Here's the deal. Senatore is located across from the lake Mohawk boardwalk plaza. There parking on the street and side lot. Ordering at counter and the meal is brought out to your table. In addition to inside seating there is a side covered porch with plenty of seating options! As for the food! I came for the cheesesteak(s)!!! The "Senatore" & the "Italian" were make to order and the meat was tender and had a great meat/cheese/bun ratio!! The Italian cheesesteak was definitely better!! The fries are crispy and fresh!! Little too much salt (maybe someone had a heavy hand in the back). My only issue was ....sticker shock.... 2 cheesesteaks & fries and 2 soda was $50+ bucks!!! While the beautiful chalk board clearly shows prices. Just seems a LOT to pay for cheesesteaks! They do have a 1/2 sandwich options, perhaps that's the way to go!! I'd definitely come back and try other items!!

Menu options - tough choices to make, it all looks delish!

Why did I wait so long?! If you are looking for a solid sandwich in the Sparta area, this is it! It's small, but comfortable with a little outside space. Honestly, a great option for anyone out in the lake for take-out. The BLT was crispy (the good kind that scrapes your mouth) and the cilantro lime sauce was a perfect surprise. Hubs got the cheese steak which came in a sesame roll that had a perfect chew, and the poblano peppers that didn't overwhelm the sandwich. Fries were reminiscent of a good boardwalk fry. Yes, we'll be back for sure!

Best Valentine's Day ever. Ribeye cheesesteaks, smash burger, a footlong do(n)g, cokes, cheese fries. Great music, ample seating. Friendly proprietor. Parking lot. Planning to return very soon!

Delicious, kid approved! Like most teens my son loves a burger and fries we had been meaning to try for a while and this summer we finally made a stop. This is now his go to anytime he's craving burger and fries. My husband and I shared a cheesesteak which was hands down the best in the area. Our daughter a fry lover gobbled her fry order up. We also got a fancy soda which I didn't know what it was so gave it a try, I had the pineapple grapefruit and it was tasted like a naturally sweet seltzer. My kids got their favorite Jarrito drinks, they had many optional flavors. Best of all prices are reasonable. While we waited they played on the old school games. This is the perfect little spot. My son and his friends will definitely be regulars I'm sure when they are out in town.

11/10. This place is a classic brick & mortar small business that's dishing out unreal burgers and steaks. Food comes out quick and the staff is super friendly. Came here after seeing their smash burger on social media and I'm kicking myself for not discovering sooner. BE AWARE: Due to the high volume of people coming in for their cheesesteaks, you're going to want to come early. We came at 5:30 and they had to tell 6 different customers that they ran out of steaks!! They are selling out daily! Come eat one and you'll know why...

We stopped in for lunch and had a great sandwich. Nice little spot near lake Mohawk. Service was friendly and everything was delicious; definitely would stop in again!!

    Turkey Club. Amazing

Food was incredible! Quick service. Waited less than 5 minutes for 2 cheesesteaks with fries and a turkey club. Definitely the best cheesesteak sandwiches around. Perfect amount of seasoning and the peppers and onions were the perfect amount. Fries were great tasting and fresh. Wife had the turkey club and she said it was the best in the area that she has tried. This place is definitely and must stop at if in the area. Cozy Little tables if alone or a couple. Definitely can be put together for lager crowd. Nice music to listen too and it's not to loud. Highly recommended if I didn't say so already lol.

***1 1/2 stars***…read more It's pretty rare for me to go below two stars, but we literally couldn't find any redeeming qualities other than a kid-friendly chalkboard off to the side. Rough, rough lunch and I'm picking the places going forward. I came here with my top-tier chum and #1 honorary young pup chum for a midday meal yesterday. This was an unfortunate recommendation by my chum, but in her defense, the biggest selling point was that they had a young pup section of the menu (which many of my suggestions didn't). This may have been a sign that it's time for the young pup to just order off adult menus going forward. This is probably a weird time of year to be over here anyway; this restaurant recently moved next to the baseball stadium, and December just isn't the greatest page on the calendar for America's pastime so it feels a little wasteland-ish right now. There were also a few random amusement park rides that we had to walk around to access the entrance (apparently more for a nighttime winter festival of sorts?) so the vibes were a little off to start. The interior was fine though - there's an interesting looking bar off to the left and high ceilings, so it feels more spacious than it actually is, given the overall square footage you're dealing with. I also enjoyed the cow decor, though I might be missing the joke with some of the cow/pig hybrid animals on display. My chum remarked that it seemed like the menu was designed by someone who'd never actually tasted the food, and certainly wasn't the same person who cooked it. Definitely a possibility, but my general impression was that this is ostensibly a family restaurant (remember the chalkboard?) with a menu only targeting young female adults, from the bar food to the cocktails. It's very strange. I wish there was a nicer way to say it, but the cocktails were terrible. I had their version of an Old Fashioned, which had coffee in it. Just did not go well together at all; there's a reason why Irish coffee with Bailey's was invented - not every dark spirit is going to work with coffee. I find it hard to believe this was taste-tested before being added to the menu. Never again. I felt worse for my chum though, who got a holiday twist on a margarita with cranberry. It was so beyond tart I could barely swallow it and it honestly tasted like cough medicine. In a quasi-NSFW comment, my chum mentioned that this drink might be helpful for a UTI, but alas, we were at a restaurant, not a pharmacy. At the very least, they need to retrain their bartenders on basic portions of a cocktail, but when the ingredients clash, that's a management issue. We got the Cow Wedgies to share as an app - basically, flattened mozzy sticks. I like the flattened concept but these were pretty bad. I'm assuming the issue here is they were in the deep fryer for too long because they had pockets of grease that would pop when you bit into them, almost like a pimple. One of those pockets exploded and stained the front of my hoodie. Not great - an unappetizing appetizer. The impression I got was that The Barnyard were pretty aggressively touting the chicken/waffles section of the menu. I went with the Winner Winner, which was another example of not understanding basic palates and taste profiles. This is a savory item - it has chicken, mashed potatoes and this gravy/corn concoction. Inexplicably, they then added this weird tangy sauce that would be better served on a bang bang shrimp app that completely ruined the dish. It's such an unforced error I don't understand how it happened. It's going to come as no surprise, but the service matched the overall quality of the meal. There were very few customers on the premises and yet our waitress was mostly MIA. She never came by to check on us after serving the food, despite making multiple trips to a table near us to inefficiently clear it practically one item at a time. It's very hard to give constructive feedback when an experience is this bad, but to me it starts at the very beginning - make sure the items on your menu taste good and that your staff is properly trained on basic hospitality concepts. The Kingdom of Sussex deserves a lot better than this.

You order at the counter and are given a placard for your table and your food is then brought to you. The biggest complaint from our party would be all drinks are for purchase not even tap water is given. Which is fine we had our own water. We ordered a side of waffle fries and the sloppy tots for the table. The side of waffle fries could've definitely been larger. The sloppy tots were delicious as the tots were well done and topped deliciously with beer cheese, bbq sauce, pork, and sour cream. They just needed a little salt. Everyone ordered a burger and they were good just super greasy. I ordered the pub burger in which the Irish cheese was definitely an acquired taste but the pretzel bun was delicious. The ya filthy animal burger I think would've been between with the coleslaw on the side as it made a mushy consistency. The stampede burger and bacon mushroom Swiss were both good. I will say for $15 per burger a little ridiculous it doesn't come with any side and just a pickle. The inside has almost a diner vibe to it but all the staff were friendly and polite.

Be prepared! Inside, we were met with a kind staff and a delicious lunch. The boomin bloomin onion was a favorite for our crew, with the typical blooming onion sauce you know and love from the steak chains. What differentiated it was the thin slicing of the onions, which made it easier to just keep dipping a little bit more. The only letdown of the meal, which was a relative letdown given how solid the burgers and onion were, was the fries. They didn't have flavor, even though I got mine with Cajun seasoning and my wife got hers with a beer cheese dip. They need to punch up the salt fresh out of the fryer to really let the other seasonings shine. We actually overheard another table say the same thing after we finished our fries, so I don't think it was just a fluke order. That said, if you're nitpicking over the sides at the burger and shake place, I'd say you're going to the wrong places! This was a tasty meal and a stop I'd easily go back to if I was nearby.

Because I got a fat sandwich, not a burger. But what a great menu variety to choose frome! It's the tastiest fat sandwich I ever had. It actually looked skinny when it showed up on the tray, but it turned out to be much deeper bread to compensate. Very high quality ingredients and seasoning compared to the infamous food trucks. My friend and I agreed that the fries are excellent, nice and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. However, I regret to inform you that Cheese Fries are really Cheez Fries, without actual cheese on them. (I bet I could order that... for an additional fee. The 50 cent upcharge looked too good to be true.) So now, the unfortunate reasons the 4 stars has dropped to a 3. First, I agree with what many others have said here - this is the wrong environment for Denville. You're walking into an industrial setting. The raised roof reveals some rough edges to the top of the bathroom and above the kitchen, both of which feature various objects stored on those tops. Really poor design unless you're a test kitchen. And design alone wouldn't be enough to deduct a star, except the service was a bit of an issue. There were only two staff present, and they were both cooks, which means one of them had to stop cooking every time a customer had a request. Service was still fairly quick and friendly, but I really can't think of another time I have experienced something like this. One star will be given back with either of the above reductions fixed. If all is fixed... I will come back, order an actual burger with actual (upcharged) cheese on my fries, and reconsider.
