your own For baked goods: the peach cobbler is good and it comes in a cute cup with a little spoon. I've also had the lemon cake & rum cake. Would order all 3 again. Would love to see donuts or cinnamon rolls (hopefully without cashews or walnuts due to my allergy). DRINKS: I haven't had a drink there that I would get again. The teas are overwhelmingly sweet; hibiscus punch was a lot like kool-aid to me. I also don't recommend the matcha if you are a matcha snob. Harper's Cafe is a great black-owned spot for a consistently good latte and they use quality matcha if you want quality nearby. Great spot with lots of options, especially if you're looking for a black-owned spot to support.

It's the perfect lunch, and honestly the perfect beach day meal too. There's just something about a giant, delicious vegan sub that hits every time. A while back they hosted a soul food night with oyster mushrooms, mac and cheese, greens, the whole lineup, and it was amazing. But those deli subs are still the thing I keep coming back for. They're huge, filling, and just taste like someone really cared while putting them together. There's seating inside and a wall where you can write your name, which I think is such a cute touch. Makes the place feel personal and loved. I also tried their carrot cake at VegFest recently and it was delicious and moist. They had a pretty steady line of people the entire time, so clearly the vegan crowd knows what's up. The subs run around $20 and everything is made fresh to order, so expect to wait a bit. It's worth it. I'm definitely looking forward to going back soon!!
