This spot is a classic for those of us who went to WMMHS- half and half is a must as is the sloppy Joe sandwiches - no one does them like wicker! Not cheap but for a local spot it's super convenient and consistent! They are the best kind of "club" like sandwich with more layers than you even knew were possible. Great local deli with good sandwiches. A staple in Mendham and always visited when my kids come home - the Six plus is not to be missed!

We just used them for catering& it was spot on. Lots to choose from but we ordered a turkey club on rye, a sloppy joe and Italian subs. The club sandwich is an all star and can't be beat! In the future I hope they offer delivery. In the meantime we order from here all the time. We also love their chicken salad and egg salad sandwiches. read more

I ordered a blueberry bagel with turkey sausage egg and cheese and it was delicious! The bagel was soft and well toasted just like I requested. Sometimes, you can't taste the flavor of the bagel, but this one was right on the money! The staff was patient and helpful. I also ordered iced coffee, which was good but there weren't a huge variety of flavors. I was offered French vanilla and hazelnut. Overall, a very good visit. read more

The low reviews on this place are shocking - this local fixture sells some of the best sandwiches available anywhere. Some of our favorites are the grilled chicken (I don't know what is in it, but it's so juicy and flavorful), hot roast beef with cheddar, philly cheese steak, Cuban, and of course the Taylor ham egg and cheese. Their half and half (lemonade and iced tea) is the perfect blend - can never turn it down. It definitely can be a little intimidating and chaotic the first time you go - there can be a long line and then other folks just milling about waiting for their food. Don't let that stop you though - just make your way in and step up when they ask for the next customer. Note that they don't accept credit, so bring cash! read more

The Wicker Basket has to be one of my all time favorite sandwich shops. The sandwiches are really good, and I especially recommend any sandwich with roast beef. Their roast beef is always so good, and goes well in any sandwich. The shop is also convenient and is an easy place to go the get a quick sandwich, some chips, and a soda. However, the sandwiches are a bit overpriced, but I will still pay for the sandwiches since they are so good. Usually I wouldn't write a review about a deli, and if I did, couldn't imagine it earning higher than a single star, as I feel that if you have eaten at one, you've eaten at them all. But after my recent visit to the Wicker Basket in Mendham, NJ, I decided to spread the wealth. The deli is small in size, and is meant only for take-out. I noted that the hours were fairly ealry as well, much like any other deli in the area. A giant display case wraps around the counters, showcasing the different types of meats and salads they have to offer. I also noted that there was a certain delicious aroma that filled the air. Wicker Basket is busy...every time I drive by or stop in, there is usually a line (especially during school days, thanks to the town's high school just down the street). But it is well worth the wait. Wicker's customer service is excellent and creates a very friendly environment. I noted that one of the biggest sellers they offer....a delicious half and half lemonade/ice tea drink that costs only $1.50, was flying off the shelves, and workers were scrambling to get more out. I ordered a Chicken Fillet sandwich and a half and half. The price was very reasonable and once my order had been taken, it only took a coupel minutes to get the food out to me. I ate the lunch in my car, and I have to tell you, I honeslty don't think you can get a better Chicken Fillet anywhere. It was moist, juicy and filling...I look foward to my next visit. I don't know why anyone is giving this place a low rating. Yes it's a bit pricey for a deli, but this is Mendham... everything is a bit overpriced. I saw someone complain that there was no sign. There is a sign, just not an obnoxiously huge sign like a Dunkin Donuts would have, that's part of the charm of this small town, it is not commercialized. The staff is so friendly, everyone that walks in is greeted with smiles. The food is always made to order, so if it's a busy time of day you might have to wait a little. But that's ok because you can always call your order in and have it ready by the time you get there. The hot food is hot and the cold food is cold. And after going here for breakfast since back in 2001, I have never had a bad sandwich. Anything I've ordered is yummy. Don't forget to order a half & half. read more

I'm confused why a deli in an affluent area serves heated up preformed processed frozen chicken and passes it off as "grilled chicken" - the bread was good as was the fresh fixings (onions lettuce tomato etc) but there's nothing more deflating than biting into fake preservative chicken breast. I ordered the roast beef sloppy (which for some reason came 1/2 roast beef and half turkey, but, in the end it didn't matter as it tasted marvelous!!) along with the not always easy to find reduced fat Cape Cod chips. Super fast sandwich making service, numerous choices of chip and drink accompaniments, very fresh meat and bread make for a great take-out deli experience. And to that surprisingly reasonable prices for high quality ingredients and larger-than-average portions and you've drawn the winning ticket! I also spied what looked like a soft ice cream (or was it something to make shakes? I didn't get to investigate). Parking in the busy King's lot isn't too bad. I stopped by this place to buy a couple sandwiches for our flight back to California because our friend highly recommended the place. I checked on Yelp and it does have pretty awesome reviews. I walked in and there were a couple people waiting for their sandwiches so I took a couple minutes looking at the menu. I would say the menu is a bit disappointing for a place with high Yelp review. That's okay... I want to look beyond the simple decor and menu. After walking up to the counter, I placed the order for couple of sandwiches. The man asked me what I want on it. I explained that it will be eaten in the airplane so I don't want it soggy and wanted his recommendation. He just gave me this blank stare as if I was speaking Chinese to him. My brothers and I tried it out (expecting the same mix of slimy cold cuts and too much confetti lettuce that you got at independent delis in SoCal at the time) and were blown away. My friends recently started working at a place close by and suggested this place. I'm not usually one to like delicatessens and I was shocked with how much they offered there. Plus they make breakfast items as long as they're open! This is amazing. Anyone who likes breakfast items give the breakfast burrito a try. Totally hit the spot. I work in healthcare and had patients in mendham so I looked all over for a place for breakfast. I come to this big shopping plaza at around 7 am and I see all of these cars in one spot. I'm trying to figure where these people are going cause there is NO SIGN for this business. I figured because of the amount of people going in that it must be somewhere to get breakfast. I end up getting egg and cheese on a plain bagel. It was my first time going in there and I won't be back. The bagel was very bland and the egg super salty. Gross!
